The Lost Art of Pie Making Made Easy

This little book is wonderful. How I wish I would have paid better attention when Grandma was making her wonderful home-made pies. As a small girl spending the night at the farm with grandma and grandpa, you automatically knew that come morning, you would have fresh pie. What a great day to start your day! The Lost Art of Pie Making brings it all back. One of the best investments pie makers of any age will make.

Great little booklet. Some really good pie crust recipes in this book, with some "old time" tips. It also has a chicken pot-pie recipe that my family loves (with my little additions/changes, but overall the recipe in the book is used).

An entertaining book. However, I got ready to make the Long's Peak pie, and noticed that the author's note mentioned water, but there is no water listed in the ingredients. So I have no idea whether the author is wrong or the ingredients list is wrong. And if I'm to use water, I have no idea how much. I'm not sure I trust these recipes any more than I trust random internet recipes (which frequently leave out ingredients). So even though it is entertaining, it's a cookbook--and I can't give it a higher rating if the recipes are faulty.

Great story and easy recipes - really great to share with people who also enjoy baking and understand some of the little frustrations of creations gone not necessarily bad but not as planned so to speak hahaha

A neat little book that combines a good history of pie making, basic information about techniques for making pie crusts less intimidating. It is, in my opinion, one of those little treasures that come along once in awhile. It is very informative and SIMPLE to understand.
