Take romance, banter, humor, and dogs it gives you The Foxe & the Hound which was perfection. What I loved so much about this book was the humor, so many times I found myself laughing out loud and my husband giving me the weirdest looks trying to figure out if I had lost my mind.

Also, can we talk about how fun all the characters in this book were? Adam, Madeline, Daisy, and Adam's mom and sister-in-law just were perfect. They each brought another layer to the story. The icing on the cake to all of this is Mouse, you can't forget about him!

R.S. Grey has written another book where she has proven that you can't go wrong with reading any of her work!

Madeleine just might be my favorite R.S. Grey character to date. I related to her in so many my-life-is-a-hot-mess, give-me-love-and-a-hot-guy levels.

It was a light, quirky read, and I couldn't contain my smiles or giggles--yes, you read that right--at the storyline. No one writes a good joke or one-liner quite like Grey. And no one writes a good romantic comedy quite like her either.

This is a story that anyone can relate to, whether you're in the middle of a quarter-life or mid-life crisis over what to do with your life or if you're trying to forget the past and move on, this book will have an impact, I can promise you that.

I needed this story. A lot of books lately have had me wallowed up in my feels but this one was easy to read with just the right amount of drama/emotion to make my stomach laugh and heart flip.

Madeleine and Adam, and of course Mouse, had me cheering on the sidelines with each new scene and revelation I read.

I just have one question: How does R.S. Grey do it?!

Note: received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

If you are in need of a heartwarming, sweet romance this is it!!! It was really hard to not love these characters. Madeleine is fun and quirky! And Adam is just so adorable even if he was a jerk at times.

I thought the storyline was a lot of fun. I especially loved how these two characters meet! It set the tone for the whole book which had me laughing out loud several times! I really loved the play on the book title and how it fit in with the story. I thought that was very clever. This is a low angst, low drama type of story. Which is not a bad thing when you need a palate cleansing book. If you are looking for a sweet romance this is the perfect book!

Narrator Review (Luci):

Luci dominated Madeleine's personality. Why haven't I ever listened to her before? Because I live under a rock, that's why. This book is light, humorous and kind of goofy, and Luci's tone encapsulates this so well.

The quality of her voice is excellent. Although bright, it isn't annoyingly so. AND! Her mannerisms are consistent throughout the entire performance which is rare in female narrations these days.

My favorite part of The Foxe & the Hound is when Luci—I mean, Madeleine—is in an awkward situation. Err murr gurrd. Luci, I want you with me in every awkward situation I have. This is executed so perfectly. I also really like Luci's male interpretations, particularly because her portrayal matches that of Joe's. Luci's a chameleon.

Narrator Review (Joe):

Joe is one of my favorite narrators of all time. This isn't a secret. Yoga with Joe is perfection (if you haven't stretched with this man crooning in your ear, then you haven't lived.) Unfortunately, I couldn't listen to this audiobook during my hot yoga class last week because my instructor caught me with my bluetooth earplugs in...talk about awkward. I mean, I was in freaking rabbit pose and the room was terribly hot and sweaty—although, I'm never sure if that's because of the yoga poses or because of you know who. So, I got busted. I also got lectured at for disrupting my second chakra.

?

Joe is my chakra. So I say hot yoga is a crock. I won't be going to Thursday 5am practice for a little while.

The Foxe & the Hound showcases Joe's versatility. I mean, we've all heard him be the sweet guy, or the lovable, wounded man. Here, Joe is a vile pig. He's king of the farm animals as far as I'm concerned, and I'm just fine with that. Joe takes characterization to a new level. He can narrate practically any role, which is why he's my default voice boyfriend. Feeling like a biker? Joe Arden. Ooo, maybe a sweet vineyard owner? Joe. Arden.

This man can do it all. He also has the perfect timbre for listening at max volume. You know when you have a narrator that you have to listen on low because their voice is so pointed? It's never like that with Joe. He filters his voice through a field of wildflowers. Wildflowers I want to prance around in.

Book Review:

I hate Adam Foxe. I loathe him. I want an obnoxious dog to eat all of his nice clothes. He. Is. An. ***! Ooo, but it's so provocative. He's playing this game, and I'm all in.

A character doesn't have to be likable in order to be relatable. Honestly, I can relate to Adam's negative juju transmitting into the Universe. I had a crappy weekend, and Adam has a crappy life. We're a match made in heaven. Want to talk about chakras? Adam has none.

