Lauren Layne is a favorite of mine because of books exactly like this one.

Georgianna "Georgie" and Andrew are opposites. She comes across as a little flighty, maybe a little self absorbed and shallow. And, Andrew comes across as cold. This is a story about people learning about the other, and then learning that those first impressions do not tell the whole story.

This is a slow burn, there are parts with amazing chemistry, there is a scene where Andrew is so cruel to Georgie that your heart breaks for her...and then for him when you realize he didn't mean it the way he said it. Not at all.

This book works because Lauren Layne's particular strength is writing the characters and then letting the characters lead you through the telling of the story. It's what makes you love the characters, and it is what makes you want to know what happens next to them. And, it is what makes a story like this one work, because it is about people, and about how perceptions of other can be right, and also about how they can lead you to think things that aren't true.

There is a little bit of a twist/hurdle in the middle of this one, and I think it was a little predictable...but at the same time, sometimes in a book an event is predictable because the author has laid the correct groundwork to lead up to it that when it happens, you are not at all surprised. This is what happens in this one, and the resolution of it really gives Andrew and Georgie a chance to shine as the new people they have become throughout the story.

At this point, I would read Lauren Layne's grocery list. But instead of that list, she keeps giving us books like this one. And, readers everywhere are better for it.

This is a standalone, so if you are reading this review and have never read her work, start here. You won't be disappointed.

I recommend this book.

This is a great new story written by Lauren Layne. It is charming and sassy, has great chemistry between the main characters Georgianna Watkins & Andrew Mulroney while the settings in the book are written that they make you feel as if you are right there.
This story was full of passion, of chemistry, of humor, of witty banter—I loved Walk Of Shame!! I couldn’t stop reading once I started and was up until the wee hours of the morning because I had to re-read this fantastic story. Georgie is an heiress yet she isn’t the typical heiress that you would think of. She is a sweetheart and she is kind and smart. She gets a bum rap in the media which makes people think all kinds of bad things about her that aren’t true. She tries to get people to see that she isn’t a bad person and soon people start to see this EXCEPT the stick up his rear divorce attorney Andrew. He says mean things to her or he makes it a point to ignore her- there is no middle ground with him. Andrew is a super smart divorce attorney and grew up like one of those boy genius types. He is successful, rich in his own right yet something about Georgie rubs him the wrong way.
Their relationship starts off rocky but yet their witty banter is their saving grace and the chemistry between them is red hot. I also liked the secondary characters and just how there were some angst and some twists and turns in this RomCom story. It is really complex yet sweet with the layers you undercover as you read thru Georgie and Andrew’s love story. What a great ending for this couple and a beautiful story.

My rating: 4.7 stars ****

5 Witty and Fun Stars!!

I absolutely loved Walk of Shame! Loved it!! Another great read by Lauren Layne!

If you are looking for a book with witty banter, funny and relatable characters, a touch of angst, and some heat, then this is the book for you!

Georgie is a Manhattan princess socialite whose days are made up of sleeping and shopping, while her nights are spent partying. By that description she seems like a h that we would love to hate. But there is no hating on Georgie! She is also witty, funny, caring, and someone you want to be your best friend!

Andrew is the top divorce lawyer in Manhattan. He is also a boy genius who seems to have trouble just talking, but when you look as good as he does.... who needs to talk?

Georgie and Andrew meet every morning as she is coming in from her late nights and he is heading out for his day. They are a completely mismatched pair who push each other's buttons. Actually, getting under the other's skin seems to be the highlight of their day.

When the gauntlet is thrown, and the stakes are raised, they seem to find common ground. However, will it be enough to overcome the lack of communication, misunderstandings, and hurt feelings along the way?

I laughed so many times while reading this. I absolutely LOVE witty banter in a book! Lauren Layne has written a book with the perfect amount of everything.... banter, laugh out loud moments, steam, angst, and sweetness.

I absolutely loved everything about Walk of Shame. It was another amazing Lauren Layne book I can add to my collection that not only made me laugh and swoon, but one that put a big cheesy smile on my face for the entire time as I read it. This was a perfect enemies to lover romance that was sexy, snarky and so damn clever. It was one of her best books she has ever written and I never wanted it to end.

Andrew and Georgia were perfect together. But pure opposites if you looked at them at first glance. He was a rigid, follow ALL the rules, sarcastic and workaholic divorce attorney who looked at love as something that inevitably failed and she was a sassy, optimistic, sweet and caring socialite who was still waiting for her Prince Charming. But what happens when these neighbors inevitably clash and butt heads? Fireworks, folks! Ms. Sweet and Sassy and Mr. Control freak go head to head in a battle of wits and laughs that will have you dying of laughter and all of the swoons. But what happens when lingering secrets come to a head? Will Mr. Commitment phobic be able to give Georgie what she needs?

This was an amazing Lauren Layne book that I could not read fast enough. It had amazing chemistry, humor and a connection that was to die for. I can't wait for her next one!

I love an opposites attract book because it’s always so much fun trying to figure who will compromise- and what they’ll compromise – to end up with the love of their life.
WALK OF SHAME is a classic opposites-attract love story.

Socialite and pampered party girl princess Georgie Watkins is living the dream life of any 20-something New Yorker. Dancing till dawn with friends and enjoying life, she starts to think she might be missing something a little more important in her life. When new neighbor Andrew Mulroney moves into her building the same day she does, it starts a little friendly war of words and barbs that show just how much they are different. She’s coming in from a night on the town at exactly the same time he is off starting his work day. Every day.

Both are drawn to the other for purely different reasons( of course!) but they struggle with finding the equal playing field they need.

This was a good story, as all Lauren Layne books are. Witty, quick, and cute. It’s told in two opposing viewpoints ( of course!), with Georgianna in first person and Andre in third. Luckily, the chapter headings gave you a clue when the POV shifts occur.

Another great read from a fun, flirty and prolific author. I highly recommend this for a fab summer read.

Georgianna Watkins is living the life with societal obligations as her primary focus thanks to being born to money. Though the constant partying has started to become mundane, she finds she enjoys arriving in the lobby of her apartment building every morning just as the stuffy suit is leaving to begin his daily routine. She strives to find new ways to get under his skin.

Andrew Mulroney is as dependable as they come. His life is all about routine and little Miss Socialite interferes with that. Truth be told, he enjoys their daily interactions and seeing how far he can push her away.

I loved this story so much I devoured it within a day's time. The banter between the main characters was entertaining and their chemistry was combustible. The story is mostly told from Georgie's perspective though there is a little of Andrew's mixed in. The story had a good flow and the characters were multi-dimensional. I loved how the author made Georgie relateable and Andrew redeemable. There were moments I found myself laughing out loud as I was immersed in the story.

This is the first I've read of this author and will most certainly check out her other works. I would highly recommend this book to a friend.

This is my favorite book by Lauren Layne to date. I can even say it's my favorite so far for 2017.

Georgie is perfectly ridiculous in so many ways. She is the friend everyone wants to have and be around. I fell in love with her character instantly. I love that she is such a sweet and kind person but strong and has that "won't let anyone walk all over her" attitude. She's so much fun and am happy the she tries to break through Andrew's walls.

Andrew's a high-profile celebrity divorce attorney. He knows marriage is not for him especially when he sees the hurt that divorces cause. But his neighbor's timing is in sync with his routine. She has a life and spirit that is completely opposite of his. Now he's looking forward to running into her every morning and when they finally kiss, that's it.

The teasing between this couple kept me just as anxious for them to hook up. I could not put this down for even a minute. I had to know where these two would end up.

Lauren Layne's writing just gets better and better. Grab a glass of wine and relax as you enter the world of Georgie and Andrew.

