This is the emotional conclusion to The White House Series.

After Matt became president he sent Charlotte away. Both agreed that it was for the best even though their hearts were breaking. Charlotte travels overseas trying to get over Matt while Matt is just starting his career as Mr. President. Matt has someone keeping track of Charlotte because he is still unable to let go. Once Charlotte returns to the states its in time for the balls happening in celebration of Matt's becoming president. She RSVPs to go to one in support and just to see Matt telling herself its a simple courtesy. However Matt has other plans for Charlotte and surprises her with a proposition that will keep them together.

I loved this book almost as much as the first. The chemistry between these characters pours from the pages. I couldn't put it down until I knew if they ended up together or not. This book will keep you turning pages until you are left wanting more of their story. Great story and amazing characters you couldn't ask for more in a story. The steamy hot sex was an added bonus. I highly recommend this series to anyone that loves a great love story. I can't wait to read more from this author.

Commander in Chief is Book Two in Katy Evans White House Series and there is only one word to say about this one is Amazing.
This book starts right where Book One ends. Matthew Hamilton has Won the Presidency but at what cost. He did what he set out to do but giving up the woman you love shouldn't have been one of them.
Charlotte Wells knows walking away from Matthew was one of the hardest things she ever had to do, but she knows his passion about the love for his country exceeds it all.
But when Inauguration Day comes both of them know that mistakes have been made and that they not only need each other but that They can love each other and their country the same.
Matthew & Charlotte are a force together and they will prove to the world they can make it a better place by being at each other sides and each other's champion.
This book is heartwarming from the very first page and the love you feel between the two will pour off the pages as you read their story.

A few months back, scrolling through Facebook, I came across an ad for "Mr. President" by Katy Evans. I had never heard of this author before, but the synopsis of the story drew me in. I bought the book, and read it straight through. I couldn't put it down. From the first words all the way to the last - Katy Evans took me on a journey that had be screaming when I realized there would be a part 2 - and I had to wait months for it to come out. Kinda like the season finale of your favorite show. "OMG! ? What happens? Don't leave me hanging like this! Whyyyyy?! ?" You know. All the melodramatic cliches you can think of? I went through them all. I immediately had to find more books by Katy Evans. At least to hold me over until Commander in Chief came out. And I do not regret it one bit. Katy Evans has grown to be one of my absolute favorite authors. There has not been one book that I haven't absolutely loved from start to finish.
I told all of my friends about her, "You need to read the Real Series. ? Then Manwhore... ? Then (you see where this is going, right?) But what started it all for me was the White House series. But you have to wait because book 2 comes out soon and you're going to go crazy waiting for AAH!"
I was so giddy and happy when I saw Commander in Chief on my Kindle. Im not lying. This author - this story - inspired me. This was a big deal. For me! (Silly, I know. Kinda like that long anticipated movie - finally out in theaters!)
So - let me tell you about Commander in Chief! Matthew and Charlotte. Wow! Like I said, I fell in love with them - each as individual characters, and as a couple - in Mr. President. We pick up a few months after the first story ended. Matthew's inauguration. I wont lie. I cried at the end of Mr. President. I thought - "NOOO!" but within the first few pages of Commander in Chief - I couldn't help but smile. That's what Katy Evans does with her characters and stories. She draws you in so deep, the journey is nothing short but heart thumping and amazing. Her stories are so well written. Something I absolutely love about her? She whets your imagination with just enough detail and description - you can vividly see everything. And nothing is overdone. The love scenes are beyond swoon worthy. The way Matthew loves Charlotte - The things he says to her. ??? I wanna keep him. Seriously. Can I? He's absolutely perfect. And she loves him with just as much passion. I started highlighting quotes I wanted to share with you guys, but..Honestly? There are way too many for me to just pick one. It was the perfect conclusion for Matt and Charlotte. My only disappointment? It ended. ? Yes. Tragic, I know.
I don't want to spoil anything for you. Because, truly. You need to read this book. (You need to read everything by Katy Evans. Seriously.) Go stalk her on Facebook so you know what she has coming up next. I promise you, you will not regret it. I'm already waiting for the next one! Seriously, like a drug addict needing their next fix - that's how I feel about Katy Evans books. ?? In the meantime, I'll re-read some of her other stories. ?