Madeleine, our sweet heroine, on the other hand is the complete opposite of Adam. She is not the luckiest person ever. R.S. Grey did a really nice job not overdoing it here. It's easy to make bad luck look like idiocy, but this is rendered so perfectly. Madeleine has a heart of gold. It's no wonder she forgives Adam for all his rudeness...SEXY, HOT RUDENESS!

We are set in a small town in Texas where everyone knows everyone's business. Madeleine falls in love with a cute little puppy and names him Mouse. Except Mouse grows into a Galamoth puppy.

Madeleine hasn't had the best string of luck, she's kind of a space cadet and a hot mess. This puppy is just hilarious and brings lightness to Madeleine's immediate reality...she is trying to build her way up in the real estate world, except if she doesn't make a sale quickly, she's going to be cut loose.

“You’ve worked here for a year this month, Madeleine, and you’ve only closed on one listing.”

She’s merciful in leaving out the fact that the one listing I managed to close on was for my brother and Daisy’s house. That was six months ago…

It only gets worse when she stumbles upon Dr. Adam Foxe, an arrogant pig (as we've discussed earlier), and her massive puppy molests him.

Then, she meets Mr. Foxe again as Mouse's vet.

This doesn't seem like the worst thing to happen, oh, but it is. Adam and Madeleine don't necessarily get along the first half of the book. Gaawd, this is so good. Madeleine and her crazy dog pop up and catch Adam off-guard at the most random times. Fate? Perhaps. I think the pup is her fairy godmother guiding her to her prince. Snort. Prince Revolting.

"I resist the urge to sear him with my gaze and I think he can tell, because he defuses the situation with a small smile."

Their relationship starts out rocky, this blooms into a friendship and inevitably love. Le sigh. But, of course, R.S. Grey doesn't keep the love blooming for long! Gah, and yes, these two find a way to screw things up. But we knew this was coming, right? Adam the playa play and Madeleine his sweet muse.

That's just begging for disaster. Does Madeleine make a sale and keep her job? Why-y-y is Adam in Texas when he's originally from Chicago?

The Foxe & the Hound is light-hearted, swoony and a perfect summer read. Or, in this case, listen. It's alluring, captivating and will make you smile. The content surprised me in a sense that Madeleine's story is equally as enthralling alone as it is with Adam and vice versa. I really loved this book. I needed a read like this.

I only read maybe the first chapter, and I couldn't stand it. Maybe I didn't give it much chance, but everything in the beginning annoyed me. Who bribes their dog by telling them about their organic salmon treat? And what kind of disreputable dog pound lies to their client, especially if it's such a small town? And why is a vet wearing a suit on his way to work?

Cliffhanger? NO

Did I like it? Yes. But I could not stand Adam.

Story: I thought the story was really cute and sweet. Madeleine was a sweet quirky character stuck in a small town but waiting to have a solid relationship and not succeeding at her job as a real estate agent. Adam moved to town from Chicago and is a veterinarian. He's still got hangups from his past relationship and engagement. Once they finally got together, I loved them together. I also enjoyed the fact that Madeleine's hard work at work paid off in the end. This probably would have been 4 stars if Adam hadn't been such a jerk.

Characters: I really enjoyed Madeleine throughout the whole book. Although, I didn't understand why she wasn't good at her job. It seemed like she was motivated and she did research for all the homes she showed. She was personable. I'm not sure what the problem was. Regardless her and her dog Mouse were fun and funny to read about.

Adam mostly annoyed me throughout the whole book. At first he's just so rude. I understand initially but after his first meeting with Madeleine, I felt he could have gotten over what happened and been nicer. Yet every occasion it seems he treated her like crap. Even after she helps him. He kept her hanging while flirting and saying he does and he doesn't want her. Even when it finally seems like he's ready to be with her, his ex comes back into the picture to ruin things. Adam hasn't learned anything and doesn't handle the situation well at all. He didn't need to go out to dinner with his ex when it's a small town and everyone's going to talk. They could have gone for coffee. UGGHHHHH and then at the very end he acts like Madeleine is being ridiculous for her feelings. That's what of the worst things to me when someone treats a person like their feelings aren't valid.

Narration: Absolutely loved the narration. Joe Arden is always amazing and although I hadn't listened to Luci Christian before, she did a pretty great job.