**Spoiler Alerts**
The book involves two characters, Georgianna (Georgie for short) and Andrew, who live in the same building. She is a hip, trendy heiress. He is a well-known divorce lawyer. From the first, Georgie and Andrew develop an acrimonious relationship because they are forced to share the loading dock when they move in on the same day. During their exchanges, both seem self-centered and way too high maintenance. I could not understand the initial animosity. "Can't we all just get along." Georgie seemed a little too dependent on Andrew's approval to make her happy. Andrew seemed emotionally stunted and was not a nice person. After a series of pleasant exchanges, they both start to see each other in a positive light. To sort out her feelings, Georgie convinces Andrew to go on a date with one of her girlfriends. Instead of going on the date, Andrew shows up at Georgie's apartment. He then declares his interest in Georgie.
I sort of enjoyed the opposites-attract premise and their verbal sparring until the point that they first have sex. Due to the characters' new relationship, my mind literally came to a screeching halt. Before they have sex, Andrew asks "Do I need a condom?" Instead, Georgie spews some stupid response that she is on birth control and religious about her doctor's appointment. She also assumes that he is also anal about getting tested. What???? NO, NO, NO, and NO!!!!! First, Georgie has only liked Andrew for two weeks. Second, she does not know his dating/sexual history. Third, Andrew was on his way to a date but he does not think to bring or get protection. Fourth, he has the temerity to ask; so, he usually must have sex ungloved. I find it hard to believe that Andrew, a New York divorce lawyer, would trust his life or potential parenthood to any woman in this scenario. Lastly, by making assumptions about Andrew's habits, Georgie is not protecting herself from worse things than pregnancy such as STD's. I know that this is fiction but Georgie and Andrew are TSTL. Although it might ruin the mood, sex without condoms with a new partner until both partners get tested is irresponsible in fiction or in fact.
After reading the condom conversation, I was in disbelief and dismay. It took me a week to pick this romance book up again. I was not enthralled by the book anyway; so, I really had to force myself to finish it. I was disappointed in the author. I am not judging consensual sex between adults; the author's bad judgment, however, regarding unprotected sex between her fictional characters was unacceptable.

Lauren Layne has once again delivered an amazing story that will make you laugh, melt your heart, break your heart, and then piece everything back together. It didn't take long for me to fall head over heels in love with the characters in this book. It all felt a bit fairytale like in the sense that I wanted so badly for the happily ever after to come and nobody to have been hurt, but of course there is always a little (or a lot) of heartbreak.
Andrew and Georgie meet nearly every morning. Neither really fond of the other, or at least that's what they think. There is a fine line between love and hate, and when these two figure out what side of the line they are on the pages instantly heat up. One secret stand to destroy everything. I was so invested in the story that at one point I wished I could climb through the pages and knock some sense into the characters. Overall Walk of Shame was nothing short of what we have come to expect from Layne, what it was, was so much more. Even though there is enough heartache, this is one of those feel good, make you love love, kind of books. I will definitely be reading it again.

Lauren Layne is the queen of sweet and funny colliding in stories, and Walk of Shame is my new favorite of hers! I loved loved loved this book. It leaves you with a stupid grin on your face, and a warm feeling in your heart. You have the rigid, yet awkwardly hot divorce attorney Andrew. His eye rolls and banters with the socialite of his building occur at 5am most days. Georgie is said socialite, she's adorable, always the life of the party, witty and smart, but her new mission in life is to get under Andrew's skin, even while hoping to get between the sheets with him.
These two are pure perfection together, snarky banter, steamy looks, and being utterly ridiculous. Walk of Shame in my opinion is the top of Lauren Layne's writing to date. You don't want to miss this heartwarming story about enemies-to-lovers.
A huge thank you to the author and publisher for a copy via NetGalley to review.

Socialite Georgianna "Georgie" Watkins life as a party-girl is starting to feel a little blah, and a little lonely. She's ready for some change. In walks the perfect distraction in the form of her neighbor Andrew Mulroney, a divorce attorney for the rich and famous.

Andrew and Georgie clash right from the beginning. She finds him to be too uptight, and he finds her to be ridiculous. All this clashing, however, just masks the fact that they are utterly and completely attracted to one another. But can two people who come from two totally different worlds make it work?

Walk of Shame was such a fun surprise of a read. I mean I've enjoyed other books by Lauren Layne, but this one just hit all the marks for me perfectly. The initial back-and-forth between Georgie and Andrew is absolutely delicious. I loved that even though they were unsure about each other and about their feelings for each at first, there was still this devotion they had to one another. Neither one was willing to let their feelings go, even when other opportunities arose.

I loved that Georgie kind of destroys all stereotype expectations that Andrew has about her in the beginning. Just because she comes from money, doesn't have to work, and enjoys staying out all night partying, doesn't mean that she's shallow, or brainless or mean. Georgie is sweet and vivacious. Able to make anyone her friend in a matter of minutes with her outgoing personality. It's not a faked personality either, she's genuine.

Once Andrew discovers this, he starts to look at Georgie in a new light, and thereby looks at himself in a new light. Andrew is not the typical, self-assured, handsome, ladies man. For one thing, he's pretty much a genius, and he's worked hard and skipped grades in order to graduate law school at an extremely early age, then making partner at his law-firm by thirty. These are wonderful accomplishments, but he's also been an outsider for most of his life. So his people skills aren't the best, which is clear in the way he deals with Georgie in certain situations, but he tries, and he too is genuinely a nice guy. Georgie helps him break out of his shell a little bit.

Of course there's going to be conflict, and I thought that the conflict that Lauren Layne threw into the mix was extremely plausible. It went along with the story and the characters very well and didn't seem to come out of left-field at all.

Walk of Shame was such a quick read. I would say the only downside was the limited fleshing out of the secondary characters. Namely, Andrew's brother and sister-in-law, and Georgie's mom and dad. They are integral components to both Andrew and Georgie, but I felt like there were a few areas and interactions that I wanted more from.

Otherwise, this was the perfect read for me. Despite the fact that this is #4 in a series, there was absolutely nothing that kept it from being a standalone. I haven't even read the other books, and I was still able to enjoy this one.

4.5 stars -- I received a free copy through NetGalley in exchange for an honest and unbiased review/opinion.

This book was so much of what I love about Lauren Layne. It gave me butterfly tummy tingles, it made me LAUGH OUT LOUD, it made me giggle quietly, and it gave the mouth hurts from grinning too wide. And not only that, it gave me frowny faces, and tummy hurts, and chest tightening too. So basically all the good things for a great book.

I wasn't sure how I would like Georgie, but it turns out a lot. She's nothing like I'm usually familiar, a wealthy socialite whose life involves brand names and high end shopping and perfect makeup and being seen in the best restaurants and partying most nights until the early hours. And I'm SOOOO not that kind of girl. But here's the thing: she's also really sweet and kind and big-hearted and a lover of the HEA. And *that* I can relate to. Her vulnerability and sensitivity really hit me hard too. I reacted pretty much the same to everything that she encountered in this book. But she was also strong, and not willing to bend for the wrong reasons. Sometimes I wish we could have seen more development of her character, and seen what happened with her restlessness with her current lifestyle. Did she look into a job?

Andrew surprised me in a good way too!! Having an enemies to lovers story, I was worried that he was going to be a dick or something. But he wasn't! Or at least not intentionally. He was so much deeper than I had been anticipating, and I hadn't quite realized where his animosity...well, not quite animosity, but his rigidness came from. I really appreciated that. The problem honestly is that I wanted MORE from Andrew. We get a lot of hints, but because we only got maybe a third of the book in his head, I felt like I didn't really get him as much, and I ended the book with questions. We get hints, and I can make up my own answers, but I'd much rather know, you know? Like why a divorce lawyer? Why his rejection of marriage? Was it just the logical stuff? Was there more? I really really really wanted more. Because his vulnerability and desperation and confusion with Georgiana was just freaking adorable and made me want to hug him. But I am pretty greedy with my heroes, so even without all the questions I had, I still would have liked more in his head, b/c I love equal time if I'm given dual POVs.

I wouldn't say I'm a huge fan of the enemies-to-lovers trope, but one thing it does bring you is a lot of sexual tension and fun banter at times. And it was done so well in this book. And when they finally collide, DAMN girl!! Just, woosh.

And I even enjoyed the secondary characters in this one, though none of them really got a lot of screen time. But they were diverse and I enjoyed their interactions with our MCs.

So yeah, total hit for me. Honestly the only reason I'm rounding down is because I'm a greedy SOB and wanted more from Andrew. :P

Enchantingly sexy, flirty and fun to read. Lauren Layne delivers another romance to fall for, keeping us frantically flipping pages with the irresistible chemistry between a socialite who believes in fairytale endings and an uptight, pessimistic divorce lawyer who doesn’t believe in love. Walk of Shame has fabulous sexual tension, snarky sarcasm, and fun banter that will make you swoon, smile and laugh.

Although New York socialite Georgianna Watkins loves to shop by day and party by night, the best part of her day is when the party ends and she accidentally on purpose runs in with the stodgy neighbor who hates her is leaving for his long workday. She’s determined to make him like her, but nothing more. The enjoyment she gets from mocking him and excitement from seeing him every day has nothing to do with her wanting more, or does it? Can she crack the uptight and serious exterior of Andrew Mulroney, Esquire?

