This stories uplift me. my son lives in Heaven and I am so anxious to see him again, but before I get there, I want to know all about Heaven and what he is doing and what goes on. These and many other stories give me a glimpse of a place I long to be!

This book was recommended to me by a godly Christian friend. I can't put to words the amazing revelations about God's protections that He has already provided. We just need to get into His word and take Him at His word in our prayer declarations!

I share time each week with two dear friends. We help each other along this journey called 'life'. We've read this book together and it has so many insightful stories of how God works in one's life. It challenged me to look back on my own life and see where God has been my refuge and fortress over and over.

A "must-read" book for Christians who want an easy-to-understand review of God's promises to protect those who call upon Him. You can read many personal testimonies of people who took God at His word. Mrs. Peggy Joyce Ruth provides definitions of words and phrases and gives examples to describe the various ways God shields and protects His children.

This is an absolutely incredible book. It's something very special. I'm not one to say, "It'll change your life!" but if I were, I would say this book will change your life! Everyone I talk to who reads it is deeply impacted. I have given away more than 10 copies. It's extraordinary. Be sure and look for other editions as well - there's a military edition, one for mother's, youth, etc.

This book will inspire you to meditate on Gods word and give it life in your own spirit. I have now memorized Psalm 91 and speak it out daily! I used my own cartoon drawing to help me memorize the last few verses....even with my poor memory I managed to do it! The Holy Spirit will draw near to those who walk in a His word and His ways daily. FYI: Her testimony is also on youtube.

I had never really heard anything about Psalm 91. I decided to order it because of the reviews I read. I love it. I love the book, the psalm and the testimonials. I'm now trying to memorize the psalm. I worry all the time about the safety of my family. This book has helped me tremendously to totally trust in God.

I was dissapointed when I got the book, because it had a sticker on it that said"Not for individual sale, this book is a free gift from *********" an organization that was giving out the book for free.
The book itself was very good. I had bought a used copy. It waas in excellent condition, but should not have been sold to me if it were given in bulk as a gift to others from *********.

I was very disappointed in this book. The miraculous stories were very contrived, so many easily attributed to coincidence and retrospect and not divine intervention. It wasn't that well written, either, and the endorsements included Andrew Womack. What bothered me most was that there are much, much better handlings of this Psalm absolutely free on the Internet. There is actually a beautiful dedicated web site with much better, more believeable anecdotes than these.

This was an excellent book. The writing was down to earth and easy to follow. There is much to digest and to take in. I'm sure it could be read in an evening but then you would miss much of the lesson. Mrs. Ruth takes each verse of Psalm 91 and shows how it applies to everyone's life everyday rather than just military families. The true stories at the end are a joy to read and expand upon the reader's understanding of certain passages as well. The main message is that Psalm 91 is a covenant from God to protect those who love Him, know Him, and spend time with Him.

I'll admit to wondering if it would become tiresome to read so much about one Psalm, but Ruth's dissection of Psalm 91 isn't at all tedious; in fact, I found it insightful and even inspired! The second half of the book includes real-life stories of men and women who've relied upon the promises written in Psalm 91: promises to which Ruth refers as "God's Covenant of Protection," or "God's Shield of Protection." (If you love the "His Mysterious Ways" stories in Guideposts, you'll love the second half of Psalm 91!)
Ruth reminds us: Jesus said in Luke 24:44 that all things concerning Him in the Psalms must be fulfilled (109). I'll admit: I haven't always taken the Psalms seriously enough. Ruth points out so many valuable truths from Psalm 91, in particular. For example, she focuses in on the words "I will say" at the beginning of Verse 2 and the importance of speaking God's Word aloud (11). In writing about chickens in her yard, she provides a powerful visual of the sheltering wing of the Lord (26). In Chapters 6-9, she explains carefully how Psalm 91:5-6 refer to constant protection from every imaginable threat, and I could go on and on.
But I think my favorite words in Psalm 91 are these:
My husband believes that too few Christians ever use their authority. Too often they pray when they should be taking authority! For the most part, Jesus prayed at night and took authority all day. It is not the time to start praying when we encounter the enemy; we need to be already prayed up by then. When we encounter the enemy, it is the time we need to speak forth the authority we have in the name of Jesus (72).
This concept of taking authority in Jesus's name really excites me! How about you?
I can't encourage you enough to give Psalm 91 a whirl. Ruth's heart is with our military and those in harm's way; if you're praying for someone in danger, Psalm 91 is a must-read. But I just can't think of anyone who wouldn't benefit from reading it.
