"Rocky Mountain Romance" is written by Vivian Arend, and it is the 7th book in her Six Pack Ranch series. It can be read as a stand-alone book. This story features Melody Langley and Steve Coleman.

Melody Langley is back in town and has taken up an offer to work again at Rocky Mountain House for a veterinary position. Steve Coleman has always regretted the way he and Melody broke up last year. He has been waiting for his opportunity to have another chance with her, and he wants to prove he's a different man. Their sex life was never the problem, or was it?

After Melody and Steve talk one night, Melody taunted Steve by saying she thought he was too vanilla. But that can't be right. Steve is left speechless, and what happens next had me rolling. Steve reluctantly looked up non-vanilla sex on the computer to figure out how to get Melody's attention. Of course, this was also when his brother, Gabe, caught him looking said information up.

But eventually, Melody agrees to give Steve another chance. After all, they have that history and their chemistry is still undeniable. Melody gives Steve 3 months to see if he's a changed man. Steve does everything to show he is, and of course, he shows Melody that their sex life is far from vanilla.

What I enjoyed about this "Rocky Mountain Romance" as the story progressed is how Melody and Steve's relationship grew. You could tell they were a different couple from last year. They talked through their problems. They supported each other. They learned to compromise. But most of all, they showed they truly loved one another.

"Rocky Mountain Romance" is the first book that I've read by Vivian Arend, and I'm glad I was invited to read this story! I genuinely enjoyed the Coleman clan! I may have started late in this series, but I can already tell I'm going to love the Coleman family much like I love Bella Andre's Sullivan family or Marie Force's McCarthy family. The Coleman family have that type of camaraderie that will make you laugh at their antics and appreciate the closeness amongst them. Looking forward to catching up on the rest of the Six Pack Ranch series, and I can't wait for the upcoming books! This is a must-read book!

This second chance at love romance is the story of Steve and Melody. In their first go around mistakes were made on both sides and breaking up seemed like the best option for both of them. But when Melody returns to Rocky Mountain House after finishing her schooling Steve seems to have changed, and indeed he wants a chance to prove to Melody that he is not the man he was before. With a three month ultimatum, can Steve beat Melody's deadline and prove to her once and for all that they belong together?

This was a really fun story! Part of the enjoyment of this series is the interaction of all of the characters - witty dialogue, humorous situations, and emotional and heartfelt moments all play a role in bringing the story to life. I loved both of the main characters. Steve acknowledges that he made mistakes in the past and he's worked hard to become a more responsible, caring individual. His attraction to Melody never ended, but now he has the wherewithal to show her that he's matured and isn't going to take her for granted. Melody is a strong and feisty woman, taking on a traditional men's job as a big animal veterinarian and having to deal with the discrimination of the old timers because of it. She needs Steve's support and he is prepared to give it. The sexual chemistry between Steve and Melody is delightful and results in several steamy well written love scenes. But along with great sex is the realization that they have strong feelings for each other and trusting one another in the bedroom is just the first step towards trusting each other with their hearts.

Overall I found this to be a sexy entertaining read and another great instalment in the six pack ranch series!

I received an ARC through NetGalley for an honest review.

Getting my grubby little hands on this one had me squeeing with joy while doing a happy little booty shaking dance in my seat because I’ve really enjoyed this series, as well as the spin off series, Thompsons and Son. I love Vivian Arend’s no muss no fuss style of writing where she gives the reader a solid story about the main HEA couple while keeping you caught up on past couples, as well as the family at large, and feeding you just enough information about new storylines without making you feeling like it was added in as fluff and with this installment she does it again.

After Melody pours a pitcher of beer over Steve’s head and breaks up with him, he realizes that she is right about his lack of ambition, not only when it came to their relationship, but to how he looks at his life in general and starts to make a concerted effort to become the man that he wants to be and hopefully the man that Melody will give a second chance too.

I really don’t know how anyone couldn’t love Steve in this story. He’s sweet, sexy, fun, can play the guitar and makes the effort to win back the woman he lost. He takes the time to get to know her and mans up by asking for help from his family members, while accepting advice from them and acknowledging when he’s screwed up. And there’s Melody, I have nothing but respect for a woman who respects herself, but also one who realizes that it takes two to tango. As she spends more time with Steve she figures out that it wasn’t only Steve’s fault that things didn’t work out the first time around and starts to make changes herself.

Sweet, hot, Steve does kick it up a few notches, fun and funny ~ I laughed out loud more than once, especially at the udders comment which was something of a mix of a laugh and snort. I loved catching up with the rest of the Coleman clan, though I still want to reach through the pages and Gibbs smack Jesse, and can’t wait for the next book.

Steve Moonshine Coleman has only one shot to prove that he can be the man veterinarian Melody Langley needs this time around in this captivating contemporary western romance.

