I selected the book based on the strong rating and description in the short synopsis, but was disappointed. Bit too chatty and too thin for my literary taste. Did not hold my interest. Took long time to develop the story. Stopped reading after chapter 9. Coming to Rosemont

I liked the book and the character. Rosemont is a very romantic place. I got to the last page, and the book just ended. I was a bit disappointed by the ending. But I just finished the next one.....again, I wasn't ready for the ending, albeit a nice ending. Now I am on Book 3.

Coming to Rosemont was an enticing, attention-grabbing, women's issues fiction. Maggie lost her husband and only then discovered his infidelity and an inheritance in Westbury, the manor called Rosemont. Shocking news but she rallied and decided to make changes in her life. In spite of her over-protective children, she made her moves and found a new fulfilling life in a different community, where she meets and helps people who accepted her and made her welcome.

A strong, feisty lady who refused to let life's swings and roundabouts, derail her. She focused on her inner strength and was able to make new friends in her fabulous new home even adopt a stray that brought comfort and joy to her spirit.

Barbara's imagery in the descriptions of Rosemont was enthralling. You wanted to go to visit, walk in the gardens, sit an enjoy the ambiance. Also, ramble through Westbury's shopping area looking at the shops, when the bakery especially, called to you. I really like her writing style, which draws you in and encourages flights of fancy while reading this marvelous, intriguing story with a little suspense and of course a budding romantic interest,

Great read! Keep it up. Your writing style is superb. I enjoyed every moment of the first and couldn't wait to read the second.

Purchased this because it was likened to Jan Karon's Mitford Series but I personally see no correlation. Story and writing okay but just didn't grab me. In fact I don't think I even finished reading the last few chapters.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and found it hard to put down. Already have ordered second book in the series to find out continuation of storyline. Certainly hope Maggie has a good outcome and starts a new life with the town vet. Anxiously awaitung Book 2.

What an abrupt unfulfilled ending!! Needed to play the story out, to see the bad guy get nailed and the love story fulfilled.. Sure it's understood but the book would have been so much better if it didn't end so abruptly!! I was very disappointed.. The story it self was going great and enjoyable until the end!!

Very entertaining and engulfing from the get go. The description of the mansion makes me want to visit as a guest. I love the characters and the description of the town. Makes me want to live, again, in a smaller community.

I absolutely loved this book! Great characters and compellingly storyline. I have all five books in this series and I am on to reading Weaving the Strands. I found Coming to Rosemont a potpourri of everything I love in a book. Romance, intrigue, and interesting, believable characters. Must read!!!

Mindless weekend story that holds your interest and takes your mind off "other stuff". If you're looking to read something that will give you something to think about, this is not the book. It worked for me!

The idea of a series starring a forensic accountant could work. But this book is not very interesting. The plot and dialogue are wooden and predictable. And there are cringe-inducing spelling and word substitution errors all over the place. Barbara Hinske needs to learn that discreet and discrete are two different words, just as one example. Whoever edited this, if it was even edited, needs to go back to their day job. Can't believe I paid money for this.

I liked many things about Coming to Rosemont (and the sequel Weaving the Strands), but one thing I found VERY annoying is that neither story ends. There's no resolution, except a sort of 'to be continued' feel. Apparently there's another installment in the works. I guess that's one way to sell books, but I think it's manipulative. I won't be buying the next one.

All the books by Barbara Hinske are great. They introduce you to characters that you really care about and they keep you guessing about what will happen next. I can hardly wait for book #4 to be released.

Having looked forward to reading this novel because of it reportedly being similar to Downton Abbey, I was very disappointed. Further, it seemed to drag on in the storyline, so much so that I eventually stopped reading it halfway through because it did not keep my interest.

I thoroughly enjoyed Rosemont. It is such a nice "slice of life" series. If you love Jan Karon's Mitford series and Marie Bostwick's Cobble Court series, you will love this also. The author is working on book 4 and I know I will read it. I love books that just take you away and let you glimpse into someone else's life. The author has done a great job.

Once I started reading, I had a hard time putting this story down. It is well written with engaging characters and a story that flows smoothly. A great, light read for my lunch hour and after a stressful day at work. I hated to get to the end but have book 2 to entertain me now. My favorite aspect is that the main characters are in my age group (let's just say over 40). It's rare to find modern women's fiction today that doesn't feature only 19-25 year olds and unrealistic scenarios. Also, having an adorable dog among the characters helps. The lovely thing about this story is that it could happen in real life, which makes it even more engaging and entertaining. Great job Barbara Hinske! I am reading Weaving the Strands now and can't wait to read more of her work. Barbara Hinske will be one of my "go to" authors from now on.
