"A good guy from the wrong side of the Coleman family. Gabe swept me off my feet." ~Under the Covers

Every time I read a book about these hot Canadian cowboys I know I'm in for a sweet, hot and sexy ride. This book was no different, even though I can't say it was my favorite in the series.

Gabe and Allison have been friends their whole lives. They both moved away and Gabe came back a while back to try to make his family ranch profitable. His middle brother had died leaving his family torn up and him full of guilt. His dad turned into a drunk and he left leaving behind his youngest brother to take the brunt of the effects. He is now back trying to make life easier for everyone in his family.

And then Allison comes back into town and dumps a big favor on his lap. She just found out her mother is very sick and she wants an excuse to move back to Rocky Mountain that won't raise her suspicions that she knows what's going on. And that would be Allison's engagement to Gabe.

This almost feels too easy for Gabe because he's always had a crush on her. But Ms. Arend managed to make Gabe work for Allison's affection. And what with him being such a sweet, tender and caring man, there was really no other choice for her but to fall and fall hard for this cowboy.

Gabe is one of those heroes that doesn't seem to be alpha on the surface, but deep down he's as possessive as any other alpha male. A good guy from the wrong side of the Coleman family. Gabe swept me off my feet He was also the pillar supporting so many other characters, and as the title suggests, being an angel. Sometimes too good for his own good. And when he lets his control go and goes after a woman, well lets just say I was a puddle at his feet.

And speaking of puddles, this book got down and dirty Skinny dipping, mud wrestling and some porch acrobatics. Allison and Gabe were hot and heavy anywhere they could.

We also get another small glimpse into Travis' life. He's going to be a hard one to read. He's obviously been going through a lot and I still can't figure out what his deal is. I really hope we get to read his book soon because I'm dying to see him in a happier place.

Ms. Arend we need to get these books faster!

Allison Parker has been dealt a terrible blow. She discovers that her beloved mother has an incurable illness and will leave her far sooner than she ever expected. Allison needs an excuse to move back home because she doesn't want her mother to know that she knows the truth. Allison needs something that her mother will believe and she's going to need some help. There is only one person that Allison can turn to...Gabe Coleman.

Gabe Coleman wants to turn his family ranch organic but getting support from his bitter father will never be easy. When Allison Parker walks back into his life with a way to help in exchange for a favor he is definitely tempted. But is Gabe ready to pretend to be Allison's fiancé?

Allison's plan is fool-proof. She and Gabe can pretend to be getting married and hopefully she can be there for her mother during this awful time without her mom getting suspicious. However, she never counted on having actual feelings for the cowboy. Watch what happens as sparks fly between a cowboy and an angel.

Vivian Arend gives the reader one heck of a sentimental and sweet romance in Rocky Mountain Angel. Get ready for laughter, tears, and a whole lot of love as you fly through the pages of Rocky Mountain Angel. There are so many wonderful aspects to this story. Gabe and Allison share potent chemistry and both characters are made of strong stock. Both Gabe and Allison have big hearts and it shows in the story. I couldn't help but feel for Gabe and the situation with his father. I ached for him during these horrible glimpses into what his life is and has been like with his father. Allison is going through one of the most difficult things I can imagine. She knows that her mother is going to die. How do you deal with that? I feel like Ms. Arend did an amazing job of taking her characters through the monumental emotions that go through people when they endure this kind of upheaval. Rocky Mountain Angel introduces us to more of the Coleman clan focusing on the Coleman cousins, however we still get plenty of page time with all of our favorite Six Pack Ranch characters. I enjoyed the expansion into the Coleman family and look forward to the next Six Pack Ranch series.

Rocky Mountain Angel (Six Pack Ranch #4) by Vivian Arend
* I received this ARC free from the author in exchange for an honest review*

Gabe Coleman is struggling with the making their ranch profitable, while dealing with his father who refuses to adapt with the changing times. His father puts him down every chance he gets and never lets him forget that he blames him for his brother's death. Gabe has a lot on his shoulders but still manages to be there for friends and family when they need him. When Allison shows up on his doorstep with an offer that will benefit them both, he can't help but agree to her plan. He just didn't realize that he would lose his heart in the process.

Allison's mom is keeping a secret that will destroy her brother and sister. She has to find a convincing way to move home without raising her mom's suspicion and Gabe Coleman seems to be the perfect answer. She offers to help him with the farm in exchange for him acting as her finance. Everything seems to be going as planned until she starts to develop real feelings for Gabe.

