I love this book! It's easy to read, interesting, and calms irrational fears. I wanted to hurry up and read it to give to a friend, but realized I want to keep it for referral when I inevitably need it again in my future freak-outs. Highly recommend.

One conclusion I came to after reading this book and other books on this topic—Henry T. Blackaby's Experiencing God—is that everyone relates to God differently in their individual walks. The way that someone like Kevin DeYoung relates to God is not going to be exactly the same as someone like Henry T. Blackaby or Oswald Chambers (author of My Utmost for His Highest). I found myself relating more to the way in which Blackaby and Chambers talked about a relationship with God and discerning His will in our lives, and less so with DeYoung's somewhat more detached approach. I am certain all of these authors/ministers love God very much, but I do not think DeYoung (or Blackaby for that matter) can assume that everyone would relate to God and understand His will the same way they do.

Amazing book that liberates you from the many choices in the world today... I feel like any Christian millennial can greatly benefit from this book. It's not just pastoral advice; every point is backed by countless passages of scripture, so you know you're not just getting a human "how to" book, but that God's will of our choices is revealed by Him.

I learned so much from reading this short book. Kevin DeYoung really cuts to the heart of doing something based on principles from the Word. Excellent, enlightened read. I highly recommend this for anyone searching out and for God's will.

This books helps take the stress and anxiety out of decision-making for those of us who struggle with picking what to do next in life. It's a relief to know that we don't have to be so legalistic in our life decisions. I wish I would have read this during my highschool/college days.

Great, practical book on figuring out your next steps in life. I am recommending this to anyone I come across who feels confused about finding God's will. It is a relatively short book, with a good progression of topics. Could read in a couple of hours.

There's a lot of unbiblical and speculative ideas about how God guides the life of the believer. DeYoung offers a very needed biblical corrective to some of these matters. This is an excellent work on this topic. Highly recommended!

I have children and young adult friends that need to read this book. It describes them and the struggle they are having in their lives today. Common sense to the point answers to the questions they are asking. I will be buying copies and giving them away.

A quick read and so relevant for today's generation. Too many of us get bogged down in simply making decisions and have confused the purpose of our lives. This book gets to the heart of the matter, and is written in a refreshing way. A friend recommended to me, and I've been sharing with friends as well. Glad that I read. Feeling a bit more energized about seeking God and putting His will first!

I used this book for a group study. Some chapters seemed repetitive, however, the message that the author wanted to share got through. Don't be so afraid of making the wrong decision that you make no decision at all.

Christians talk about “the will of God” all the time. And many people think that God is going to show them every step of every day by some sign from heaven. But Kevin DeYoung, pastor of University Reformed Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan and author of Just Do Something (©2009), argues that this kind of thinking leads many Christians to languish in inaction and robs us of our sanctification and joy.

Stop thinking of God’s will like a corn-maze, or a tightrope, or a bulls-eye (pg. 24).

DeYoung challenges us to stop thinking so much about God laying out a yellow brick road to our perfect happiness and, as the title suggests, to just do something. God wants us to flow His moral will and to use the wisdom of His Word as a guide and then just make a decision. DeYoung says, “[But] while we are free to ask God for wisdom, He does not burden us with the task of diving His will of direction for our lives ahead of time” (pg. 24).

This short (only 125 pages) book is a great study for anyone who has ever struggled with the idea of discovering God’s will or anyone who has wondered if God even has a will for our lives. DeYoung addresses everything from finding a job, who to marry, and all kinds of life decisions and how biblical principles of decision making can impact not only our effectiveness for Jesus but also increase our joy. I definitely recommend it to anyone as a great guidebook to navigating the Christian life.

Amazing! I recommend this book to all my friends! Kevin has a funny way to show us that, when it comes to take decisions, we rely too much on our feelings and selfish desires. Stop to spiritualize everything, just do something!

This book is literally life changing. Because it is all Biblically based and uses scripture over and over, the true meaning of 'God's will' can be found in this little book! A quick read the first tiem though, then you will have to re-read and mark it up. I truly can say I have never read another book like this one, and I read over 300 books per year.

This refreshing, back to the Bible, guide for making decisions in life, was helpful to me. I didn't realize that I have been hampered by faulty thinking which left me paralyzed. This book is short, clear and even quite funny in places.

The title delivers - I found this books message liberating. It has a refreshing, honest and sound scriptural approach to seeking the will of God. It has challenged me and I encourage anyone looking for Gods will to read this!

Parents: Buy two copies - one for your student (in 11th or 12th grade) - and one for yourself, and use it as a study guide concerning God's will. You will have some terrific discussions, and learn a few things along the way.

If your students are already off to college - ship them a copy and do a correspondence study with them.

This is a wonderful book that should be WIDELY distributed. It is theologically solid, and written from the depths of a true shepherd's heart.

I actually first received this book at Together for the Gospel, a pastor-oriented Bible conference. I enjoyed it so much, and found the ideas so helpful and easy to understand and implement that my wife and I bought several copies to give to high school graduates from our church. I highly, highly recommend this book to anyone who is unsure of their direction in life. It's not needlessly heavy or "theological," but it does pack a punch.

I am a college student facing the tough decision of what I want to do when I graduate. Am I supposed to go into full-time ministry or attack the business world? This book helped me see the flaws in my thinking and have freed me from my fear of making huge mistakes.

I loved Kevin straightforward yet biblical approach in urging Christians to simply go and do something for the Lord. If you are in college or just starting your professional career, pick up this book and realign your thinking on how to please God with your life.

This book was really eye-opening and provided good insights and distinction of God's will. It is easy to read and follow, and well-supported with anecdotes. I'm now more confident in walking in God's will, as I have learned to discern the difference between His will of desire and His will of direction. I highly recommend this book to people who are asking 'how do I know if this is the will of God' and want to be empowered and be free to walk confidently in His will.

So far we are really enjoying the audio book. With two in college and a third on the way this book is excellent for those wanting to know God's will for their lives, but are bombarded with an overload of choices. The main emphasis is get up and do what is right. Don't sit around "waiting for God's will" as if that made you more spiritual. The book is very sound doctrinally and has kept the boys attention. Great find!

This book was really straight forward and does a fantastic job citing scripture. It's scripture I've memorized in school as a kid, but I've never seen it in this light. Loved this book. Will give it to new grads for sure and those I love.

Fantastic message. Short and sweet, to the point. This straight-forward message will motivate you to trust God's plan enough to go out and do something- if He doesn't want you to do it, He'll find a way to stop you! Explains how if you are living up to God's standards, you aren't going to make a "wrong" choice- just make a choice!

Using this boof for a small group monthly discussion. Seems to be directed more to the younger aged couples than the seniors (which we are). Our small group consists of various ages and we can all glean information from this book that is helpful in our lives. Gave it four stars only because we are the seniors in the group and find it more appropriate for the younger couples than the older couples. But never too old to learn new things!

This was a wonderful little book packed with Godly, insightful wisdom. I will gift this to every graduating senior. After reading this book, my boyfriend and I prayerfully moved forward into marriage! I'm so glad I read Just Do Something and that, as a result, I've been freed from indecision -- from living in fear that I would act outside the "will of God." I'm reminded of the true will of God: Be holy like Jesus by the power of the Spirit for the glory of God.
