Great mix of romance, character development and action! Love a strong female character, too! Nothing I love more than picking up a book and not being able to put it down! I especially love a good book that is part of a series, then I don't feel that awful sadness once I've finished the book and have no more of the story to look forward to... Can't wait to read the rest of the series!!!

Wonderful new book from Lani Lynn Vale! It kept my attention the whole time while reading it. Loved the new world she created, the men, and the dragons. I've already preordered the second one and can't wait for more to follow. She knocked this one out of the ball park!

I absolutely love this book. It's well written with just enough action and sexiness. For this being your first paranormal series it's excellent. It's up there with JR Ward, Teresa Gabelman, Gena Showalter, Coreene Callahan, and Lara Adrian.

Ms Vale's first paranormal is a hit!! Since discovering her books last year she has quickly became one of my favorite authors. I would highly recommend anything she writes. I can't wait for the second installment.

Holy freaking crap!!! This book is absolutely nothing like I expected and everything I could ever want in a paranormal. This is Lani Lynn Vale's first foray into paranormal and let me tell you she knocked it out of the park. Kiefer and Blythe are amazing as a couple.

Blythe is just your average person and when she meets Kiefer for the first time well lets just say it was a tad bit unconventional. Sparks fly between the two even though she thinks she will never see him again. Kiefer is intrigued by Blythe but with all his responsibilities as Prince Of Dragons. Unforeseen circumstances happen pulling these two together in extraordinary ways.

I loved this book. When a favorite author forays into one of my favorite genres it can go two ways. Either really bad or really really good. This is the latter. She has created a world that I want to inhabit as much as possible. The mythology she has created is absolutely the best. I can not wait to see where she takes this series in the future.

"'Free. Hard. Forever. Until the last breath.'
And I felt that that described the love I felt for Blythe to a T."

My first Lani Lynn Vale book!
And it was about dragons!!!
Not going to lie, the name threw me off initially from this book and the dragon aspect did too a little, now I'm a PNR/fantasy lover, I love those kind of books! But I wasn't sure about dragons but I was intrigued too and I actually really, really liked it!!

We have Blythe (human) and Keifer (Dragon Rider prince) who's life's, once they meet, are changed and they learn they are fated mates.
Blythe has to adapt to being in Keifer's life and all that comes with it. And Keifer has another role (or two) he has to adapt to himself.
All of this while having to protect themselves from the people who want to destroy them and their dragons and everything they stand for.

“Yeah, I’m the prince. Which means you’re my princess. Princess Blythe of the Dragon Riders,”

This was so good! It was the charm and the 'magic' of the dragons that I adored mixed in with snark and humor from both humans and dragons and add in the love and steamy romance. It was really good!! I can't deny that I was completely hooked.

I really liked the characters, most of them actually, even Farrow who comes across as a brat. They're all interesting for sure. I'm intrigued by Ian and I enjoyed Blythe and Keifer together. But I'm sorry, or not, the dragons totally stole the show for me. Declan is hilarious. Freaking hilarious. I love him and his mischief, he's totally alpha too.
Angus was even funny.
And then the ice dragons, the terrible three, they're my favorites. I WANT ONEEEEEE!!!!

This was a solid four stars for me for a lot of the book... But then it wasn't. And it kills me because I loved this so much! I'm gonna explain why because it wasn't just one thing;

-Blythe and Keifer - Keifer was honestly a big jerk a time or two and really with no explanation or reason to why and it wasn't charming.
Then we have Blythe who gave me freaking whiplash. In the second half of the book she acted so irrationally and I was honestly so confused by her behavior and it definitely had nothing to do with her... situation. She acted foolish a time or two and it wasn't funny anymore, just annoying. She also didn't even know what she believed in... She pushes for something to happen, it happens and then she acts as if it was forced on her and she doesn't know how she feels about it. *Face-palm*

- Ian... What the hell happened there? Why were we supposed to be real wary of him only for it to not be explained and really, we were made to be wary of him for no reason at all??

- Blythe and Keifer were great together but by the end they just lacked the emotional depth they needed because apparently Blythe went from a virgin to a sex addict the minute she lost her virginity. Ok that was a little snarky lol but every time they needed to have a discussion or deal with something, they had sex instead and it was forgotten and it got irritating.