Andrew Mulroney didn’t inherit the partner position in his law firm, he earned it with hard work. Something the beautiful Georgianna probably knows nothing about and one of the many reasons he should not be interested in her. He’s also noticed she’s honest, has a sweet, caring heart and sharp wit, which makes her even more attractive even though he knows the two of them don’t make sense together. Besides, he doesn’t have time for relationships. But when one of their early morning arguments ends with an epic kiss, he finds himself wanting more.

Do you remember Giselle from Disney movie Enchanted? She was impossible not to love, right? Lauren Layne captures that essence perfectly in Geogie. I just loved her. She comes from money but isn’t spoiled or snobby. She’s genuine and kind, easy to get along with. She even chatted up and brought doughnut to every morning to her doormen. The only one who didn’t like her was Andrew, who fought tooth and nail against their attraction.

Most would think that Andrew’s life was complete. Smart, good looking, had achieved success at an early age, famous in his own right. But his life was colorless and dreary, right down to his all black workout gear. Well, except for his red sneakers. He was so proper, but got awkward and flustered every time he was around Georgie. It was very endearing.

The writing is wonderful, from the city descriptions that made me feel like I was right there in NY, to being in Georgie’s head. The story has a wonderful flow and the secondary characters are charming. I hope we get a story for Marley!

Walk of Shame is standalone contemporary romance by author Lauren Layne. This is a frenemies to lovers story that has everything I love to read in romantic comedies. It’s adorably fun, delightfully sexy and lighthearted. It is told from both points of view with a happy ending.

Oh my goofiness!! Ahhh...I loved this one so much. It was so cute, and funny, and serious and intense, all at the same time.

This couple definitely made my day. It's been a long time since I have been able to sit down and read a book in a day. This one caught me that hard, and wouldn't let me go.

What happens when a rich party girl with no job and a stuck up, no nonsense high profile lawyer go at it? You get this book.

Georgie is a New York socialite with no job, and nothing better to do than party. Because of an inheritance left to her by her grandmother, she was able to buy an apartment in a rather fancy building. Little did she know, on move in day, she would be getting on someone's bad side. Her and Andrew clash almost instantly. She loves to annoy the heck out of him, and does it ever chance she can. She was living a dream life, only working for charities she cared about. Coming and going as she pleased. Partying whenever she wanted. It was everything she wanted. Until she realized it wasn't anymore. Every girl wants her happily ever after. But no one ever said prince charming would be such a piece of work.

Andrew has worked hard to get where he is in his career. Making partner at one of the top law firms at his age, is unheard of. But brains and smarts come easy to him. So does his routine. His structure. Until Georgie! Not only does she make move in day rough, she makes every day complicated. She's messy, and parties too much. He's never seen someone more 'ridiculous'. He knows she annoys him on purpose, and it drives him crazy. Crazy is the last thing he needs in his perfectly boring life. But soon he realizes, maybe a little mess is worth it. Georgie turns Andrew's life upside down, backwards, and rightside up again. In all her craziness, she is one of the most sweetest and caring women he has ever met. He just doesn't know if he can handle it.

I was constantly giggling through this one. I have never seen bickering before, like I have with these two. One is so serious and the other is just along for the ride. It was rather interesting.

I loved Georgie. I loved her craziness. I loved her randomness. I loved her spunk. Just everything about her is rather awesome.

Andrew, Andrew, Andrew. Lord, I did not know what to do with Andrew. Lol. He had me wanting to strangle him, then kiss him. I'm so glad that he was able to loosen up a little and see the other side of the world. The more colorful side. The 'perfectly ridiculous' side.

Walk of Shame is an absolutely perfect romantic comedy! It has a storyline and characters that will truly warm your heart! Georgie Watkins and Andrew Mulroney are complete opposites from one another. Their first meeting is a testament to that. You would think that they would avoid each other like the plague, but Georgie finds herself getting up at the crack of dawn to see Andrew each morning in the lobby of their apartment building. Andrew finds himself looking forward these encounters. With each one, I could tell there was something magic there, hidden under the sarcasm and cutting remarks. What begins as harmless encounters develops into a romance that I won’t soon forget.

I can always count on Lauren Layne to come up with characters full of personality and quirkiness. Georgie is no exception. She comes across as a socialite who makes a living doing nothing except spending her family’s fortune. WOW, was I in for a shocker. She’s full of life and brings color and joy to those around her…yes, even the straight-laced Andrew. I love how she gets to know each person she comes into contact with, whether it’s the doorman of her apartment building or Andrew’s assistant. What’s not to love about Georgie?
Andrew is completely opposite of Georgie. He’s super intelligent, not that Georgie isn’t. He’s just crazy smart…graduating from college and law school early and becoming the youngest partner in his law firm. He’s a successful divorce attorney with high-powered clients, yet he doesn’t really have much in the social skills department, especially with women. When Georgie comes roaring into his life, all that will change. She brings out some of his best qualities, ones he didn’t even know he had.

The relationship between the two is a slow burn, but oh is it a good one! Sometimes the anticipation is as good as the deed itself, in this romance, it definitely is. Their chemistry is undeniable, and their sarcastic banter just adds to it.

Walk of Shame is one of those books I can see on the big screen as a blockbuster romantic comedy. It reminds me of You’ve Got Mail which is one of my all-time favorite movies. I can always count on Lauren Layne to give me a book that takes me away from reality for just a little bit. If you want a book that is the perfect mixture of sexy and sweet, sprinkled with humor and characters that will find a special place in your heart, you have to give Lauren Layne a try. Once you read one of her books, you’ll be hooked for life.

Georgie Watkins, is a wealthy young woman who spends her time shopping, dancing and drinking all night with friends, and working on charitable functions. The day she moves into a luxury high-rise in New York, she meets Andrew Mulroney, a prominent divorce attorney. Georgie is friendly with everyone and is well liked but Andrew treats her very coolly with a somewhat superior manner. She’s not quite sure how to handle his attitude. Since he insists on calling her Georgiana she calls him Andy just to irritate him.

The more they see each other, you know they are interested in each other but are so different that you can’t quite see them together initially. Their interactions are beyond funny and I couldn’t stop reading, wanting to see what Georgie would do next. She is so vivacious, friendly and caring and Andrew seems so remote. Georgie seems to delight in finding ways to needle Andrew. He calls her ridiculous but you see the meaning slowly change throughout the story.

Andrew never seemed to know what to say to Georgie and many times the things that came out of his mouth were mean but not what he meant. I could easily feel the hurt that Georgie felt but it was somewhat funny to see him scrambling to think of what to say. For someone that was such a famous attorney, he couldn’t seem to say the right thing to her. It certainly didn’t help that he worked on so many high profile and contentious divorces, which would make it difficult to believe in HEAs.

I love dual POVs and while the majority of the book is from Georgie’s POV, I loved seeing a bit from Andrew. It was a special insight to his frustration in not knowing how to understand and interact with Georgie. It also tugged at my heart seeing his vulnerability.

The movie references in the story are a perfect fit for each scene. The characters are well developed and I loved the secondary characters also. I found myself wanting to be included in Georgie’s group of friends.

Georgie is one funny woman and I laughed out loud several times throughout the story. There are some sad parts to the story but it was mostly funny, sweet, sexy, and a HEA. When they finally have their sexy times, I was just as astounded as Georgie to see that Andrew is definitely NOT stodgy or a boring lawyer-type! They have an extremely passionate connection and it was scorching!

I love epilogues and this was a short but sweet one and left me wanting more of Georgie and Andrew!

Walk of Shame was my first experience reading Lauren Layne. I’ve seen her books around a lot and was familiar with her name, but for some reason there just was never a book that really jumped out at me. When a friend of mine, who just might be more opinionated than I am, gave this book a glowing review, I couldn’t resist. The cover is adorable and enemies-to-lovers is one of my all time favorite tropes. I was not disappointed.

Layne’s writing is excellent. She pulled me in right from the beginning. It flowed well, making it an easy read. It’s one of those books that you sit down for a few minutes to read and before you know it you’ve read a hundred pages.

Everything about this book worked for me – except the characters. Okay, maybe I’m exaggerating a touch, that’s not exactly true. I never felt like I truly connected with Georgie’s character. She’s this spoiled rich socialite who, by all appearances, parties every night until 5 AM and when she gets bored, she might chair a committee for a charity. The lack of drive to do something with her life was kind of annoying for me. I didn’t feel like her character went through any real growth.

