My primary complaint is the lack of character development. I am no literary expert. Perhaps this is common to novellas. The plot seemed to unfold a little too fast. Still, this is a good "page turner" to read, as I did, while relaxing on the beach.

John Rector is my new favorite author. His writing will keep you turning the pages. This story is a great buy at $1.99! I have paid more for less elsewhere :(
I am now reading John's other works.

Not noticeing that the product was a "novella" I was surprised when it ended when it did. I was delighted with the story. The character who turned out to be as evil as he did gave me a turn. Well done!

With friends like Peter, who needs enemies? This Kindle single was well worth the $1.99 and 90 minutes I devoted to it. Creepy, suspenseful, and with an infuriating villain. This quick read reminded me of the old Alfred Hitchcock television series. Loved it!

For a short story/single, the author certiantly provided a good dose of intensity, without an overwhelming amount of "drama." He gave more credence to the theory that all is not what it seems. I really enjoyed this single and read it in one sitting.

From the positive reviews I really thought this was going to be an interesting read. The story was a bit thin and then it went downhill from there. Hated the ending. I had high expectations about finding a new author to explore but I'm going to pass on any others by him.

I couldn't stomach this book beyond the first chapter. People with a limited vocabulary have to use this volume of expletives. So many words in the English language and yet this author hasn't learned word-crafting. I understand a salty character that uses colorful language but if you took the foul language out of this book it wouldn't hold up. I will purchase the store's recommendation with more suspicion in the future.
