[spoilers included] So I thought this concept was a unique one - set up a romance based on participation in a "Survivor" type environment, complete with the hot guy, feisty heroine, and assortment of characters. The steamy scenes were great, and Abby herself is well developed. The main problem I had with this book (the reason for the four stars) besides the mechanical errors, is that it turns out Dean "Woodall" (seriously? Very Bondgirl-type name!!) is a gold-medal winning Olympic swimmer that ABBY DOES NOT RECOGNIZE until it's pointed out to her. SERIOUSLY? It's stated she's a book reviewer, so presumably, she reads. A lot. Probably everything. She works for a media magazine (that could basically substitute for Newsweek). And she REALLY doesn't recognize a swimmer that has "multiple endorsement deals" and "plenty of money" whose handsome face is probably plastered all over magazine covers? That was a major plot hole for me, and despite my loving the premise of the story, made it just hedge over in unbelievable, versus, 'unlikely-but-believable' territory. Nevertheless, well-fleshed-out, and fun.

I chose this rating because the book was about all the back stabbing that goes on at these game shows. And I enjoyed Dean and Lana was a trouble making, I would get my friends and family to read this book, and I am going to read the rest of these books.

I stumbled upon this book by chance and thought I'd give it a chance and man was I surprised. Jessica Clare does an excellant job at writing as the story just flowed fluently. I loved both ABBY and DEAN. HEA - a must for everyone.

This was a good book about using The Survivor game show that was a very popular reality game. they used the simulator format for their book. This was a great book to read and I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a good read.

Cute story. Dean seems like a jerk at first, but you quickly learn he is a sweetheart. He's very protective of Abby and they make a great team in this story of a game show on an island. I got this book for free and it was better than many I've actually paid for. You'll be glad you read it.

As a former Survivor junkie and current romance junkie, I loved this book. The reality show in the book, Endurance Island, is an exact rip-off of Survivor, right down to the types of challenges. Abby reluctantly agrees to go on the show so she can write an insider story about her experience. Because going on the show isn't her idea, she doesn't have the killer instinct that most contestants who audition for reality shows have. Take, for instance, Dean, the man who stepped on her during the mass exodus from the boat in a rush to get to the island. Abby sees Dean as cocky and arrogant, even if he's the best-looking man she's ever seen. It's just her luck that he ends up being her partner and she's stuck alone with him, having to co-exist in their assigned camp. After a rocky start, they reach a fragile détente and it only gets better from there.
True fans of Survivor will recall the romance between Boston Rob and Amber that eventually led to their marriage. I loved every moment of this book and have purchased the next one in the series.

this story follows a girl who enters onto a reality show and isn't looking to meet someone and bam she does. It is very typical and somewhat predictable but it still was a good story. It also have a very cute and happy ending!!

I downloaded this book for free yesterday afternoon. The blurb sounded good and there were several good reviews, so I thought I'd give it a shot. To be honest, I wasn't expecting to like it. I've downloaded several free books since I got my Kindle and I usually find the adage "You get what you pay for" to be right on point. Rarely do I find one that I finish. Never have I found one that I was willing to keep. Wicked Games changed that.
I started reading last night and I was immediately caught up. Abby is a non-athletic bookworm type who gets paired with super-jock Dean in a survivor type reality show. From the beginning their relationship is rocky. Abby doesn't care for Dean at all and they find working together to be nearly impossible. Life at their campsite is tense and they are performing horribly on their challenges. It doesn't take long for them to figure out that they are going to have to work together if they want to win the game and soon things start to change between them. I didn't want to put it down. I read into the night eager to find out if Abby and Dean would end up together or if the game would tear them apart. There were a few twists at the end that I did not see coming at all.
I really enjoyed this book. The premise was familiar to me since I've watched a fair amount of reality shows in my day. The author made sure to add in the behind the back negotiations and dubious alliances that seem to run rampant on these types of shows. There were even questions about whether certain characters or situations had been edited to appear different. It made the whole thing feel more real because we've all asked ourselves those questions while watching Big Brother or Survivor. I thought the writing style was fluid and there were none of those jarring pull-you-out-of-the-book moments that make me stop reading and hit delete. I think if you're a reality show fan, you're really going to enjoy Wicked Games.

The plot was fun, different than the typical 'formula' and had some good action and twists. I enjoyed that it wasn't the typical flowery prose of romance, but dealt with some of the grit of television and the nastiness it can herald.

I've been a Survivor fan since the beginning (tho' after Boston Rob's overexposure last season I may give it up) so as a Kindle freebie this was a natural for me. I loved our down-to-earth heroine Abby's intelligent voice and there were a few scenes that were LOL funny. I'm sad to say there were a lot of annoying typos ("Dan" for "Dean") and grammatical errors (I, me, myself), not to mention "palm leafs".
Ms. Myles, hire me to proofread your next manuscript. I'm a slow reader and read every single word as I go so these things jump out at me. I work cheap. Thanks for the freebie.

I love the books Jill Myles writes. She writes under two other names as well. Jessica Sims and Jessica Clare.
The last thing Abby wanted to do was spend six weeks on tropical island. But when her boss offers up the chance of a lifetime for her, she agrees, reluctantly, to become a contestant on "Endurance Island"
The super sexy Dean, is obviously the athletic type. Handsome, nice body, model good looks, and an ego that has no bounds. Abby hates him on site.
And doesn't it just figure that Abby and Dean would become partnered up to play the game? These two mix like oil and water. They are going to have to learn to live and work together, or neither one of them will make it to the end, and the prize.
This was a very quick book to read. It was fun and sexy. I cant wait for the next one.

If you like the show survivor or something like that. Then you will love this book. I really did not think that, Dean and Abby would get back together in the end. I really thought that he was using her for a vote. But I was wrong.