I love these two together. They are so good for each other; each provides something the other has been missing from their lives. Gabe has been struggling with his brother's death for years and his father hasn't helped matters either with his anger toward him. He spends his time working on the family farm while helping out friends and family when needed. When Allison comes to him with her plan to move back home, he can't bear to say no to her.

After Allison finds out her mother's secret, she would do anything to spare her brother and sister the grief they went through when their father died. She hatches a plan that will let her move home and be there for her family, with the help of Gabe. She doesn't realize how much she will come to rely on him and he will mean to her.

The two of them are so perfect for one another. They are there for each other while helping to heal old wounds. Gabe always tries to do the right thing but with his father always telling him he is worthless, he has a lot of self-doubt. Allison helps him see that he is worthy of love and loving someone. Gabe is Allison's rock, he is there for her throughout her mother's illness and makes not only her days better but her mother's too. She comes to rely on him when she has a rough day and they both tend to lean on each other when needed.

They have excellent chemistry and I loved the fact that they didn't just jump into bed with each other, even though they have known each other for a long time. They didn't let the sex complicate their relationship, but let the chemistry build naturally with them. The scene by the lake was full of sexy fun. I think one of my favorite scenes was the one in the rain at the end, very sweet.

The story focuses on Gabe and Allison but several of the other Coleman clan was mentioned in the story too. We are also introduced to a few new members of the family and Allison's family too. It was a great read that I truly enjoyed. I give Rocky Mountain Angel 4½ Flaming Hearts.

Title: Rocky Mountain Angel

Series: Six Pack Ranch bk 4

Author: Vivian Arend

Genre: Contemporary

Allison Parker needs a convincing excuse to come home to Rocky Mountain House. A hopelessly romantic reason that won't let her mother suspect the truth--that Allison has discovered Mom is keeping a terrible secret from the family.

Gabe Coleman is struggling with two of the roughest parts of ranching: dealing with his bull-headed mule of a father, and making enough to pay the bills. When his old friend Allison offers to help him develop his ideas for organic ranching--in trade for pretending to be her fiancé--it sounds like the perfect set-up.

Yet the deception leads them in an unexpected direction, where their shared daily hells are erased by nights of heavenly distraction. It's not supposed to be real, but once the gates are opened, there's no denying they've found in each other a little bit of Paradise.

To break free of the past and face the future, though, will take more than temporary pleasures. It'll take putting their hearts on the line.

Product Warnings
Tortured hero with a guardian-angel complex, grief-stricken heroine willing to sacrifice everything for family. Break out the tissues, this trip to the ranch is a heartbreaker on the way to the HEA.

I'm a huge fan of this series. There is just something about this family that I love, and I love to revisit the Coleman family.

From the first moment Gabe showed up on the page in the first book in Rocky Mountain Heat I was intrigued by him. There was just something about him that left you wondering who the real Gabe was. In each of the following books we got to see more and more of Gabe.

The term good ole boy comes to mind when I think Gabe. He's the kind of guy who will do anything for his family, and not expect anything in return. He does it because he understands the importance of family.

Alison is the perfect match for Gabe. She is someone who puts family first and drops everything to be there for her mom. When she enlists the help of Gabe to help her family without them knowing it she got the perfect partner.

I'm going to admit it, there is absolutely NOTHING in this book I didn't like. From Gabe and Allison's relationship to what happens in Gabe's family, yes it has to do with Travis, oh and something with the twins.

This book has everything I look for in a great romance, characters I like and want to be together, a conflict which makes them grow together as a couple, scenes where we get to see who the hero really is, and a family that makes them want to pull their hair out and yet they still love them.

I will say that there are a couple of scenes with Gabe where my heart broke for him because he feels so much.

Gabe had just about enough with his father when it came to the ranch. They were not going to make it for long. Prices were going up and profits were not coming in as planned. Gave wanted to go organic, but his father didn't want anything to do with it. Then comes Allison, the expert in the business. She had her own problems. She came up with a plan that would help her and also help Gabe. In the end they ended up helping each more than originally planned. There's a lot of shenanigans going on that ranch to include the skinny dipping.

I thought from the beginning there was going to be a whole bunch of foolishness chasing Allison. In a way it was with why she went running to Gabe. This one really showed why he's been in all the stories so far. The back story of him and Ben was a little rushed but when it all came out you understood just why Gabe was the way he was. Enjoyed the read but can't wait to see what he twins and Travis will get into.