I had some niggles with this book and yes I gave it three (.5) stars but I don't want to give the impression it wasn't a good book because it was so good! The dragon aspect was probably my favorite thing about it. It was addicting, hilarious and left me wanting more! And props to the author for this being her first Paranormal/fantasy because it's really well done!

Can't wait for the next book in the series!

The futuristic world that Lani Lynn Vale creates in her first paranormal book in The Dragon Series is unique in the sense that dragons and humans co-exist, and with any place or situation where other worldly beasts, their riders, and ordinary people live, there are always those against anything extraordinary and willing to do just about anything to keep their world as they want it.

The storyline is action packed and the relationships between characters are comical as well as endearing, which allow readers to see just how powerful other worldly connections are and what lengths those bonds carry them when everything seems out of their control.

Blythe Barrett is quite the feisty heroine; even though she appears to be boring and an introvert, she definitely can hold her own and with how drastically her life changes by a chance meeting with Keifer Vassago, her ease with taking in everything around her and using that knowledge to help illustrates the type of woman she is.

As the Prince of Dragon Riders, Keifer is a commanding presence and it’s not only in the power he wields, but it’s also in the control he has and how he uses his skill set to benefit everyone he commands. Keifer proves himself time and time again in I Like Big Dragons & I Cannot Lie, and even though he does lose his way a bit, he heeds the advice of those he trusts, and he rectifies his missteps and commits to be who he’s always been even with his new position.

I love that Lani Lynn Vale modernizes the setting for her celestial characters; she does a great job of fusing old traditions with the dragons and new dynamics of the 21st Century that both help and hinder the protection and safety of the dragons and their riders. Vale also provides enough of a backstory about the dragons, the Meridian, and the immortal abilities that are shared between the riders and their dragons as well as the continual war between the dragon riders and the purists.

I can’t wait to see what Lani Lynn Vale has in store for the other dragon riders and I’m sure readers will still be able to check in with Keifer and Blythe, which pleases me greatly because there’s still a lot to find out about their life together!

There be dragons! Dragons in the modern world, living amongst cell phones and Pokemon Go. Really?? Yes, and it worked beautifully as, with most anything unusual in the twenty-first century, they are treated with awe, fear and a requisite amount of hostility. Enter their champions - handsome, sexy Dragon Riders with longevity and beards in their arsenal - and I am all set to believe…

I love this new world where dragons are heroes, dragon riders swear like truckers and panties catch fire on a regular basis. And not just figuratively! Keifer is the prince of dragons and Blythe is queen of what usually passes for, well, ordinary. She is a struggling student until she is suddenly thrust into a world where normal was anything but. She adapted pretty well really but Keifer was there to hold her hand. And he was all things swoony as he and his family, his clan, fight to keep humans and dragons alike safe in this unsafe world.

There is intrigue, suspense and betrayal in a story filled with unforgettable characters, laughter and tug at your heart emotion. Whether it is bros or besties, children or dragons, there is much to love about this first in what I hope is a long list of titles… This world needs more dragons! And beards!

And with any book by this author made me laugh out loud, again and again…
“In my dreams we were made for each other. Reality could eat s*** and die.”
“Some people will only like you if you fit in their box. Don’t be afraid to shove that box up their a**.”
“I believe in love and peace, but I say f*** a lot.”

I love everything Lani Lynn Vale (LLV) has written and this book was no different. I of course was a little skeptical since this book is not her normal genre, although it does have a MC l. It's her first venture into paranormal and she did a freaking fantastic job. I loved it and it was just as good as her other series. WTG Lani your first book in this series is a hit. I was definitely pleasantly surprised and I look forward to the rest of the books in this series. This book is Keifer and Blythe's story. He is the oldest and the Prince of Dragons and she is a nursing student, they meet accidentally while Keifer is looking for his younger brother. As always with LLV we get an amazing story l. I truly believe she could write anything and it would be a fantastic book.

Thank you LLV for writing another great book for me to get lost in. Once I started I had to finish so I could know what happened and it was definitely worth my time. I look forward to more about the Vassago family and what they get into while finding a mate.
I highly recommend I Like Big Dragons and I cannot lie, it's an amazing book. Happy reading.
