This is another great book from an awesome author. Reminds me a lot of the Bradford family which I'm a huge fan of. Great characters and a awesome story. Keeps you on your toes. Can't wait to see who mom sets up for the brother lol

I liked this book A LOT! The characters were funny and very realistic. I like the idea of the EMS setting as well although I do feel/would have liked a little bit more 'action' (for a lack of a better word) and maybe a bigger breakthrough at the end but I definitely enjoyed the book very much! Absolutely worth a try and I'm already looking forward to more material from the author!

I have loved everything this woman has written and this was right in line with the rest. I love the personality of the characters. And the happily ever after. I'm a romantic, and R.L. gets me my fix

ANOTHER HIT BY RL MATHEWSON! The chemistry between the two main characters is hot. Love the whole friends with benefits and the road they each take individually to figure out their feelings for each other. Wont say more dont wanna give it away just READ this book!

Enjoyed the read. Good tension though somewhat predictable. Interesting premise of long term friends with tempting attraction to each other. Curious how this series will compare with the neighbors from hell which was a blast to read.

sometimes people are too afraid to admit to themselves that they love a person...this crazy book deals with people working and how crazy it is out there...one crazy event can really change someones life in a second.

Enjoyed the characters, but I was a bit disappointed as I expected the kind of writing demonstrated in the Neighbor from hell series, which I loved. This story was predictable and not as funny as I hoped it would be.

I really enjoyed reading A Sudden Response. I thought the characters were totally relatable. I have purchased several of R L Mathewson's books, and I haven't been disappointed in any of them. I can't wait for more!!

Really cute romance, I enjoyed the Eric and Joe's relationship, how it started out as friendship and developed over time, how they seemed to be in love with each other before they realized it. Good book, had some funny parts. I enjoyed it

This is a cute "friends that love each other and don't realize it" story. I did enjoy it, and I would recommend it if you're looking for a quick light read, and if you don't mind the horrible grammar and editing mistakes.
If you're a grammar freak like me, you might be a little put out by this book. Ok, a lot put out! For example, the phrase "if worse comes to worse" is used several times. And some sentences didn't make any sense because of the lack of commas.
I enjoyed Mathewson's neighbor series, so I wanted to give this book a try, in the end I was close to returning it for a refund. I didn't, because I liked the story, even if it needs some serious serious editing and lots of spell check.

I agree with the previous reviewer this book was terrible. Two adults that constantly have had their hands all over each other for 15 years, sleep in the same bed, have seen each other naked, etc... and have never acted on it was just odd. At times a wondered if I was reading a teen book because the maturity level in the writing and characters seemed adolescent. Also, at first I could not tell what the relationship was brother/sister, friends it came off disturbing not what I want to read involving a relationship. The first book I have read by this author and the last.

As a "friends to lovers" story this one is unrealistic, silly and a bit creepy. I am usually able to suspend my disbelief but it defies imagination (mine anyway) to believe that these two adults, now almost 30, hadn't thought about romance in the 20 years they'd known each other and all the while thought it was okay to sleep in the same bed, have their hands all over each other, etc. Their physical comfort with each other felt stilted and exaggerated and made the whole story a very uncomfortable read -- because it was a constant reminder of how dumb they must be. I can't recommend this one at all, it was just plain bad.

Sassy, sexy, hilarious banter.
Great glimpse into pressure & some of the dangers in the world of EMT makes me appreciate their tough job even more .
Eric & Joe (unpretentious tomboy) BFs from childhood, manage the art of tormenting each other, dumping dates that don't accept their close relationship & fear taking their relationship intimate all while rushing to assist distressed people.
Family dinners are a hoot with match making momma.

Looking forward to more of this series.

Mathewson knows how to write book that I just fall in love with. The characters are always perfect. They have the "goldilocks" temperature of the perfect bickering, fighting, drama, lust, love, and getting each other into trouble. There is not too much of all of the above, it is just the right amount.

Both main characters were written perfectly to where it felt like I just lived among them and got the pleasure of seeing them interact with each other. Eric and Joe were a fantastic duo together during work and as friends but were also strong character by themselves. These are the characters that I love to read about.

Sudden Response was funny throughout the pages and held my attention until the very end. It is an awesome, quick read that I suggest any Mathewson fan read immediately. ~BookWhisperer Reviewer MC~

This is a departure from the Neighbor from Hell series but still entertaining! I love her writing style and the characters are so genuine and real. I love how she writes the men's characters because I truthfully would love to meet one of these funny sexy men in person.
