The Christy Miller series and also the Sierra Jenson series have been some of the best books i have ever read. Robbin Jones Gunn is such a wonderful writer that you can't help but keep reading. After I had finished reading the Christy Miller Series and Todd and Christy the college years I had to recomend it to my friend who ended up loving them just as much as I do. We have actually stayed up very late together reading our books. The Book "Summer Promise" is what really gets you attached to the characters and is a wonderful beginning. Christy Miller ends up going to visit her aunt and uncle in southern California for the summer and to her surprise ends up getting a makeover from her aunt. Her aunt Marti then encourages her to go make some friends on the beach which ends up being the start to a few very special friendships and Christy also meets a lucky guy who she ends having more than a friendship with but that is all I am going to say. All the friends then have to deal with a close friends death and that is extremly sad. This book over all was one of my favorites and I recomend it to anybody looking for a great romantic, christian novel.

I would like to thank Robin Jones Gunn for writting this series and having it be avaiable to read in Utah. When I first saw this book series, I was so happy that I found a Christian book series in a prominate L.D.S. state. This series helped me to get interested in reading and reading faster and injoying what I am reading. I related to the girls in the story expecilly Christy when she talks to her self, I tend to do that a lot. It made me so happy that she meet Todd but it kind of made me jellous in wanting a good Christian relationship with a guy. I have never read books so fast and been so interested in what I am reading until I found this. I even prayed that I would find a good Christian book that I could relate to and now that I have I am so very thankful. This book is the start of all of the books if you don't read this one first it will be soo confusing so I highly suggest that you read them in order. So thank you again to Robin Jones Gunn for writting this series for me and many other young women mostly out there. It used to be kind of hard to get this series because the next one had a lot of holds on them because other teenagers were out there reading this wonderful series. So If you haven't had the chance to read these books give it a chance it can change your life because I know it has changed mine.

I fell in love with Christy Miller series back when my sister Heather handed me the second book.( read it out of order first). So when I read Summer Promise I knew that this series would be my favorite.
Christy Miller spends a summer with her Uncle Bob And Aunt Marty in Newport Beach Ca. There she finds friendship with a not so pleasant girl and some nice attention from a hot surfer boy. There she learns about friendship with true Christ followers and what life with party people can be like. In the end you will laugh, cry and cheer Christy on in this beloved series.

When my daughter reached about 5th grade, she got so busy with homework that she stopped reading for fun. She hasn't read a non-school issued book in 4 years. Now she is in 9th grade and I bought her this book based on the reviews because they have to do silent reading in class every Friday. She loved it so much and finished it so fast that she is already on to the next volume book 4-6. She says its the best book ever. She is now having a hard time getting her homework done because all she wants to do is read and find out what happens. Last night she was supposed to be researching a paper on our laptop and when I walked by to check on her, she had the book behind the screen where she was reading it in secret. I think that says it all about how good it is.

The story of Christy Miller goes from her preteen years up through college and finally to her wedding. (This book is the first in the series.) It's a coming-of-age story of a Christian young woman. Themes include purity, relationships, romance, school stress, family issues, and negative influences.
Each story in the series has a moving ending, is uplifting, entertaining, and makes you feel as though you are friends with each person in the story. Well written and enjoyable - I highly recommend.

The christy miller books are amazing and they'll teach a girl how to live a life of faith. To know what to do, when love comes your way and what to do about it. Excellent books. In this volume, it combines the first three books. Summer promise starts off Christy feeling like an outsider and not fitting in anywhere, but then becomes a christian. The characters are very real. Happy reading!

I just fell in love with the Christy Miller series. Finally theres a great Christian teen book out there with actual morels. Its a nice break from Gossip girls. It opened up my eyes about God and everything. It also opened my life to reading. This book shows that Christians make mistakes too. If your a girl interested in Christianity then you should definitely read the bible first but if your just looking for someone to relate to i would recommend this book.

I highly recommend this book to all teenage girls because it has very many captivating features that will make you never want want to stop reading. That is the perfect part you do not have to stop reading because this book is three books in one.So after you finish the first one you have two more stories just waiting for you to fall in love with. The best part about this book is that while your reading you get to learn morals because this book is christian based. There is no where you can go wrong with this book it is all around utterly amazing.

After many failed attempts during the past few years to find a book or series of books for her to read for pleasure, I gave this book to my 14 yr. old daughter, Amber, in June hoping she would enjoy reading it this summer...I am thrilled to say that she couldn't put it down!!! Not only have I also purchased Vols. II, III and IV for her (she is currently reading Vol. IV)...she has shared her love of the books with her friends and now they have the series and are reading them!!! This has made me so very happy...especially since these are Christian based books with valuable life lessons for our teens. What a wonderful gift to be able to give to our teenage daughters in this challenging & confusing world we live in~~~Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Robin Jones Gunn...from the bottom of my heart!!!!

Christy Miller is a fourteen year old girl who is staying with her aunt in California for the summer. While in Cali, she makes two new friends and her life isn't the same after.
I have always heard and seen the Christy Miller series and I was excited when I got the chance to review them! Nothing about this book disappointed me, I love the plot along with all of the characters. The close attention to detail, sucked me in to her world full of ups and downs.
I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review.

Great read for girls! My daughters friends in eighth grade are eating it up! And they were surprised to hear that a MOM was reading the series too! But they decided that they were great books, and Moms SHOULD read them as well...Lots of age appropriate conversation starters from a God perspective. Dating, friendships, et cetera.

This series is timeless and very special. I read these books while in middle school. I came across my old copies as I was packing up my house after graduating college and a sat down and read the first book and became teary eyed at all the memories that came rushing back. I remember in church all of my girls' Sunday school class use to joke and say how we couldn't wait til our own Todd Spencer :). Needless to say, we all have found ours now. This series has taught many valuable lessons and I can't wait to share this with my own daughter. The books are packed with many Godly messages and are a must read for all young women.

Summer Promise is the story of Christy Miller, a 14-year-old girl from Wisconsin that is spending her summer with her aunt and uncle in California. She has trouble making friends in the beginning, but after her aunts gives her a complete makeover she gains the confidence to finally go out and socialize. Her new friends seem wonderful, but looks can be deceiving. Christy has a wild and eventful summer, during which she learns all about herself.
This is another book that, as a mom, I would encourage my daughter to read in her teens. Though Christy has to deal with some tough issues, including death and finding herself, she shows younger girls that it is okay to be upset. The main message I took from this book was that when you put your life in God's hands, he will help you deal with your problems.
I give this book 5 out of 5 stars. It is a wonderfully wholesome and entertaining story. This book was hard to put down. Though the religious aspect was a bit overpowering at some parts, I couldn't help but wonder what was going to happen next. I'm still left wondering what is going to happen next, and encourage you to read the story and find out why.