I'd been looking for a good veterinan romance and I found it! R.S. Grey was a new-to-me author and I found this book on Kindle Unlimited

4.5 Stars in my opinion.

It has a pretty high rating for romance and I got to read it for free with my subscription, so I didn't see how it could go wrong! And it didn't!

The book started off a bit rocky for me. I was thinking that I might be in the minority. The first couple chapters had some really wordy paragraphs and it took me a tiny bit to get into the groove of the authors writing. But once I did, I couldn't put it down! I finished it in two days!

The story is told in dual perspective, 1st person POV, by the hero and heroine on alternating chapters.

The hero, Adam, is a big city vet moved to small town Texas after a failed 5 year engagement. The heroine, Madeline, is a 28-year-old failing real estate agent, who is hopeful when it comes to love and dating but not who I would call desperate.

Adam and Madeline have a great meet cute that involves her giant puppy! It's kinda a hate to love romance but the hate part lasts for a very short amount of time! I liked that. It bothers me when characters waste a ton of time talking crap about each other while also lusting after them.

It's got great secondary characters. Adam's family, Madeline's brother and sister-in-law aka also Madeline's best friend. Even the evil women working at the same real estate agency were fun characters. I enjoyed hating on them as much as Madeline did!

This book has a fair share of language, mostly the sh- word and several f-bombs. There's not violence. There are two love scenes, pretty detailed but not overly so. Lots of making out and petting.

This is a light hearted, funny romance! If you enjoy small town, puppy love then you'll enjoy this one! And I'll definitely be reading more romances by R.S. Grey!

At 27, Madeline’s life is too depressing to think about. Trying her best to become a good real estate agent is constantly slipping through her fingers. In the last six months the only house she’s sold is to her brother and his wife. And let’s not talk about her love life, it just doesn’t exist. The only constant in her life is her dog Mouse. Back when she adopted him as a tiny puppy, she was told he was a mixed breed that would not be very large. Well she just found out he’s a Bernese Mountain Dog! When Madeline decides to take him to a training class at the YMCA, it’s run by the same vet she just took Mouse for his shots. The hot Dr Adam Foxe. Maybe there is still hope for her if she can make a good impression on the doctor.
Adam Foxe escaped Chicago when his caught his fiancé with his best friend in a compromising position. Now he’s living in the small town of Hamilton, Texas so he can be close to his family. Even after the meeting the sexy and quirky Madeline, Adam has made a promise not to get involved with any woman for a while.
However, no matter where he goes he keeps running into her. He’s also aware that he keeps giving her mixed signals.
Madeline would really like to date the good doctor, but there is something in his demeanor that tells her something bad happened to him that he doesn’t trust himself to go further.
I laughed so much reading this book! Madeline is truly a great character and Adam doesn’t know what hits him when he meets her.

What an endearing RomCom that really sucked me in. I've read books that claim to be a Romantic Comedy but lacked really any comedy, as in I didn't chuckle once. But I could never say that about The Foxe & the Hound as it had me giggling and chuckling here and there. Madeleine Thatcher is just so likable despite the fact at 27 she's a walking train wreck of misfortune and yet it doesn't seem to taint her good spirit and can do attitude. Of course Dr. Adam Foxe is the antithesis to Madeleine.

Where Madeleine is struggling in her career - Dr. Foxe is thriving in his; where Madeleine can't cook to save her life - Dr. Foxe can whip up a mean lasagna; where Madeleine is patient and kind during unfortunate circumstances - Dr. Foxe is quick tempered and has a biting tongue when put out in the slightest. They are the Ying and Yang of couples. But there is lot to be said about chemistry and these two have it with a touch of electricity.

I found I was doing most of my giggling during the times Madeleine is having her inner monologues as she's an over thinker with a wild imagination and the things that pop in her head are chuckle worthy. Here is an example of one of those chuckle worthy inner monologues ""Sex. He wants lots and lots of blowjobs. Oh god, I’m starring in a low-rent porno. Or worse…" She's has a wild imagination. Also, I found Madeleine very relatable, to an extent that is of course. I thoroughly enjoyed this book as it had me smile, chuckle, sigh, and a couple of times I felt my heart sink to the pit of my stomach. It was a roller coaster ride of emotions. Was this romance epic? The answer is No. Did it make me not to want to put the book down? Yes, yes it did. Would I want to read this story again? Oh yes, yes I would read this story again. I think I have found a new author to follow.

