Im always looking for someone new to read. I found this series by accident. I enjoy the supernatural, so this is right up my alley. The author follows most of the conventional ideas about vampires and weres, and introduces some Native American supernatural as well. Easy to follow, enjoyable to read. I bought all four books in the series.

This book is entertaining with not a dull moment..I have a hard time putting it down..Would recommend it to anyone who is into modern demon fighting, vampires, weres, and a host of other paranormal...

First book was 340 pages, second was about the same. The next books are around 200 pages and at the same price. I don't like it when authors shorten books to get more profit. I'm not saying the author doesn't deserve the money, but release a longer book at a higher price will get me to buy the book. Doing the opposite is annoying with my personality.
Other than that, not much I didn't like. It's not the Dresden files but it's worth a read. Will be dropping it because of my issue with price though.

I read this book after God Touched, simply because it was an accidental purchase by a curious 2 year old ( thank you One Click). I had such high hopes for this second installment, figuring the first was the author's initial foray into writing. Alas, it read similar to God Touched. The writing feels as if it was done in an afternoon by a very lonely teenage boy. Superpowers that develop more every day with no time for explanation or adjustment period. The overuse of brand names for everything from firearms to the shirt on the hero's back felt like page filler. I honestly felt that the introduction of the Reyes character needed more development. I would've like to see a more epic showdown. Instead, the reader gets a potentially great bad guy turned into wall paste.
The author states in his bio that he began writing after having Twilight explained to him by his daughter. He wanted to create a better story. Unfortunately, what we got was Edward and Bella fight crime on the mean streets of New York.

Another great read. Finished this book in two days due to work and sleep. More in depth character development, story and leaves book wanting you to read next book in line. Highly recommend this series for those who enjoy non stop action.

*Probably spoilers ahead*
I greatly enjoyed the first book so naturally, I picked up the second.
While I wasn't extremely disappointed it felt that the characters rise to power was much to quick and as such, a great deal of character development was lost. I would have loved to read a much more extended plot line where Chris comes into his powers at a slightly slower rate and is forced to change and adapt accordingly.
It seemed Chris got a new power every other chapter which, while entertaining reading about him kicking ass, made him feel TOO powerful. Or at least, too powerful too quickly. I think a lot of possible story telling and development was lost when he pretty much became an untouchable god. (Sure you could fight him, but if you tried to threaten him he'll just send an ancient God to your place to f*** you up.) I suppose the relationship advances were interesting enough to read, but again, I would have liked to read about the characters adapting to his power in a slightly slower way. It felt to me this should have been the 4th or maybe 5th book in the series. But hey that's just me, I found it pretty enjoyable and well worth the money paid for it, and I'll most probably pick up the third book as well just so I can see how far Chris goes. There was also a great deal of telling and not a great deal of showing and it kind of detracted from the experience.
Anyway, enough of what I want, I just ranted that out in a few short minutes so it probably doesn't make sense, but long story short: If you want a book with a pretty interesting character with way too much power, non-stop action, a touch of romance and humor, then get it.

Due to circumstances, at this time I cannot buy book three (medicine and that) of this series and it hurts me to t h e core, I so want to read it right now! (Ahem) With the exception of a good werewolf book, I do not care for the supernatural, that being said, The demon accords grabs you from the first page, you will read it in one setting. It's like getting a best-selling novel in each one of these categories: mystery, detective,,supernatural, horror, love story, and thriller all-in-one and just the perfect amount of each one. This book was as much of a treat as new shoes with matching handbag!!!!!!

Well, this book is actually fairly engaging, however it does have a major problem:
The protagonist is MASSIVELY overpowered. There doesn't appear to be any real challenges for him; whenever he gets into a situation where it looks like he might be in trouble, he finds he has a new talent or ally that allows him to save the day rather effortlessly. I understand how, in a long series, this might happen a time or two; this happens (at least) three times in this one book.
Now, Conroe might be planning on giving Chris some real challenges (or exploit the one weakness he has mentioned) in the third book; I'll probably read it eventually, however I'm in no hurry.
