Boy. This was a WORD in due season. Great Read! and wonderful eye opener to how we act. Taking it to heart! Thank you for your obedience to act on what GOD has shared with you, in sharing it with us.

I enjoyed this book. It was very convicting, and just what I needed to put things in perspective. I could relate to the author's personal stories and felt like she was describing me as she talked about herself.

I took this study and my church and really, really enjoyed it. Karen Ehman keeps this study honest while adding personal stories, stories from her friends and Biblical stories and verses. While parts of the study were difficult to handle (because the truth hit home), I found myself seeing how I need to keep my mouth shut and when it's okay to talk away! Now if only I can remember to apply what I learned on a daily basis. ;)

Great study book and study guide. We are almost finished with our study. The group had over 30 ladies, which have impacted the way we speak, when and how to speak.. It has absolutely changed all of us.

I purchased this book from the store to #buddyread with Kayla. All opinions are my own. Kayla and I met through #modernmrsdarcy Bookclub. We discussed doing a bible study together and we decided on Keep It Shut by Karen Ehman. ?????Let me just say this book couldn't have been presented at a better time and place than now. With all the inside struggles of a family when a parent becomes sick and other daily issues that normally seem minimal, tempers flare and words get said that you can't take back. Remember just because it's how you feel doesn't mean this is the time to say so. Everyone wants to help and being the loudest doesn't always work. Sometimes it's not what you say it's how you say it and when you say it that works for the best. Lehman walks through using words to wrap people in love even when telling them what they don't want to hear works better than being angry or spouting it out loud in person or online all while tying it with scripture and helping you ask for help from the right person to get the words right in your heart before they spew from your mouth. She even uses examples from her personal conversations to set the tone of the chapter. It's Bible based, and so interesting. What an introspection message it is. I have come across so so many convictions as a I was reading this book, and I proudly receive and acknowledge the revelation.
The book has already made me a better person. Thank you team OBS for referring us to this book.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Keep It Shut. I am not a very talkative person, but I still struggle with saying the wrong thing at the wrong time,or not speaking up when I should. I highly recommend this to people of all personality types, because we all could use a little more tact.

Strongly recommend this book to anyone male or female who wishes to be a first class communicator. Full of wisdom, humor and solid life changing suggestions that believe would benefit all who read it. It is based on Biblical principals and literal chapter and verse annotations are provided, includes historical reference examples and anecdotal stories from the author's life. Her writing style is friendly, humorous and sincere. Have already recommended this book to several people after experiencing first hand the changes it made in the life of my family. Highly recommend.

It was such an insightful book! It addresses so many of life's challenges regarding loved ones and those that are difficult to be around. Controlling your tongue starts with your mind. Through humor and scripture Karen shows readers that it's possible to be loving when you don't want to be, gracious and compassionate when it's difficult and best of all, still be a fun-loving social person. As long as you learn what to say, when to say it and when to keep it shut :)

My small group of women is going through this book and WE LOVE IT! It is a lot of common sense but it is a great reminder to all of use to really watch our communication with everyone from our spouse to strangers on the street! Highly recommend it!
