Unfortunately, I just didn't get into this story. I will be honest, I'm just not a fan of the whole teacher/student relationship. I most likely would not have purchased it knowing that. But to be fair, it was written well and there is a lightness to the characters that is good. It was kind of true to life in that people are often to be quick to judge people based on hearsay and appearances instead of getting to know someone. If you don't mind the teacher/student thing, give it a shot. :)

Blaire was annoying and since Blaire is the narrator, this story was annoying. Bad Ass Blaire was actually a door mat to everyone and their hateful, judgemental feelings. Blaire is a 17 yeAr old girl who lived with her drugging whore mother who treated Blaire badly and ends up dead by overdose. Her biological father and his wife take her in but are ice cold and judgemental? Why? None of them know Blaire to treat her like this. Where's their compassion and protective instincts? The reason her father and step-mother are cold and distant is ridiculous and the instant understanding and maturity from Blaire is unrealistic for a17 yeAr old who is crying out for any kind of love or affection. This story was full of Unnecessary Drama....... and it goes on and on....... Silver her love interest is just as annoying. How many times can you screw up? Apparently a lot, but that's okay because Blaire is really forgiving to the point you want to scream and shake her to death to stick up for herself, but never does. I didn't care for the authors bringing in not only one gay character but several all of which are hot male athletes and Kip who hooks up with boys and girls because as he says really crudely " I like it all balls, dicks, or vaginas it doesn't matter." REALLY? I understand homosexuality and this wasn't it this was a really poor attempt to promote the whole love doesn't discriminate and gender isn't a determining factor in who you fall in love with. Which is total garbage. At one point Blaire's friend Ibby (a girl) really likes Kip and doesn't care that he has slept with their best friend Rafe. In fact RAFE's parents joke to Kip and Rafe to keep it down when they're upstairs hooking up. Seriously???? I'm not a prude but this is a little over the top. What girl is okay with sleeping with a guy who has just been sleeping with another guy??? Unnecessary side story to this already over dramatic story. It felt like I was reading a story a 16 year old girl decided to write one day out of boredom. I can't believe I actually finished it. Dumb on my part.

Was a good book. It kept my attention, but lacked that something special. I'm just not able to put my finger on it really. It was well written, with few typos. A wonderful coming of age story. Learning to love and be loved.. Learning to put others before yourself, but to never compromise your goals.

I really liked this story. I was really rooting for the female lead. She was introduced as tough and strong. Her change in personality as the
story evolves got me a little frustrated at times, but in the end It just made me get into the story even more and It made me a little emotional. I would recommend this book it was great.

Good love story! The only thing that really annoyed me was the endless grammatical errors. Also, I think the constant abuse Blair takes from Silver goes unrecognized and is always excused, if a guy spoke to me like that I'd be long gone. Overall I really enjoyed the story.

This book was well written and the characters nice and fleshed out. The reason for the 2 stars is that this book is way too similar to another student teacher book. Down to the jar thing, living across the street.... In liked the book and it was different enough but the similarities were much too prevalent.

I think I should begin this review by saying that I have a slight weak spot for student/teacher romances (I also rate Unteachable, An Anthropology of an American Girl, and the Slammed series up with my favourite reads). So maybe I was destined to adore this book before I even began reading it!

I love reading and might have a "one click" addiction but in the many years I have owned a kindle I have never felt compelled to write a review before Because of him. It was such a refreshing and honestly beautiful book that it brought tears to my eyes at so many different parts, sometimes from pain and sometimes from the beauty of Blairs words coming to life. Every once in a while you just come across a book that makes you feel so much that it just sticks with you for days and weeks and months afterwards and because of him is one of those books. I always like to check out reviews of books to feel out what I am about to buy and so for readers like me I am doing you all a favor in telling you to JUST HIT THE ONE CLICK button. I promise you it will be well worth it!

This is a beautiful love story and my favourite book of this genre. You meet a guy, he makes you laugh, makes you smile, he gets you, he inspires you, you can't stop thinking about him and the way he kisses you, the way he makes you forget about all the bad in your life. What happens when you realise you can't be together, how do you cope, how do you stay away from your soul mate?

Why doesn't this book have more great reviews? This was a great book with well developed characters and a great storyline. Recently, many of the books that I have read, seem to have the same tired feel of recycled characters. It's nice to read about a strong h who can be vulnerable without being weak. The same could be said for the H. Blair and Silver are likable characters that not only made you laugh but made you cry for them. This book is not some sort of heartbreaking romance of star crossed lovers, but instead Jessica Roe has written a book that explores her characters range of emotions, which ultimately makes it a must read!

A well written story. I don't say romantic story because it is more than that. Blair has had it rough. When her junkie mom passes away she has to go live with her father that she has only talked to twice. She is brought to a home filled with strangers some even hostile. She has to start at a new school. Is labeled a druggie and trouble. She had some big obstacles to overcome. I encourage you to read her story. Yes there is a love story. No there are no sex scenes. That said it is a book worth reading.

No cliffhanger
Standalone
Told from Blairs POV ( one chapter from Silver)
Minor editing errors

I was leery of this book when I first purchased it but I got it because of all the good reviews and I am so glad I did.

This book pulls you in and doesn't let go. I couldn't put it down. I stayed up all night promising to read one more chapter and just one more after that.

The author did an amazing job with the storyline. I found myself laughing out loud, crying and keeping my fingers crossed.

If you are looking for a boom full of sex this isn't the book for you but as someone who usually reads those books I found this one refreshing.

A must read. I will definitely be looking for other books by this author.

Awesome Awesome book. I literally could not put this one down. My family laughed at me because I stayed up til three o'clock in the morning reading it. My emotions were all over the place too. I was laughing out loud at some parts then I would be crying. Then when I read how her REAL father treated her and let his wife treat her, I was so furious, I wanted to punch him in the face myself. Blair is a feisty, sweet, love with her whole heart character and I love her. I want more! I want to know if they stayed together. I want to know if they had babies. Did she finish photography school? Where are they five, ten, fifteen years later? And to me, all of the I want mores make this a awesome read.
