Although I figured out who the bad guy was pretty early in the book, it was still a good read. I have not read any of the other books in the series, so my opinion may be even better once I do read the rest of the books in the series.

Loved all the authentic aquarium information. Sometime the characters were confusing. Story in general was good but the Warren character was a little little"empty" Needed to know more about him in the story I feel. But then I am not an author only a reader!!

Rebecca's Schwartz needs a vacation, but it's much like work when within hours of arriving in Monterrey a dead body is found and her friend is the prime suspect.

I enjoyed this book. I felt the crimes were what we'd find in life rather than over the top Hollywood style. The characters' motivations and reactions appeared natural and not forced to fit the story.
Clean Slate (Jim Knighthorse Book 4) :: Personal Justice (A Marc Kadella Legal Mystery Book 5) :: The Palace Job (Rogues of the Republic) :: INSPIRATION FOR THE THRILLING AMAZON PRIME SERIES JACK RYAN :: Remo Went Rogue (Remo Cobb)

This fourth outing in the Rebecca Schwartz series does not disappoint. Julie Smith has done it again with a fascinating mystery set at the Aquarium in Monterey Bay California. This departure from the usual San Francisco locale gives us a glimpse behind the scenes as a murderer prowls behind the scenes at the country's largest Kelp forest display. The denouement will leave you breathlessly waiting for the next installment in this not to be missed series.

This is the second Rebecca Schwartz mystery I've read - they're lighthearted, and easy to read. Rebecca does seem to have a knack for getting clients who are a bit whacky or wind up dead or accused of being a killer.

I won't say I was rivteted to the book to find out who did it - but I was enjoying the story as it unfolded and that's one of the best things a book can offer is a good escape.

I loved this book. Rebecca Schwartz is a great character whom I find quite interesting. I was unable to put the book down until it was read. I was hooked from the start and was exhausted by the end of this story. The ending was a bit of a surprise. For those who don't want to read bad language and/or are squeamish at all, then this is not a book you'll want to read. This story reminds me so much of how Stephen King writes. I was horrified at times and there were some places where humor was used, which made these areas a little more easier to read. I enjoyed reading about the Monterey Bay area and the saltwater aquarium they have which is so unique. The info about sea otters was interesting as well. There were a few too many words I had to look up in the dictionary and I thought I had a wide range of vocabulary but found out perhaps not so much as I previously thought. I really hope I don't have any nightmares after reading this. It's really quite a page turner.
