The Black Flagged series is surely one of the best series I have read in recent years (reading about 50 books per year) and on par with Vince Flynn's Mitch Rapp series, Brad Thor's Scott Harvath, Ben Coes's, Mark Greaney's Grayman series, Tom Wood's Victor series. Fast action, cool plots and amazing writing. Can't wait to for the next book to be published!!!

Within the first 10% the “hero” has murdered several US intelligence contractors and a female police officer. Since the series continues obviously there is no justice. It’s like reading about a member of Al Qaeda going about his business.

Fast-paced series that shows how the United States operate in an interesting light. Many details about the Pentagon, CIA, FBI, Sanderson's special forces. Weapons, optics, helicopters, also locations are all described in great detail. I actually had some fun checking out the locations using Google Maps (even Street View came in handy!) as I was reading. It's easy to get attached to some of the main characters, but because there are so many people mentioned, not all of the secondary characters get the full attention, which wasn't the case in the Perseid Collapse series, but hey. The whole world in involved in the Black Flagged series, compared to one town (or neighborhood even) in the other series. The characters might appear too strong and invincible at times, but how they came to be so good at their jobs is thoroughly explained, and it also explains their violent behaviour, which isn't that bad really.
It takes little time to get into the series and it's not easy at all to stop reading.

Executive Power (A Mitch Rapp Novel Book 4) :: Act of Treason (A Mitch Rapp Novel Book 7) :: A Thriller (The Logan West Thrillers Book 1) :: A Thriller (A Mitch Rapp Novel Book 9) - Extreme Measures :: The Depth of Darkness (Mitch Tanner Book 1)

Amazing, fast paced books with lots of detail, but light on the boring details that drag action books down. That boring stuff being a one page description of the suit a character was wearing, or the type of wine they drink. The only details here are the ones pertinent to the action. That's what these books are based on. Action. If you want a book about chasing bad guys using upgraded iPhones and detailed geography with little snippets of action thrown in, then read Brad Taylor. If you want to feel like your stacked, jacked and ready to act with a 9 banger in one hand and an MP5SD3 in the other then read these books.

I loved the first two books in the series. However, the third one, Apex, just bogged me down in too many characters, too many groups, and I found it impossible to keep people straight. The author added another whole cast of characters to his original players. I gave up about one third of the way through. I would really recommend the first two books, but the last was a downer for me.

This trilogy is just great. I would describe it as the Bourne trilogy, where Jason's been cloned, add some moral ambiguity, witty banter, and a wealthy benefactor that uses largesse, and a bit of leverage to accomplish his aims, and you have this great series. If you like techno thrillers, or quasi government activities stories, this book is for you. Simply a great read for the beach, on a snowy weekend, or at your lunch break. Can't recommend enough.

Black Flagged is a techno-thriller of the highest order. The large cast of characters is complex and flawed. The story lines are multi-faceted, suspenseful, and satisfying. The stakes grow with each successive novel and the series. Daniel Petrovich is a tough protagonist with secrets, skills, and an instinct for survival. While familiar to fans of Thor, Flynn, Clancy, Taylor, and Cameron, the stories are fresh and unique. Set aside a long weekend once you pick up Konkoly's Black Flagged...Read the first and you're hooked.

Stuck at the house because of snow, ice and single digits I spent two fabulous days reading Alpha, Redux and Apex. What a page turner. I was glued to my kindle tapping page after page. Not a dull moment. Enjoy.

Cut from the same cloth as Bourne thrillers full of intrigue, suspense, action, (covert of course) and fully developed characters. A must read for anyone enjoying Ludlum, Thor, and my personal favorite, Flynn. Why isn't there a movie series based upon these books? Visit places you've wanted to experience. Meet people you pray will be your friends!

Steve really knows his stuff. If you want to learn about what could very well become a reality in our lifetimes, and how to prepare for it, his books are a must read!
His writing style is so introspective that you feel like you are witnessing the events through his eyes. His PERSEID COLLAPSE series is another set of "Must Reads".

stumbled on this after the last of Mitch Rapp (and the author's death) and after a few pages was hooked - after meeting the main characters, the plot took off in a fast paced story that had me gripping my Kindle and staying up way too late ... wish Steven would do a few more

A rip-roaring set of spy thrillers. Sometimes it's hard to tell the good guys from the bad guys. Action-packed. A fair amount of military jargon, which I just skip over, but the technical detail is well-done for those who like that.

Really enjoyed this series. Filling the empty, and much lamented Clancy space on the bookshelf. Not your usual unsullied hero and heroine, but they grow on you with winced expression. Scary to think our services should have to resort to such violence, but look at all those stars on the CIA wall.

I was hooked on Konkoly with the Perseid Collapse series, which both fascinated and terrified me. Black Flagged was a change of pace, but the series turned out to be an equally great read. I'm a huge fan of Thor and Flynn, and Black Flagged was on par with Scot Horvath and Mitch Rapp. I always look forward to Konkoly's new releases, because I know I'm in for a great book!

This was a very well written set of action books. Each character was developed well enough to understand their thinking, both male and female. The main character maintained a mystery about him that kept you interested in his thoughts and actions. I liked it.

I purchased the books individually but I'm hooked on anything Steven Konkoly writes. I think I've read all his novels and am waiting for his next release. I learned quite a bit about being prepared in a world that is totally different than the one we live in now.

Steve Konkoly has hit a "home run" with the Black Flagged Series Boxset. If you like fast paced thrillers you will love this series. Be sure to check other books/series by Konkoly, he writes great books with real world plot lines.

Read the series and thoroughly loved them. Action, adventure, special ops, friendship, banter - something for pretty much anyone who love action books. Great series - try Steves other series too. All so good.

This is an exciting series with interesting characters and fabulous plots. I could not put the series down. Then my husband started and couldn't stop reading it. For a high octane read, this is the series to buy. I hope to see more of these characters. The series was full of surprises.

I enjoy the story when Jessica and Daniel are involed, but do feel too much book is wasted on giving the letters and indivual forms of ammo for each type of weapon, average people want to get on with the story line and not get lost in the techinical terms for the most part....some of the stories had so many characters and sub plots as to be detemintal to continunity...

Mr. Konkoly has created a masterful cast of characters in this multilayered government/black ops/terrorist extravaganza. I don't often read an entire series of books in one sitting but Mr. Konkoly 's Black Flag Series captured me. I highly recommend this series to anyone who's interested in this genre.

I really enjoyed reading all 3 books consecutively. Having read the first some months ago it was certainly worth re-reading to get back into the characters. If anything it is a bit too American for my taste having grown up with true masters like Le Carre & Deighton, but I guess I can forgive US writers for writing in US style. (Makes me glad to be English).
Stephen Konkoly is certainly a writer whose books I will continue to look forward to. (By the way Stephen, Sydney is spelt with a Y, not I).

Love everything Steven Konkoly has written. I preferred his other two series over this one, but it is still fast-paced and full of action. Fans of weaponry and special ops tactics will love these books

Books were enjoyable, if not a bit predictable. The characters aren't that complex, but still well done enough to make the series enjoyable. The action flows and the plot keeps your attention. Definitely recommended for a summer read.
