Never Touch a Monster

Bright and colorful, love the touch and feel patches! The story line sucks though. I am going to have to make up my own story to go along with it so my boy can enjoy the book. The premises of the book is that if you see monsters and they are friendly keep stay away because they will eat you. But then it invites you to touch their different patches by being a touch and feel book. Very confusing for a little one and id hate for a kid who is being abused to read a book like this. Horrible message for little ones.

This book is my son's favorite! The textures are so different than anything else I've been able to find. The illustrations are brightly colored and hold my 7 month old's attention well. The story and rhyme are cute as well. I was so happy with this purchase that I also purchased "Never touch a Dinosaur". I was not as impressed with that title, however. Though there was more variation among the textures, the rhymes were forced.

I would highly recommend "Never touch a Monster" for kids ages 4 months-3 years. It also has withstood his teething with only minor damage to the cover thus far. I haven't had any issues with the textures.

We purchased this book along with the Dinosaur and Dragon similar books for my 10 month old daughter who's just getting into different textures, and she absolutely loves it. She loves the texture of not only the big monster on the cover, but also the little monster on the top left corner. The pages have a great rhyme to them which makes them fun for parents to read too. I cannot wait to enjoy these books in the years to come with my daughter.

I purchased this book and the dinosaur one through Scholastics but I'm on the store to buy the dragon book. My 10 mos old boys love this book! They touch every page and stay engaged for the whole story. I like that the pages have lots of "touch and feel" areas and a variety of textures. It's also nice that there are lots of words with good use of repetition and rhyme. I highly recommend buying this book. It's held up well with two teething babies and is often crammed in a diaper bag.

Wonderful pre-reading book. My granddaughter LOVES the many different textures of the monsters. Easy to read rhymes. Very sturdy and easy to clean, if necessary. Highly recommend. It keeps toddlers' attention start to finish, and it is one of the books they go for every time they visit. Highly recommended. Quickly shipped and well packed.

My Granddaughter has Autism and this book is amazing for her. It has different rubberized textures on each page that she loves to feel. The illustrations are colorful and fun and will keep any toddler engaged. The rhyming story written in varied fonts and styles are funny and keep her attention. The book is well made to hold up to toddler abuse, with heavy cardboard pages. I highly recommend this book! Also recommend the entire series!