It wasn't until I came to the end of the book and read what else the author has written that I was surprised to find that this book is not actually a stand alone but an offshoot from a story about Madeleine's brother Lucas and her best friend Daisy and how their romance came to be. The book is called "Anything You Can Do" and now I must read it because I'm sure it's to be another good RomCom for me to chuckle, sigh, and have another fun roller coaster ride of emotions. Looking forward to read more of author R.S. Grey's work.

Funny. Charming. Witty. Sweet. Swoony. Sexy. Romantic.

All of these words came to mind when I was thinking about R.S. Grey’s The Foxe and The Hound. It is a book that made me laugh more times than I can count. Once I picked up this book, there was no putting it down – because I didn’t want to. All of these words came to mind when I was thinking about R.S. Grey’s The Foxe and The Hound. It is a book that made me laugh more times than I can count. Once I picked up this book, there was no putting it down – because I didn’t want to. This book was the perfect escape - it is so funny and so freaking clever. It was an absolute pleasure to get lost in this story with these characters for an afternoon.

The Foxe and The Hound Brings us back to Hamilton, Texas where we met our heroine’s brother and her best friend as they squared off in Anything You Can Do. Now we get to spend time inside the head of Madeleine Thatcher as she navigates her not-so perfect life. As well as Adam Foxe, Hamilton’s newest resident and vet. Their meet-cute and what comes make this book the absolute delight that it is.

Madeleine is a clever woman who even at her snarkiest, was impossible not to love. While her life is not perfect, we get a view into the life of woman who has an amazing heart that is big enough to love a dog that will constantly challenge that love. Do you know what? I adored her. A lifelong overachiever, she was looking to find her stride and it was just taking a little bit longer. But even in those moments when her life was less-than, she persisted – at every turn.

Adam Foxe arrived in town with zero intention of becoming attached to anyone, but fate and big, unruly dogs have a funny way of changing plans. Dr. Foxe never stood a chance. Not. A. One. Which only makes you love him that much more.

This book moves at great pace moved along by a great plot and the pure chemistry between not only Madeleine and Adam, but also fed by the supporting cast. Hamilton is a small town with residents who do a great job in their roles as bonus comic relief, but also filling in the blanks as to how they view Madeleine.

But this book. The Foxe and The Hound will leave you happy and satisfied, much like that first sip of coffee, a much-needed glass of wine, a good scotch, cold beer or fabulous dessert, but also wanting more. But that is par for the course when it comes to an R.S. Grey book. As always, well-done.

Madeleine Thatcher is a 27 yr. old gorgeous, single woman living in rural Texas, in a small town called Hamilton. She works as a real estate agent at Hamilton Realty, & lately feels as if her whole life is one big hot mess. She just can't seem to get it together. She's struggling to pay her rent, can't seem to sell a house to save her life, & although she attends singles events & uses online dating apps, she hasn't had any luck in the love department. Everyone around her seems to be happily coupled, even her older brother Lucas who is married to her best friend Daisy. All Madeleine really has lately is her dog Mouse that she recently adopted.

Adam Foxe is a sexy veterinarian from Chicago that recently moved to Hamilton to be closer to his family. He's on his third week at his new job as the town Vet when he crosses paths with the beautiful Madeleine Thatcher. It's kind of a train wreck, & Madeleine makes a horrible first impression. As they continue to run into one another everywhere they turn, they begin to grow on each other. There's an undeniable attraction between them neither can ignore. After recently getting out of a long term relationship Adam isn't really ready to date yet, but he's desperate to get his mom off his back so he offers Madeleine a proposition she can't refuse. Pretend to be his fake girlfriend for a family function & he'll hire her to find him a home. As they are spending all this time together they share an unexpected kiss that rocks both their worlds.

Even though Adam doesn't think he's ready to get into another relationship so soon, he can't deny how badly he wants Madeleine. She's all he can think about. He even enjoys her quirky personality. Will she be the one he breaks all his rules for, & will Madeleine finally find her happily ever after?

I love R.S. Grey's writing. Every time I start one of her books I know I'm in for a treat and it's going to be fantastic! This was no different. It was a sexy romantic comedy that I couldn't put down. Just loved it!

Madeleine Thatcher is not put together. Her life is rough, but not the worst. I wouldn’t say she is in a slump, but things aren’t absolutely great either. She is not getting the clients she needs for her real estate job. Her car is barely hanging on and usually not starting. Her apartment is crap, and she is always late on rent. But she has a really REALLY cute dog – Mouse! Which seems to bring fate into her meeting with Adam Foxe… although it wasn’t great at first. Far from it.

