Can we say....Come to Mama Vinny Boy! Vincent Moretti is just HOTT, with two "T's" and a capital! Jill Henley is one lucky mama! When it comes to romantic comedy with a side of spice, Lauren Layne is top dog around these parts and the "Spice" is coming with full force! She has been surprising me...oh my...and I am so glad she got super sexy with Vin and Jill!

The side of suspense keeps the story moving at a perfect pace, and the sexual tension is as thick as the New York humidity!

The whole series is a must read if you enjoy laugh out loud, big boisterous families and smokin hot NYPD Royalty!!

Not to be missed!!

Ever since starting this great series, I could not wait to finally get to read Vin and Jill's story. It did not disappoint!
Vincent Moretti - gruff cop on the outside, big lovable mush on the inside, who is loyal to a fault. Has been in love with his partner Jill forever, but too close and too blind to see what's right in front of him -- until she no longer is. And when she comes back to town engaged, he steps back thinking that's what's best for her, that he missed his chance. I loved watching them watch each other and skirt around the elephant in the room until they just couldn't hold back any longer. So much angst! I loved every second of it -- I just wish we got to see a little more of them actually together, but something tells me I might get my wish and that we haven't seen the last of the Moretti clan!

I have always enjoyed Lauren Layne’s writing style, but she continues to exceed my expectations. Her writing is maturing, as are her story arcs and character development.

CUFF ME is is the third and final installment of Lauren Layne’s “New York’s Finest” series. We follow the relationship between Vincent and his long-term partner, Jill. Jill returns from a 3 month sabbatical with some major news, which changes their relationship forever.

This story had my heart in a vice from page one. Having an already established friendship between the main characters allowed for a level of reality atypical of the romance genre. Their chemistry was fantastic and the build up of tension was explosive.

CUFF ME is some of Layne’s best work yet. Keep ‘em coming, girl!

Give him a murder to solve and Vincent Moretti can narrow the suspect with easy and class, but the only thing he can’t figure out is his outgoing, sexy and funny partner Jill Henley. Everyone around him believes that he’s a shell of a man, but for this big guy he just doesn’t know how to show his emotions after so many years of keeping them in check with being the top NYPD’s homicide detective.

Jill Henley took leave off work for three months to help get her mother back on her feet leaving her partner, Vincent with a trainee detective, but now she’s finally coming home. As he arrives late at her surprise party he gets the worst news about his partner. She’s in engaged to a man, but what finally got him off his put and into action was when she told him that she’ll be moving to Chicago. Away from him. He has three months to cancel her weddding and make her be his.

As these two rush to solve a murder will Vincent be able to pull all the tops to get Jill or is he too late to realize his feelings?

In the beginning I didn’t quiet connect with the characters until later in the story where feelings and actions started to happen. I do however, really love Vincent’s character and being allowed to see his side of the story. You can tell that he has feelings for Jill, but because their partners he didn’t want to jeopardized what they have. Unfortunately out of all the skills he possesses as a detective he can’t seem to catch on the feelings his partner has for him.

Jill has a spring in her step and stays spunky, but what I really love about her character was that she was able to call Vincent on his attitude with easy and fierceness that makes me grin. Though she’s tired of waiting for Vincent and so she moves on with a man she met when helping her mother. I thought Jill was sensible, but getting ready to marry a man after three months seems ridiculous and her heart is certainly in conflict with mind. It’s logic to move on, but her heart wants nothing to do with logic.

Overall, I found this story interesting when I got further into the story. I really enjoyed the connection to family and the way Vincent went for Jill. Holding nothing back.

Not my favorite of the series. While I like the "Family" in this series, every brother, sister, parent and grandmother had to explain to Jill why Vincent couldn't open up. I see a lot of familial interference in their future and that is not a great place to start a relationship. After a 6 year partnership I would expect them to know each other better. I'm hoping the next book, (Elena's?) is better, this book kind of dragged along.

I liked both characters but the story was too slow. Why do authors think they need to wait till almost the end of the book for the them to get together? I like a more fast passed story that at least keeps you interested.

Off the three moretti series I have read thus far, steal me was my favorite. Cuff me was too blah for my reading pleasure. I didn't feel the spark between Jill and Vincent. Ironically there was more of a spark between Jill and Tom. Thank God for Nonna and Maria for their comedic act or this book would have bored me to tears.

LOVED Everything about "Cuff Me." Vincent and Jill's story was everything I wanted it to be and more. The chemistry was off the charts, the back-and-forth was real and raw, and Nonna was as on-point as she always is. Beyond perfect.

