Soul Detox: Clean Living in a Contaminated World

Pastor Groeschel is a talented writer. He uses anecdotes that blend humor and human drama to illustrate the many experiences that contaminate our souls. I have been challenged to restore my relationship with Christ with my eyes open to the obstacles I have allowed to come between us.

I initially picked up Soul Detox on audio for something to listen to while I drove. After the first illustration of Craig's awareness to the stench he carried with him from growing up in a smoker's home, I was hooked. I found myself writing notes as I was driving. I had to pick up a hard copy for safety reasons! Groeschell hits on topics that cause even those of us who have been following Christ for a long time to pause, repent and seek to live a more sanctified life. I was challenged as I considered areas such as pessimism and cynicism that infiltrate our culture, lives and day-to-day existence. I have now sought to take and walk through the book with several others as a result of the challenges from the book. The initial illustration of growing up in a smokers home and then returning to college where Groeschell's roommate tossed his things out because they reeked was a reminder that when we are immersed in a culture saturated with sin, we cannot help but have some of that "odor" attach to us without our even recognizing it. Very good work, Craig.

Great study,it was very well put together. The writer had very good and thought provoking points for all christians to ponder. Great content, very glad I purchased would redo in a second, will also reread at later date.

The guide provides 1) A great overview of the corresponding chapter in the book, 2) A perfect lead in for the Video 3) Thought provoking questions for small group discussions and 4) Personal Devotion during the week to help with material digestion and life change.

I can see from reading this book why Craig Groeschel is one of the top pastors in the U.S! He uses real life practical examples of how individuals tend to think their way out of doing what is right just because it is "easier" to do so but also, Groeschel reminds us how much easier it can be to live cleanly when we remember the importance of our relationship with God. Truly a must read!

This book does not speak in generalities, but gives specific, true, modern-day examples of things that poison our lives daily. It does not stop there. The author goes on to show both how to & why we should detoxify our lives from poisonous influences. Very easy to read & easy to apply to your life....if you truly desire a closer, more pure walk with God through Jesus Christ.

I have now bought this book for my closest friends and family, it has changed my Christian perspective!!!! It motivated me to be a better person and a more faithful follower, it was exactly what I needed!!

The book was very easy to read and understand. The examples in the book hit home. Things I was doing saying or thinking; I didn't think it was so bad, until I realize that they are toxins and pollutants in my life. I have a great work to do on myself.