This steady to fast paced plot captivates readers with suspense and passion. Vivian Arend brings the story to life with well written scenes and details that inspire vivid images and captures the imagination while the suspense and the strong compelling characters draw the reader into the story and ensure that they want to know the whole story.

Melody and Steve still have strong undeniable chemistry between them which leads to frequent sizzling white hot sex scenes that Melody spices up by challenging his vanilla ways, but the relationship needs some work. The reader can’t help but get caught up in the story as Steve uses his three months to prove that he has grown up and changed enough to be the man Melody needs him to be. Melody and Steve’s attraction leaps off the pages and the romance have sparks flying as the two try to work on their issues and some work and family issues that pop up along the way.

Anticipation comes in the form of whether a second chance at their happily ever after is possible, humor comes in from snarky and some dirty talking, heat from a sexy cowboy, sass from a top notch veterinarian and lots of family love, loyalty and ribbing make this a very well rounded charming and fun happily ever after romance. I was completely caught up in the story from the very beginning - the Coleman family is always entertaining and the more that I get to know them the more I like to visit and I can’t wait to read the next one.

Melody is returning home after a year of schooling. The one person that she doesn't want to see is Steve. When she left she dumped a pitcher of beer over his head. So why is it that the first thing she does when she gets back is drive by his place? Steve tries to convince her to give him another chance. That he has changed. Can she believe him? She gives him 3 months to prove it to her.

Steve knows that he messed up with Melody and all he can think about is getting her back. So when she tells him that their sex life was good but a little too vanilla for her he now knows that he can be with her without holding back like he did before. He now has 3 months to prove to her that he has changed and that he can rock her world.

My Opinion:

I have loved every book that I have read by Vivian Arend and this book is no different. However this is the first book that I have read in this series. As I didn't get too lost I feel that this book can be read as a stand alone, although it really does seem as if I missed some interesting stories in previous books so I am eager to start this series from the beginning. This book was able to grab my attention from the beginning and hold it. The sexual scenes definitely got steamier as the book went on. I definitely recommend reading even if you haven't read any other books in the series.

I LOVE VIVIAN AREND!!!!! Ok now that we have that out of the way. I'm so happy to be back with the Coleman crew. It is impossible for me to let this family go and thankfully it must be just as hard for Viv cause she keeps on giving us more. In Rocky Mountain Romance we get to know another one of the Coleman cousins. Steve clearly pissed off Melody, but he's ready to own up to his mistakes and win her back. It's really hard not to like the version of Steve we meet in this book, but there are some not so great glimpses into his past that make you understand why Melody wasn't willing to stay with him. These two are supper hot when they get naked together and Steve loves trying to find new things to do with her. There were some times when I got frustrated with Melody and thought she was being to hard on Steve. What's a relationship without a little self manufactured drama though. lol All in all Viv has given us another great addition to the Six Pack series. I always think that the current book is my new favorite, but then I read the next one and it takes the top spot. I can't wait for the next book!

I loved this book! The characters were easy to love and the story itself, easy to follow. The history between the two main characters was a nice twist. All in all, a great read with just enough heat to keep your heart fluttering, as Steve and Melody find their way to putting their relationship on track for a lifetime together. I will definitely be looking for more from this author, and especially this series.

A second chance romance... Melody's parting words and a pitcher full of beer in the face made an impression. Steve wanted to become a better person and do all that he could to get her back. After being away for awhile to learn more for her chosen profession, Melody returns to town... and comes face to face with Steve. He wants a chance to show her he has changed, but she is not convinced. While they deal with their attraction, she also has to deal with some of the town folk believing she cannot do her job.
Very entertaining interactions between all of the characters. It was great to revisit a bunch of them that we have seen before in other books. I really enjoyed seeing the romance between Steve and Melody develop and grow. This book was a truly wonderful read! What a great addition to the series!

Rocky Mountain Romance is the first in this series that I have had the opportunity to read. It read very well as a stand-alone though there is plenty of family to go around. It is a cowboy’s version of the second chance with the one he truly loves. The chemistry is hot, hot, hot! However, the cowboy has to work to regain his love’s affections.

The characters, Steve and Melody are a likable couple. I think that there are many women who can identify with Melody’s feelings of being taken for granted. Steve does a bang up job of showing her what she means to him.

Vivian Arend writes so that the conflict is realistic while the solution is not easy but worth it. Her solid writing makes the second chance at love story a winner.

4 Hot-Country-STARS!!!!

When I started this book I really had no high expectations because the love rekindled story never really appeals to me. But I am a fan of Ms Arend and this series I absolutely love.

The book starts off pretty slowly or atleast that is what I originally thought but in hindsight I appreciated the character building particularly Melody POV. She's a strong Heroine who knows what she wants and makes it absolutely clear from the offset. A very admirable trait for me personally was the focus on her career too not because it was a must-do job but one she very passionate about.
These days authors tend to lean into writing heroines that "fall" into their guys and never crawl out of that hole and shine as individuals. So a big-ups to the author for that!

