Really enjoyed the story line. I will admit to being completely hooked. The only draw back for me was a little too much teenage sarcasm/witticism. That got a little tiresome.

Otherwise i would have given this 4 stars because I loved Trick and in particular his character development.

OMG!!!! Totally and utterly freakin blown away!!!!
I just can't put it all in words yet... But FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC.....

Ok, I have had time to process everything and I have to say first that Elfin is a book that I didn't want to put down for one single minute.
Although I was forced to, I was constantly thinking about it...the fabulous characters, the mystical world of the elves, the intriguing and mesmerizing story that draws you in from the very beginning and holds you captive til the very end...
Quinn Loftis is such a brilliant talented writer and her Grey Wolves series has captivated me already and so when she announced a new series around elves, I was ecstatic!! I knew she was going knock this one of the ballpark and boy did she ever with Elfin!!
Meeting Cassie, a human girl, that is pure of heart, compassionate, considerate, and just an overall good girl leads us in to the ensuing battles within the elves world of light and dark. And who better to need such a bright star in their life than none other than the dark elf Triktapic...aka Trik. Their first meeting was hot and magical. And after that, OMG...all I wanted was more of these two together.
But, with the darkness trying to take over, we are caught up in a whirlwind of secrets and struggles that is gut-wrenching, nail-biting, sitting on the edge of your seat events that ultimately leads you to that moment of tears..Yes, I cried a little...I just couldn't believe it was going to go this way....BUT...my ray of sunshine came through the dark clouds and a perfect ending appeared...AND...it left me wanting soooo much more...THANK GOODNESS that there is going to be a book 2...I cannot wait to get more of this couple and exciting characters introduced to us in Elfin.
A work of genius by Quinn Loftis...A magnificent storyline, an exotic, beautiful world, and the enchanting, alluring characters are wrapped together in this outstanding enjoyable tale....
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Once again Quinn has managed to create something amazing and entertaining. She knows how to pull of the combination of adventure, and romance. If you're looking for a story that will have you on the edge of your seat while dreaming if a "once in a lifetime love" Quinn has got what you're looking for! Great job Quinn, you never let your fans down. ;)

Quinn Loftis's books are phenomenal and highly respected. Quinn has given the world TWO different series to laugh, cry, scream and gasp over. Every book she has written has been one journey after the other. First from overly protective male werewolves to crazy, deadly assassins. I never thought things would turn out like they did. It was frustrating but AMAZING! I am truly happy that Quinn Loftis brought us the world of Grey Wolves and Elves. Without Quinn, we wouldn't have Vasile, Fane,Decebel,Costin,Sorin, Jen,Jacque,Sally,Peri,Trik or Alina! I really do love all of Quinn's books, nothing but a joy and a blessing. Thanks Quinn for writing the most stellar books ever!

Quinn Loftis seriously has no idea how much she has helped me get through. to be able to engulf my self in her wonderful stories and forget about my current trouble or pains from recent surgery and just immerse my self in the world of her imagination. she is just wonderful.

After reading Ms Loftis Grey Wolves series I really looked forward to Elfin. This book just did not make it for me. For me the book got off to a slow but strange strange beginning. I thought if I just stayed with it that it would grab me but that didn't happen. I stopped reading and began to skim from there just went to the end. It did take a turn for the better but not good enough. I got to the end and realized that it was the first book in a new series. (I did know this before I began to read the book)

There were place that I stopped and thought to myself 'didn't this happen in the Grey Wolves series'. This a concern for me.

Many others here love this book and I think that this great. Ms Loftis has talent. She deserves the good reviews that others have left here. I would encourage readers to get a sample and decide on your own. If you have not read her Grey Wolves series give it a try.

This was an absolutely brilliant book! The plot is extremely well written. Never boring, just the right amount of detail and action. I cannot wait to read the next book. Praise to Loftis for such brilliance! I totally recommend this book to anyone looking for a great read.

This was absolutely amazing. I love this book. I want to see where this story ends. I haven't been this happy with a book in many years. I am head over heels in love with an Elf. It's my Orlando Bloom via Legolas phase all over again. Please don't make me wait for long for book 2.

I was really hoping this would have been better. While it was lacking in ways of maturity (yes, I know it's written more for young adults), it had a story that kept me reading, which is why I am giving this a 3 star. Right smack in the middle.

My first thought when I started reading this, was that the writing was clunky and was giving WAY too many descriptions. It broke the flow of the read and just droned on about what the elf looked like, what he wore, etc. It was just too much too soon. I thought Elora and Cassie were sweet and had a great friendship. Trik...Trik was disappointing in a way that he is supposed to be over 1,000 years old and he doesn't act, much less walk like he is. Looking past that, I thought he was an interesting character and liked him.

The idea and the story would have been SO much better had it been written for adults. The immaturity just really took away what could have been so much more. Especially the relationship between Trik and Cassie and the situation that happens between the Dark Elf King when she is high on Rapture. If the elf were as bad as he is supposed to be, and with how drugged she was, and how she had pretty much become a performer, I'm surprised that things hadn't been worse for as long as she was kept.

Overall, it was an okay read.

I like when characters and plot are not always black or white, good or evil.... and the juxtaposition between the two. I liked both the main characters in this book and the journey they travel to find themselves. I would definately recommend this book.

I liked the story and the characters, but the story kind of dragged at the end, and I felt that the end was slightly lame. However, the beginning of the story was awesome. I must have liked the book because I was willing to pay for the second in the series, and I am anxiously awaiting the next book to come out.

The characters were well developed and plot well thought out and the story moved along at a good pace. I was sorry to reach the end. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys the possibility of our "real" world crossing paths with magical ones.

I just finished. I really enjoyed reading this, how refreshing to have one of the main characters that is not the nice guy! Loved Cassie's Dad, how funny was he and the question quiz! I'm ready for the next book.

One of the best supernatural books I've read, and believe me, I've read a lot. It was different to any other book I've read, it was hard to predict, a new surprise waited around every corner. It was crude, it may make people squirm, but it suited the book. I couldn't think of any other way to put it. Way to go, Quinn Loftis! One of the best freaking authors EVER!!!

"contains spoilers" just finished it and i was on the edge of my seat and turning the pages on my kindle going where is the rest of the story. i couldn't believe it was over. loved the characters i wanted to hit trik so many times because of how stupid he was being. giving cassie up because he thought it would be better for her, that never works like ever. there were times that i almost wanted to cry because of what was happening to cassie. Yeah she is an awesome main character she isn't the girl character that always needs saving, well she mean to, she fights. oh and her best friend reminded me so much of Jen who is if you don't know a character in Quinn's other series the grey wolf series. you don't mess with her or her friends. I loved the story and the world that Quinn made. oh and cassies dad yeah i was embarrassed for cassie.

If you like romance enough to overlook mediocre writing go for it. Everything in the plot line had to be spelled out to understand why it was happening. It made it feel like the plot was just an afterthought.