In the case of Andrew, it’s kind of the same story. Except opposite. Same in the way that I didn’t really connect with him, but opposite in every single personality trait. He’s unflinchingly stringent in his routines. Georgie eats donuts on the daily and he won’t stray from his boring protein shake on the way to the gym. He’s a serious, hardworking lawyer and relatively boring. Uptight is a great word to describe him. I loved that they were polar opposites, I think that can really serve to heighten the tension, but he never really loosened up the way I wanted him to and Georgie never really grew up the way I wanted her to. Though, it must be said, I’ll give Andrew a little credit. He had some minor character growth. He could’ve done better though.

But, having said all of that, I really couldn’t put this book down. It was fantastic. The tension was great and I ate up the verbal sparring. Good banter is one of my very favorite things in a book. It was certainly entertaining. I recommend this one when you’re in the mood for something funny, sweet, and easygoing. Great rom-com for everyone.

WALK OF SHAME is the fourth installment in Lauren Layne’s contemporary, adult LOVE UNEXPECTEDLY romance series. This is high powered, divorce attorney Andrew Mulroney, and heiress Georgianna Watkins’s story line. WALK OF SHAME can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty.

Told from first person point of view (Georgianna), and third person perspective (Andrew) WALK OF SHAME follows the building relationship between divorce attorney Andrew Mulroney, and heiress Georgianna Watkins. Georgianna is a party girl but the late nights (early mornings) are starting to catch up with our heroine so much so that Georgie schedules her arrival at home at the same time her ‘surly’ neighbor Andrew Mulroney leaves for the gym. Their tempestuous back and forth/ sexually charged banter pushes all of Andrew’s buttons until the day Andrew crosses a line with his snark and rude comments. From a hot, steamy kiss to nursing one another back to health following a raging case of the flu, Andrew and Georgie will face the future until the future comes crashing down.

Andrew Mulroney is a genius; a stuffed shirt who struggles with his attraction to the vibrant and vivacious, over the top tabloid princess Georgianna Watkins. Believing our heroine is nothing more than a spoiled heiress Andrew tries to keep his distance but Georgie is determined to prove that they belong with one another. The $ex scenes are intimate and intense without the use of sexually graphic, over the top language and text.

The world building focuses on the building relationship between Andrew and Georgia, and Andrews struggle to let Georgie into his life. Andrew’s famous self control and cold exterior hide a heart and soul that has difficulty letting go or falling in love. But Andrew keeps secret some information that if revealed will destroy Georgie’s life, and in the end will destroy his relationship with the woman with whom he is falling in love.

WALK OF SHAME is a sweet storyline with a heroine whose witty banter and endearing charm will make you smile, and pull you in to a tale about two people whose lives will collide in more ways than one. The premise is entertaining and lighthearted; the romance is captivating and sensual; the characters are passionate and inspiring. WALK OF SHAME is delightful read with a playful heroine, and a hero who struggles between head and heart.

Walk of Shame was crazy addicting, laugh out loud hilarious and continually pulled at my heartstrings. And when I closed the book, I couldn't stop the happy tears! Here's a few reasons why this is definitely my new favorite LL book!

✮Fabulous Heroine - I loved Georgiana Watkin's voice, aka Georgie, and that her happiness and friendliness was infectious. She was this honest, bubbly, hilarious women who had the most generous heart. She was such a good person.....even though she loved to get under Andrew's skin. But besides all that, she talked directly to us readers, sporadically. It made me feel like Georgie was my bff and I happily listened as she poured her heart and soul out to me. I loved everything about Manhattan's famous party girl!

✮Rigid Yet Sexy Hero - Andrew Mulroney, Esquire...a famous divorce attorney.... was structured, rigorous and completely no-nonsense. Yet he captivated me, especially when he had his morning squabbles with Georgie. It was so much fun watching Georgie push Andrew's buttons, and getting glimpses into the other sides of him. Even if I was always left wanting to desperately know or learn more about the allusive Andrew. Because even though it seemed as though Andrew was always in control, he wasn't always on his game and he was insanely hot when jealous! And I have to put this out there, but I truly believe that fans of Michael from After the Kiss, will fall just as hard for Andrew!!

✮Fun and Flirty Vibe - Georgie's party girl routine rubbed Andrew's off to the gym and then the corner office vibe at 5am the wrong way. Their morning confrontation in their lobby was always entertaining and the electricity running between the two of them was scorching hot. Well actually anytime they were near each other I always found myself smiling, laughing and then wanting to shove them together lol. Besides Walk of Shame being so much fun, LL writes some of the best banter, and she hit gold with Georgie and Andrew!

This book about polar opposites had me a giddy, laughing, crying mess! And I don't think I have ever happy cried so much, this book, oh, it made me a ridiculously emotional girl! *sigh* Walk of Shame was absolutely perfect! I loved it so much and I hope you do too!

I love Lauren Layne's books. LOVE them. Her heroines are always women I think I could be friends with, and her Hot Heroes are always HOT.

This book, though. I wasn't quite sure that Georgia and I could be friends. She's a wealthy socialite whose only job is staying out late with her friends. Yeah, she volunteers for various charities - which, in her defense, requires as much work as any paying gig - but she's directionless. As she hits her mid-twenties, it's time, don't you think, for her to find a direction? So I struggled a bit with relating to her.

In any other hands, Georgia would have remained shallow and meaningless, but Lauren Layne renders her a character with substance. Georgia wants to find meaning in her life. She wants to set goals for herself and reach those goals. She realizes that there has to be more to the life she is living, privileged as it is.

It doesn't help her that her parents are both driven, successful people. Her father is a real estate developer, and her mother has started a fashion line. Georgia sees, however, that while those two are good at what they do professionally, they are not good at marriage.

It also does not help that Andrew Mulroney finds her frivolous at best. They live in the same apartment building and butt heads every time they see each other, which turns out to be somewhat frequently: they meet in passing most mornings at 5 AM as Andrew is begins his day as one of the city's most successful divorce attorneys and she ends hers with a "walk of shame."

These two cannot have a conversation with arguing with and insulting each other, and it is hilarious to read. All along, Lauren Layne builds tension between them - tension and passion. It's clear they are attracted to each other, but so what? To have a true relationship, substance must exist. Whereas Georgia lacks that professionally, Andrew lacks it emotionally. Georgia's heart is wide open; Andrew's is on lockdown.

The thing about the title is that Georgia isn't the only one who must endure walks of shame. So does Andrew, and his cause far more emotional angst. On the surface, this seems like a fun, frothy romance, but Layne gives it substance and emotional depth. She also delivers the quiver with some hot headboard rocking. Like, super hot.

You'll like this book.

I received an earc from the author for the purpose of a honest review
I love Layne’s Unexpectedly Love series as they are standalones and all about unexpected love. It easy to pick and choice with this series though personally I wouldn’t’ want to even though the heroine of her latest novel is the type that people will hate. She fits the bored rich girl persona easily.

It how the hero saw her as well . It formed the basis for their relationship and how it will dragged us as readers in with their pettiness. As underneath behind it all , Georgina wasn’t a bad sort. She was product of her up bring and she didn’t know how to handle her feelings for a guy like Andrew. She couldn’t help provoke the hero, Andrew who didn’t know how to deal with her except deal with aloof as he didn’t know how to express himself with out making himself look like a fool

It was simple concept but Layne brought it to life like I expected her to . Georgina despite her annoying persona, seemed to have a weakness that you wanted to know more of . As Andrew didn’t at first to be the guy she needs and wants .

He was her total opposite, he may be in the same class as her but it due to hard work. He lives an organised life. His world is quiet and controlled. He doesn’t party to wee hours. He tucked up in bed, getting rest, preparing himself for the next day as any good successful attorney should.

Until this socialite drags him into her walk of shame and won’t let him go. He becomes part of her world ,where nothing can go wrong. Something that an attorney like Andrew will never believe or will he?

I love this total opposite ,odd ball kind of couple story we got going here. It feels exactly like how it was inspired by and I loved the quirkiness of this. I knew I was in for a treat with these two the moment I picked up this book and I wasn’t disappointed. Social awkward meets socialite, it never was going to bode well for each of them

However they saw past right that and was hooked even thought it was far from smooth sailing. It just the sort of romance you just want . Light fun and a little dash of fairytale magic. Walk of Shame will definitely be my favourite Layne novel to date with plenty of sparks and laughter.

As always, Lauren Layne crafted a beautifully written, entertaining story. I liked the way the narration in Walk of Shame was set up. Most of the story was in Georgie's first person perspective. She had this fun, overly cheerful way of presenting everything. It was a privileged but down to earth perspective. I don't know how Lauren Layne was able to combine those two things, but she did. Other, smaller parts of the story were told from Andrew's point of view. Instead of being in first person, his was in third. I liked the way Andrew's third person contrasted with Georgie's first.

