Ghost has always looked out for Jessie, that is what big brothers do (even step-brothers) do for their sisters. When Ghost and Jessie first met she was just eight years old and he could tell even then that she idolized him as a knight in shining armor. Then things changed and Jessie started growing up and they both started having feelings that step siblings shouldn’t be having for each other and Ghost knew it was time to move out and get away from temptation.

Now years later Ghost is surprised to see the one person he would never have expected to see, and in Sturgis even. When Ghost finds Jessie running from a rival biker gang he immediately steps into action to save her. When it comes out that she overheard valuable information about the rival club wanting to take his club down Ghost vows to protect her. What he didn’t realize was he would need someone to protect his heart from Jessie. He has never forgotten his beautiful ex-step-sister and time has only seemed to make his feelings for her stronger.

Jessie has loved Ghost since the first time she met him. She was crushed and heart broken when he packed up and moved out without saying goodbye. They have spoken over the phone a couple times throughout the years but when she finds herself in trouble she heads to Sturgis bike week to find Ghost. Jessie finds herself in more trouble along the way and by the time she finds Ghost she is in deep. Ghost and his club are the only ones who can help save her but she is afraid she is going to lose her heart in the process.

The chemistry between these two is clear from the beginning and even though Ghost tries his best to fight his attraction he finds himself giving in only to pull himself back after feeling like they are doing something wrong. Ghost has some turmoil over the fact that they were once step siblings even though Jessie and everyone else have no problems with this. When fear for Jessie finally pushes him to take the plunge the feelings and love between these two is absolutely beautiful.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good MC romance. I received an eARC of this book compliments of the publisher in exchange for my honest review and opinion. All ratings and opinions stated are my own.

Ghost was very surprised to get a call from Jessie after all this time. Joe a truck driver agreed to take her as close as he can to get to Sturgis. The Evil Dead MC owned 44 acres between Sturgis and Deadwood, they have a national meeting every year at Sturgis during Bike week. Ghost was very surprised when he sees someone who comes into the bar that looks very familiar to him. When he finds out that it's his step sister Jessie. He hasn't seen Jessie in seven years. She tells him what she knows, Ghost and Jessie were holed up in a shed to stay protected from the rain and The Death Heads.
Ghost "Billy", he is part of the Evil Dead MC. He is very protective and Loyal. He has his demons. Jessie is Ghost's step sister, she lost herself after her brother died. She heard something that she shouldn't have. She is being hunted by the Death Heads. Shades is the VP of Evil Dead, Ghost's friend. He has a fiance Skylar. Skylar is Shades fiance, she becomes really good friends with Jessie. Butcher is the President of the Evil Dead MC Chapter in Birmingham.
This is the fifth book in the Evil Dead MC Series. This is my first book by Nicole James and it most definitely will not be my last. I loved this book, its very well written and the characters are very well developed. I couldn't put this book down. I felt very connected to the characters.

Ghost and Jessie are step siblings and when her bother gets killed in combat, Ghost promises to keep her safe. When he spots her in a bar in Sturgis, he knows something is wrong. He gets her to safety only to learn that she is in trouble with a rival MC. She over heard a conversation that has out her in real danger. She has loved Ghost for as long as she can remember and deep down he loves her too. When he left so long ago, he thought he was going he right thing. The story continues with a lot of heated banter between these two characters and the thrill of keeping her safe from he danger. They finally both come clean with the truth and the trust is immediately broken. They have to work to gain that back but eventually they see reason. When Ghost finally eliminates the threat to Jessie the sparks fly and we see a future unfold that is delightful to read about.

I love this series. Danger, fights, love and hate.
MC books are the best and this one will not disappoint. ☠☠

This book is part of a series. I read the first one and liked it. I didn't follow through on the others. However, I am regretting that. If I go by this book, I missed out on some really good stories. the story of Ghost and Jessie began when they were kids. Jessie's mom and Ghosts's father were briefly married. Jessie looked up to Ghost and he was her protecter. She always had a crush on him. Things happen and tragedy strikes. They lose touch for years. Jessie gets in trouble over her head and Ghost comes to her rescue. The story is well written and will keep the reader entertained until the end. The characters are well developed and fun to read about. Jessie is no wimp. She hold her own against Ghost and other members of the MC. Ghost is club through and through. He is hard with a tender side for Jessie. There is plenty of action and romance throughout the book. We also get a nice epilogue which is also a great bonus. The little snippet for the next book has me anxious to read it. Now off to get the previous books in the series!

