This story had everything. There were times when I laughed and then stopped and wondered if it was supposed to be funny and that was the beauty of the author's storytelling. One of the main characters, Christopher, is a self-proclaimed bad guy who murdered when he felt it necessary to protect his own. The other main character, Snow, is a 21-year-old young man who was living on the streets after leaving his hometown for self-protection. When Snow sees a young boy in an alley being tormented by known lowlifes, he has no choice but to step in and rescue the child, even though they are clearly bigger and very dangerous. This child turns out to be the nephew of the crime boss, Christopher.

This same story, told by another author could have been heart-stopping and full of angst but this author, in her debut, tells the story with prose that is colorful and engaging yet not emotionally draining.

Snow, a nickname taken on by the homeless young man, is such an interesting individual with a memory like Rainman, a loving heart who can dance and capture the hearts of nearly everyone he knows. Nearly, I say, because there is someone with an entirely different feeling. Someone who is after Snow. The action is nonstop and surprises ahead.

I loved this book. The writing and editing were done beautifully. Little Simon was precious and all the side characters were fleshed out nicely. I loved Snows sense of humor and him and Christopher were really sweet together. I definitely recommend this book. The reason I gave it 4 stars is mainly because of personal preference. Snow was a little to perfect, he didn't have any flaws. He never freaked out even when some serious stuff happened. Also, Christopher is a crime boss but he lets Snow into is life really easy. Personally I think that they both should have had more emotional walls to get through with each other. But I truly enjoyed this book and will be looking for more books from Davidson King in the future.

This cover is fierce and it was what instantly drew me towards this novel. The blurb sounded delightfully dark, too, and I do love me a dark story. Davidson King’s Snow Falling was a pretty good read, although this definitely isn’t a dark romance.

Snow protects a boy on the streets one day and finds himself at the mercy of the most dangerous crime boss in the country. But the enemies are stacking up against Snow, and it might help to have Christopher Manos at his back.

If you’re looking for darker suspense plot with a fluffier romance than I definitely think you’ve hit the jackpot here! Snow is a mystery. No one knows his real name or his past, and especially not Christopher Manos. Snow can’t quite trust Christopher’s interest in him, although Snow loves the man’s nephew.

It felt a bit insta for me.

Snow’s a cutie, for sure! Fun and lively, he’s got a dark past, but I loved his overall optimism. Not much gets this guy down. Now, Chris…I didn’t believe he was this big, feared crime boss. He didn’t seem all dangerous and take charge or that he really knew what to do with the situation.

The side plot, however, did keep my interest. This is where the dark comes in as well. The secondary characters added some extra humor and cuteness. Overall, the outside plot kept me invested even if I wasn’t as sold on the romance (or bad crime boss) portion.

3 stars.

Snow interrupts a couple of bullies trying to kidnap a little boy and stops them. The little boy, Simon or Eight as Snow nicknames him, lives with his uncle Christopher Manos who was left to raise the little boy after his sister died. Christopher Manos is the head of a crime family and a very powerful man. Snow is a homeless person who happened to be in the right place at the right time.

When Christopher insists on meeting the man who saved Simon, Snow is invited into his home and soon finds himself living with Chris and protecting Simon. Chris and Snow start off distrusting each other, but soon find themselves drawn to each other. As their relationship grows, so does the hatred of Roy Sokolov towards Snow.

This is a wonderful story of learning to trust, falling in love, a precious little boy and enough suspense to keep the story moving along nicely. Fantastic debut novel. I'm looking forward to reading much more from this author.

5 / 5 Stars

This is the debut novel from this author and she did an amazing job. The story is captivating, the dialogue deep and raw at times but not as dark as it first seems. The plot has action and is intertwined with mob themes which gives you another point of view in the life of a mob boss.

I have to admit I fell in love with the characters and Snow is difinitely my favorite. I liked his perspective on life, he doesn't let things pull him down but at the same time he doesn't act like if everything's cool, like if he were pretending. He has a strength that I'm jealous of and the ability to see through Christopher's real self, who is not a really heartless man but understands that some things need to be done no matter what.

It's a sure thing I'm going to pick whatever the author releases next and I hope we don't have to wait much, it was a pleasure reading her.

I felt confused reading this one. I thought that it was going to be set in a different world with maybe magic or something paranormal involved! I'm not sure why but I really didn't think it would be a contemporary style.

It was an ok story. I did feel like we didn't really learn anything about the MCs. Snow has his secrets and some come to light but I don't really know him as a person. Also we know nothing about Chris. I mean why is he single? Has he dated in the past? He has secrets too which makes it hard to get more than surface level.

I can't see what could possibly be in a book 2 or 3. I think I'm going to pass on this series.

