You can always depend upon Brad Thor to deliver a fast reading, interesting, suspensful story. The twists and turns will keep you glued to the page, until the very end.....makes a great summer read.

Thor provides just enough detail to paint a picture of the situation and get the reader involved. The stories seem to be complicated and provide enough risk to result in more than one outcome. Therefore,it I so suspenseful, I can't put the book down .

The "Prelude to Hidden Order" is a worthy antecedent to "Hidden Order" (Scott Harvath # 12), the book I am reading now. The whole series is sensational, and I would recommend the book series to all those who like this kind of fiction!

This is a nail biting tidbit that whets the appetite for the full length novel. Brad delivers all the thrills and edge of your sanity chills that leave you jumping up and running to the computer to order the whole thing.

Nice concept.

Brad Thor whets the reader's appetite with this lead in to Hidden Order. Action packed in this short preclude he has set the stage for another Scott Horvath mission. I can't wait to start Hidden Order and pick up where Free Fall left off.

I really like the way the writer introduces the characters along with their backgrounds. The first page got my attention immediately. I could tell this was going to be a "page turner" as I did not want to put the book down.
It reminded me of some of my other favorite authors, namely Vince Flynn and Clive Custer...excellent drama and suspense.
I would highly recommend this read to anyone who likes a good thriller.

Loved this brief little "booklet" It grabs you right away and gives you good background for Hidden Order. I am currently in the early chapters of Hidden Order but really glad I had Free Fall to build upon. Get it, the price is right.

Only if it could have been longer. Too short for me. With Vince Flynn no longer with us, Brad Thor is now completely alone atop this genre. Scot Harvarth is as good as Mitch Rapp and Jack Bauer ever were. But take a page ( or many pages ) from Stephen King, and write a massive size book that won't take me one day to read.

I hope that having a prelude printed separately from the main book does not catch on.... I actually thought I was getting a book!!! Why not just let readers see a preview of the main book? Am I missing something here?

This Preclude was pretty much standard fare for Brad Thor's hero Scott Horvath, but then reading the book itself it pretty much turns it around... the hero seems to be getting upstaged every other page but other characters... and admits just a few times to many that he does not have a clue throughout the book... Sorry to see you out to pasture, Scott... but it was great while it lasted.

The prelude is misleading and it has nothing to do with the book except that the events in the short prelude happened before the events in the book. I felt a bit suckered, expecting the book to be a continuation of the prelude theme. It wasn't.

Great series, great hero, well written. Constant action while maintaining enough grounding to be believable. Good level of detail--explains enough that the action does not seem choppy while avoiding long paragraphs of descriptive prose.

Brad Thor usually introduces us to the bad guys in an unusual and unpredictable way and these bad guys may be some of the worst. Your interest is piqued right from the start as a highly placed government employee is kidnapped. Can't wait to read the entire Hidden Order novel.

I am anxiously awaiting Hidden Order and this was a great prelude. Brad is one of my favorite authors along with the late Vince Flynn, Steve Berry and Daniel Silva. I never miss a publication date on any of their books.

Never read Brad Thor before- I think I would enjoy his other works. I liked this one, and forgetting that it was only a prelude, I was pretty shocked to be suddenly left hanging at the end. Good writers do that, I suppose- and I WILL be grabbing the next one, and most likely the ones after that as well!

Why write a forty page "book" that should have been the first chapter of Hidden Order. It was good, but didn't even last through one glass of wine. I got the ebook from the library - would be very upset if I had paid anything for this.