I loved this book, I love this whole series. Ghost is so hot, sexy, and protective and Jessie is sweet, fun, and needs saved. Ghost is her stepbrother but they have always had great chemistry, so bad that he moved out of the home they all shared just to get away from her before their relationship went in a direction it could not go at that time. I loved the drama in this story, how there was trouble with a rival MC, how it mentions other characters we have met in the past, lets us know what is going on with some of them. I enjoy how Jessie and Ghost get reacquainted, the different things they get into along the way back to his MC. There is a side story about Jessie's brother and Ghost's step-brother that is heartbreaking and becomes a issue between the two. There is drama, suspense, and plenty of angst in this book but not too much that I wanted to put the book down for a break, I could have read this book non stop if I didn't have to work. I can't wait until the next book comes out, I can't get enough of the Evil Dead men.

The story is interesting and unique with a few plot twists. Another great addition to the Evil Dead series. The only reason for 4 stars is that Ghost as a character didn't meet my expectations like I'd hoped. From the prior stories, I expected a snarky, funny guy with lots of wicked attitude. There are a couple of moments where that happens in this book but I didn't see that side of him shine here. The book is still great, but Ghost just didn't turn out to be who I expected. Cole remains my favorite.

After finishing Wolf I really wansn't sure if I wanted to finish this series. I just didn't feel any kind of a connection to Wolf. So I was extremely hesitant to read Ghost. After starting it I knew that I had absolutely nothing to be worried about. This book was extrodinary and unique and it reminded me of Nicole's first two books.

I can honestly lay blame at this book for making me late for work for not wanting to put it down. It was worth getting in trouble for once I started this book captured my imagination of who and what a true biker should be. I loved Ghost from the get go. I couldn't get over his alphaness.

This book not only contained a sexy as sin biker but also a hot stepbrother romance that will make you hot and wanting and yet oh so satisfied. I can't get over how amazing this book was and for all you Evil Dead fans you won't be disappointed.

What a great MC, stepbrother romance story.

I enjoy reading about this group of men their camaraderie, loyalty, brotherhood and solidarity.

The bantering between the men are hilarious as they enjoy giving each other crap especially about their women. Shade to Ghost if your woman aren't scaring the crap out of you, she's not the right one for you.

Jessie is a great pairing for Ghost she doesn't take anyone crap or his and demands respect from these bad ass bikers with her tude and sass.

This was always going to be a love story and you could feel the pull these two have with each other. There's always going to obstacles in relationship but that's how you find out how badly you want to be with each other. I have enjoyed the other books in this series and I definitely loved this one too.

Nicole James has the ability to write a MC book that is real. Not the glorified romantic MC typically written but real stories showing how some of MCs really are. Drugs, alcohol, illegal activities, and guns. Ghost is a perfect example. Are there hot alpha men in this book? Yes. There is also a very hot headed female. I felt the end was a bit rushed but still truly enjoyed the book.

The advantage of this series is that they can be read out of order and you can still understand what is going on. There are some crossover details from previous books but there isn't anything that will prevent you from appreciating and enjoying the book. I definitely will read the rest in the series and probably in order though to see the relationships as a whole.

Once again Nicole James has captured my attention with her Evil Dead Motorcyle Club to a point where it was like coming back to family. I loved seeing everybody again especially Shades, Skylar and Wolf. Ghost has tried for years to be something he`s not and it takes a special woman like Jesse to make him see he doesn`t have to run anymore. Nicole James did such a great job in making us see that even though you distance yourself love has a way of kicking you hard in the butt. Jesse is one kick ass girl that when it comes to making her do something she fights tooth and nail. This is one of those books that make you wish you had your own biker with you like Ghost. Can`t wait for Book 6 and what else is in store for this club.

Loved the story though some of the grammar was off. Like She lie back on the bed? She lay back on the bed. This was throughout though I was reading the Netgalley ARC. . Saw other little things like this just this one was constant, But other than that I loved the story line. I hated Ghost took so long to realize he wasn't bad for her considering her other choices in life were not so great. I think it just suddenly ended though considering the Death heads were after her. How long expired between their getting together and her getting pregnant that was confusing then we jumped five years. Also threw me when they went from calling Tommy by Tommy to Robert? I plan to read the other stories in the series also :)

So awesome! I've always loved Ghost's character and this is his story. When Ghost and the rest of the MC is in Sturgis for the annual rally, Ghost's past come crashing back into his life. He can't believe it but the woman before him was once his little stepsister. Jessi isn't his stepsister anymore and she definitely isn't a little girl. When he was 21 and Jessi was 16 he fought the attraction but now Jessi in his arms just feels right. First though he has to get her out of the trouble she seems to be in and figure out exactly what she's hiding.