This is very well written and keeps you engaged throughout the book. I read some reviews that stated they didn’t like how Chris (a crime boss) openly invites Snow into his home but it honestly didn’t bother me one bit. It made sense to me that Chris would feel a need to help someone who saved his nephew. The only problem I found with this book is I had trouble seeing the connection and attraction between the MCs. At times is seemed forced instead of naturally flowing. The intimate scenes seemed to be a bit of an afterthought and forced into the book. But overall I really enjoyed this book and definitely recommend it. I look forward to more from this author especially being that this is her debut novel.

Intrigue, suspense, action! Ah, this lovely story has it all, including love.
Ok, so let me tell you that after the first 2% of reading, my heart was breaking a little bit. Yeah, that good!
Snow Falling captivated me to the point of ignoring important things just to get to the next part of it! "I dreamt about falling snow" became reality for me when I didn't sleep to read Snow Falling.
I always love it when a story transports me in it, almost turning my head from one character to the other, to follow their conversation and Davidson King managed to write just like that!

Snow Falling by Davidson King will definitely be a re-read for me!

5-stars for Davidson King's Snow Falling,

I recommend this novel to readers who enjoy hot bedroom scenes mixed with the setting of crime lords and turf wars. Though the characters are typical, they do come through with a well developed personality. I found myself sitting on the edge of my seat many times. If you don't like violence, this book is not for you.

The story is well written and delivers what you would expect from a M/M romance of this type. Though there are no major divergences from the usual, the story touched my heart.

This is a great first novel. Snow is truly charming with just enough sass, which is actually extremely hard to pull off. Christopher is also an engaging character without losing his gangster cred. This author excels at character-building. The secondary characters are interesting and fun, as well. Dialogue is also a strength in this book. It is well-written and witty when appropriate, direct when needed. The plot is fast-paced, with some good twists and tension. The writing is polished, with exceptional copy editing, which gives it a very professional finish. I’d be happy to read more from this author.

I was super excited about this debut book from Davidson King. For a right out of the gate author I was beyond happy with this book. The story grips you from go and is so well written that you are involved and invested in the characters from the start. No slow build or stumbling along in this story. It's fast paced and sexy. And dare I say sweet. What doesn't hit you right away is that this is a book about acceptance. To accept both the light and dark in a person and loving them for it. This book hits on all the fronts, keeps you intrigued and ready to see how they can make it to the end.

I loved everything about this book from the cover and name to the MCs and secondary characters. This book is intense, dark at times as expected from a mob boss but oh so sweet at times which is quite unexpected. Snow is funny, smart, sassy and one of those people that brings joy to those around him. Christopher is strong, loyal and loving. And together they are so perfect for each other and their chemistry is sizzling . Simon is such a cute character. The plot is interesting, intriguing, fast paced and will keep you hooked from the first chapter. I look foward to Ms.King's next novel.

I bought this unknowingly that it was authors first book, so I must have stumbled across it. I then read reviews that were not favorable, but I totally loved this book. Congrats to author on first published work & those so critical, it's fiction no it's not perfect but I enjoyed it immensely & yes in some areas I wanted a little more but I still loved it! Snow was a sweet character & Chris not the hardened Mafia boss everyone looks for, but I think they were perfect together ?Looking forward to more & will continue to read author.

I was not crazy about Christopher in this story, but that didn't ruin the whole book for me. The writing was good and on point and didn't drag. The plot line was interesting, there was some mystery, some action. I wish the story was longer so that we could get more back story on both main characters. I really liked Snow's characters, so strong and resilient in his situation.
All in all, it was a great read.
Oh, and the cover is gorgeous.

Men working outside the law are not normally men I would admire...But Christopher has become the exception. For a debut novel I am really impressed with this author. The plot is well thought out, the characters multi-dimensional and the love story compelling. Plus the dialogue is right and we'll written. Simon and Snow are fun to spend time with even though they've faces pain in their pasts. Loved it!

What an absolute delight this debut novel from Davidson King is. Just the right amount of suspense to keep me on the edge of my seat. The emotional and physical connection between Snow and Christopher is perfect.

There are also so many wonderful secondary characters. This story flowed so well. Once I began I couldn't put it down. I look forward to many more treasures from Davidson King.

This was a really good book, especially for a debut. I liked the characters, sometimes a little too much. For being a crime boss, Christopher was awfully nice. The characters could have used a little more depth. But overall, I enjoyed it. I’m looking forward to reading more from this author.

Great book. Good character development, world building and grammar. Loved Snow- I personally enjoy the intensity of life-and -death existences and angst to spice up my romance reads. Hot and steamy scenes in just the right places. And the cover is perfect. Looking forward to your future books!

This was such an awesome story. I'm usually pretty much glued to my usual authors but decided to take a chance on something new. I was not disappointed! For a debut novel, this was amazing. Loved the dynamic between the two MC's. Snarky, amusing, romantic....a nice trifecta. Look toward to more from this author.