The love-hate thing Georgie and Andrew had going on was awesome. I loved every minute of their witty banter and comebacks. The progression of their relationship was perfect. It was a sweet slow burn.

Georgie was your typical famous heiress. She didn't have a day job. She sent most of her time shopping, doing charity work, maintaining her beauty regimen, and partying with friends. Georgie could have easily been shallow, but she wasn't. She appreciated her life and was constantly examining it. There was a depth to her I wouldn't have expected. Georgie was always trying to prove herself.

Andrew reminded me a tiny bit of Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory without all of the crazy ticks. He was a thinker. Everything was looked at logically, and his decisions were based on fact not feeling. Andrew was smart in everything except people skills. He had no clue what to make of Georgie, and his figuring it all out was so much fun. I would have liked a little more insight into Andrew's cynicism. I felt there should have been more to it than just his job.

I loved every minute of this cheeky romance. Walk of Shame was ridiculously fun, fresh and exciting. I couldn't put it down, and read it in one night. Fans of Layne's Love Unexpectedly series are sure to fall in love with Walk of Shame.

As a huge fan of ‘opposite attract’, and after reading the blurb I knew I had to read this book.

It was FUN, SEXY, LIGHT-HEARTED and had great banter.

I love opposite attract – it usually starts with great banter, sexual tension and leads to more fun along the way.

In Walk of Shame I started to adore Andrew Mulroney from the very first moment. He, a divorce lawyer of the rich and famous, was so stuffy and seemed to have NO humor at all. But behind the scenes, he was adorable.

Georgianna Watkins, a wealthy socialite in Manhattan, was easy to love. She was genuinely good, even so she liked to party, she was a trust fund baby and bubbly and fun to be around – like I said she was incredibly easy to like and I would kill to have her as my BFF. ?

Georgianna and Andrew seemed to be like oil and water. Nothing Georgie said made an impression on Andrew. He thought she was RIDICULOUS – perfectly ridiculous.:D

I loved Andrew. He worked so HARD. All he did was work, went to the gym, and worked some more. There was no fun or light-heartedness anywhere in his life- that’s why Georgianna was so PERFECT for him. She was the easy going girl, sexy, sweet, seemingly immune to his grouchiness and she brought a smile to his lips.

I LOVED how both were secretly scheduling their times in such a way that they would pass each other in the lobby each morning.

It was ADORABLE!!!

Andrew and Georgie were such a wonderful and cute couple.

They were clearly opposite in their personality but that didn’t mean that they weren’t perfectly matched because of it. Georgie gave Andrew a part that was dearly missing in his life. Someone to come home to, to cook, to sit and curl up on the coach with. Suddenly his life was not all about work and gym.

It didn’t surprise me how easy it was for Georgie to change her priorities. She was ready for a guy in her life – she was ready for Andrew.

Lauren Layne never failed to deliver heroes I fall hard for. Andrew was such a grouch. He kept his feelings and emotions so tightly locked that it took Georgie quite a while to break through his walls. But Georgie was everything else than a quitter. She was fine with taking baby steps, and her strategy was definitely working out for her. I loved watching these two completely opposite people fall head over heels in love with each other

Walk of Shame (Love Unexpectedly #4) by Lauren Layne was such an “enchanting” story that I read it in one sitting. You couldn’t have pried it from my hands.

Party girl, Georgianna "Georgie" Watkins has a wonderful life. She is a pampered heiress, especially since her grandma left her a nice trust fund, and has never had to work a day in her life. She is also an only child with two very well off parents. The most Georgie has to ever worry about is what to buy when she goes shopping or which fundraiser she should be helping out at. While this may sound like a great, her dating life is anything but. It's always the same type of rich, cocky guys which completely bore Georgie. Now, the guy who lives in 79B in her apartment building whom she sees every morning at 5:00 am when she is just getting in from a night of partying does pique her interest.

Andrew Mulroney is a very successful divorce attorney and likes his routine life. Out the door every day at 5:00 am to work out at the gym, then off to the office where he spends most of his time, then back home to start the routine all over. What he doesn't like is the bubbly Georgie, or Georgianna as he prefers to call her....or does he?

While these two may be polar opposites, they are just drawn to each other. Georgie purposely comes home every morning just before 5:00 am with a dozen donuts for the doormen, just waiting for Andrew to show up. Andrew secretly enjoys sparring with Georgie every morning, although he'd never admit it. The conversations between these two are perfect, laugh out loud awesomeness! Then finally one day the sparring turns to an earth shattering kiss...which just happens to get photographed by the paparazzi and their world explodes!

I really loved these characters. They were both so fun and entertaining. I really enjoyed how they balanced each other out so well. While Georgie is outgoing and friendly, Andrew is quiet and reserved. I just adored this story line and couldn't put this book down...it was THAT fun! So if you are looking for two great characters and a wonderful, laugh out loud, swooning story....I highly recommend giving this book a try!

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I am a HUGE Lauren Layne fan. I have read every book once and some even twice. Some have been absolute favorites, like the Stiletto series and others I enjoyed just didn't love but this story was incredible. LL has created two wonderfully different and fun characters in this story with Georgina and Andrew. If you are looking for snarky and funny story, well run to read this book because it was pure fun.

Georgina /Georgie and Andrew live in the same building and the title of the book is about Georgie and how she is coming home at 5am when Andrew is starting his day at 5am, supposedly she is doing the walk of shame, though she never really does.

Andrew and Georgie meet weekday mornings at 5am and they form relationship around that. The big kiss described in this story happens midway in the book and at that point both characters know they have a relationship with other even if they don't know what to call it.

If I was naming this book I think The Kiss is very appropriate as its a catalyst for how G and A finally end up exploring their attraction, before that they are both resistant to admitting to real feelings for the other. But that kiss changes everything.

I really LOVED this story. Beyond loved. I laughed alot during this story, and I also ached a lot too. This story is actually sweet and romantic. It explores a relationship round two extremely different and opposite characters. But who are both very lonely. Once they come together, they learn what happiness really is.

They have some big challenges in this story but I loved how hard they fall for the other and I loved all the one liners. if you enjoy snarky heroines and lots of laughter along with a sweet and romantic hero, then you will fall hard for Andrew like I totally did.

Georgie Watkins is as sweet as the donuts she provides the morning security crew in her upscale apartment building. She’s fun and loving, and everyone she meets just seem to love her. Well, MAYBE not everyone.
Andrew Mulroney is disciplined, smart, and not very tolerable. A former child genius, he knows what it feels like to be the odd-man out, and he’s just fine without a entourage of friends. He runs a tight schedule in his work and personal lives; no matter how much she tries, he refuses to let Georgie get under his skin with her irresistible charm.
At least that was the plan.
Some plans work out…others, not so much so.
Frenemies from the moment they meet, neither can resist tugging at the other’s strings. Georgie knows how to get Andrew’s attention, and eventually, she wants to keep it. A high profile lawyer for the rich and famous, he’s careful about the company he keeps, but Georgie is not one to be ignored. Their encounters are just as regular as Andrew’s schedule, and each one made me smile and/or laugh out loud. Just their verbal exchanges had me hooked, and there wasn’t one character that didn’t charm me. I was immediately pulled into their world. I clung on to every word, and embraced every scene. On the surface Georgie is the typical socialite. She spends her days shopping and her nights partying. But underneath all that perceived bubble-headedness is a beautiful, warm-hearted, caring, loyal person. Andrew is truly her opposite. He has a hard, tough, seemingly arrogant personality; but it’s not who he truly is. He just has problems expressing himself, something he learns full-on dealing with Georgie.
I absolutely love these two!
The plot is fresh, the flow is smooth, and the pace is perfect; so if you think for one moment that I’m going to suggest for you to NOT read this book, then “you are ridiculous.”
You should definitely grab and copy and clear your schedule. “That’s how you’ll know” that Layne is one of your new favorite authors.

I enjoyed reading this story. I needed a book that I was almost positive that I would enjoy so I immediately started reading this book. Yeah, Lauren Layne's work has become an almost guaranteed good read for me. There is just something about the way she is able to blend sexy and sweet into a romantic story that leaves a smile on your face that I just cannot get enough of. This book ended up being as good as I hoped it would be.

This book is listed as being the fourth book in the Love Unexpectedly series but there is really no connection between the books in this series at all. Readers can feel free to start anywhere you want with this series and read them in any order since they all function as stand alone novels.

