It is obvious from the beginning that Eden/Kate is running for her life and the life of her young son, Micah/Jack. Ms. Hunter does wonderful conveying the terrified and hopelessness that Eden finds herself in when she arrives reluctantly at Summer Harbor. It is only as the story unfolds that we find out the complete story. I enjoyed piecing the bits Eden/Kate let others know. I must admit that there are twists that I did not see coming until it was revealed.

I’m hoping that Beau is just the first of the Callahan brothers to get his story. He is the strong male leader of the family, but Miss Trudy is quite the force to be reckoned with crutches. He is admirable though not perfect. I like that the author allowed him to be normal with normal feelings and reactions. However, I did picture him as a young John Wayne. I also like the family dynamics between these brothers. They love, they fight but in the end they stand together.

I can hardly wait for Riley’s story now even though the book leaves him in Afghanistan, I know his heart is in Summer Harbor. Besides Zac needing a HEA, so does Aunt Trudy. I loved that she had an admirer, it lighten the story up some.

Most of all I appreciate the Christian aspects of this story without it being preachy. It is a well written book with wonderful main and supporting characters that remind us that God is still in control even when it seems the devil himself is after us.

Falling Like Snowflakes isn't your typical Denise Hunter romance. She does so much more with this story by weaving in a little bit of action and a lot of suspense. Eden's story isn't an easy one to read because of some of what life has dealt her but her perseverance was amazing. I love it when an author can take a hard situation in life and portray it in such an open and honest way without making the book too graphic. I was able to connect with Eden's hardships but at the same time didn't feel like they were the main focal point of the story and I appreciated that. I also loved getting to know her son Micah and watching him blossom under love and support.

Of course I also loved the love story aspect of the book. This book made me feel such a mixture of emotions that I found myself angry, sad, and giggly at different times in the book. But in the end the love story was still the main theme of the book and like Hunter delivered! Normally I'm not big on Christmas themes but I got some good laughs out of mistletoe placement in this book! I also appreciated how Eden and Beau had to work to get through things before they could fall for each other. I like books that seem realistic even while being fiction because the characters come across as people I might actually be friends with and not just far off fake people that get everything perfect the first time.

With Denise Hunter's books I'm realizing that the latest one I've read is always my favorite! Falling like Snowflakes had such a great balance of love and suspense that I cannot wait to read book two in the series and I have no doubt it will then become my new favorite. Anytime an author can touch so many of my emotions and give me a happy ending is a good day. I also love authors who weave characters from previous series into the next one. It was a joy to see characters from Married 'til Monday in this one.

I received an advanced copy of this book through NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

What is your definition of "safe"? Life without fear? Eden is hoping that if she runs fast enough, far enough, she can outwit the persons who want to kill her and her son, Micah, who witnessed his father's murder. After a lifetime of fear and being under others' thumbs, she is determined to control the variables of her life and to finally feel "safe." A series of events - a blown engine, a stolen duffle bag, an unexpected romance - all conspire to unravel her carefully constructed plans.

What I liked about this book was the chemistry between Eden (known as "Kate") and Beau. Emotionally and physically, they were tenderly and almost unwillingly drawn to each other. Also, the tension created by Eden's worries and flashback-style memories made her danger feel very real. I found my heart racing, and as Eden and Micah fled from the murderous Mr. Langley, I actually heard myself urge Micah to "HUSH!" out loud. Another strength of this book was that the author didn't immediately bring things to a sugar-coated sweet ending after Kate and Micah's rescue. Denise Hunter spent time working through Kate's fears and dealing with her need to control her life. Beau also grows as he moves beyond his initial physical attraction to "Kate" and gives her room to examine their relationship, even when it means watching her drive away to start a new life at an unknown location. They both have to turn their fears over to the Lord and trust His leading for their futures.

Denise Hunter is a great author, and though I read this first book of the Summer Harbor series second, it didn't spoil the enjoyment of it at all. I am already looking forward to the third and final volume being published this September. If you like clean romance and intriguing mysteries, this series is for you!

When I picked up Falling Like Snowflakes by Denise Hunter, a new-to-me author, I didn’t bring expectations for more than a nice enough holiday romance with a little angst but not necessarily a lot of meat on its bones. That is, I try not to step right in demanding the world from an author I’ve never read before.

However, Snowflakes had me engrossed in a way I didn’t suppose I would be and faster than I would’ve guessed. The author has a down-to-earth style, and the novel’s suspense elements unfold gradually, unpretentiously, so I was compelled to pay close attention and remained intrigued during the process. The characters are believably flawed—particularly Eden and Beau, whose romance I’d place on the steamier side of Christian Fiction—and some touching scenes with Eden’s son Micah had me thinking, “Okay, little guy, why don’t you just go ahead and break my heart?” Made me wish I could jump in the book and hug him.

There were some moments when I wanted to tell the characters, “Okay, you all know full well what this is by now, so just call it what it is, for everyone’s sakes.” But, hey, we human beings don’t always “call it what it is” right away in real life, either. Eden’s and Beau’s romantic reactions to one another become somewhat redundant in places, and the language regarding being trapped versus being free is repetitive toward the end of the novel. Also, an instance of the story’s danger has, perhaps, too convenient of a setup, as it seems the characters on both sides would’ve known better about what choices to make in that situation.

Still, this novel about love, fear, faith, and healing had me all in and has my recommendation for fans of ChristFic romance with suspense woven in.

Book Description "When the Christmas season finds Eden in Summer Harbor, Maine, she's on the run from trouble. Romance is the last thing on her mind. Riding in a bus in the thickly falling snow, Eden Davis wonders how it ever came to this-fleeing under cover of night with young Micah sleeping fitfully in the seat beside her. When a winter storm strands them in Summer Harbor, Maine, Eden wonders if what might have been the end could be a new beginning. Beau Callahan is a habitual problem-solver. He's recently left his job with the sheriff's department to take over the family Christmas tree farm to save it from insolvency. But he's flummoxed. During the busiest season of the year, he's shorthanded. Then Eden shows up looking for work, and Beau believes he's been rescued. Competent, smart, and beautiful, Eden's also guarded and quiet. He soon figures out she comes with a boatload of secrets. But Beau can't seem to help himself from falling for her. As Christmas Eve approaches, Beau discovers he'll do anything to keep Eden safe. But who's going to protect his heart from a woman who can't seem to trust again?"