I thoroughly loved reading this book! The characters were developed so well and the plot was exciting throughout. The writing was flawless and smooth. I normally shy away from heros whose characer is questionable, so I passed this book by when it first came out. Instead I ended up reading Davidson King's second book, Hug It Out, first. I was so intrigued by Christopher and Snow when they showed up in Riordan and Teddy's story that I decided to give it a go. I was not disappointed. It was impossible not to fall in love with Christopher. I look forward to future books by Davidson King.

This was a wonderful story. Well written and edited. A great first attempt from this author. I won't tell you what the story was about, I hate when reviewers think that is a review. I will say the characters were well developed and made since. It had a little bit of everything but was well balanced. Would recommend.

Excellent for a debut. Towards the end it wavered into getting cheese, but redeemed itself enough. Lacing was good, with fun characters. Lighthearted considering the subject matter, it didn’t shy away from showing mobsters in action. I would read more by this author.

The story is engaging, the characters are well developed, and I personally found great healing in the conclusion. It's a cinderfella story, full of romance and pain, determination and despair, with a HEA ending and no cliffhanger. I'd LOVE to see a sequel..

My biggest upset after reading this book, was finding out that this author does not have any more books at this time! I loved the characters, the action, how well the author brought the two together. I'm looking forward to more books from this author!

Lots of plot twists, believable characters, a very creative story that is sexy without spending 75% of the time in sexual positions. A full gamut of emotions are invited in a well written story of love, loss and the tribulations in between. Snow is the ultimate anti-hero. Chris is a bad boy with a warm heart. This book will be read more than once by myself and you(?). A must see for any m/m library. J

The poor reviews already posted cover most of my complaints about the book, but the concept has tremendous potential. Snow is the little urchin from the streets, living by his wits, Christopher is the big mob boss. They are brought together by chance, and they battle their way to the HEA. Unfortunately, many of the events and interactions felt cheesy, and not in a good way.

Good plot, pacing and characters. It was honest about the often dark world and situations the characters live in, but isn’t hopeless. Striking imagery. The romance was believable and crazy/charming. I liked them.

I read this book blurb unseen, attracted by the cover and a friend's recommendation. An interesting discussion ensued, as the things that I found lacking in the tale were exactly those that had attracted her to the tale.

It is a pretty clean tale, without typos and with decent grammar, but for a tale that included not one but two mob bosses, there was nothing mob-ish in it at all. One lead sounded like a Greek mob boss, but seemed to be upstanding and without even one mention of his business activities, though we did see an example of his brand of 'persuasion' and one of punishment, which considering the type, was rather merciful. The other was a Russian mobster, but he never seemed like a threat and seemed too happy to be conciliatory without making conditions of his own with the other.

The leads didn't fall in love and into bed for me, but rather found their way into bed in a 'we're not really talking about it, but it has to happen, as this is a romance novel, and so it's expected' kind of way. The sex scenes were tender and few, and I wondered if the author didn't go there because she'd not done her research. I didn't see, read or feel a connection between them, not an emotional one at least, though they did seem to like each other on immediate acquaintance and fell into trusting each other a lot too easily for a street urchin and mob boss.

And, we never get told what Snow did on the streets to fend for himself, but he spent from 17-22 there, and sex work didn't come into it (other than maybe one instance? I can't really remember, as all was so rushed).

The leads don't spend a lot of time together and there's not a lot of relationship building. There's a ton of side characters in this who are irrelevant, and who don't get explored or put to work, really. And, Snow has not one but two TSTL moments that were kind of unforgivable, given his past (bigged up, but not really exorcised) and who he was running from.

One character, a housekeeper type, was permitted to deliver a 'but it's not the done thing' talk to a 12yo boy who wanted to dress as Lady Gaga, and the Greek mob boss took her to task, with a good message, the right one, which was backed up by Snow's recount of his own childhood, but it was such a plant to be able to deliver a positive 'gender' message that it had me rolling my eyes at the clumsiness.

The book has 2/3 authors whose input DK is thankful for, but I'm not sure of said input, as there were too many instances of 'not going there' in this tale. It did have potential, but it needed depth, it needed relationship building, it needed detail, it needed the leads to spend time together and actually get to know each other, rather than skip 2 weeks or so at a time. The ending, a year after the drama ends, is the start of a HEA, but was yet another skip in time - this time 52 weeks instead of 2 weeks.

Glad this was a KU title, but as a paid one, it's not horrendously priced.

Effective character development and a great arc with twists and turns a plenty. Really loved the character of Snow.
The only difficulty I had was dealing with the ease with which a marginalized person can disappear and never cause a ripple! Shades of Three Billboards. Gangland Love is strange.

This book is definitely worth reading! After being on the run for several years, Snow rescues a little boy, and finds himself a HEA. The conversations between he and Simon were so funny! Although the story might have moved a little quickly, I still enjoyed it. I look forward to the author's next book.