I highly recommend this one. Each of these books can be read standalone but do yourself a favor and read them all.

Loved this fast paced but also romantic Biker story, it actually had lots of emotion, angst and passion. Considering I have not read any of the other books in this series Evil Dead MC, this story was a stand alone as such, was easily to follow with various characters that were around the club. It has made me want to go back and read all the other stories too as the characters were really individual and charismatic in their own rights even against a strong and dominant main man such as Ghost.

Ghost is your typical macho alpha biker guy and is hot, stubborn and head strong but also the romantic.

The twists and turns, games and action kept me turning those pages including who was playing who and double crossing each other - lots of great drama.

If you love reading a good stolid MC romance then this will not disappoint at all.

Nicole James is a damn good story teller. She is officially on my list of authors that I will immediately one click.

Ghost -- I loved him in Shades and I loved him all the more here. It was good to see him paired up with a woman that could laugh along with him but also keep him on his toes. One criticism I saw from other reviewers was that there was some push and pull to the relationship, but the story needed it. It was not nearly as much as Wolf, but Ghost and Jessie were step siblings and I would have found it a little uncomfortable if they had just fallen straight into bed. Overall, the story was good and I loved how involved the past characters were in the book. Now, I am patiently waiting for Blood's story!!!

A fantastic story! I really love the Evil Dead MC guys, and this time it's Ghost and Jessie's story. There's a great storyline, the chemistry with Ghost and Jessie is amazing, they are Hot, Hot, Hot together and the bantering going on between them all in the MC was hilarious at times.
Ghost and Jessie had spent time together when they were young when his dad had married her mom. He had also got a stepbrother with the deal which was great, but they thought of Jessie as being a brat as she followed them around. As they grew, Jessie is less of a brat and becomes more noticeable so Ghost decides it best leave.
But when she calls years later, Ghost has to make a big decision.

Nicole James' writing and her Evil Dead MC are quickly becoming a favourite.
I highly recommend it and I'm eagerly awaiting for the next book in the series. 5/5

Stepbrother alert! When Billy aka Ghost was thirteen and Jessie was eight, his dad married her mom. Ghost and Jessie's older brother became close and Jessie was the annoying tagalong little sister. But when Jessie turned sixteen a kiss changed everything.

After a loss and years of separation, Jessie hitchhikes her way, with just the clothes on her back, to Sturgis in desperate need to find Ghost. Before she finds him, however, she overhears something she shouldn't and now she needs Ghost's protection. But do Ghost and the Evil Dead MC have other plans?

Not my favorite by James but it's a solid story with an enjoyable plot. Ghost and Jessie were likeable characters. I'm looking forward to Blood's story. Well done.

So having never read anything by this author and each book in this series being able to be read as a standalone i jumped right into Ghost and got sucked into a romantic tale of lost love and visiting the past. Ghost and Jess have a interesting past the idea of loving someone and then them leaving you but returning at the most heartbreaking time was interesting. I liked how headstrong and wild Jess is in comparison to Ghost. He is calm, collected but totally a hot alpha. I loved the way the characters reconnected and the action side of the story that Jess brought to Ghost and his MC crew. Will be reading more from this author and this series at some point in the future

Love love love this series, this was no exception, this picks up where we left Wolf, and explains why Ghost was missing. I loved that this was someone from his past. I love that Jessie was feisty. I loved that no matter what Ghost was loyal to her and his MC. I kind of wish we had seen him go after Kyle or there had been some sort of big reveal with the look a like piece of it, but other than that it had it all. I liked that the author doesn't follow the same old, kidnap the old lady formula. This made it interesting, although it could have had a tad more angst and suspense. I think I will enjoy them as supporting characters in other stories to like seeing their business of events grow etc. Overall a Must Read MC experience.