Katy Evans is brilliant!! I totally feel in love with Matt and Charlotte in Mr. President. Gah!! Commander in Chief, the conclusion to Matt and Charlotte’s story, is the prefect mixture of blue blooded American patriotism and an undisputed love story. A modern-day fairytale romance full of heat and sexy times.

When I finished Mr. President my heart was left in shambles! Both Matt and Charlotte madly, deeply in love with each other, yet yielding to the fact that neither of them thought that they could have it. After Matt won the election, Charlotte took it upon herself to leave for a trip abroad with a bestie to mend her broken heart. The only problem was it only made her miss Matt and recognize she loved him even more.

Charlotte returned to DC just in time for Matt’s inauguration. Seeing Matt at one of the balls it was as though no time had passed at all. Still the same strikingly handsome man, although if anything more so, whose passion and love of his country was apparent. The difference was that Matt knew, beyond any doubt, that he had to have Charlotte with him. Just seeing her there was not enough for him anymore. Not accepting no as an answer anymore and fully seeing that they did deserve it all he was committed to do whatever it took to have C in his life once again.

Seeing each other again, Matt and Charlotte knew that they would never be able to ignore this unquenchable yearning love they had for the other. It was like picking up where they had left off…. the same salacious heat as before and holy cow if they just didn’t cranked it up even more!! Unrequited no more!

More determined than ever, Matt’s mission was unrelenting, undeniably and underway to make sure that Charlotte would be his once again!! How could I not swoon when Matt assured Charlotte that they would make it work! Taking it at the pace she set and was comfortable with… alleviating any doubts she may have. But holy hell that dance…and that kiss!

Together Matt and Charlotte are a force to be reckoned with. Their overwhelming love for not only each other but of this country was evident and a constant in the book. Not only that but the love and respect the country showed for them was equally apparent. We would be so, lucky to have a president and First Lady like these two!

CIC is the perfect conclusion to a fantastic love story. A total feel good book without a lot of the usual complications. Where the love between Matt and Charlotte felt palpable, pure and certainly made my heart flutter.

And good grief I wanted more!!

This is a continuation of Matt and Charlotte's story.. Matt is now President of the United States. Charlotte is trying to move on,but she can't. Her heart won't let her forget Matt. They have a love that won't die. I love the passion they have for each other, they are like horny teenagers lol. This book catches the importance of being President and all the pressure he's under. It also shows how important it is to make time for your wife and family. Its gotta be hard to balance but Matt and Charlotte make it look easy. They have a whirlwind relationship that turns into marriage and babies, the white house will never be the same. This book was such a joy to read, I seriously devoured it! I couldn't put it down! This was definitely the first time I finished two books back to back so fast. I seriously need more Matt and Charlotte!!!!

Commander in Chief (White House book 2) by Katy Evans

Sweet, sexy, commanding, loving and powerful. These are the words that can be used to describe the next installment of the White House series. Mathew and Charlotte’s had me eager to turn the page.

This installment picks up where Mr. President leaves off with Matt being elected President and is getting ready for his inauguration. We all questioned whether Charlotte will be there or not since she walked out on him on election night. The story didn’t have any intrigue or really much excitement from any type of threat. What this book does provide is a warm fuzzy feeling from all of the love that in infused within the pages. This is not overly sappy but it is like reading your favorite fairytale.

After book 1 I had to know what came next. Would Matt and Charlotte end up together? Would there be a HEA or not? Well now we know. Matt decided to go after what he wanted and make Charlotte his forever.

I found it fascinating to read about the different rooms in the White Hose and the amount of staff there is to keep the First Family safe. All of the activities of the First Lady and the responsibility of the office while trying to find the work life balance. All of the stolen moments and missed major events in life is something most of us do not take into account for the President and his/her family. Even though Matt is the most powerful man in the free world he is still human and it was great to see this side of the man in the White House.

If you are looking for just a nice love story, then this book and series is a must read!

