Laurann Dohners books are all hot. This one is no exception. It is the seventh in this series however so you may wish to start at the beginning if you've just stumbled across Tiger. Although it wouldn't be horrible to read as a standalone.

I loved this series you can read them separately but in order to get the best out of the books you should really read the whole series and after you read one of them you want to read the whole thing anyway. Can't decide if this one or Brawn are my favorite so far

I love how Laurann has carefully built and layered this world, and it's characters. There is a richness, and depth to The New Species books, that just pulls you in, and takes you there. Each book adds a new layer. Tiger was an interesting (and hot) alpha male, with a true need for a mate, that honestly just scared him silly. I loved Zandy, she had her own baggage, that she was dealing with on her own. They both internalized their fears, but were stronger together. The hate groups are an excellent "villain", because anywhere that bigotry flourishes, so does evil. This story is multidimensional, with the main story plot, and the emotional upheaval between the main characters, and hot, hot, sparks they are a flyin', chemistry! A definite MUST READ!
True (New Species Book 11) :: Sci-fi Alien Romance (Men of Omaron Book 1) - The Alien King's Baby :: Dark Planet Warriors :: Moon (New Species) (Volume 10) :: Seducing Stag (Cyborg Seduction) (Volume 10)

Every book in this series is a fresh storyline. This book was an excellent read. I highly recommend them. The stories will make more sense if you read them in order. Although, it's not necessary in order to enjoy them.

"Tiger" met all of my expectations! He was one of my favorite New Species since I met him in the first book in this series. Tiger was determined to not find a mate and he teased his friends unmercifully about their love for their human mates so his falling in love and with a human female of all things was delightful. Twice divorced, human Zandy was a wonderful choice for him because she did not want a male in her life any more than he wanted a female in his. At their first meeting Zandy thought he was a fallen angel and tried to seduce him. When she went to work for NSO she was embarrassed and did not want to have to interact with him. They are a wonderful couple and this book was fabulous. If you are a New Species fan you will love it and if you are not a New Species fan you should be because the books are all marvelous.

This is quite a romantic book. None of the other books thus far have explored the human aspect of dating. However in this book Tiger is drawn to several human dating rituals. Also it probably is good that they have perfect bodies and great big dicks!

Again a fabulous book by Laurann Dohner. You can never go wrong with one of her New Species books. Tiger is one of my favorites, he has been amazing in the previous stories and to see him finally get his own story was worth the wait.

Great story, love the characters and especially Tiger. Nice sizzling love scenes and plenty of drama and suspense. Even though I am an 'older' reader & this is more towards YA I felt the story was enaging & suspenseful enough and moved well towards a relatively predictable ending, nicely done.

The book had me going from the beginning. Zandy, I felt should have slapped tiger for lying to her and trying to get her pregnant. I would love to see a book with how a species male would handle a pregnant human. I think that would be hilarious. Just a thought.

It was great watching Tiger finally meet his match in Zandy. Though the beginning was a bit of a rough start, I thought that the two were strong characters and fit each other perfectly. We had some questions answered about the medications that were tested on the NS and how they affected them. Though they both fought their attraction to each other, at the start, once the "mating ritual" began, there was really nothing they could do about it. It was cute to hear how Tiger felt and how much he needed Zandy as a mate, but he put up a good fight before falling into a relationship he couldn't stop. And, Zandy, having such bad luck with her previous relationships, couldn't fight the inevitable either. The kidnapping of Zandy and subsequent rescue painted a perfect picture of the zealots who were protesting outside the gates. There was quite a bit more conflict in this book, and it made for a good story.

This one was one of my favorites, because Tiger preached his dislike of the human/NS relationships so vividly. Yet, he had little control when he finally met a human woman who won his heart. Thanks for another great NS story, Ms Dohner. I'm looking forward to the next one.

Tiger follows Laurann Dohner's pattern with this latest installment of the New Species series. Her novels revolve around the courtship (mostly steamy) of a new species male and a human female. There is enough conflict and character development to be entertaining and yet they are light enough to be quickly read and understood. I enjoy this series for the detour they provide from more complex urban/fantasy reads and because Dohner tie's up all loose ends while providing the reader with a sense of completion for the characters introduced.

Another good one from author. Follow the New Species Series because it is great. Already looking forward to the new one. Great books all around. It's a must read. Characters are great and the books have everything from a good story line that you actually feel for the characters. Strong males and the women who try to tame them, which does not always work. You won't be disappointed.

Laurann Dohner's books straddle the genres of romance and erotica. This book stoutly favored erotica over romance. Yes, it has the classic HEA, which is a romance requirement, but a significant portion of the storytelling is devoted to the hot sex scenes, often to the detriment of the story line and the development of the characters.

Tiger has been with us for awhile in the series, so we come to this story already knowing the guy a bit. He always came across as fun-loving and even light-hearted. I remember especially his frustration (and honor) with Valiant when Valiant abducts Tammy from his front lawn and takes her into his house for some forced seduction. Tiger has continuously loved to tease his fellow New Species every time they fall in love and mate with a weak, puny human. So I was especially looking forward to his own fall.

Yet, throughout the story, despite repeatedly being told by the narrator that he was reluctant to actually mate with Zandy, he never really struggles much with the concept at all. How can a perfect set-up developed over many books fizzle with such a lack of ceremony? Neither character fights the attraction. Attempts to create barriers to their HEA are either repetitive (another abduction by the baddies as in _Valiant_, although with a somewhat fresh twist in its final scene), lackadaisical self-doubting by both characters, deus-ex-machina interventions (like Tiger's temporary rejection of Zandy being a consequence of a reaction to drugs rather than a true anxiety of putting her in danger--so, hey no problems about hurting her feelings; she takes him right back) and, more often than not, a substitution of no communication for miscommunication.

In the end, the sex takes over and dominates the plot. As usual, the sex is good, interesting, hot...which is what makes the book a satisfying piece of erotica. But the sex doesn't completely make up for the story's lack of emotional development between these two relationship-shy characters; nor do we ever really understand why they individually caved into their baser needs instead of developing into more complete beings. Neither is particularly dynamic or changes inside from the start to the end. We know they love each other because we are told they love each other. We know they would do anything for each other because we are told both risk their lives for each other. Too much telling, not enough showing through meaningful internal musings and shared conversations.

In the end, we get shells of characters, not rich, interesting and complex characters who struggle with their own fears and doubts, but ultimately make the personal changes/sacrifices to win their soul mate. (In fact, with the constant parade of new Male Species wanting to bed and mate Zandy, one wonders whether all it really ever takes is a session of sex between any human female and any New Species male to seal the deal--no magic of personality, values, goals, etc. required for a special connection). Dohner does so many things right, I wish she'd invest the time and words into transforming her characters into more than copy-cat Tarzan and Jane stereotypes. In this story, she seems to hint at and then skirt the exciting edge of the couple's tendency to act out a uniquely dominant-submissive relationship, but in the end, she steps away from a full commitment to it. That's the nagging sense I get throughout the book--we are reaching, reaching, reaching for that special connection, but it just stays beyond our scope.

In the end, the book is significantly better than _Wrath_, but still falls short of the earlier titles.

Laurann Dohner does it again! All of her books are great reads. Has sexual tension, an awesome alpha male and a great female lead. Enjoy seeing the male fight for his female. I will always buy her books because I know I won't ever be disappointed. Thank you Laurann!

The book was very entertaining. I enjoyed reading it and once you start you don't want to put it down. I love the hot romance, the humor in book is never boring. Not only does it have Romance but it also has Action and suspense. I love the parts when the "bad guys" get what they deserve lol.
