The book is extremely basic and the title is deceptive in nature. The book is not as much about the stock market as it is about trading. The book also does not really reveal any sect rest but rather some basic trading strategies. Might be useful to someone who is considering becoming a day trader but more in depth learning will be needed.

This short book is an excellent primer to trading the stock market. Personally, after reading some of the author's other books, I would recommend reading this one first and using the other books in conjunction with it. You won't find this book confusing at all, but very reader friendly and immensely practical when it comes to implementing what is being taught. You also get a bonus chapter to further your interest and understanding. All in all, I would not hesitate in recommending 'The Little Black Book of Stock Market Secrets'.

This is the absolute best and most insightful book on trading philosophy and psychology that I’ve ever read, and I’ve read a lot over the past year. I would recommend this book as the first book to read for anyone just starting out, or for those who have been stuck and not doing well, like myself, or for anyone trading in the market, who wants to improve their trading.
Thank you so much for writing this book. I’m certain I will be a much better trader after reading this. I will plan to read it again and again during my trading “career”.

In a way too detail oriented industry, Matt Krater yet again releases a brief masterpiece on finance/investing. Like his other books, they are short, sweet, and to the point. The Little Black Book is no different. Solid, core fundamentals, that are easy to understand, is why I feel these books are gold. Many finance enthusiasts may complain how there is 'not enough detail', however I feel that it is refreshing that Matt dives into the brass tax of what you need to know.

I can't stress enough the benefits of reading this book and how it has helped me. I'm not brand spanking new to the stock market but this book is laid out clearly enough for anyone to understand and take actionable steps to improve their trading, whether it be short, long or swing trading. Whether you've been trading for years or days, I highly recommend picking this book up because it is full of secrets to make a huge difference in your trading.

This is a weird book. Skinny and no page number (presumably, by design). It assumes that the readers are familiar with the stock market and technical analysis. It does not bother to explain what SPY, QQQ, IWM and DIA ticker symbols are. It only explains SPY 4 pages after it first appears. It uses Bollinger Band, RSI and candlestick chart in the text without explaining what they are and how to obtain the information. It does not cover international investing and sector ETF's.
Despite all the shortcomings, the book contains a world of investing / trading wisdom. The simple BUY rule of Index > 50 day moving average AND 50 day moving average > 200 day moving average would have generated very high risk-adjusted return. I will have hoped that he had used some example to demonstrated the point, so that the concept can sink in. Likewise, "Don't be afraid of high P/E stocks" in Chapter 3 and "Don't ignore the macro" in Chapter 4 are very helpful concepts to have.

Second book that I have read from Matthew Kratter. Not a technical book by any means, but considered to be an advanced beginner book. Enjoyed the snippets of wisdom from a professional trader. Like the author said, read it more than once. After you get some experience in the market, you tend to recognize ways to do trading better and pitfalls to avoid. But, you cannot be successful in the market unless you prepare. This is a good book for establishing guidelines whether it is in common stocks or options.

I have received an advanced review copy and like what I read. Mathew R. Kratter wrote beautifully in plain simple language a subject which usually requires Wall Street jargons and mathematics. The length of the book is also quite reasonably contained with explanation without redundancy. This book certainly helpful for those who wants to learn stock market investing and equally helpful for those who are at intermediate level to learn simplified trading strategies. Well done!!!.

Book does not reveal any secret about the market. It just talks at high level about uptrend and Downtrend without giving any solid guidance about strategies to use. It took me only 2 hrs to go through this book.

I received this book pre-publication. I believe that this book would be very good for a new investor. There are plenty of good advice points for new investors. This is a solid ground work to use as a starting point.

Matt did a great job with explaining trading styles and psychology. I'm not new to trading but, I found the book to be sincere on what it takes to start the journey on becoming a successful trader in the markets.
