Monroe writes well but is far inferior in conceiving a story. This one is a typical Hollywood cliché (a romantic comedy genre) of the family as an ultimate life fulfillment. Decorated with some "mystical elements".
I would expect more from a Nobel prize winner.

Very disappointed in this book. I have read several of Mary alice Monroes books and this is one of the worst. I didn't think it would ever end, skipped quite a few pages. I want my money back for this one.

I just finished this wonderful book! What a sweet love story with a different twist. Mind you, I am an avid reader and before reading this book, I had just finished John Gresham's book "Sycamore Row" - also a great book, I might add. So my library has great diversity. I recommend this book! Have faith and believe in your dreams!

My daughter, at 3 years old, is a little obsessed with Peter Pan so I got a kick out of reading a spin off. It was a very interesting read - allows you to suspend disbelief - and was very satisfying. I read another book by Mary Alice after this one because I was sorry that it was over.

Mary Alice Monroe never disappoints me! I always look forward to reading her books and just know that I will always be delighted with her "way with words". "Peter Pan" is my all time favorite story and loved the way she wove it into this magical tale.

I am savoring this book! I've read everything Mary Alice Monroe has written and have never been disappointed. She is a wonderful author and when I wrote her a note one day, she was gracious enough to reply. Judith Elliott

Magical !
I loved this book. The beginning is not atypical, but it moves into the fantasy of Peter Pan, the faith of young children in someone or something more significant than their everyday lives, the creative use of their imaginations guided by a gentle older woman named Wendy. Lovely!

I am not against romance, but in this particular book, I wish there had been more of the magical and less of the very predictable trajectory of the relationship between Faye and Jack. In fact, other than Wendy and the children, the characters are caricatures, from the greedy, overbearing daughter, and the demanding boss, to the committed batchelor and relationship -averse battered woman. Despite the delightful premise of the book, we are teased by too few sightings of fairy lights and bogged down with too much heavy breathing. It passed the afternoon, but overall was a disappointment.

A charming, whinsical tale with a happy ending, kids and a dog. The heroine gets her man and the evil co-worker gets her comeuppance...a bit formulaic but great for a plane ride or if you have the flu.

This novel tries to revive the magic in the original Peter Pan. While the characters are endearing, the writing is poor and insipid. I kept wanting this story to be in the hands of a master craftsperson. Heavy sigh ... disappointing. If you still believe, you'll find some magic in the tale. If you don't believe, then don't bother. She won't be able to convince you.