This was an opposites attract kind of story. Georgie and Andrew are very different from each other. Georgie is a socialite who spends her time working on charity events and her nights going out on the town with her friends. Andrew is a top divorce lawyer who works hard and is very regimented. Georgie and Andrew tend to see each other in their building's lobby at 5 am when she is coming home from her evening and he is leaving to work out at the gym. Total opposites.

I loved the banter between Georgie and Andrew right from the start. Georgie is much more practiced at the back and forth but I loved how Andrew was able to keep up. It becomes evident quite quickly that this pair of individuals are very attracted to each other and the chemistry between then was wonderful. It was nice watching Georgie pull Andrew out of his uptight shell and I loved how perfectly ridiculous they really were together.

I would highly recommend this book to fans of contemporary romance. This book is sweet, sexy, funny, and charming. I can't wait to see what Lauren Layne comes up with next!

Walk of Shame was the first Lauren Layne book that I have read and I was not disappointed! It was a great read that was just enough of a romantic/funny/sexy story that I had to go back and TBR all of Lauren’s other books! This book was a great story about two people from two totally different worlds annoying the hell out of each other. Until it becomes so much more.

Georgie is a socialite who spends all of her time working on charity events, going out with friends every night, brunching with the parents every weekend, hell, she’s one busy girl!! Most importantly, she always made sure to be in the lobby of her apartment building at 5:00 a.m. SHARP so she can annoy the very rigid lawyer, Andrew, who refers to her as ridiculous every time he speaks with her.

Andrew is the best divorce lawyer that money can buy. However, he is very set in his routine, hardly ever smiles or socializes and annoys Georgie just as much as she annoys him. Little does Georgie know that Andrew enjoys their little encounters just as much as she does.

This story had me from the first chapter! Honestly, I was sucked in when Andrew was described as the love child of Thor and Captain America! That’s a story I can get behind!! ?

I absolutely love the banter between Georgie and Andrew. Even though Andrew is just so proper, he can really hold his own against Georgie’s quick wit and you can just feel the chemistry and wonder how they just don’t act on their attraction to each other!! It was nice to read a story that the main characters don’t jump each other’s bones within two chapters. I really enjoyed the game these two played, getting almost to the end before they finally give into their desires. AND IT IS AMAZING! Andrew is like Clark Kent…all business but when that suit comes off, HOT DAMN!!

Walk of Shame will be one of those books I go back to over and over because it is “perfectly ridiculous”!!

What’s this? Another raving review for a Lauren Layne book? YES! I was hooked to the premise of Walk of Shame even before I read the book. The synopsis immediately caught my attention with the description of what looked like a grumpy hero and perky girl falling in love with a NYC setting. I mean what’s not to love about that premise? As expected, Walk of Shame was another flirty and fun rom-com from Lauren Layne. It’s a book that’s delightful from start to finish and will have you smiling, laughing and swooning – honestly, could there be a better combo?

I was initially a bit worried that I’d find Georgie to be annoying, but I actually found her to be very lovable. She was a very happy-go-lucky character, and she has definitely got an effervescent personality, but never in an irritating way. She’s the kind of girl who brings sunshine to a gloomy room as cheesy as that sounds. I thought Georgie was funny, kind, loving and despite being a rich man’s daughter, very humble. Now imagine the complete opposite of that, and you’ll get her love interest, Andrew. This guy was a work-a-holic, a gym rat, and a grade-a grump, who fortunately has got a hidden sweet side to him, that he only allows his lady love to see. Of course that meant that I found him to be completely irresistible! Andrew was an introvert, who didn’t really allow his more sensitive (and secretly alpha) side to come to surface, until he became entangled with Georgie. I loved watching him peel off those rough layers and getting to know the great guy who resided within all those rough edges.

Georgie and Andrew together were just pure unadulterated fun. The banter, the bickering, and the longing between these two kept me hooked to Walk of Shame from the beginning. They had a great dynamic between them, and I loved watching Georgie get under Andrew’s skin. At first glance, they seem like a couple who would be completely at odds with each other, but as the story progressed, you see just how in actuality they fit like a lock and a key. They brought out the best in each other, and that made them a spectacular couple. Walk of Shame also had one of my favorite romance tropes ever: when a couple falls sick and they take care of each other, subsequently falling in love! Lauren Layne also always writes her couples with a hefty dose of chemistry, and the chemistry between Georgie and Andrew was red-hot. Under all that squabbling was a mountain of sexual tension that never fizzled out. Tell me that doesn’t sound ridiculously entertaining? And you know what was even better? How the kissing scenes were as steamy as the sex scenes! Walk of Shame book featured some of my favorite kissing scenes and you bet, I’ve re-read those scenes a million times already.

I love a lot of books by Lauren Layne, but Walk of Shame just shot up to the top of my favorites. I loved every moment that I spent with Georgie and Andrew and I have no doubt fans of Lauren Layne and fans of contemporary romance will love these two just as much as I did. If you’re in the mood for a sexy, frenemies-to-more type of book with plenty of entertaining dialogue, look no further – Walk of Shame is the book for you.

The romance comedy queen has done it again! Lauren Layne brings you an ‘opposites attract’ and ‘frenemies to lovers’ romcom featuring a carefree socialite and a jaded divorce attorney in Walk of Shame. Think Enchanted with a mix of Sex and the City—minus the evil queen, sidekick rodents and singing birds bit, because, really. This book made my cheeks hurt from all the grinning because this book would have to be her cutest to date!

Georgiana ‘Georgie’ Watkins might be a rich party girl, but she isn’t your stereotypical socialite. She’s an absolute sweetheart to everyone she knows. All except for her neighbor, Andrew Mulroney, the stoic divorce attorney who lives his life in a routine, which goes against every spontaneous bone in Georgie’s body. Add in the fact that he refuses to call her by her nickname and that he looks at her like she’s the most ‘ridiculous’ thing on the face of the earth.

I can’t express how much I love Georgie and Andrew. So far, these two are my favorite Lauren Layne couple yet. Although Georgie’s lifestyle differed from the typical heroine, she’s not hard to relate to. Despite being an heiress, this cupcake is definitely no spoiled brat. She’s charming, warm-hearted and absolutely lovable, and no doubt you’d surely want to be her best friend. Warming up to Andrew’s character wasn’t easy. He’s a tough nut to crack, and clearly, he's got issues. Think a more cynic version of Patrick Dempsey's character in Enchanted. He's aloof, stoic and adorably awkward when it comes to dealing with Georgie, which often leads to their daily 5 am sarcastic jabs and teasing at the lobby.

Lauren Layne's writing keeps getting better with every book she releases. I adored the romance in this novel, particularly the slow burn between Georgie and Andrew, coupled with hilarious witty banter. I can't stress how much I enjoy Layne's style when it comes to writing slow burn romances and Walk of Shame definitely takes the cake. The only problem I had with this novel was how their problems were resolved nearly a little too quickly.

If you're looking for a quick romcom read, Walk of Shame is the right novel for you. It's sexy, hilarious and has the right amount of angst—everything I look for in a romance! Perfect for fans of Julie James, Jessica Lemmon, and Lauren Blakely!

I LOVE Lauren’s books, I’m always so excited when I get the chance to read and review them!

The Love Unexpectedly Series has been truly special too, gifting us with sexy, strong and captivating gentleman who had starred in my dreams ever since.

In this book we meet Georgianna and Andrew, they are complete opposite and even at the beginning when we had no idea what would happen we can feel the tension .
He finds her irritating, she is loud, sparkly and a distraction for his perfect scheduled life, and he can’t seem to get enough of her.

Georgie is sweet, bubbly and loves to stay up all night dancing and partying; and since she can afford it there’s nothing stopping her, until him.

Their battle starts as a bickering war but soon evolves into something else altogether.

Opposite attract takes a whole new meaning in this love story where the characters couldn’t be any more different and at the same time any more compatible.

Andrew was a different kind of alpha, he was awkward and he needed time to understand his feelings and learn what to do with those. He filters everything through his head and sometimes in love you just have to go with your heart. He needs to be strong and surrender himself to a game he has never played. And when he does, there's no stopping him, just WOW an uninhibited Andrew was just too hot to handle, beware!

Georgie is not used to getting so attached to people, she just haves fun and moves on, until she gets lost in Andrew's intense stare and she is having trouble understanding his deal.

A beautiful love story, the characters had an insane attraction and it could be felt through the pages.