Adam Foxe is the type of guy you dream about. He is funny, honest and down right sexy. All the single women in Hamilton, Texas can’t help but stare. I would too. Plus he’s a vet, and who doesn’t love a good warm hearted man that loves animals. Well Madeleine sure didn’t at first.

These two fight back and forth and apologize more than normal people. Which is what makes this book so unique and fun. I loved their banter, I loved the way it took to get them to the point of no return (in a good way).

One of the things I loved about this book was how real life and non fairy tale it was. The situations Madeleine and Adam are put into, or the way they are embarrassed to speak up or admit something – it’s real. And before you call this a spoiler, I have to say THIS IS AN ADULT ROMANCE NOVEL, they are going to obviously sleep together . So when it finally does happen, its 100% real – yeah I know I’ve been saying real a lot because its the only word I can use to describe it. When they finally stop fighting it and do it, its amazing. It’s 100% perfect for them. It wasn’t candles, low sexy music it was essential and dare I say it again – REAL. Because honestly if you’re that turned on (and who wouldn’t be about Adam) you don’t plan it out, and don’t have time to make it romantic.
Okay, okay I am done saying real now… I think ?

The uncertainty these two share is frustrating at moments, but in a warming way (yes that is possible). When they finally open their damn eyes and realize what the hell is in front of them its electric.

I was currently reading another book when this title dropped in my kindle. I instantly stopped reading that one, pushed away 3 other ARC’s with deadlines and I consumed and only breathed this book. Why? Because I knew it would be totally worth it, and I was right. Another light, fun-hearted, funny and sexy read from R.S. Grey. There was never one single doubt in my mind that she would let me down.

I was a huge fan of the dog scenes with Mouse. His roll in the book in my eyes was huge. The meeting and the second meeting. The reason Adam keeps seeing her weekly or daily. The common ground when meeting new people in each other groups. Mouse was probably my favorite character. Well mostly because I love big cute fluffy dogs.

Once again R.S. Grey publishes a beyond 5 star reads. This book is another reason why most of her books end up in my top favorites!

Sigh, yes. YES. This book was even better than what I could have hoped for! It was brilliant, funny, fast-paced, romantic and wistful. I absolutely adored the characters, I loved the drama-free plot, and I am obsessed with Mouse the giant slobbery puppy. Maybe this book just came into my life at exactly the right time, but I am convinced that it’s just that irresistibly charming.

Adam Foxe is a dreamboat. He’s undeniably handsome, smart, complicated and moody aka the perfect combination for an ideal book boyfriend. I fell hard, and I fell fast. I mean, the whole loving and caring for animals thing made me all weak kneed but then the blazing green eyes and confusing mood swings? YES. Give me a slightly damaged hero with a heart of gold and I’m basically putty in an authors hands. While I love Adam wholeheartedly and want to have a litter of his adorable green-eyed babies, the real star of this book was clearly Madeleine.

Here’s the thing about Madeleine, she’s basically me. She’s beyond clumsy, she can barely function normally or appropriately let alone pass for a ‘respectable’ adult, she is loyal to a fault, she cares about everyone, she loves lost causes and her charm lies in her utter lack of social cues. Sure, Adam had me swooning but Maddy had me laughing out loud and rooting for her from page one. She’s one of the most quirky and awesome leading ladies that I have read in a very long time. I love her. Hard.

While this story was lighthearted and sweet, it was still full of steam and sexy good times. I was pulled in, entertained and utterly amused throughout the entire story. I am SO happy that I found a new set of characters to love on that isn’t dark or twisted. I can actually recommend this book to my friends with softer stomachs in good conscience! YAY! So really, that just means that everyone I know is going to hear me telling them to read The Foxe and the Hound for the foreseeable future. Sorry ladies, if you don’t want to be nagged and pushed incessantly… grab your own copy today!

“The unspoken words fill the gap between our bodies.”

“He kisses me like he intends to leave a mark. He bites, drags, and sucks the right of me. It’s passionate and heated–kissing that feels more like f***ing.”

“Reality slips away. I’m nothing but a bundle of nerves and firing synapses.”

