Wow. Just finished reading similar transactions. I don't have words to sayhow much I enjoyed this and how impressed I am with the intelligent writing and approach to this story The courage and conviction in pursuing the information about Michelle's death… The dogged pursuit of truth. Reynolds' ability to connect with the family members and Smith's other victims....I am in awe of what she has done, not just in writing this, but in what she has given his victims. I look forward to reading more from this author!

What an amazing, well written book. SR Reynolds does a great job of putting herself in the story and taking us there with her. I've never read a book written this way, but it was well done and easy to see why she did it. Larry Lee IS the man your mother always warned you about and my only regret is that there was no final closure for Anita. I am a huge fan of true crime and this story made my stomach churn...all those poor girls and a guy who was given chance after chance to straighten out his life and never did.

I found it interesting the way the author divided the story into two books and wrote about her involvement in the case in the 3rd person in book number two. The story was written in narrative form, which is how I prefer true crime books. If reading about serial rapists isn't abhorrent to you, you'd probably enjoy the book. Very detailed and graphic at times, but it's well written and researched and not done just for shock value. Kevin Pierce is my favorite true crime narrator but I have to say Linda Kimbrough did an exceptional job. Would be great if the author could interview Larry Lee Smith and write a sequel.

Undisciplined in so many ways, a child may grow up without a conscience...and society better watch out. Cutting a wide swath of physical pain and emotional agony, Larry Lee evidently felt his sexual desires took precedence over the needs and wants of his victims. One wonders if such a one could change.

I was gifted this book on a Saturday afternoon. Two days later, I had completed reading it. It is a testament to courage and tenacity, on the part of the author and the victims who had survived their encounter with the assailant. Sometimes justice is achieved in odd ways. In this case, it was satisfying watching it happen. The view of the criminal justice system is not always flattering, but in the end, things worked out about as well as they could have. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Good true crime story. The author tells about a serial rapist who went to trial three times and was the major suspect in a murder. She describes the pattern of similar transactions and the court sessions that led to his convictions. A useful book and a good story.

well written. story of a serial rapist who moved around to different states. he mainly lived in tennessee, where his mother protected him as much as possible. he was the main suspect in the murder of a teenage girl.
as the story progresses, we discover that incest and suicide were generational problems in his family on both sides.
unfortunately, his family handled the incest by keeping it secret and protecting the persons doing it.

Very well written book. A lot of research went into this true story. Scary to see how sick people really are. And our justice systom doesn't always work. Worth reading this book. You won't want to put it down

Sasha Reynolds weaves an intriguing tale of tenacity and sleuthing in order to find closure and justice in an unsolved murder of a 15 year old child. Happily for us all her investigative skills helped incarcerate a monster. This is definitely a must read for all of us who love to read about true crime and wonder why and how such creatures exist or came to be.

What started out slow built upon itself until I gleaned some new pearls of knowledge. I`ve read true crime now for years ever since as a first year law student, studying criminal law, I became fascinated about the criminal abberant thinking. This author added some new insight to my long study which is rare these days!

The central story of Michelle Anderson is both heartbreaking and frustrating. I learned about our justice system and the many issues with it. Perhaps the most captivating and encouraging part is the stories of the multiple survivors.

Could not put this book down. Well written chronology of events of serial rapist, along with good insights into enabling, dysfunctional family and ineptness (with failure of due diligence) by investigative authorities, permitting additional attacks and victims. This reader learned the great importance of advances over these years; i.e. DNA and interstate coordination of registry and records of sexual offenders, as well as the importance to alert women of situations that repeatedly put victims at risk. THank you, S. Reynolds, for your pursuit of justice and prevention of even more violent acts by this criminal!

an amazing account of a horrendous crime. Yet It's the way that Sasha Reynolds constructs a vision of what took place. It really hits home. You're there. It takes your breath away. I sincerely recommend reading her book

I've read many true crime stories. This story excels in relating the victims retelling of the assaults committed by Larry Lee Smith and their courageous journey to seek justice. It also tells the story of one mother's never ending love for her lost daughter and the support she gave to the other victims in their time of need. She is to be commended.

Well written. I literally could not put this book down. I was drawn to Anita who lost her daughter in such a terrible way. I have a teenage daughter and I cannot imagine having her taken from me by such an evil person as Larry Lee Smith.

This book was a great read. The author seemed unstoppable and passionate about finding the truth and then putting it into words that kept me from putting the book down. This seemed to be a journey for truth and closure for the family and the author. I promise this book will keep you reading right to the end. Kudos to this one.

A truly inspiring story told in a gripping and engaging way. The fact that this writer actually worked on her own and solved this case for the authorities is absolutely amazing. Great book. Great story.

This book was interesting but too long. And why the author felt compelled to say something half way through the book about the style she was going to use to complete the story, I don't know. The first half and the second half seemed the same, in terms of writing style. The story is quite unbelievable. Classic sociopath.

Interesting story and easy to read...during the first part. The second half was too prolonged to maintain my interest. Really wanted to know the ending to this story so I skipped the last third of Part II
