You have absolutely no idea how desperately I needed Tahoe Roth to have his own book. Well, if you've read Katy Evans' Manwhore series, then maybe you know EXACTLY how badly I needed Tahoe Roth to get his own book. The sexual tension brimming between Tahoe and Gina in this series was a few sexy grins away from overshadowing Rachel and Saint's own romance in those books, that's how desperately I craved more of their story. I was distracted by them. I was hungry for them. The chemistry and the fierce denial and the repeated insistence that Gina and Tahoe are strictly in the friend zone had me SALIVATING for their story. I can not describe the feelings of excitement and anticipation and desperation I felt going into Ladies Man. This book had me hooked before it even existed.
This isn't a flawless read but it is an addictive one that had me so consumed, those flaws were not hard to overlook. The first 20% felt a little disjointed and choppy as Evans was setting up the story and the character dynamic, but the story progresses quickly and somewhere around the 25% mark, I think Evans found her stride because things fell into a delicious smoothness. It all felt much more honest, and I immediately went from spectator to a fully immersed part of this story. There were also a few times later on where I thought things felt rushed, like I wished more had been said to make the story feel more thorough, but looking back, the story itself is so beautiful and so emotion inducing, that I can easily overlook the things I wish were said because the things that actually were said were perfect.
Tahoe Roth, ladies man extraordinaire, takes infuriating leading male to a whole new level. Despite his warmth and his fun-loving personality, Tahoe is an impenetrable vault, keeping even his closest friends at a safe distance. He doesn't let anyone in, doesn't share the deepest parts of himself, and just when he unknowingly reveals even the tiniest bit of the real Tahoe, he shuts down again. It's frustrating and infuriating and it makes for a painstaking read, one I couldn't put down because I was so obsessed with seeing his walls chipped away. Almost as frustrating as Tahoe, Gina proved she was equally capable of driving me insane. She doesn't know her own value. Her history of being overlooked and betrayed has given her a serious inferiority complex and she walks through life masking her insecurities and self doubt. Between Gina's vulnerability and quiet insecurity and Tahoe's refusal to let anyone in, it was seriously impossible to imagine things progressing beyond the friendship barrier. They're maddening, these two. This is a throw-your-kindle-while-slamming-shots kind of read, people.
I live for a romance that has me seething with anger, swooning with lust, and ravenous to see where these characters take me. I had it all in Ladies Man. I got lost in this book. I felt so much all at once, I felt like I had whip lash from the rapid fire emotions I was made to feel with every turn of the page: impatience, longing, lust, profound attraction, hope and unadulterated anger. This book pissed me off like you would not believe (I am replaying one scene in particular over and over and over in my head and it still makes me want to scream), but it only made me hungrier for the ending I was so hoping existed. Ladies Man is pages and pages and pages of sexual tension. This book is one epic build toward something you just know is going to be huge, explosive, unforgettable. Katy Evans did not hold back with this one, hitting me over and over with a barrage of feels, unsettling uncertainty, and a sexy, unpredictable ride that I loved and hated to feel in equal measure.

Just when I thought the Manwhore series ended with Rachel and Malcolm Saint's wedding, Katy continues the series featuring Tahoe and Gina! They were kind of in the previous books. Gina's a man hater who was betrayed by the man she was in love with. Tahoe, Malcolm Saint's bestie, is the ladies man. He's the guy who likes to go clubbing and have tons of fun! They struck up a friendship. Rachel was suspicious there's more going on, but she was so infatuated with Malcom, she just let it go.
What I liked about Ladies Man: I always love when the storyline from previous books continue in a minor way. Tahoe and Gina's story picks up after the wedding where some hot and heavy stuff ALMOST happened.
Gina couldn't get her mind off hottie Tahoe. She was scared. He might break her heart like her ex did. Throughout the entire book, it was like a back and forth ping pong game. Tahoe showed interest, but Gina shut him down. Gina showed interest, but then she'd find Tahoe with a bunch of women in his home.
Gina dated this total loser to keep Tahoe off her mind. And when I say loser, I mean it. The guy was broke, he was a vegan, and there was no sparks in their relationship.
Those sparks only came when Gina's thinking about her kiss with Tahoe. Oh yeah, they did steal a few kisses. Let's just say their kisses could've started a wildfire! Whew...fan yourself ladies because Tahoe and Gina are hot together!
Tahoe didn't think he was worthy of Gina. Gina thought she wasn't good enough for a hot one night stand with Tahoe. Low self-esteem much? Gina always wore a s*** ton of make-up. Why? If a man can't like you in your natural state, send him to date a Victoria Secret model. Tahoe liked Gina without make-up. He preferred it when Gina didn't wear make-up or spend hours on her hair. That's a man you can love forever.
Tahoe was a ladies man indeed. He loved the player lifestyle. The book is purely from Gina's POV, so it's anyone's guess how Tahoe's feelings for Gina changed. It's obvious they did.
What I didn't like about Ladies Man: The push/pull relationship I mentioned went on way too long. Gina was kind of whinny, and like I said she had some serious self-esteem problems. It was hard for Gina to move on after she was hurt so badly. That's understandable, but she went all feminist at one point. Really not necessary.