I have had an opportunity to read and review several books by Denise Hunter and I have enjoyed each one that I have read. But I have to say that Falling Like Snowflakes is her best one yet! I loved it! It had all of the great elements you will find in all of Denise Hunters books: real, believable characters, great setting, faith, romance, and an interesting story. Falling Like Snowflakes adds also adds in an element of mystery which I think took it from a good story to a great one. I also liked the tie in to Married til Monday (another Denise Hunter book) and The Inn at Ocean's Edge (by Colleen Coble.) The author also has a great way of tying up the story without giving a resolution that shows an immediate happy ever after, making the ending more like real life. I am excited that this is the first in a series and can't wait to see what the other books bring!

Eden Martelli finds herself on the run from some dangerous people. She's headed for a cabin with her five-year-old son (who has stopped talking because of a trauma) where she knows they’ll be safe. She's taken every precaution to keep them safe, but then her car breaks down in Summer Harbor. It's a major repair so they must stay put through Christmas. Needing money, she begins to look for work. Enter Beau Callahan. Beau gave up being a deputy sheriff to work the family Christmas tree farm. He's going to need some help with his aunt who's returning home from the hospital and needs full-time assistance. He comes across Eden and her son and offers her the job of caring for his outspoken aunt, along with cooking and cleaning duties. The attraction is strong but both have reasons for not pursuing anything further. Beau knows from experience Eden's hiding something. He wants to keep her safe from whatever she's running from but it's hard when she won't trust him, even with her real name. What will happen when the truth is finally revealed?

I loved this story and fell in love with the Callahan brothers! You first meet Beau Callahan in Married 'til Monday (another excellent story) so I was anxious to get to know him better. Summer Harbor is the kind of town where you immediately feel right at home. The folks are warm and welcoming and make you want to pick-up and move there. I thoroughly enjoyed the banter between the brothers. It’s rough and playful but you totally get that they love each other deeply. The story had a great balance of humorous and serious moments. Beau’s aunt is a riot and she definitely spiced things up with her feisty personality. The author dealt with some difficult issues and I appreciated the way she handled them. The romantic tension between Eden and Beau was fraught with anticipation as only Denise Hunter can do, especially in the beginning, because Beau is dating someone else. (Gasp!) The reader finds out that though we plan our ways the Lord directs our steps. It was an encouraging reminder to see how the Lord cared for Eden. This was a great start to the Summer Harbor series and one I would definitely recommend! The cover is beautifully done and the title goes very well with the story. I am now anxiously waiting for Zac’s story in “The Goodbye Bride”. Although there is a chill in the air in Summer Harbor, ‘Falling Like Snowflakes’ is sure to warm your heart.

A couple favorite quotes:
Eden realized what Beau had been holding back from her yesterday morning. His aunt was going to be a challenge. Eden was beginning to wonder if she should have asked for hazard pay.

"Merciful heavens, what's this supposed to be?" "Aunt Trudy," Beau said. "There's enough sage in here to cure a decade's worth of hot flashes." Sage. So that's what it was. Kate's cheeks flushed. "I'm so sorry. I didn't have a recipe - I didn't want to use your computer without asking." "Have at it," Riley said, giving one final hack. "Please."

Falling Like Snowflakes kicks off Ms. Hunter’s most recent series based in Summer Harbor, Maine. Beau Callahan is the quintessential law enforcement officer, until his father’s death leads him to take over the family’s Christmas tree farm. When Eden Martelli and her five-year-old son come to the town, with few resources and even less of a back story, Beau’s innate senses honed in the Summer Harbor sheriff’s office kick into high gear. Eden’s short-lived life on the run leads her to the Callahan’s door, where she finds herself as the temporary caregiver of Beau’s aunt and the family’s home. After years of abuse, Eden rediscovers herself and the peace of the Christmas season among the Callahan family and their neighbors. However, her past soon comes knocking, forcing Eden to choose between finally trusting Beau or losing everything she holds dear.

Fans of Ms. Hunter’s earlier works, especially Married ‘til Monday, will definitely recognize the Callahan family, their Christmas tree farm, and the town of Summer Harbor. In addition, the Summer Harbor series offers additional connections between characters and locations included in Colleen Coble’s Sunset Cove series. It’s wonderful to see evidence of the authors’ friendship in their novels!

Overall, I really enjoyed reading Falling Like Snowflakes. While my husband would claim that the general premise on the back cover sounds like a Hallmark movie, I thought that Ms. Hunter did an excellent job of creating complex characters, an intriguing plot, and a captivating town filled with unlimited possibilities for future novels. Though I am not typically a fan of novels that incorporate themes related to domestic abuse and violent relationships, I thought that Ms. Hunter did a masterful job of presenting it as part of the story’s conflict. After reading, Falling Like Snowflakes, I am definitely looking forward to future novels in this series, including The Goodbye Bride (March 2016).

Very good story!

It’s very well-written. Dialogues are great. Very believable characters.

I did not like the cover very much, though. It's kind of suggestive.

For some reason I got a bit more engaged to Beau than to Eden. I could not feel for her no matter how much I wanted to.

I must say the plot was kind of predictable. I found little surprises in it. I’m not saying you need radical twists through it all but almost everything was completely expected.

I’ve also seen a pattern in how the story ends in the three books I’ve read by this author. I’m not sure It’s always like that but the ones I’ve read had very similar things. It’d be interesting to see a change in that.

I don’t agree with some decisions Beau made and the motives behind them but he did what he thought best, of course.

I really liked Zac and Riley and enjoyed the relationship Callahan brothers have. You can truly see they care for each other.

The story obviously tried to deal with fear and trust issues but I think it could be more developed. We all struggle with this at some point and the story could have dug deeper in it.

The best things about the book for me are how easy it is to read and the camaraderie between Callahans.

The cover surely doesn’t capture the really wonderful tale written inside. I hope the sequel coming out in 2016 has a better cover that conveys the story more accurately. Inside is a story that includes themes like overcoming fear, trusting, relying on the Lord and romance to name a few. The main characters are a woman and her very young son who change their names and looks in order to stay safe and alive. When her car breaks down, she walks into a small town looking for a job. While she is eating, she decides to go to the restroom and while in the restroom her bag is stolen. Now she has neither money nor any belongings, but she’s alive. She is not sure how safe she is after witnessing a murder.
If I tell you her name that would give away a little of the book so I will wait for you readers to discover who she is when you open the book. The other characters are a family named Callahan who have endured heartache and are running a couple of businesses, with one being a Christmas tree company started by the father, who the family lost a year ago. Three brothers, who are all bachelors, have an aunt coming home from the hospital in a few days and needing a caretaker. While she may have a rough side to her, she sure is a pistol making me laugh at times when reading.
Through various happenings the woman and her young son come to the Christmas tree place looking for a job exactly when the bachelors need someone to look after their spitfire of an aunt. There is palpable tension I felt when reading the book as it becomes apparent that someone is out to eliminate the woman and her son as they can identify the men who committed murder. The focus is on Beau, who is the oldest of the three brothers and who runs the tree farm. Zac owns and runs a restaurant followed by Riley who is looking to mature outside the “little brother” box. The location of the story is in Maine and the family loves Patriots football. While I don’t care for the Pats, I didn’t hold that against the author. 