The real romance only gets started at about 40% into the book and by starts I mean it STARTS. Boy did it get Steamy!

Steve was an annoying Hero in the beginning because he seemed like a big lug of nothing between the ears but the man does display his smarts and can be considerably charming when it comes to the pursuit of his lady-love and that mouth.... yeah that mouth sold it....

All in all a great romance story.... And a solid 4 STARS!!

Very well told tale. Female animal vet showing she has the guts to go along with the education. Good descriptions of small town life, everyone is into everything. Good character development, with a good pace to keep you interested. First book of hers I have read, I will now be looking for others.

I've read the Rocky Mountain series so I looked forward to the latest one. I was not disappointed. We have the successful combination of a sexy cowboy and strong lady getting together. This is an enjoyable read with enough hot sex mixed in with family scenes to keep you interested. I happen to enjoy this family with all their faults and strengths. Melody is the perfect mix of smart and confident lady who wants nothing more than to be part of a family. Steve proves that he's grown up and sees what he wants in Melody. Love the way their second chance in love works out.

Another great book by Ms. Arend. They had been together for two years, he was stupid, she moved away and now she's back. I loved how Melody and Steve worked their way to I love you. There was no instalove even with their history. Loved, loved, loved seeing all the Coleman and Thompson's. Can't wait to find out more about Lee and his mystery woman. And one of these days I will get around to reading Freedom and find all about Travis, Cassidy and Ashley.

Steve Coleman knew he loved Melody Langley and he was determined now that she was back in town to win her over for good.

Melody is a full time vet for the small town space that she and Steve share and Melody is going to work on making the relationship compatible. But with Steve wanting more can Melody really trust him again or will he break her heart all over again. Melody’s career is being taken up a notch with taking over the large animal part of the practice and having to deal with ranchers who are not quite living in the 21st century as far are women vets are concerned. But with some determination she is going to make them see her as a success and trying again with Steve may be just what she needs for a future with him or closure.

They had something great together and their romantic relationship was always red hot but once she issues the challenge to take Steve that they could do more, he says okay let me show you what I have in mind. Things go well between them and the feelings they have for the land, family, and each other prove that love can survive when you learn the art of compromise.

Received an ARC copy for a honest review. First off, I love second chance books and this one was a winner. Sat up into the wee hours of the morning to read. Loved this author's writing style. She makes the characters believable and easy to relate to. Storyline is well written, entertaining and steamy. Loved the interaction between not only Steve and Melody but all the characters. I haven't read all in this series yet but plan to. Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful and talented veterinarian falls for her old cowboy flame. This is part of a large series with each story about a different Coleman family member. Although this is the first I've read of Arend's books I was not lost and found I wanted to read more about other characters. You can tell by the cover it will be a sexy read, although the characters picture aren't a good match for the story. I found the story fun, lots of gratuitous sex and slightly romantic. I'm giving only three stars because I wasn't really wowed by the romance and their relationship. My copy was given by the publisher through Netgalley for my honest review.

RMR is a perfectly sweet, sexy, and low angst second chance love story. There’s nothing much to say bad about his book, although nothing mind-blowing happened either. It was just what I needed to get me back to the Coleman and Thompson clans.

A wonderful second chance story that will make all the other second chance romances fade away. This is a book that will have you burning the midnight oil, not wanting to stop reading it! The author does a great job grabbing her audience and not letting go until the end.

Steve's thoughts about Melody tend to be very carnal, "then damn is she didn't free his fingers instead and plant both palms against the front of his shirt. Lord, the temptation to wrap himself around her was strong. "Curious about what?" He's also an upfront type of man, "because I like the view." He traced her lips with his tongue, exploring as he held her in place, the back of her head cradled in the palm of his hand. "Melody - the next time we have sex, so we need a condom?" He's always trying to put a funny in situations, "you're the one who just rode me like pogo stick." He winked, then put his arms around her waist and tucked her in tight for the ride home." I love me some cowboys and I loved Steve.

Not my favorite release in this series. I felt Melody was trying to take Steve's man card away too much. She rubbed me the wrong way through this whole book. Not a fan of Melody and I think that took away from me enjoying this release. Love this series but I wont read this one again.
If your a fan, you know to expect hot sexy scenes and there are plenty in this one but too much description about how Melody had to fit in with the good old boys club. I wasn't interested in how she was coping or feeling. I skimmed through these pages. Steve deserved a better heroine IMO....

A little disappointed in this one because LOVED the first six! Steve and Melody just did not fit. Could not get into their passive/aggressive romance. But will still keep on reading series as I am a Vivian At end FAN!