Vincent and Jill have been partners for the past 6 years, working very well together. They are both detectives in NYPD. She is bright and bubbly while he is serious and brooding, complete opposites. Jill is returning from Miami after 3 months of leave, and Vincent can't wait to see her.
And when he meets her, the floor gets moved from under him, Jill has come back from Miami engaged. And that stirs things up between them. The changes happening have got them both thinking if being just partners was enough or they want more ?
I absolutely loved Cuff Me. The story is entertaining with enough suspense to make it intriguing, but in no way does it take away from the romance. In fact the author has struck a superb balance between romance and their lives as detectives.
I loved the rapport between Vincent and Jill. It was sexy, witty and fun. And the Moretti family dynamics are like the icing on the cake. This is a heartwarming story and will leave you with a sweet smile.
This is my first book in the NYPDs finest series and I can't wait to read the others.
A highly recommended book.

Vincent Moretti is one tough, badass cop. Known for his gruff exterior as well as his drop-dead-sexy good looks, Vin is also one of the most eligible bachelors in town. But behind that badass façade is a gentleman with a big heart, if only he’d drop down the walls around it to let love in.

Vin’s guarded heart has frustrated his partner, Jill Henley, for years. After taking time off to take care of her mother, Jill’s given up hope that she and Vin could be more than just partners on the job, but partners in life too. So, once she meets Tom and thrives on their whirlwind romance, Jill is ready to take the next step toward her perfect future—marriage, the white picket fence, and children with her perfect man.

But is this perfect relationship really going to make Jill happy in the long run? Or will Vin’s meddling family help get Vin to really open up about his feelings toward Jill?

I. Loved. This. Book. Hands down, this is the best one in the series. Jill and Vin are both so damn proud. Vin just wants Jill to be happy, even if it’s not with him. Jill doesn’t know exactly what she wants—but she’s scared to make a wrong decision. The Moretti’s are a gregarious, loving, crazy, meddling family where each one of them knows how to get under the skin of the others—just like my family. But I digress. There’s so much love to go around with this group, but holy hell, some of them need some lessons how to show it! I loved catching up with the rest of the family and I’m crossing my fingers Lauren Layne writes Marco’s story.

I LOVE Lauren Layne stories. I have read every book she has ever wrote and I love them all. She is definitely on my autobuy list and this book which can stand alone is third in the series. We have seen glances of Vince and Jill in the first two books and now it was their turn and I was so excited to check them out.
This book was a lot of fun because the author really tortures Vince and it totally works. Vince is a very grumpy, antisocial and quiet character. He is a cop and it totally worked for him. He and Jill have been partners for 6 years and she has quietly lusted for him and he has been totally clueless. That all changes when she goes to visit her mom for 3 months. During that time Vince never calls, never writes, never texts and so she meets this great guy who on her last night in town proposes and she accepts. Vince has missed her so much, so much that he couldn’t call or text or email and he realises he wants more with her. Talk about bad timing. And that’s where the author had fun with torturing Vince.

For the first 50% of the book Jill and Tom are engaged and he is a really great guy. She never cheats while she is engaged and I really liked seeing her and Vince’s integrity while in a difficult situation. There is a big mystery in this story and whodunit and it was a really good one. I never saw who was killer until the end. I loved how Vince came and saved the day.
This book is a fast read and was a lot of fun. Vince and Jill are a very cute couple together and I loved seeing the whole Moretti family and how they interact with Jill and Vince. I am looking forward to Book 4.

Homicide detective Jill Henley has come to the realization that nothing will ever happen with her and her partner Detective Vincent Moretti.

But what happens when Vin finds out there is a man in Jill's life and feelings for her start to interfere with their investigation of a high profile murder?

Lauren Layne is a first time author for me. She has a solid writing style. I liked Vincent but he was definitely not an alpha male like I would have thought a homicide detective would be. For some reason he was scared of his feelings for Jill and for the most part refused to acknowledge he had feelings. I think the author summed it up best when she said he was afraid to fall in love because he was afraid to feel.

Jill drove me crazy at times because she knew she had feelings for Vin but was afraid to put those feelings out there. She played cat/mouse with their emotions and with Tom's also. It just became a never ending cycle with Vin and Jill. I kept thinking each scene someone would come clean about their feelings for each other.

I think there was more suspense in this book than romance. I liked the storyline of the deceased Hollywood actress. That kept the book interesting and not dragging with the emotional upheaval from the hero and heroine.

The Moretti family was colorful and I would like to read a couple of the brother's stories and see what will happen with sister Elena. I wasn't crazy about this read but I am interested enough to check out more of this series.