"Falling Like Snowflakes" is Denise Hunter's newest novel, and is the first book in a new series, leaving Chapel Springs for Summer Harbor, Maine, but keeping characters from her previous series and adding characters from Colleen Coble's latest series. This is complicated, but the book also works beautifully as a stand-alone.

Eden Martelli and her five year old son on the run from the murderer of her ex-husband and the double--crossing lawmen that were supposed to keep her safe. She has this down to a science: arrive in a new place, switch names, never give away background information, don't get in touch with family or anyone, and don't stay in one place too long or get connected to anyone. Hope for justice.

Beau Callahan works at his family's Christmas tree farm, and is dating his youngest brother's best friend. When Eden (who is calling herself Kate) shows up at his doorstep looking for work because her car broke down, his compassionate heart won't let him turn her down. When sparks start flying with Eden/Kate, he knows all he wants is to protect her. But will she ever be able to trust someone again?

I really liked this novel. The plotline and characters were fantastic. I really like this author, and I was not disappointed with this new series. I would recommend it. It was a little intense in some flashbacks and at the climax of the story, but it wasn't overdone and I thought this book was excellent.

Thank you so much to Thomas Nelson and Net Galley for providing me with an e-copy of this book to read and review. All opinions are my own and were not required to be positive.

Falling Like Snowflakes is the first book in Hunter's new Summer Harbor series, which focuses on the Callahan brothers. (These brothers were introduced in Married 'Til Monday, the final book in Hunter's Chapel Springs series, but you do not need to have read that book to jump into this series.)

I've come to expect sizzling (yet chaste) romance from Hunter, and Falling Like Snowflakes does not disappoint! There's obviously a spark between Beau and Eden from their first meeting, and their relationship has a slow burn quality to it that I appreciated. I loved both Beau and Eden as characters, and I definitely pulled for their happily ever after!

Falling Like Snowflakes also features an intriguing suspense thread. Eden is running from someone—the reader doesn't know who or why at first—and as her story is slowly revealed, the tension mounts. While everything is resolved rather easily, I still enjoyed the plot line.

This book has that "just one more chapter" quality that keeps you reading late into the night. Once again, Denise Hunter has written a captivating inspirational romance that is definitely worth reading. While it won't surpass The Convenient Groom or Dancing with Fireflies as my favorite Hunter novel, it's very, very good.

Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from the publisher through the BookLook blogger program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

Book One in an exciting new series about the Callahan brothers. Yay -- I love family series -- especially when they involve intriguing and exasperating heroes like the Callahans.

Falling Like Snowflakes is Beau's turn to shine...though I'll admit that he's a bit of a dunderhead in the beginning of the book. Still very appealing, mind, but he does give a reader a few conniption fits until he figures things out. And when he does...Oh. My. Cue the fans. Haul out the fainting couch. Gotta love a man with a singular purpose, especially when it involves the woman he loves. And, of course, that leads to a scrumptious kissing scene that will not only curl your toes but your hair as well! It's the layers of emotion Hunter conveys in that scene -- a wealth of tenderness that made me want to weep. Truly exquisite.

There's an interesting edge to this contemporary romance with Eden being dogged by a danger the author reveals by slow degrees until we finally have the full story. Definitely induces a page-turning frenzy!

And the emotional angst is just as compelling. Eden hasn't had an easy time of it. I admired her tenacity -- her sheer will to overcome every obstacle strewn in her path. She craves independence and balks at the protective restraints Beau would place on her. They both have a lot to learn about each other and the true path to freedom. A stellar beginning to Denise Hunter's new Summer Harbor series.

Falling like Snowflakes, by Denise Hunter, is a thrilling romance that will make your heart pound! I fell in love with the cover and couldn't wait to begin reading! Eden, a young mother, and her son are desperately on the run, but why? And from whom? As fate would have it, their car breaks down in the snow filled town of Summer Harbor, Maine, and if matters couldn't get worse, Eden's purse is also stolen and they're left stranded and terrified. Don't despair, dear reader, as there are hunky young men (brothers!) that live in Summer Harbor. They run a Christmas tree farm and have just discovered they need a caretaker for their irritable (but endearing) aunt who's recently injured her leg. See where this is going? But don't even begin to think this story is predictable- not for a second. A dark past haunts Eden that has caused her son to become mute. There's also the tiny issue of our very attractive leading man, Beau, already having a girlfriend. Whoa. All I will tell you is that Falling Like Snowflakes is full of mystery and pulse racing danger (as well as memorable moments under the mistletoe). Tenderness, passion, bravery and humor are all wrapped up in this fabulously romantic book! I absolutely loved it.

Falling Like Snowflakes – Denise Hunter

Denise Hunter is one of my favorite contemporary authors. I am immediately sucked into her stories. I am usually hooked by page 2, which is quite an accomplishment considering I am ADD when it comes to books…and focus!
Falling Like Snowflakes is the first book in her new series – Summer Harbor. However, there is a link to her last book Married ‘til Monday. (I highly recommend that whole series, too!)
Eden, otherwise known as Kate, is on the run with her son, Micah, otherwise known as Jack. They are running from something horrible towards safely. Her life is hard! Circumstances work out for her as she is given a job helping at the Callahan household. It gets a little sticky with Beau, Zac, and Riley. Let’s not forget about the somewhat grumpy Aunt Trudy. You see one of these Callahan brothers has a girlfriend, but one of the other brothers secretly feels something towards Kate. It’s complicated! OH….but it is a good complicated!
Kate is trapped by fear. She is somewhat trapped by circumstance.
I finished this book in just a couple of days. The days were extremely busy, but I managed to procrastinate on several other things to finish this great story!
Buy this book!

In Falling Like Snowflakes which is book one in the Summer Harbor series, we meet the three Callahan brothers. If you read Married Till Monday you met Beau when Ryan went to visit him. They even hinted to the issue of Beau dating his bothers best friend.