Another Katy Evans' book, another REALLY hot hero! but like... REALLY HOT! I admit at first i found him a little too "manwhore", and i hurt for Gina. She's amazingly strong, not being totally devastated and "doing her life", with Tahoe and all his women in front of her. But the more i read the more i found him attractive. I liked how protective he was with Gina. I liked how he cared for his friend Saint. When i understood why he was a "ladies man", i fell in love ! Seriously it's impossible to resist him. Another Katy Evans' book, another great and addictive story! I was and i'm still a big fan! thank you Katy Evans!

"Love should make you feel good about yourself and about the person you are when you're with the one you love. Love should make you feel accepted as you are."
They say Tahoe Roth is a ladies man. And they're right because he charmed his way right into my heart. I loved Ladies Man. I loved getting to know the real Tahoe Roth - the one he keeps hidden from everyone. Everyone except Gina. Because she's been hurt before she recognizes the wounded warrior hidden beneath his heart of gold.
He wants her. She wants him. But neither want to risk losing the friendship they've formed. But sometimes you have to open your heart and let love take over.
I loved watching these two broken souls come together and find peace, solace, love, and acceptance in themselves and each other.

Loved reading this book. Loved the storyline and H and h. For me, it was "that" book. The one book that you hope comes along to satisfy you're reading thirst. I read a lot. Decent stories. Then, Wham! I finally read one that I just adore. I grinned. I awaited each time the H and h would run into each other. I didn't want to stop reading. Then I was done. :(
Tahoe was amazing. Supportive. Caring. Concerned. But kept his distance.
Regina, her issues made me sad. I connected with her. Her need to hide behind the makeup, to be loved and not feel like she wasn't first for someone. Just someone. She proves you can be happy with anyone. Complacent. Yet, you miss something bigger. So glad she finally took a chance. A risk. Let it all out there.

I loooooved Tahoe. Even though he was a total ladies man he was still a great guy and loyal friend. I loved his chemistry with Gina. They had a good friendship and lots of underlying attraction. The book was written well and I was interested throughout. I was a little disappointed that they did not get together her until 80% into the book. I would have liked to have read more about them together. But I wouldn't want to have missed out on everything leading up to their moment as well. I loved their easy friendship. All in all it was a great read. Looking forward to Callan's story and hoping his relationship is more involved in the book.

I have been anxiously awaiting Tahoe and Gina's story since the end of Manwhore! This lived up to all my expectations!! Tahoe and Gina both have baggage and reasons why they can't be together. But something about the other keeps pulling them together!! The angst and attraction was palpable throughout the entire book!! Their chemistry was off the charts!! I cannot wait for Callan's book!! Oh boy!!