Georgianna Watkins needs to be a real life friend of everyone is this world! I adore this character! Lauren Layne really hit this story out of the park. Walk of Shame is such a refreshing twist to a romance story! I was just in love instantly.
Georgianna Watkins is a socialite in New York City. She is just hilarious! I have to say that I am usually more of a fan of the male characters but Georgianna Watkins really is one of my all time favorites now. She is funny, sassy, friendly, fun and just down to Earth. You will route for her the entire time you are reading Walk of Shame.
Now don’t let me forget that heartthrob divorce attorney, Andrew Mulroney. Yum Yum Yum ladies! Smart, successful, and reserved- you know he needs a feisty lady in his life. If there was ever a couple, you cannot see together but want them to be- Georgie and Andrew are that couple. The banter between them is hysterical and completely what you would do with a crush. They are simply just hot with a capital H.
However, besides being funny to read, this story is romantic and swoon-worthy all at once. It was really such an enjoyable read that I would recommend it to anyone who was sick of the same old romantic novels where the girl needs to be rescued or a tragedy strikes for the characters to finally declare their love for one another. I mean really it needs to be in the purse of any woman I know. Walk of Shame is by far on my top lists for that beach vacation!

YEPPERS!! This was an entertaining read. I devoured in one sitting, unable to put it down. It checked many of my favorite boxes: A frenemies romance. Characters who held my interest from page one. Witty and bantering conversation. Lighthearted and humorous.

I thoroughly enjoyed how this "opposites attract" romance played out.

Georgie Watkins has a chatty, upbeat, stay out all night with friends persona which collides with the uptight, logical, always on a rigid schedule temperament of Andrew Mulroney. Night and day personalities, ring a bell? Smile vs. Scowl, come to mind? They have been butting heads since the day they met when both were moving into the same Manhattan apartment building and argued over who gets to use the utility elevator that was double-booked. Georgie is one of New York's most quintessential socialites and Andrew is New York's most famous divorce attorney.

Georgie has her heart set on a 'fairy-tale ending,' while Andrew spends his days dividing the assets of 'fairy-tales that have ended. Their romance is a bumpy but fun ride.

I always look forward to a Lauren Layne read and if you are already a fan of hers, I think you will enjoy this one. If you haven't had the pleasure of reading a Ms. Layne book, but love a romance which is humorous and witty, give this one a try.

Seriously, where have I been that I’ve never read a Lauren Layne book before now?! I have never read one of her books before but the blurb sounded so cute when I saw the blog tour sign up that I just had to request a copy. I’m soooo happy I was chosen to receive one because I loved this book so much!

It really hooked me from page 1 and the dialog was so snappy and fun that I didn’t want to stop reading. I loved both Andrew and Georgiana from the start and their on-going banter with each other kept a smile on my face the entire time I was reading. If all Lauren Layne books are like this then I have definitely found a new favorite author. If you are looking for the perfect romance that will bring a smile to your face then definitely pick up Walk of Shame! You definitely won’t regret it.

Walk of Shame follows pampered heiress, Georgianna Watkins, and celebrity divorce attorney, Andrew Mulroney. Georgianna and Andrew moved to the same apartment complex on the same exact date. They have been bumping heads since.

Lauren Layne have once again reminded me why she is an auto-read/auto-buy author for me. Her portrayal the enemies-to-lovers’ trope is like none other. She is the queen of this trope. And I can guarantee I will love anything she writes on it.

From the start you can tell there is more to Georgie than partying all night till dawn, making weekly salon appointments, and organizing charity events. Georgie goes out of her way to get donuts for the doorman, and she shows genuine interest in his personal life. While Andy is a no nonsense, serious guy. He doesn’t have time to chit chat the way Georgie does.

Right from their first meeting in the book, we could feel the tension and chemistry. Their banter, wit, and sass is all kinds of perfection. I could not have asked for witter banter. Their regular 5 am meetings are something Georgie looks forward to every morning. Georgie is clearly affected with Andy’s perception of her and Andy is enamoured by her vivacious personality.

They somehow find themselves in a romantic relationship and find they do fit in each other’s lives. Neither have experienced the type love and romance they do with each other. It’s glorious watching them understand and adapt to it. I truly adored the realistic and subtle approach Layne used. I could not have fallen more in love with this. Thank you so much for this beautiful piece of work.

This book was absolutely "Perfectly Ridiculous" and made me smile constantly while my heart beat like a giddy school girl. I'm gushing absolutely gushing.

Andrew and Georgiana I absolutely loved them, complete opposites. Andrew, the smart attorney always serious and Georgiana the bubbly socialite. Their banter back and forth was so entertaining.

Andrew was endearing even though he was definitely guarded, a little bit stiff. The way he would say her name made me have goosebumps every single time.

Georgiana she was a little firecracker, always with the verbal sparring always wanting to get under his skin and get a reaction out of him.

This was a slow burn and these two were so stubborn at times, they made me chuckle though dancing around each other which while at times was frustrating I knew that it would be soooo good when they finally got together and that first kiss was just AHHHHHHHH SOOO GOOD. I pumped my fists into the air.

So many moments between these two that had me smiling so much I thought my face was going to permanently freeze in a state of giddiness. I loved absolutely everything about this book. It had everything that I look for in a romance from laughter, to swoony moments mixed in with a little bi of angst that will have your heart pound.

I would like to thank NetGalley, Random House Publishing Group- Loveswept and Lauren Layne for the ARC (Advanced Reading Copy) of "Walk of Shame" by Lauren Layne for my honest review. The genre of this novel is Romance.
The author describes her characters as complex, complicated, insecure and emotional.
The two main characters, Georgie, and Andrew meet while moving into an exclusive upper class apartment complex, at the same time. Both are fighting for the elevator. Georgie is a party going socialite, who usually comes home about 5:00 AM. Andrew is a Divorce Attorney and workaholic who is first leaving for the day at 5:00AM. Georgie comes in with donuts for the doorman, and takes one as she heads upstairs. Andrew is drinking his protein drink and goes to the gym before he leaves for work. Georgie is a romantic and believes in fairytale endings. Andrew deals with realism all day long, and thinks that Georgie is ridiculous. Both spar with other at 5:00AM in the morning when they see each other. As a matter of fact, outgoing and friendly Georgie seems totally ridiculous to Andrew. Is it true that opposites can be attracted to one another or kill each other?
I thought that this was a charming, delightful, sexy read and would recommend it.

Hmmm... I had to take a step back after finishing up Walk of Shame, the fourth and latest in Lauren Layne's Love, Unexpectedly series. There were definitely parts of the book that I loved. The humor was almost always on-point and there was no denying the chemistry between the main characters, thirty-year-old sought-after divorce lawyer Andrew Mulroney and twenty-six-year-old heiress Georgiana Watkins. From the bickering to the banter, they're an easy couple to like and they were truly rather entertaining. However, there was a disconnect with them at times. Maybe it was because it took as long as it did for these two to get together. Maybe it was because Georgie really was ridiculous and didn't want to move beyond the box so many others had pegged her in--that of pampered society princess who partied too much and worried about what to do with her life other than go after that Disney-like happily-ever-after too little. Maybe because between the two of them, it was only Andrew who evolved to a certain degree. There was romance; there was comedy, but something was just...missing. That doesn't mean, however, that I didn't enjoy Walk of Shame. I did. It simply wasn't my favorite Lauren Layne read. So, four stars it is. ♥

Upon reading the books from the Oxford Series, I was looking forward to the new book from this author. This did not disappoint. If you are looking for a fun, witty, clever read, this is your story.

Georgie and Andrew get off on the wrong foot beginning with their first meeting. The day each moved into their apartments in the same building. Andrew felt Georgie was spoiled and entitled while Georgie thought he was uptight (and other choice words). She decides to "poke-the-bear" and meet him at 5:00am each morning, where this party girl is coming home and Andrew, the serious divorce attorney, is leaving. There is clearly a bantor that the two exchange that starts off as sarcastic and rude. But each give as much as they get which helps with the flow of the story.

Their paths cross again in the story and they soon learn that they are attracted to one another. However, both come from different worlds and each wonder if they are enough for the other. This is what I love about this author. She takes her time to unfold a beautiful relationship and gives a voice to the main characters to where you are rooting for them. I am looking forward to the next installment.