Beau is the oldest of the Callahans and feels the responsibility of taking care of them. He has left his job on the sheriff’s department to run the Christmas Tree farm. Beau hires Eden to help out around the house and with his feisty aunt who is recovering from a fall. I loved the secondary storyline with his aunt and the sheriff; it was cute.
Beau realizes that Eden is guarded about her past and is concerned that he has her living with his girlfriend. The girlfriend is his brother’s best friend. Then enters Eden who starts making Beau feel things he shouldn’t.

Eden is on the run with her son when her car breaks down in Summer Harbor. This causes her to stay over the holidays. Hunter reveals Eden’s past little by little until her backstory is exposed and the danger she and her son are in.

There is secondary story of Ryan, the youngest Callahan and his feelings for a girl while she is dating his brother.
The mistletoe plays a fun part in the story.

Falling Like Snowflakes, the first book in Denise Hunter's new Summer Harbor series, pulled me in and captured my attention from start to finish. What else is new with a Denise Hunter novel, right? Eden's circumstances in the opening scenes and her absolute dedication to her son Micah tugged at my heartstrings. I felt such empathy for her and found myself cheering them on from the get-go.
The Callahan brothers made a brief appearance in the Chapel Springs series, so it was fun to 'see' Beau again, this time playing the hero's role. I wasn't crazy about the fact that he dated someone else for most of the book when his attraction to Eden was so obvious, but I applaud the author for constructing a plausible will-they/won't-they love triangle. That's not often done in Christian fiction and it definitely kept me swiping the virtual pages. As the book blurb states, 'he's impossible to resist'. Swoon!
There's also an element of suspense in this novel which I thoroughly enjoyed. Some might find it predictable, but I feel it added a layer of depth to the story line and gave Beau an opportunity to be the ultimate problem-solver. Five stars, Denise Hunter, for crafting another satisfying romance. I can't wait to read more from Summer Harbor.

This was a good Christmas Christian contemporary drama. I read a book similar to this not too long ago by a favorite author and it was hard not too compare. This one had a slow build and you knew exactly where it was going. I never felt anxious, it was a good setting and I liked the two main charters, I liked the dynamics in the story. I wish we could have felt a little more for all the great side characters, there was some missed potential there. I ended up thinking the aunt was not a person I would want to be around and I don't think that was what the author was going for. There is some good tension and Hunter knows how to write a kiss;] It was good, only a little bit about God throughout, not a preachy book. There is some references to rape and abuse that makes this an adult read.

Denise Hunter is fast becoming one of my favorite authors, I loved her entire Chapel Springs series, and this first book in her new Summer Harbor series most definitely did not disappoint! One of the things that I loved the most about this book was the suspense, I was not expecting that but it was awesome and just might make this my favorite of her books! The characters were great, I loved Eden, her son Micah, Beau and his brothers as well as Aunt Trudy. Beau was definitely a great hero though I admit there were times I felt very frustrated with him, but overall I liked him a lot. I also loved that Beau's cousin Abby (from Married Til Monday) appeared in this book, it was really nice to get updated on her and Ryan's life, and it came in very handy that she just happened to be a private investigator! :)
I don't really what else to say without accidentally giving something away but I absolutely loved this book and highly recommend to all fans of Christian contemporary romance with a thread of suspense!

I have really come to love Denise Hunter's books...especially when she chooses a family and writes about all of them! It's like revisiting old friends each and every time a new book comes out. The little bit I got to know about the Callahan brothers intrigued me, and I cannot wait to delve into each of their lives.

Falling Like Snowflakes focused on the oldest Callahan, Beau. I like him because he reminds me a lot of me. He's a problem solver, of everyone else's problems but his own. His flaws and faults are endearing. Eden's story is intriguing. I cannot imaging running and looking over my shoulder. I would be a hot mess. She handles it like a champ, for the most part. While I loved the main characters and supporting characters (Beau's brothers Zac and Riley, Paige, and the Callahan's ornery aunt Trudy), there was something missing from the story. I can't quite put my finger on it. The romance and suspense added to the plot, but I might have been looking for more depth in the characters.

The spiritual aspect of the story was spot on. Denise Hunter excels at taking a story and weaving in the spiritual message she wants to get across to readers. In this case, Eden's dad sums it up when he says, "When you can't trust others, and you can't trust yourself, you can always trust God. He'll carry you through whatever comes your way." Watching Eden and Beau come to this realization was beautiful.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I cannot wait to delve further into life in Summer Harbor with the swoon worthy Callahan brothers.

This novel kept me interested and engaged throughout the story. The author did a good job of getting the reader to feel a connection with the characters. I bought this during a vacation and it was a great beach read. I love the story so much that I am no looking at purchasing the next two novels in this series, as that author did a great job of making you want to know more about each of the Callahan brothers.

Content:
Romance: Clean/ PG rated - just kissing.
Language: None
Violence: Mild - some action packed moments, but nothing was too gruesome or gory.
Religious: Some references to faith, but it was not overbearing
Series: Book one in the Summer Harbor series - leaves you wanting to read the next one!

What I liked: Meandering through the love-triangle, family drama, and secrets in Falling like Snowflakes is the perfect way to spend an afternoon!
Beau is a terrific character. He’s a protector and constantly struggles with allowing those around him to live their own lives. Eden, on the other hand, comes from smothering relationships and needs freedom. Watching her fight against her attraction is quite entertaining!
Falling like Snowflakes paints an amazing picture of how we can easily allow fear to manipulate our lives. It’s a delightful way to learn a lesson! :)
What I didn’t like: It’s not so much a “Christmas Read” as a winter read that includes some Christmas celebrations.

Falling Like Snowflakes by Denise Hunter finds Eden Martelli and her son on the run when their car breaks down in Summer Harbor, a small town in Maine. In need of cash to fix her car, Eden applies for a job at a Christmas tree farm and ends up working for Beau Callahan. She uses a fake identity to try to keep herself and her son safe from the people who are trying to kill them, but in the process of working on the farm she finds herself falling for Beau.

I was excited to read this book because I have enjoyed other books by Hunter, and I love a good Christmas-y book. This book did not disappoint on the festive front. Eden spends the entire holiday season with the Callahans and the descriptions of the small town events and celebrations reminded me of holidays that I have spent with my own family. I enjoy the settings and descriptions in Hunter's books, and she always keeps the plot flowing nicely, which made this book fun to read.