What do you get when you have a hot mess, a hot veterinarian and one wild dog? You get one fun and entertaining read! From the moment I met Adam and Madeline, I just knew their story was going to be great. Madeline was a hot mess and just going through the motions of her crazy life. She wants what any normal single woman wants: A great job and a man of her own. For now, she’ll just have to settle for her dog. Meeting Adam wasn’t something that she ever planned on. He’s rude, standoffish and sexy as hell. To make matters worse, he is the new vet in town. Madeline tries her best to stay out of Adam’s way, but fate keeps throwing them together. Soon the chemistry and attraction will be too much to fight. Adam wasn’t at all planning on Madeline, but can’t stay away…..

The Foxe and The Hound was such a fun read. The story-line was so entertaining and I loved the enemies to lovers aspect of the story. Sparks just flew whenever Adam and Madeline got near each other. The tension so delicious, you just knew they wouldn’t be able to fight it for long. Adam and Madeline shared not only great banter, but I loved their will they/won’t they moments. Those moments tugged at my heart and kept me begging for more. I loved the two of them together and couldn’t help but root for them to find their happily ever after.

I thought The Foxe and The Hound was incredibly well written and could not stop myself from devouring this book in just one sitting. I loved everything about it. From the writing to the setting. To the main and secondary characters. I just loved it all. This story had all the right elements and gave me all the feels.

What else can I tell you about The Foxe and The Hound? I really enjoyed it!! This story made made laugh, tugged at my heart, made me swoon and fall in love. It played with my emotions in the best possible way and I enjoyed every second of it. I definitely would recommend checking this book out.

Madeleine Thatcher is a charming and funny… mess. With her fledgling career as a real estate agent and her newly adopted giant dog, she is working at finding her way in life.

Dr. Adam Foxe has recently relocated to Hamilton, Texas where he is not only the small towns newest veterinarian, but also an interesting addition to their single male population.

When Madeleine and Adam have an awkward first meeting, and each subsequent meeting doesn’t get much better… they can’t quite decide their feelings about one another. But, what they can’t deny is their attraction, whether or not it’s a convenient time, or a business conflict of interest… their quiet lives in small town Texas may never be the same again…

I freaking loved this book. Ok, disclaimer here… I’ve never read a R.S. Grey book I didn’t love… and this one did not disappoint.

Madeleine Thatcher is adorable, hilarious, and just plain awkward. (Thatcher… that’s right, she is the little sister of Lucas and BFF to Daisy whose book is ‘Anything You Can Do’!!!) She is trying hard to be a nice well rounded adult… she wants to pay her bills, and have a boyfriend, and have a dog who doesn’t maul innocent people… unfortunately she isn’t very successful at any of it!

Dr. Adam Foxe has recently moved from Chicago, wanting to be closer to his family… and to leave his previous life that had fallen apart. He’s not ready for a relationship, and although attracted to Madeleine he does everything he can to fight the pull he has to her.

Madeleine and Adam are super cute. The situations the find themselves in are absolutely hilarious. I loved all of the supporting characters, Adam’s Mom is just the best. AND we get a continuation of Lucas and Daisy’s story! This book was so well written, I simply couldn’t put it down.

I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.

If you loved Anything You Can Do (which I did), you will love The Foxe And The Hound!
R.S. Grey took this book up a notch and Madeline and Adam are my new favorite couple. The storyline is spot on and keeps your attention. This book needs to be on your TBR list.

You are once again back in the town of Hamilton where there is never a dull moment.

Madeline has watched her best friend and brother find love together and while she is over the moon for both of them she keeps wondering when she will find mister right. Which leads her to being on any dating app there is and also making sure she goes to the Hamilton Single Events the town holds. Right now there is only one man for her and he has four legs, bad breath, and demands all of her attention...Mouse. When she takes Mouse in for his vet appointment she meets the new man in town, who she already met previously when Mouse decided he wanted to greet the Vet and knock him down.

Adam has already started off the day on the wrong foot when he is knocked down by a dog on his way to work. The only redeeming quality from the ordeal is the owner, whom he happens to find very attractive, but since he has just moved to town he isn't ready to jump into any kind of relationship.

Adam and Madeleine seem to keep crossing paths until they finally decide to act on their attraction for one another. And just when it seems like they might be finally starting to grow their relationship, Adam's past comes to town and changes everything.

Welcome back to the town of Hamilton, Texas where everyone knows your name and you are part of one big family.

Love this series and can't wait to see what comes next from R.S. Grey!