Have you ever read a story that very slowly, achingly slowly, builds the tension and heat between the two characters who are obviously meant to be together? For readers who have been reading the Manwhore series, Tahoe is Saint's best friend and Regina is Rachel's best friend and former roommate. Tahoe is another Manwhore who goes through women like water. He is always thirsty but the women never quench his thirst no matter how often he drinks from the well. Regina was terribly hurt by her only serious boyfriend and is attracted to Tahoe from the beginning. Tahoe tells Regina that he will never have a serious relationship so they settle for being best friends. This story touched me on so many levels. My daughter died from Leukemia as did Tahoe's wife Lisa. My daughter's boyfriend of many years played lacrosse. So of course this story had special meaning to me. Katy Evans is one of my most favorite authors and she doesn't disappoint with Ladies Man. Katy helps you feel what the characters are feeling and crave what the characters are craving. You have to read this book to experience the tender love and hot passion that finally brings Tahoe and Regina together. Five plus stars for one of the best stories I have ever read.

Tahoe and Gina's story was so good. Their denial, months and years worth, ramped up the chemistry and anticipation. When they fell, it was hard and sweet and beautiful.
I know Tahoe was broken but I did not expect the reason why. It made me love him even more. They fought what seemed so natural but had they given in sooner, they would have missed so much discovery, about themselves and each other.
Ladies Man on Audible added to the Tahoe experience. He is swoon worthy.

This was a great story. The storyline was well developed and there were so many sexy moments. Regina and Tahoe were amazing characters.
The only negative thing I can say is that even though this was a stand-alone there were parts where I was lost and I'm thinking that if I had read Manwhore before this book some things would have been clearer.
With that being said, it was still a fabulous book!

I loved reading parts of this book, loved the characters but there could have been much more depth and detail. I just felt a lot was missing in terms of the relationship between Gina and her parents and in other areas. The ending also felt extremely rushed and thrown together. Still overall a decent read and not disappointed I purchased. However it could have been better.

"He's infuriating. He's annoying. He's cocky. Selfish. Self-centered. Really, I don't even know why we're friends."
FINAL DECISION: I prefer my romances to be between the hero and heroine. Here, the heroine was in a sexual relationship with another man that begins during the book and continues almost two-thirds of the way through. Then the resolution between the hero and heroine was incredibly rushed. Disappointed.
THE STORY: Gina has been attracted to Tahoe for years. Tahoe is definitely a manwhore with different women (sometimes more than one) just about every night. Gina approaches Tahoe with the possibility of a one night stand but he turns her down. Instead she finds another man. While everything seems to be going well with her new boyfriend, Gina and Tahoe are learning to be friends. Yet the attraction between the two doesn't go away as these two hurt people find was of caring for one another without sex.
OPINION: I was extremely disappointed with this novella because it had such promise. The story was angsty and I loved the relationship between Gina and Tahoe.
What I didn't like was that despite the fact that they both are pretty messed up about relationships, the resolution was immediate and only took a few pages. The vast majority of the book was Gina finding another man to have a relationship with, her attempts to make it work and then her moving on from that relationship. There were more sexual scenes with the other guy than the hero of the book.
About half way through the book, I was sure that the book was going to end on a cliffhanger as the first Manwhore book did because there was no way the story could be resolved in so few pages. I was wrong because the story is complete here, but I was right that the story couldn't properly be resolved in the pages left.
Too much of Tahoe's history came out quickly and then was pushed aside rather as "solved" rather than properly dealt with. I just didn't buy the resolution to the story and it left a bad taste for me, ruining what might have been a great story.
I was utterly disappointed.
WORTH MENTIONING: Fans of the Manwhore series will get a treat with an update on Rachel and Saint.
CONNECTED BOOKS: LADIES MAN is the third book in the Manwhore series. The book can be read as a standalone as it deals with a different couple than the other books in the series.
STAR RATING: I give this book 2.5 stars.

This book is not a romance book. Unless you count the last quarter of the book only... Not sure why it was so well received. The writing was below average at best. Some of the dialogue between the 2 main characters was beyond idiotic.

There's some serious underlying stuff going on in this book. I ready thought Tahoe was going to be the joker of the bunch. It turns out his demons were as bad as Regina's. Really enjoyed seeing them work through it as friends first.