I will say that to me, the romance story in this book didn't grab my attention as much as other books of Hunter's. I felt like the main characters didn't really get to know each other enough before they were having feelings toward each other, and there was more of a focus on physical attraction. I think this is partly because the plot necessitates Eden hiding her identity, but the relationship between Beau and Eden seemed too superficial to me. I like when characters have quirks and flaws, and fall in love anyway. Everyone in this book seemed too noble and faultless, and they didn't have enough personality. I couldn't relate to these characters as much as in some of Hunter's other books.

I also wasn't crazy about the way the word "Lord" was used by two of the characters, and in the last chapter Beau swats Eden on the behind in a playful manner, which is an interaction that I think isn't appropriate between two unmarried characters in a Christian book. Between that and some of Hunter's physically-focused descriptions of kisses, I would recommend caution especially for younger female readers.

This book was fun to read close to the holidays, and Hunter's plots always make me want to keep reading, but this one wasn't my favorite. If you want an easy book to read over Christmas, this one was just okay, and I might recommend checking out some of Hunter's other titles first.

On the run from those who are supposed to protect her, Eden Martelli is trying to reach rural Maine. Her young son is dozing in the backseat when her car breaks down in Summer Harbor. After the unfortunate loss of all of her funds, Eden is literally stranded. She has no choice but to remain in Summer Harbor for the foreseeable future. With the holidays approaching, Eden knows she must find work, any kind of work, that will keep her son and herself from sleeping on a park bench in the cold fall temperatures. Beau Callahan is a former sheriff's deputy who is working full time on the family's Christmas tree farm after the death of his parents. When his very independent aunt suffers a fall that will require someone to stay with her to ensure that she won't overdo, Beau doesn't know what to do. He discovers a solution to the problem when Eden shows up looking for work at the same time that his aunt is released from the hospital - Eden gets a place to stay and a job while his aunt gets the help she needs. But his years in law enforcement have him sensing that Eden, or "Kate" as she calls herself, is hiding something. Love is the last thing Eden wants. Yet she finds herself being drawn into the Callahan family and fiercely attracted to Beau. But will her past ruin any chances that they may have together?

I think that I've loved just about every single one of Denise Hunter's books that I've read. This one was no exception. It's fun, sweet, and full of endearing characters. It was a perfect mix of pure fluff along with great storytelling.

I found that Eden's character was stronger than she first appears. I had suspicions about why she was on the run, and some of them proved to be right. Beau was a character I didn't really connect with. I'm not sure why. I liked him. But I don't know. I just didn't connect with him like I have with other characters in the past. Of all of the characters, my favorite was his aunt. She was delightful and spunky and I just adored her. I do look forward to seeing more of both her and Beau and Eden in the next books in the series. I'm also looking forward to reading the stories of the other Callahan brothers.

I received this book for free from the Booklook Blogger Program for the purpose of reviewing. My thoughts and opinions are my own.

This novel is an enjoyable romance set in the snowy winter of Summer Harbor, Maine.

Hunter did a good job of creating a tense setting as the novel opens. Eden and her young son are running from danger when they become stranded in Summer Harbor. A broken down car and a stolen wallet leave Eden desperately in need of a job. To the rescue is Beau, manager of the Callihan family Christmas tree farm. He needs someone to take care of his crotchety aunt as she recovers from a broken leg.

That is the beginning of a romance fraught with misunderstanding and turmoil. I like how Hunter revealed bit by bit the tragedy that sent Eden on the run. Eden is a very believable character. Mistreated and betrayed, she is not ready to trust a man again. Beau is a sweet fellow who falls head over heels for her. The only trouble is – he already has a girlfriend.

There are plenty of relationship struggles in this novel. The Callihan brothers are an opinionated bunch and Beau's controlling attitude is not always appreciated. The Christian influence is strong in the novel and even though the brothers fuss, they ultimately forgive and let love rule their relationship. The relationship between Eden and her son is precious. The young boy was traumatized by the tragedy and it was good to see the possibility of real healing for him.

There is a bit of suspense in this novel too. Beau thinks he can protect Eden from harm but he under estimates the power of the bad guy. I thought the suspense scene a tad bit unrealistic but I still enjoyed that aspect of the novel.

Something fun in this novel is the appearance of characters from another author's novel. Hunter and Colleen Coble are friends. Since Coble was writing a series taking place in Maine, the two have put their towns close to each other and share a few characters.

One of my requirements for an excellent novel is that it not only entertains but informs as well. I was hoping I would learn a little about tree farming but that was not to be.

I recommend this novel to those who like a well crafted romance with a little suspense thrown in. Get a cup of hot coffee or tea, though, as it is awfully cold in Maine around Christmas time.

I received a complimentary egalley of this book from the publisher for the purpose of an independent and honest review.

I’m really not a huge fan of contemporary romances. But there are a few expectations. Denise Hunter is one of them. Her books usually strike a chord in me, so I enjoy reading her books. Her latest book, Falling like Snowflakes, is another one of these to add to the list.

Contemporary romances usually are stereotypical and follow the same pattern. Boy meets Girl. Boy and Girl argue. Boy and Girl start to have feelings. Boy and Girl share those feelings. Boy and Girl get married. But in Hunter’s Falling Like Snowflakes, Hunter delved a little into the suspense genre in this book. She includes a heroine who has an unknown background; even though the reader comes to find out pretty quickly that she is running away from something or someone. But we don’t find out what or who for a while. The story isn’t a complete suspense novel, so if you are a fan of that genre, like me, it will be a lot tamer.

Eden Martelli is a strong mother who wants to protect her son, Micah, from the men who controlled her and her deceased husband. Eden places her son’s needs above her own, which a good mother does for her children. She would rather keep changing her name and her identity in order to keep her son safe. On the other hand, Beau Callahan is an ex-deputy who uncovers Eden’s secrets first. He is a protector by nature and wants nothing then to save Eden and Micah while losing his heart in the process.

I do enjoy spending the time in Summer Harbor, the new place for Hunter’s new series. Being set around Thanksgiving and Christmas made me long for the holidays and cooler weather to arrive. Hunter does a great job at inviting me into the Callahan’s home and feel invited as I snuggle up the fire and observe how the family interacts.

Always sweet, Denise Hunter’s Falling Like Snowflakes captured my attention with an element of suspense mixed into the romance. I really liked getting to know Eden and find out what her past was. The romance between Beau and Eden tugged at my heart and caused me to sigh as I watched their physical reaction to their encounters.