Ghost you disappointed me in your book. Your character in Book 2 & 3 were over the top and I was left without the 'wow' factor. It was interesting and kept me reading till the end. No hidden surprises as discovered in the first 3 books of the ED MC Series; Birmingham. Ghost did & fixed everything. He took care of everyone one, but when he got mad, he became mad...He should have had more 'mad' moments...LOL He was a joker and laughed alot and fell for the character,

Ghost happened to be my favorite of the MC series, however, I did not think this story did him justice. I wasn't feeling Jessie either. In fact, she annoyed me throughout the whole story. I couldn't connect with them. The previous relationship add to my issues with them as a couple but I looked past it. The unnecessary drama and her childish tantrums is kind of what did it for me. I had strain feeling for this book. Great potential not so great follow through

I love it when a story changes the dynamic between two people—when the parameters of a relationship is redefined through age or circumstance…or because of an intense chemistry that no longer can be denied.

Ghost spots a 'damsel in distress' who seem awfully familiar and it doesn't take him very long to realize why. Jessie is someone who has never been far from his mind or his heart, not since she was just a pesky little girl. Well, she's not a little girl now and before Ghost even has a chance to find out what it is that haunts her, those long suppressed feelings bubble to the surface and threaten to mess with his carefully erected boundaries. Ha! Mess with? Obliterate rather, because once the juicy forbidden fruit is tasted, there is no way in hell he can go back to canned fruit salad.

The writing by Nicole is, as always, very engaging. We are thrown right into the action, and it never really lets up. Aside from the nicely constructed intrigue, there is an interesting romantic development with a massive amount of character growth, which in my books is an absolute necessity to keep me spellbound. Telling a story is one thing, painting three dimensional characters so well that your readers have no problem making them flesh and blood is another. It's a gift Nicole James has, not just a skill, not just a talent, but a gift. I for one am grateful she share it with her readers.

This entire MC series has been fabulous, starting with the first book and each one thereafter, never letting up. Written on a level of maturity that is very appealing to me and therefore I highly recommend it!

Ghost was a good addition to the Evil Dead Series.

Ghost and Jessie have a past that neither want to face as it brings up painful memories.
Their future is a bit shaky too but with a little persistence they are trying to make it work.

It was a good story but not one of my favorites in the series.

I am happy I eventually finished this series because I realized that I don't like books about outlaws and so on, when somebody is mean, is mean in my opinion.

Sono contenta di aver finito questa serie, perché tutto sommato ho capito che in definitiva ai libri sui cattivi che poi sono tanto innamorati io non ci credo per niente, quando uno é cattivo é cattivo e basta.

After reading the first four books in the series, I was curious about Ghost so I'm glad to get his story and I'm so glad I did. What a tough badass with a big heart!

Ghost has led the typical life of a biker. He doesn't have an ol'lady and is free to be his own man. When a part of his past comes back into his life, he starts having all those feelings he had long ago. He soon finds himself torn between his MC life and his private life.

Jessie is in danger from a rival club and runs to Ghost, the one man she knows will protect her. She has always loved Ghost and they shared a moment years ago when their parents were married. Ghost had feelings for her that he thought were wrong and some would consider it forbidden, so he left. Now it's years later and as they are face to face, Ghost realizes that she has grown up to be a woman and not the young girl he left.

You can really feel how torn Ghost is. He knows he wants her but keeps pushing her away. Just when you think they are going to be together, he pulls back. When the rival club starts threatening Jessie's life even further, Ghost's protective side takes over and he then realizes he has more feelings for her than he thought. He knows he wants her in his life but can he save her from the club? I love how he goes against his own club to try and keep her protected. Jessie is one woman who isn't easily tamed and I loved seeing the wild banter between the two. Just when Ghost thinks he has her under control, she proves him wrong and here comes her attitude.

Just when you think things are on the right path, trust is broken and you wonder if their relationship can be repaired. I loved seeing how Ghost becomes so protective over her and you know he will do whatever it takes to make her his. I loved Ghost and Jessie and the heat in this book was definitely HOT! As much as I did love Ghost and this story, I felt like at times he called her brat one too many times. I just think it was over the top at times and I wanted him to get over it and move on. Overall, I did love this story and I really want Blood's story as soon as possible!! I love this series!!

This entry into Nicole James' amazing MC series is all about secrets and how they destroy. From their childhood crushes, to adult lies, Ghost and Jessie have to figure out how to grow up, forgive, and move past their history. It's a tangled web & not the secrets I'd expected so I enjoyed the surprise. Lots of movement of MC politics too for series readers. ❤️

I really wanted to like this book. But Jesse got on my nerves. I get impulsive, but irrational and too stupid to live (cause that's what you are after you beg someone for help and then run away from them like the bad guys won't kill you, a lot, if they find you walking around on the street) - don't make for an interesting character. I'm not entirely certain why Ghost liked her...