With Grey’s signature humor and quirky characters, The Foxe & the Hound was a wonderfully enchanting story. Filled with the best kind of sexual tension between two antagonistic characters, the story takes readers on a winding journey between the new local veterinarian and the oft looked-over real estate agent he butts heads with at every turn.

Whenever I open a novel by this author I know that I’m going to find a heroine that’s down to earth and completely relateable. Madeleine’s clumsiness and quirks were endearing and they further humanized her in a simple way. She was real and a bit downtrodden, but her fire was startling and fierce; that juxtaposition in her was like a magnet for Dr. Adam Foxe. His resistance to her odd charm and his weakness for that very same thing created a brilliant push-pull that kept my stomach in a near constant state of butterflies. The good kind, the anticipation always growing and hoping and yearning.

Grey writes effortless humor. The kind that sneaks up on you and forces a laugh to fall past your lips; not a snort or a “hmph” but an actual laugh. She doesn’t set out for laughs but lets it happen organically and I find that incredibly desirable in a Rom-Com or any book in general. Her mix of heat and passion with that humor always manages to create an overall well-rounded love story. With ease and a finesse only Grey can do, she brings her best in The Foxe & the Hound. The romance was superb and the rest was a proverbial cherry on top of the already-great sundae.

Side note: If you’re the kind of person who doesn’t like spoilers on other stories, I do recommend you read Anything You Can Do prior only because that couple is featured in this story.

I loved this story! Madeline and Adam are so adorable and funny!

I’m a huge fan of this author and loved all her previous books so I was excited when I saw she was releasing this. Madeline is the sister of Lucas who you’ll know from Anything you can do so it was great to see him pop up in this story.
You don’t have to read Anything you can do before reading this book but there is a few spoilers if you don’t.

Madeline Thatcher lives alone with her puppy Mouse. She works as a real estate agent and has a busy social life, mostly provided by dating apps and singles nights but she hasn’t met anyone special.

Adam Foxe recently moved to the town of Hamilton, Texas after a rough break up and looking for love is the last thing on his mind.

The first time Madeline and Adam meet is a disaster, the second time isn’t much better and in a town as small as Hamilton, it’s hard to avoid people forever, especially when you own a dog and he’s the town vet.

When Adam needs a date for a family function, Madeline is the first name he thinks of so he offers her a deal she can’t refuse, if she’ll do him a favour, he’ll hire her as his real estate agent.

As time goes by, Madeline begins to see Adam as more than just the hot town vet and he realises that what he feels for her is more than just friendship. With the undeniable attraction between them just waiting to erupt, how long will it be before they’re forced to admit their feelings?

I loved this story because it had all my favourite elements, humour, romance, fun and characters that are adorable and impossible not to like so I highly recommend this story.

This is definitely another winner from R. S. Grey. I'm all for angst and heartache in its place but there are times I want to read a well written, sweet, swoony romance. Well this ticks all those boxes.

This story features Madeleine. We've met her before in Anything You Can Do. She's Daisy's best friend and Lucas's sister. I should stay that this story does completely stand alone and you don't need to read anything before. I do recommend Anything You Can Do though as it's a great book.

Madeleine is a bit of a mess, lol. She's a real estate agent but the only sale she's made recently has been to family. Her boss is pressuring her for sales. Plus she's recently adopted a puppy that she was informed wouldn't grow very big. Until the rather unaptly named 'Mouse' grew into the size of a small horse! Madeleine and Mouse don't make a very good first impression on Adam, the new vet in town. Thankfully things do improve and Adam makes her an offer she can't refuse. She's got to play his girlfriend for a family barbecue. No problem right? Lol.

I loved every minute of this. I loved the banter between the characters. Madeleine and Adam were great together and there was definitely a big spark between them.

There were funny moments, swoony romance, a little spice and lots of great dialogue. This author is very good at this type of book and I've yet to find a book of hers that I haven't enjoyed. They're not regurgited plots either. Each book has unique characters and plots and are super well written.

If you're a fan of a good romantic comedy then you can't go wrong here. I'd definitely recommend.

This book is about Madeleine who is Lucas Thatcher's sister from the book Anything You Can Do, she works as a realtor in Hamilton, Tx and Adam the new vet in the city!

The book start with Madeleine and her messy life and her new little dog (hahaha) who by accident runs over a pretty good looking guy.. that later we know as Adam who doesn't even accept an apology from Madeleine, but later she will know that this handsome guy is Mouse's vet and the newest person in town!!!