I received a complimentary copy of Denise Hunter’s Falling Like Snowflakes from Thomas Nelson and the opinions stated are all my own.

Falling Like Snowflakes by Denise Hunter is a sweet contemporary romance with a little bit of suspense. It can definitely be read and enjoyed any time of the year, but if you really want to get into the Christmas mood, break out the *twinkle lights*, and drink hot chocolate by the fire, then this REALLY a book you should check out!

With this story, Denise delivers what I have come to expect from her: a compelling contemporary plot, romance, and the spiritual growth of at least one character. This one has the added factor of suspense and a nostalgic setting. The romance and suspense are played out slowly, never rushed, revealing snippets of just why Eden is on the run a little at a time, as feelings between she and Beau grow out of his protectiveness.

More serious themes of overcoming are woven through these characters’ lives. Eden has major trust issues. But, her heart starts to give way because she’s experiencing what a true family should feel like. At the same time, the Callahan brothers are drawn together for the holiday, something they have avoided due to the connection to painful memories. Both Beau and Eden learn lessons in overcoming: fear overcome by love and grief overcome by joy in the present moment.

I particularly enjoyed this novel’s lighthearted moments with banter between Beau and Eden. The idyllic “winter wonderland” atmosphere was the perfect backdrop for their romance. And, isolated, cold winter nights were ideal for suspense and drama to unfold.

This book is the first in a new series, the “Summer Harbor” series, set in an ideal coastal Maine town. The series is going to follow the stories of the three Callahan brothers. If you’re an avid Denise Hunter fan, you might have already “met” Beau Callahan in her recent release, Married ’til Monday. The next book in this series, The Goodbye Bride, is set to release March of next year! (It’s already on my TBR list :) )

My thanks to the publisher, Thomas Nelson, and BookLook bloggers for the ebook copy in exchange for my honest review.

With Falling Like Snowflakes, Denise Hunter’s Summer Harbor series is off to a delightful beginning. Centered around the Callahan brothers, this first novel in the series perfectly blends romance and intrigue when Beau hires mysterious newcomer Eden Martelli to help out around the house while his aunt recovers from a broken leg.

Eden and her young son, Micah, are fleeing for their lives when her car breaks down in Summer Harbor. When they become stranded after her money is stolen, she is desperate for a place to stay and although she is out of her element, she gratefully accepts Beau’s job offer. With their lives at risk, she is afraid to trust anyone but herself and she skillfully dodges Beau’s questions about herself. Eden’s stubbornness puts everyone at risk when Beau begins secretly looking for answers about her past.

Finding out the truth about Eden is just one of the problems Beau is facing. His relationship with his girlfriend Paige is a little unsettled and things between them become even more strained after he meets Eden. A shocking announcement from his brother, Riley, adds to his stress and the rift between them continues to widen.

The romance between Eden and Beau is slow growing and there are many obstacles for them to overcome when they unexpectedly fall in love. It takes a while for Beau to work through his emotions and arrive at a decision about his relationship with Paige. Eden’s tumultuous past has left her with little desire to enter into a relationship of any kind and her trust issues make it nearly impossible for her to discuss what happened prior to her arrival in town. Resolving her immediate problems is just the beginning of the healing process for Eden and much to Beau’s dismay, a future together remains far from certain.

Falling Like Snowflakes is a charming romance with appealing characters and a gentle undercurrent of faith. Denise Hunter skillfully weaves all of the various elements into a realistic story that is fast-paced and quite engaging. A wonderful introduction to the Callahan brothers that will leave readers eagerly awaiting the next novel in the Summer Harbor series.

Though its cover is steeped in Christmas cheer and its title helps along the imagery, this is a story that can be enjoyed any time of the year. Sure the setting does overlap the most wonderful time of year, but the cusp of the story is one of fear and breaking free from a past riddled with mistakes. The running theme is one of learning how to trust and embracing freedom. Eden had lived an entire life (though she’s still a young woman, hers was a life that seemed longer because of this) smothered. The first was for protection, and her later years were spent under a controlling thumb who was anything but protective (or not in the right way). Beau too, is a typical protective male, but unlike the men of her past, Beau wanted only to shelter Eden. To give her a haven that felt safe. This theme carries throughout the novel and the picture it evokes is a lovely one.

Meeting these new characters is an adventure all on its own. As characters, these pages hold some of the best. I found myself happily rooting for each of the characters though there are an unusual amount of complexities that complicate moving the plot forward. Still, even with these, all of the characters retain their moral compass. I feel as if we’ve been given a clear snapshot of what’s to come with brothers Zac and Riley’s stories. Given the synopsis for book two (The Goodbye Bride), my theory for Zac’s story has already been proven true. With its gentle yet emotional story that tugs at your heartstrings, and charming romantic style, with Falling Like Snowflakes, Denise has again wrapped up another poignant story that she tops with a pretty bow. As with each of her novels before this, not only is the message meant to impart something that looks beyond outward appearance and looks to within, there is also always a healthy glimpse of what a genuine love story looks like. Experiencing that alone is a gift though, fortunately, there is much more to be discovered.

Sincere thanks to the publisher for providing a complimentary copy of this book for reviewing purposes.

Denise Hunter has become one of our favorite authors because any of her books are almost a sure guarantee of an entertaining read! And with this newest novel, the first book in the Summer Harbor series, she has hit another homerun.

Storyline - 5 stars

Eden Martelli is on the run from dangerous men who want to take her life and the life of her son, Micah. When her car breaks down and her cash is stolen, they become stranded in Summer Harbor, Maine and must find a way to make a living but stay hidden from those who would destroy them.
When she meets the Callahan family - three grown brothers and their aunt - it seems God is providing not only a place to stay and a job for her, but a family to call her own as well. Beau Callahan slowly learns of the danger Eden is in and wants nothing more than to protect her and her son. But how can he do so when she is determined to keep hiding and running?

This book captivated us from the first page and never stopped pulling us in. We were completely swept away into the story, so much so that we didn't want the book to end! Author Denise gave us her usual intriguing characters and dynamite romance, but she also ventured into the world of mystery and suspense and nailed it!

Depth - 4 stars
Eden faces a lot of fear in the wake of her past and the danger now at her door. She has to learn to let go of the fear in order to open herself up to a new life, but it isn't easy and takes some painful lessons to learn how. Beau is struggling with the loss of his parents and the responsibility of the family now that it's their first Christmas alone. Family relationships are complicated at times but they always come back to each other, despite the conflicts. We loved the way Denise writes families - flawed, funny, lovable and real.