Since I've read most everything Evans has ever published, my favorite series being the Manwhore Saga, I was stoked for this! However, I couldn't have been more disappointed. Ladies Man was rushed. It was unfinished. It dragged. It was like Evans made little blurbs with information but forgot to create an actual story that had any depth. I was so sad that it wasn't up to her usual par. Hopefully the next one is better, because this was doozy. I HATED Gina; she's an imbecile. Tahoe though, he had potential. But again, there was no depth, just a bunch of rushed scenes thrown haphazardly together in hopes it would all work out. I just...I just can't. Better luck next time.

Review for Ladies Man by Katy Evans
Ladies Man is part of the Manwhore series by Katy Evans and can be enjoyed as a standalone, which is how I read it. I’ll most likely go back and read the first three books because this one was extremely good. I expected it to be dirty smut, but I was pleasantly surprised that it was more of an angsty romance.
Regina has horrible luck with men. She’s wanted the ideal head-over-heels in love kind of relationship, but had her heart trampled in the worst way. Now she’s settling and it was painful to see. She’s so good; sweet and loyal. Her character is one you want to be friends with and one that you desperately want to have the happy ending she deserves.
Tahoe Roth is a manslut. Seriously. I had mixed feelings about him for a long while as I read. Regina has such a strong attraction to him and despite his faults she continues to think about how much more there is to him. He’s such a wonderful friend to her; protective and sweet to the point that he often drops what he’s doing (even mid-sex, who does that!) just to be there for her. He won me over and I kind of fell in love with the man.
There is so much angst between the two characters. The push and pull is like industrial strength velcro — they come together and fit perfectly, but you know it won’t last because the sole purpose of velcro is to be able to rip a piece away. I wanted so badly for Tahoe to realize he deserved so much more than he was allowing himself to have. It was a long arduous journey for them both. A lot of ups and downs, maybe even a few side-to-sides.
Katy Evans definitely redeemed herself with this novel. I avoided the Manwhore series after my disappointment with the end of the Real series, but I’m glad that I read this one. I’ll be going back and reading the first three books in the series. I’m so very glad the Evans I love is back!

Please RateLadies Man
Regina was determined to maintain her single existence, after heartbreak and betrayal years before, she swore off love and romance, determined to protect her heart against men who would only disappoint and hurt her, when her best friend Rachel falls hopelessly in love with one of the city's most eligible bachelor's Saint, she finds herself fighting to keep telling herself that single is what she truly wants to be. Saints best friend Tahoe was at first the epitome of everything she hated about men, he was cocky and arrogant, had women falling at his feet, and he used them and tossed them away just as quickly, but the more she got to know the cocky business man, the more she began to see him as her friend, the friend that she spent her time alternating between wanting to kiss him or punch him in the face.
On the surface, everything about Tahoe and Regina's friendship seems all wrong, and yet quickly they come to mean more to each other than anyone else, they become each others sounding board, lucky charm, best friend, their chemistry is explosive, their attraction undeniable, and yet they skirt the truth of what they are and how they feel, seeming to always take one step forward and two steps back, coming dangerously close to unravelling the lies they tell themselves and each other. Regina has always felt broken, betrayed, forgotten, left behind, first by her parents and then by her ex boyfriend Paul, she's a walking case study on abandonment issues, terrified of being hurt again, and yet simultaneously scared to miss out on life by pushing people away. It's assumed that she is the one battling past demons, but the more we delve into their friendship, the more we see that Tahoe is just as adept at keeping secrets himself. Are his playboy ways be design or is there more to the man the he leads people to believe...
Ladies Man isn't a story of instalove, their chemistry is potent, it's undeniable, there's a rawness to their budding friendship, an honesty that neither has truly experienced, despite her overwhelming attraction to the man, Gina slowly shows more of herself than she even realises, Tahoe despite his reputation dispels the playboy myth so many times when it comes to her, neither can deny that what they have is more than friendship, and yet there is still a slow build that is so exquisite to watch unfold, admitting they want each other has never been a problem, spending time together definitely not a chore, recognising that together they have something worth fighting for is part of the beauty of the journey. Ladies Man was captivating, exploring the enigma that is Tahoe Roth had me glued to the pages, watching Gina's journey from a woman who resigned herself to never putting herself out there again, to a woman who almost welcomed the pain knowing she was chasing after something more for herself that hiding behind past heartbreak is what had me unable to look away.
