Loved Jack and Margot are opposites! He is a farmer. She is a city girl. She is high cotton. He is low drag. This was such a sweet story! I will never look at chickens and eggs the same way. Who knew that is what romance is made of? A must read!

AMAZING!!!!

THIS story has everything!! I'm overwhelmed with the book. Melanie how do you do it!? Because I'm in love with Jack Valentini, I was hooked from the beginning till the end; the story is just beyond amazing. The love, the passion, the thrill is off the charts. One of the things that I love about stories like this is the originality, the deep plot that got me begging for more. A farmer, ex vet and and AMAZING lover just perfect!!! Once again thank you for bringing this.

The story was about a privileged city girl who meets a grumpy, heart broken farmer. Oh wait, I forgot to mention broody and HOT. I really enjoyed Margot's character. While she was used to getting everything handed to her in life, she wasn't whiny. In fact, she was intelligent, hard-working and even a bit humble. She even decided to step out of her comfort zone and go after the one thing that her family wouldn't accept - Jack. The chemistry between the 2 was off the charts. It was nice to see Jack's progression throughout the story. The only thing I felt was missing was more on his fear of loud noises. I didn't really feel like we get a good enough explanation for that. Overall, it was a good read.

Fantastic beginning. I was kinda worried there for a minute that Margot was gonna fall again for Mr Clueless. I would have thrown the pie
This book is hilariously funny. I'm so into it. It's also sad. But what else is life about. You have to take pain with the honey. Grief makes you stupid sometimes. I really feel for Jack. His pain and guilt is eating away at him. I would love to shake him silly.
I ache for Margot. To have your heart broken twice. It's really not good. She has so much to give.
Aah. Communicate, Apologise, and love. Love like you've never loved before. Love really conquers all. What a wonderful read this was for me. Thank you Melanie Harlowe

This is swoony instalove at its finest.

The book starts out with a lol-worthy bang, that’s for sure! From the beginning I loved the storyline and the main characters. Margot the strong heroine and Jack, the super broody alpha, have some serious chemistry. I’m not big on instalove, but the antagonistic relationship between Margot and Jack and their hilarious banter helped me overlook that. I loved getting inside both of the characters’ heads with the dual, first person points of view; it really helped developed Jack’s character especially given his demons.

If you’re looking for sweet, contemporary romance that is one-click worthy, you can’t go wrong with Harlow.

One of Melanie's hottest male characters, Jack Valentini will be forever etched in my mind! The story of Jack and Margot is so well developed, elaborate, and swoon-worthy! With it's quintessential push/pull story line, After We Fall has you rooting for them to come together. This is definitely, without a doubt, one of Melanie Harlow's best stories. It'll have your heart hurting, your smile as wide as can be, and your Kleenex box empty. My heart was left soaring!

This is the second of three books detailing three friends Jaime, Margot and Claire and the men who love them. This story is about Margot, wealthy city girl raised in the lap of luxury. She meets Jack while out on a job for an organic farm (she and Jaime have gone into business together in their own PR firm). He's widowed a former army member and co-owner of the farm with his two brothers. Jack loves the farm but wants to keep things the way they are. Margot was called in by his family to present marketing strategies to increase awareness and profitability of the farm. They clash at their first meeting. But, that changes as they begin to find each other irresistible. There are graphic sexual scenes and "salty" language. If you are averse to this type of behavior this might not be the book for you.

Margot is not your typical rich, city girl. She has had enough of the city. After the unfortunate "scone incident", she finds herself out of her comfort zone, on a farm and in the sites of one smokin hot, infuriating farmer. Jack is not your typical farmer. He has been to war and his life has led him down a heartbreaking path. Margot is there to help his family build on their business. Their chemistry together is off the charts. This story will make you laugh and break your heart. This was one heck of an emotional ride. I felt it all! This is why I will continue to read everything Melanie Harlow writes!