Faith - 4 stars
"When you can't trust others, and you can't trust yourself, you can always trust God. He'll carry you through whatever comes your way." Faith is an important part of the character's lives, and they have to learn many things: giving fears to God, trusting the Lord, letting go at times, learning His character and knowing the Bible.

Squeal Factor - 4 stars
Eden does not feel she can ever trust a man again. But when she and Beau can no longer deny their strong attraction to one another, she lets her guard down just a little - and the chemistry they share is like fireworks! Denise is so good at writing deep, clean, passionate romance!

Overall - 5 stars
This book felt like a hot buttered roll right out of the oven. We savored every bit of it as it tantalized our taste buds and settled warmly into our bellies! We are putting this book on our Golden List because it was just that enjoyable. Now we are eager for the rest of the Summer Harbor series!

For months I have anxiously awaited the first book in the Summer Harbor series, titled Falling Like Snowflakes. Having read Married ’til Monday from the Chapel Springs Romance series, I was already familiar with Summer Harbor and a few of the main characters. I really liked the way the author set these books up to be two separate series, yet have a crossover connection between the families.

To get to the heart of it…I loved this story! I connected with the characters right from the start. My heart ached as I learned about Eden’s painful and terrifying past. She was such a great mom to her son, Micah, and he was a great addition to this book. These two had a lot of baggage and trauma to get past. It was hard to watch Eden make some of the choices that she made toward the end of the book, however, it all tied back to the damage that had been done to her. Overall, she grew so much by the end of this story.

Beau was a great leading man. Strangely enough, he was dating someone else for a large portion of the book. I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about that, but it really worked for this story. It added a lot of conflict as he tried to determine what he was feeling and worked hard to deny the attraction that was beginning to develop toward Eden. These two had wonderful chemistry.

I loved the dynamic of the three Callahan brothers and I am very eager to read more in this series. I also thought the light suspense and danger that were present in the story was just the right amount and well-done. I enjoyed this book from start to finish.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. These opinions are my own.

Denise Hunter is one of my favorite Christian Fiction authors. I'm always on the lookout for the next new book from her. I've come to know exactly what I'm going to get from a Denise Hunter book and I am never disappointed.

Eden is on the run. We get bits and pieces of her story as things go along- in flashbacks mostly. Meanwhile Eden is trying to find work, hide her secrets and keep her son safe. It's a big burden to carry. Eden is a strong woman, afraid of the danger she's in, but not afraid to do what it takes to keep her son and herself safe. Eden doesn't trust though, understandably, which makes it really hard for the people who are trying to help and love her.

I liked Beau from the very beginning. He is protective and strong. He works hard and loves his family. He is everything a male hero lead should be. Beau is also a patient man and he works hard to help Eden, even when he doesn't understand.

This book was so easy to settle into. I read through it quickly and it ended before I was ready. I loved it and I cannot wait to see what comes next for the Callahan brothers! Today is release day for "Falling Like Snowflakes" so go pick up your copy today!

This is a clean romance. Christian Fiction. No swearing or sexual content. There is some mild violence. My thanks to the publisher, Thomas Nelson, for providing a copy of this book for review.

A great beginning to Denise Hunter's Summer Harbor series! While I didn't love this book as much as any in the Chapel Springs series, it was still really good and kept my attention. I was surprised by the hint of suspense in the story (Eden is on the run with her son and trying to stay safe) and while I enjoyed it for the most part, it was a little predictable towards the end.

I loved the new characters! We had met Beau in Married 'til Monday, so I already was familiar with him and the town. I absolutely loved his whole family and can't wait to read his brothers' novels (especially Riley's!). I also loved that Abby (the MC from Married 'til Monday) was in this story, too.

All in all, I really enjoyed Falling Like Snowflakes and recommend it if you like contemporary romance stories!

This book tells a beautiful story about faith, love, family, trust and letting go of fear. I was swept away from page one with this lovely novel. The characters were all likable and jelled very well together. Since this book takes place during winter and they celebrate Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's, I loved this book even more!

While you may think this book would be predictable, it isn't. The end result was expected, but the way it came together wasn't.

Eden had a hard life, but in this book, everything turns out perfect for her. I LOVE books that have a happy ending.

There was also some unexpected suspense throughout the whole book. Looking at the cover you wouldn't think that this was a suspense book, but it was! It was written very well!

"Falling Like Snowflakes" would be a new favorite of mine, however, I did NOT appreciate all of the language in a Christian fiction book. Really? Is it necessary? NO! The language really disappointed me, even if it was "slang". I especially when God's name was taken in vain. Unacceptable.

Hopefully the next book will be just a good of a story but without the language!

After reading the last book of the Chapel Springs series, in which we were briefly introduced to the characters of the then upcoming series Summer Harbor, I couldn't wait to fully meet them. So I'm glad to be reviewing book one in the series.

Don't let the cover fool you, "Falling Like Snowflakes" is more than a sweet holiday season romance. A lot of the time, I was afraid for the characters yet the book is well balanced in that there are many moments where you'll smile and laugh with them. I liked both the characters of Beau and Eden. But I have to admit they weren't my favorites. Eden's backstory was different and it was easy to feel for her. I like that Beau wasn't made out to be the perfect hero. He got angry or frustrated at times. He was maybe even overprotective of his brothers but all of that made his character that much more real and easy to relate with. The dialogue was great and I believe Denise Hunter did a great job bringing the characters in this novel to life.

I fell in love with the other two Callahan brothers, Zac and Riley and I can't wait to read more about them. I enjoyed every scene they were in. The great brotherly interaction adds a little something extra and unique to this book that I really loved and enjoyed. Even the brothers' arguments and strongheadedness was enjoyable simply for the fact that there was such a 'real life' element to it.

In short, I absolutely enjoyed it. Yes, it's a happy ending but at the same time it wasn't all fairy tales. Things could have turned out better for Paige but I believe the real-life element is what makes this book that much more unique.

It's a story about facing our fears and one that teaches about the real meaning of freedom. One only Christ can give.

I would recommend this book to everyone who likes all things sweet yet real. And those who love some festive mistletoe hanging on the kitchen ceiling.

Falling Like Snowflakes was a wonderful read! I had a hard time putting it down! Eden and Micah warmed my heart right from the beginning. Their story was interesting and nicely developed. Beau... what can I say about Beau? An amazing hero! Eden and Beau had so much chemistry and their love story was brilliantly written. Denise Hunter’s dialogue in her books - never disappoints. This story was so much more than just a romance novel. The storyline had content and sucked me in immediately. The Christian message throughout the book was subtle and uplifting! I can’t wait to read Zac and Riley’s stories!