So they start like a difficult relation because Mouse is a really bad behaving dog, but of course Adam would help with this! ;) ... After they start know each other, the feelings increase but Adam is not sure about start dating again, he was in a really long relationship that didn't end well, so I think I can understand his insecurites about start the whole love thing.

But after some situations, that OMG some of them wil make you laugh so much!!! They can't denied their feelings so they start to date and all of those things and see what happen... Of course when everything is "perfect" because finally Madeleine life's start to go in a good way, something has to happen to makes her doubt about Adam's feeling... but at the end the love that they have to each other is stronger that everything! Of course this book is HEA!!!

This book has a lot of comedy, romance and even drama!! I LOVE this book so much!!! and R.S. Grey is one of my favorite authors, her books always makes me fell in love with her characters!!

This was the cutest, most adorable book, ever!
Loyal and loving dog? Check!
Awkward and adorable girl? Check!
Extremely attractive vet? Double check!
I love R.S. Grey’s writing style, she never disappoints! Foxe & the Hound was funny, witty, and cute. It was an easy read, that I found myself sailing through it, and not wanting it to end.
Foxe & the Hound is a story about trust, forgiveness, rejection, acceptance, and facing your fears.
Adam and Madeleine's chemistry is almost instant. They have a bit of a love/hate relationship. What they don’t realize at first is that love doesn’t wait for you to be ready. It happens quick, and forcefully, and it’s up to you whether you’re going to let it slip away.
Oh, and you get two love stories! There is nothing cuter than a puppy love romance!

Sweet, charming, and utterly adorable!!! R.S. Grey is back at it again with her literary signature of playful romantic comedies. It’s no secret that Grey has paved her way in this genre as someone to look out for but she has officially embedded herself as an author who can bring sass, humor, and freshness with all her stories and that’s what she has done in her latest release, The Foxe & The Hound.

Romantic Comedies can either be a hit or miss with me since it’s all about the inner dialogue, timing, and writing that makes or breaks the book. And in the case for The Foxe & The Hound, R.S. Grey timed everything perfectly. She allowed her readers to feel the presence of her characters and see the relationship develop in a way that excites and makes you smile like a fool. Yes, I was that reader who was stupidly smiling to herself as I was reading this book on my train ride to work. What’s not to love when the heroine was a total spitfire and had to interact with a cynical hero. Yes, it was a recipe for a riot of entertainment. There is not much I can say but go read and discover why so many readers are raving about this book. The writing, the characters, and story line were on point. The humor and romance were perfectly integrated and had the perfect balance. So yes, I highly recommend you to one click this book now.

The Foxe & the Hound was hilarious and perfect, the only thing I can find fault with was that I wanted more. I just never wanted The Foxe & the Hound to end. Ever.

The 'meet-cute' between Madeleine and Adam was epic, it's the stuff that romantic comedies are made of! Madeleine with all of her imperfections and she doesn't have her life together (we're kindred spirits) and a disgruntled Adam Foxe.

"And if he weren't currently scowling at me, I'd swoon. Hell, even with the scowl I swoon a little bit."

Their relationship was filled with mishaps and clumsiness. I was laughing and my stomach did that weird twisty thing when you know someone is about to get their heart broke. I can't even begin to explain to you the amount of joy that this story brought me. It makes me want to go adopt a dog and have a run in with a sexy stranger. Adam's mom and sister-in-law were some of my favorite side characters and if I could bring them to life and have them adopt me I would be one content girl.

If you are looking for a romantic comedy that is hilarious, without being over the top or raunchy then you need to pick up this book today!

For some reason, I didn’t realize that this book was also set in the small town of Hamilton, but I’m so glad it was and that we got to catch up with Lucas and Daisy while getting Madeleine’s quirky love story.

Madeleine and Adam meet in a not-so-great way and start off on the wrong foot with each other. Though being in a small town makes running into each other easier whether they want to see each other or not. But when both need something, they figure they can use each other for something good.

I loved both characters. Adam was such a great guy, and I understood his hesitation for a real relationship. Madeleine was such a fun, quirky character. She was a bit of a mess, but it was endearing. They fit together so well and I couldn’t wait until they gave in and did something about their feelings for each other!

I loved being able to read about Lucas and Daisy and see how they were doing as a couple. They are both such big parts of Madeleine’s life as her brother and best friend.

This book was another great read by R.S. Grey. I love reading her books, and I look forward to reading more from her in the future.