WALK OF SHAME is just the right blend of everything I love in a book. It is a delightfully funny, feel good story. It has great writing, witty dialogue, memorable characters and the story immediately drew me and I never wanted it to end.
Georgiana (Georgie) Wilkins is a socialite. She doesn't work, she just enjoys life. She stays out all night and sleeps during the day. She spends her time shopping, having her hair done, working on charity events and going to clubs with her friends. She is fun loving, has a bubbly personality and she gets along with everyone. She is the exact opposite of Andrew Mulroney. Andrew is an uptight attorney who lives in the same upscale building as Georgie. Every morning they pass each other as Andrew is leaving for work and Georgie is coming home from another fun night on the town.
Andrew is the most famous divorce attorney in the city. He is also a workaholic and follows a rigorous schedule. He sneers at Georgie's frivolous lifestyle and Georgie loves to say things to get under Andrew’s skin. It is highly entertaining as they lobby snarky remarks as they pass each other every morning.
Andrew thinks Georgie is self indulgent and useless yet, he can't help but notice how attractive she is. There is a lot of sexual tension and verbal foreplay between Andrew and Georgie and they are confused by what they are feeling. Andrew is super smart, formal and hard working. He is the total opposite of Georgie’s friendly, relaxed demeanor. Andrew has never met anyone like Georgie and isn't sure how to act around her or what to say. Even though they are the exact opposite, they are good for each other. Georgie helps Andrew loosen up and Andrew helps Georgie take life more seriously. It is fun watching these two together and I also enjoyed the entertaining secondary characters. Perfection!

Thanks to the author for providing a copy of this book vIa Cocktails and Books and Netgalley. The opinions expressed are my own.

"Walk of Shame" by Lauren Layne. Can you say LOVE? Ms. Layne has hit a homerun with this one! I adored the entire story - the characters, the plot, the writing. It's a feel good story that had me smiling and chuckling throughout. Georgie and Andrew - could the two be any more different? Yet, together they are smokin' hot! I adored Georgie. She's fun and friendly, yet there's a vulnerble side to her that is what I truly liked. Andrew, he's hot and sexy and underneath the scowl, he's a warm blooded male that would make any woman swoon. And on top of that, deep down, he's a truly good guy. The story line is delightful! It's fun and witty and light, yet there's the touch of deep down love that everyone yearns for, even if they don't realize it. Ms. Layne's writing style is easy to follow and flows effortlessly. The story is told from both POV's which is always fun for me. Having read most of Ms. Layne's previous works and having had enjoyed them too, I was really hopeful for this one. And, I can honestly say, Ms. Layne did not disappoint. Honestly, this is my favorite of her works so far and I cannot wait for more. (received ARC from NetGalley for honest review)

I received an ARC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review, so here goes:

This book is ridiculously adorable. I actually hesitated about reading this one because I thought I wouldn't like the socialite heroine. I figured she'd be a snotty princess that the hero had to work hard to loosen up. Holy crap was I wrong! The description doesn't even begin to do this rom-com justice. Georgie is one of the most delightful heroines I've come across. She's witty, fun, and so full of life that I seriously wanted to be her (or at least be her friend). Andrew was the pretentious one, and it was a blast watching her get under his skin and knock down those stodgy walls. I think I smiled the entire time I read this (even when I was simultaneously wincing), and I haven't stopped since. I swear that every book I read by Ms. Layne is better than the last. She does something a little different this time with the dual POV, and although it struck me as odd at first, it actually works. And the logic behind it, when you consider Andrew's character, makes total sense. This gal has ridiculous talent.

Georgianna is determined to get under his skin and see if he's so uptight as he seems.
A kiss gets caught on camera and here they are on the gossip column. Georgianna dubs them frenemies. Andrew isn't so sure he likes that title. He changes things. He knows the happiness he feels with Georgianna is limited because he has a secret that will break her heart.

Just so good. The book flows so fast. I was sad when the end came and I NEEDED MORE. I hate for great stories like these to come to an end. I need to know how their lives ended up years to come. It's just that good!

Georgie seemed to be a spoiled socialite trust fund baby. Georgie seems to be flighty, and shallow who sleeps all day and parties all night. . When two polar opposites meet, it can usually lead to one thing, true love. That is the case for Georgianna (Georgie) Watkins and Andrew Mulroney, Esq. Sharing an apartment building has its privileges, especially when the pair meet up every morning at 5:00 at the Concierge Desk, Georgie, just coming home from a night out, and Andrew, just getting up to go out and start his day.
Their verbal sparring is hilarious- uptight Andrew just doesn't get flighty, socialite Georgie.
When their verbal sparring turns personal and insulting, their morning meet-ups may end. Unless Andrew can salvage what is slowly becoming the highlight of his day- seeing and sparring with Georgie.
I really enjoyed this easy, breezy, fun book. You root for both Georgie and Andrew to be together, and you see the conflict coming from a mile away, and you hope that the impact won't be as bad as you think. My only complaint was that the ending felt very rushed, and therefore slightly unbelievable. Other than that, I know that one clicking anything by Lauren Layne will not disappoint!

Lauren Layne excels at writing flirty dialogue that vibrates with sexual tension; therefore, it’s no surprise I’m recommending Walk of Shame. Andrew and Georgiana live in the same New York high rise and have opposing lifestyles and personalities – he’s an uptight, cynical, workaholic divorce attorney, and she is a sunny, carefree, wealthy socialite. They meet each day at the crack of dawn when passing each other in the lobby; he’s scowling and wielding a protein shake on his way to the office while she’s flirting and toting a box of donuts after just getting home from a night on the town.

Sparks fly and oral flirtation ensures. Georgiana serves up pointed jabs designed to goad Andrew into loosening up, and he valiantly attempts to hold his own in their daily verbal battle, but, ultimately, he’s no match against Georgiana’s charisma and vibrancy. These opposites rub each other in all the right ways, and that friction ignites a fire that could burn down their building. Walk of Shame is fun, charming and thoroughly entertaining, and I promise there’s nothing sexier than seeing Andrew lose control under the whirlwind of Georgiana’s wit.

Ahh...Where to begin? This was a fabulous love story. It was funny, sweet, and sexy. Georgie is a socialite who parties all night and fundraises during the day. Andrew is an uptight divorce attorney. They met each other when they moved into their apartments on the same day. They didn't like each other and thus began a back and forth bickering every morning as Georgie came home from partying and Andrew starts his work day. He finds her cheery, animated attitude ridiculous. She finds him too stuffy. Their relationship builds and builds and it's just the sweetest thing to witness. I smiled almost the entire time reading this. It just made me happy. A truly wonderful romance. I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy.

I want to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I really love the fact that the author took the time to tell the story. She did not rush it, which actually seems to happen a lot in the Romance novels. I have read a lot of Romance novels that will start out with a great story and then rush through to the end so fast it loses the potential, it started with, to be a wonderful book. Lauren takes to time to lay out the plot and introduce the characters and taking that potential and turning it into a Great book. The story was well thought out. You may think of it as a princess and the frog story. I love the chemistry between the main characters Andrew and Georgiana. The sexual chemistry is amazing. I found the book not only romantic but fun. There were several moments of laugh out loud fun and moments of sadness. I like the mix of characters and it was easy to imagine being there or maybe watching it on the big screen. The book was captivating. I am definitely interested in reading other works by this author. Happy Reading!!! #FANGIRL

The battle between the sexes has never been so much fun as Lauren Layne's WALK OF SHAME. The story, written in first person, is full of witty banter and lots of sass as party girl Georgie spars with the stuffy and jaded divorce lawyer Andrew each morning.
They live in the same building. She loves to get under his skin and he thinks that she is ridiculous. I liked Georgie right away. She is wealthy and privileged, but she is no mean girl. She is funny and sweet and enjoys her life, but she is at the time of life where things are starting to feel shallow and a romantic life seems out of her grasp. Andrew has preconceived notions of Georgie and sometimes the two sound like they are in middle school.
Things between the two begin to change and the sparks begin to fly. The layers of both characters are peeled back and you see more what's truly inside the two characters. And I loved watching Andrew come alive. The breezy pace and sexy sizzle are what makes Ms Layne a favorite of readers who like sophisticated urban romance. Ridiculous!

All hail the queen of the Manhatten romance...Ms. Lauren Layne! Charming, beautiful, and perfectly ridiculous socialite, Georgie vs. Stodgy, regimented, but oh so sexy high-powered attorney, Andrew. Meet your new favorite sexy frenemy romance, with an ode to the movie, Enchanted. However, as I pictured Georgie and Andrew, I totally envision Isla Fisher and Hugh Dancy.

Just loved Georgie...she was warm and lovely and unapologetic for being who she was and I love the author for that. So many writers would make the story about making the "socialite" a more serious human or some nonsense like that...but we got to know and love Georgie throughout the story and she never changed who she was. She was perfectly ridiculous in the most fabulous way and she made Andrew a better man. The story was super sexy and I couldn't wait for these two to finally come together. They have definitely proven that opposites do indeed attract.

I received a copy of this title from the author in exchange for an honest review