I really enjoyed this well-written Christmas romance! I loved the characters, especially Beau, who tries to protect and care for everyone, even a stranger. I also really liked Eden and his girlfriend Paige. His crabby aunt lent some humor to the story. I liked the suspense angle and how we only got bits of what happened to Eden and her son as the story unfolded. The romance was great! I love how Denise writes a love story. Faith is an important element as both Beau and Eden have a strong faith in God, as do most of the other characters. I did feel like the characters weren't as fleshed out as in some of her other books. I also think the cover is a little suggestive for a Christian novel, though that's probably more on the publishing side of things. This is the first book in the Summer Harbor series, but the Callahan brothers were introduced in the last book of her Chapel Springs series, so it was awesome that they have their own series now. I'm really looking forward to the next one, as Denise Hunter is one of my favorite authors. I highly recommend this book if you like romance!

“Her own fear held her captive.”

This is my second Denise Hunter read, and she is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. Her romances are so good, and so far there has been a little mystery thrown in to keep you interested. I loved how this one took a turn I was not expecting, and I cannot wait to read book two in the series.

This is marked as Christian Fiction, but do not put off by that. She does use some Religion in her stories, but they are not overpowering or overdone in my opinion. I really want more people to give her work a chance. I am loving everything so far.

Eden and Beau make a wonderful couple with honest conflict keeping them apart. I love how Beau takes to her son and we see a gentle side to him. It also allowed us to see Eden begin to slowly trust again--it's one thing to trust her own heart with a man, but her son's heart? This dynamic allowed growth in their relationship that was authentic and sweet.

The other aspect I enjoyed was getting to know all the Callahans and catching the first glimpses of what is sure to be their stories. I like the slow build-up of the secondary characters as it makes me anticipate the arrival of their books as well.

All in all I highly recommend Falling Like Snowflakes. If you've come to love Hunter's books, you'll not be disappointed in this read. If she's new to you, you'll find yourself searching for other titles by her once you've finished.

Very, very good! I really enjoyed this book and cannot wait to get my hands on the rest of the series!
The storyline: terrific! The writing: engaging-- as always! ;) The characters: wonderful to get to know!

I must say that, as much as I loved Eden and Micah and Beau and his brothers... Aunt Trudy is one of my favorite characters. She was surprisingly endearing!

But, as with most stories, there were a couple things that annoyed me...
1) The cover. I mean, it truly is beautifully done! But-- it looks like she's sitting on his lap in the car, making out! And, for the record, that never happened.
2) There was more sensuality than I really care for in a story. Not bad enough to be an issue, but I just felt like it needed to be mentioned.
And I think that's it!

Again, I can't wait to read more about this family! Of course, Ms. Hunter would make us wait to read Riley's story last... :( But I'm certain it will be well worth the wait. :)

I love when fall arrives and Christmas novels begin to hit store shelves! Falling Like Snowflakes is the perfect book to curl up with on a cool evening. Denise Hunter creates a heart-warming story with characters that work their way into your heart. Eden's situation garnered my sympathies, especially with sweet little Micah. The "game" they played to mask their identities was heart-wrenching, and I longed for them to find a safe haven in Summer Harbor. Hunter manages the perfect balance between Eden needing to be rescued and her tenacity and independence, providing depth to the story. Add this delightful book to your fall reading list today!

Sweet story but disappointing. I've come to expect so much more from this author. Beau, the male lead, just fell flat for me and I'm not sure why. The plot of the story was okay, I just didn't care as much for the characters as I normally do. Little things bothered me like Eden being in a terrifying situation and calling out her son's fake name instead of his real name. No way that would ever happen. Her dad's problems seemed to just disappear in the end. The romance was just not up to speed of a normal Hunter book. Will continue the series, hoping the author's usual humor and voice return.

Falling Like Snowflakes is the first novel in Denise Hunter's latest series, Summer Harbor. You are introduced to Eden Davis and her young son, Micah, on the first pages of this novel. When her car breaks down on the outskirts of the tourist town, Summer Harbor, she has no idea where she can turn for help!

As Eden begins searching around town for a job to help her pay for her car repairs, she soon runs into Beau Callahan. It is the beginning of the busy season at his Christmas tree farm and he is desperate to find someone to help care for his aunt, who has just broken her leg. Eden seems like a perfect fit!

Watch and see what will bloom as Eden begins to blend in with the Callahan family. After some time watching their interaction, you are not sure who is helping who solve the difficulties life has brought their way!

This book is the beginning of series from Denise Hunter. I have loved every one of her books that I have read and this one was no exception. It's mystery with romance tossed in. Eden (who has changed her name to Kate) is running with her young son from men who want them dead due to her son witnessing his dad's murder. On their way to a friend's cabin (where she plans to hide) her car breaks down and leaves her stranded in a small town. Her belongings are stolen so she looks for work and a place to stay while waiting for her car to be repaired. They end up taking refuge at a Christmas tree farm where Eden is hired to care for an older woman recovering from a broken leg. Beau runs the farm and is the one who hired Eden. That's where the romance comes in. I will end my review here as I don't want to spoil things for anyone. I am looking forward to the next book in this series!

A wonderful start to a new series! An engaging, heartfelt story, characters with real issues, and some intense moments kept me reading on to see how it would end.
Loved the Chapel Springs series, so it was nice to recognize a few mention of tie-over characters from it. The underlying faith message, and theme of handing your fear over to God was uplifting. A few sigh-worthy moments will please romance readers too. Descriptions of the beautiful Maine coastal setting make me want to go for a visit, and maybe stop for a bite to eat at Frumpy Joe's Diner along the way.

Recommend for Christian romance fans who enjoy a little suspense in the mix. Look forward to reading more about the Callahan brothers in the next books of the series!

(Thank you to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson Publishing for the book provided in exchange for my honest review.)

Honestly, I could look at the book cover and give it five stars without ever reading it! WOW! Just WOW!! But I finally managed to the open the book and when I did, it was difficult to close again. The story held me captive and it was a pleasure meeting the Callahan brothers, and I can't wait to read about Zac & Riley's stories. Mrs. Hunter is a fabulous writer and is extremely talented in weaving a great story that will have you laughing, crying, swooning and smiling with delight. And did I mention the cover?! :-)