Just what the doctor ordered...the book doctor that is...a solid 4.5 stars....I absolutely loved this book...a story of opposites attract (The rich city girl and the rugged farmer)...these two had chemistry from the get go...I loved Margot's sass mixed with her sweet and Jack's moodiness mixed with his sexiness...well developed backstories about grief, forgiveness, letting go, and rediscovering oneself...Melanie Harlow has a beautiful way of taking the reader on a journey of self discovery, loss, and love...wrapping it altogether in HEA perfection!

Dear me this was good!! Second chance romance at its best! Jack was equal parts cranky, frustrating, heartbreaking, dirty talking and amazing. Margot was funny, sassy, smart, brave and oh so endearing to me. The two together may have started as complete opposites, but they balanced each other and fit in a way that I loved! Seeing Jack deal with his baggage and fears was hard, as much as it was hard to see Margot sad and defeated. But I also loved her determination to live a "funner and more fulfilling life" despite expectations and traditions. Melanie Harlow has once again made me smile. Worth reading!

I absolutely loved this tortured story about second chances!! The writing was beautiful, so full of emotions that you felt it all while reading.
The characters are rich and vibrant and it made me want to go ride a horse, plant an garden and move to a farm!
Jack's character is a delicious mix of surly, broody, tortured alpha male stuck in the past who is also kind, gentle with a big heart.
Margot isn't your typical entitled, rich city girl. She has aspirations to make a difference in her lifetime and she's not afraid of getting her hands dirty.
I love Melanie's writing and she definite did not disappoint with this book!!

Delightful story about loss and love. I listened to audiobook and that was very good, it’s not always the case but the duo reading had very soothing voices so I enjoyed it.

The storyline was good and the characters was well written so the book was packed with emotions. I got the feeling of knowing the characters inner thoughts and emotions through the story.

No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and lots of dialogues make it extra enjoyable.

I laughed, cried and was embarrassed on their behalf, in other words I disappeared in the book and that’s a big 5 stars for me.

I loved Jack and Margot - I especially loved Jack. His inner dialogue and his emotionally engaged character left for a heartwrenching book. I literally felt as if I had been put through the wash cycle of a washing machine. I cried through this book and I don't like to cry...I don't like sad books but OMG there are literally 4 authors that I know will get an emotional response from me and Melanie is one of them. This book tugs at the heartstrings. If you haven't read it- then you need to.

This book was interesting and engaging, and the characters were likeable. However, it was extremely similar to a book by Lucy Score, " No More Secrets: A Small Town Love Story" in the Blue Moon Bend series. The similarities were eerie, right down to the military veterans with PTSD and the organic farming. I guess these are trendy themes in romance novels these days.

This book would have been much better with much of it left to the imagination. As it was, I felt that Jack and Margot were like a couple of dogs in heat. A good dose of subtlety would have been welcome. I gave up after only a quarter of the book.

Another enjoyable book in this series. I liked the characters and the story, but yeah there were things I felt were not fleshed out enough, or that were a little unlikely. However, the writing is good and the characters made me decide that I didn’t mind suspending those thoughts in favour of simply enjoying this story. Definitely liked the characterisation of jack and Margot, and especially Georgia.

I thoroughly enjoyed this. The tension between Jack and Margot is beautifully maintained. Two very different people with such different backgrounds and yet the romantic in us is wanting them to get together. It is time Jack lived again and Margot is such an endearing personality that she is so obviously the right person to bring him back to the real world.
I love it when the characters are so believable, and when those around them play a part in what is happening. It creates a lovely feeling of reality.
Will the cowboy and city girl end up together? Finding out was a real delight.

I loved these characters. They were funny and had such great banter and wit with each other. The chemistry was smoking hot and the emotional connection was deep. This is a story about moving forward and letting go of the past; Finding peace and embracing love.
Melanie Harlow is one of my favourite authors. I have bought and read every book of hers that I could find and will always one-click any future releases.

Found this author looking for "free reads" on the kindle. It's been awhile since I really enjoyed a book, or even found one that held my attention. I was sneaking in the bathroom at work just to read a few pages ?. Melanie Harlow your book is fabulous, I look forward to passing your name around. Thanks for helping me get through a tough week with this book.

I'm absolutely blown away by Harlow's beautiful tale of redemption, learning to live again and having a second chance at love. Falling in love with Jack was the easiest thing to do once you got to see his tender, vulnerable spots under his armor of animosity. And although this book is definitely a standalone, I love how Harlow intergraded characters from another equally loved book of hers.

I really liked this book. I loved the chemistry between Margot and Jack. Loved how jack was with his nephew cooper ,especially sweet.
But sometimes it was like the characters would go on and on about thinking things through and I got to the point I would fast read through those pages because I had already read it earlier in the book but it was worded differently. It wad about the insecurities they both had. Other than that it was great. Loved it. The ending made so happy and I really liked the ending ALOT. The way he did it was the best. Trying not to spoil it.;)

I'm a sucker for farmer romance! I absolutely loved it, Margot was a perfect character in this book. She never lost sight of who she was, she didn't do some crazy 180 transformation, she changed for good reasons but she never lost her city style. And Jack, well definitely swoon worthy. But he was also a great character. The realness associated with PTSD was very accurate and true to r w all life.

I loved this and that Melanie did the research and turned it into a wonderful book.

This is a good story of two flawed characters who get to grow into more complete people because of each other. Margot needed a push to find her own voice and make choices for herself. Jack was carrying a lot of emotional baggage that wasn’t doing him any good.
We got to see them have fun together, challenge each other, and get a well-earned HEA.

Lovely and sexy story with an opposites attract grumpy hero and sweet heroine. I love that even though Margot was a rich city girl she wasn't snobbish, shallow or stupid. Also, I loved that Jack was quick to apologize and understand his jerky behavior. My only quibbles were the insta-love and my personal want of seeing them with a family.

Thank you first for this beautiful story. It touched me deeply having lost my spouse I related to every word and felt every emotion. Including considering a tattoo for myself, mine will be Carpe Diem (seize the day) even knowing this was fictional I'm sure Melanie you had to have either experienced loss or someone close to you. Letting go to the future you thought you'd have forever isn't easy and growing forward is even harder, I truly know. You are an inspiration to those of us to acknowledge our weaknesses and owning them, which lets us heal and move on with life. Thank you again. If you think you know someone...look deeper!
Must read!!! Beautifully written and great story

I enjoyed everything about this book. Margot and Jack were great together, the story progressed nicely and ended well. Every time Jack laughed or smiled was a feel good moment, He made you want to see him be happy. The characters were all very likeable (except Tripp). I think this is the first time I've read this author and I really liked her writing style and can't wait to read more of her books.

Quite possibly my favorite Melanie Harlow book to date. After We Fall was heartfelt and emotional, but it also had plenty of humor and sexiness. Margot and Jack's story touched my heart. This is one book I would most definitely recommend.

Wow! Melanie Harlow has written some fantastic books, but this one was truly phenomenal. The writing was impeccable and I felt everything the characters were feeling; the sign of an extremely talented author. Jack had so much pain he needed to overcome to just live and Margot was the perfectly sweet and feisty firecracker to put him in his place and show him the way.

An absolutely amazing book!

Jack Valentini took my breath away and Margot is a delight. There was humor, angst, Love, sadness, pain you name it this one has it. This is a fantastic story about falling in love and learning to let go.
Jack lost his wife and his life started to fall apart...again. having served in the military and having PTSD, Jacks wife was the only person that could keep him calm and stable. Now he's angry all of the time and would love nothing more than to have a sense of normalcy in his live.

Storyline has been done too many times. I'm pretty sure i read a book by Lucy Score that was just like this. The leads have the same fight over and over again. Very redundant. Towards the end i started skimming to get to the very predictable, cheesy end.

Melanie Harlow is one of my favorite authors, so I was so excited to see she had a new book out. This did not disappoint and in fact, may be her best work yet. I love the angsty, undeniable chemistry between the two characters and couldn't put the book down. Do yourself a favor and DEVOUR this book!!!!

I really enjoyed this book. The simple yet beautiful writing of the author made the experience of meeting Jack and Margot something unforgettable. Their love wasn't easy, but it was intense and awesome. It was cool to read about Quinn and Jamie again, and I'm looking forward to read what's next in this series.