OMG!!!! What was that? Katy Evans definitely knows how to make you SWOON and make you feel romance like no one else could make you feel, her words create stories with passion, lust, kindness and LOVE, they make you stay after reading her books in the cloud, dreaming with a love and life like her characters.
Finally we got Matthew and Charlotte fighting for love and a place in this world, making things right with a patriotism that it made me feel like I wanna be American too and vote for him, for her.
I loved how exquisite was this story, how elegant were the words and how Katy could make you dream with a better world and a better place to live and love.
Matt was everything and more, I could spend hours just talking about this true gentleman and his real lady, he was powerful, strong, smart, so sexy and it was a real POTUS. Charlotte was marvellous, elegant, classy with her own style and with a gold heart.
I couldn't get enough for them! It was perfect, sweet and it made me feel so much and very powerful.
Their story, their passion, their encounters, god! In one chapter I saw more love than in any other "romance" book
You need this book, a book about a sexy President and his strong First Lady, a book about love and opportunities to change the world step by step, a book about humanity and not losing faith even in yourself, cause you were made for greatness.
Katy Evans could write 10 pages and it would be a bestseller, she's perfection in words and I can't wait to read more from her!

Commander in Chief by Katy Evans picks up right where Mr President ended and now Matt is ready to become the next president of the United States. Almost everything he wants is at his fingertips, with the exception of two very important things to him-finding out who murdered his father, when his father was president, the second thing is Charlotte, who after he won the election, left for a trip with her friend as she is determined to stay away from Matt so no scandal mars his reputation. Matt has plans for Charlotte she knows nothing about.

As Matt is sworn in as president, Charlotte has returned home to witness it, and she is going to one of the balls that are being hosted for the president, and after he is sworn in and he is walking away, he turns and looks right into her eyes and smiles!

Matt can't wait until tonight to see Charlotte and he is determined she will not be allowed to run away! In fact without giving away too much, you will have to read on and see what happens! Lets just say that Charlotte's life is about to make a big change, and Matt won't take no for an answer!

I loved this book, and it is well written, so many twists and turns, and a lot of emotional and physical angst, make this book one of my favorites that I will read again!

I gave this book 5***** romantic stars! I can't wait for my next book by Katy Evans, and I am sure you will feel the same way after reading this gem!

After reading Mr. President in nearly a day, I couldn’t wait to get my hands-on Commander in Chief.

I love the characters of Charlotte and Matt that Katy created. I loved seeing them grow throughout the book. Although this was a love story, I loved how Matt gave it his all and investigated his father’s death. I loved how went through some real issues such as what happened with the Middle East, it was interesting to see how he tried to balance being a president with having a family.

There as always are somethings that I would of liked to have seen. More interaction with Charlotte and her parents. Maybe a bit more conflict between Matt and Charlotte, which I understand that it was a HEA and in 260 or so pages you can only go through so much conflict in ways I thought they came together a little too easily. They couldn’t be seen together in book one due to Scandal, but yet in book two when he finally became the president she was instantly accepted as the first lady. While I know this is fiction and can be farfetched, I don’t think some of those aspects were as believable as they could have been.

I still really loved this book and these characters. At the end of book two Katy Evans hints about a third book that wouldn’t necessarily be Charlotte and Matt but others characters from these books. I am eager to read and learn more about book three. Good book for those that are skeptical.

Commander in Chief (White House #2) by Katy Evans
3.5 stars!!!

“I don’t want to forget that for a little while, Matt Hamilton—forty-sixth president of the United States—was mine.”

Commander in Chief was one of my most highly anticipated reads of 2017, after Mr President, which was a five star read for me, I couldn’t wait to reconnect with Matthew and Charlotte. Commander in Chief starts a few months after the end of Mr President and Charlotte has been away in Europe to try to mend her broken heart without all the memories of Matt and Matt has been building up to his inauguration all the while missing the one person he has ever loved, Charlotte.

With the new Presidency, Matt is taking control of his new life and that new life most certainly has Charlotte at the forefront. Despite how they ended he wants Charlotte to be his first lady and will go to any lengths to make it happen. His charming personality and the love that they have for one and other are the biggest weapons in his arsenal.

“I’m faced with the doubts I suppose we’re all faced with, wondering if we’re enough, if we have the mettle to back up the shiny illusion of our best version of ourselves in our minds. But that’s the point, isn’t it? To try to chase it, even if it may always feel elusive. Except this dream is too big for me to fail at. I want to be a great first lady; I want to be a great woman deserving of a great man. The man I love.”

This book is seriously hot, Katy Evans certainly delivers on the sex scenes in this book and your kindle will seriously warrant a visit to the freezer many, many times. I had that character connection I crave, and the chemistry and intense love that these two had for each other was apparent in spades. As with any Katy Evans read this book oozed passion and love and you couldn’t help but be swept away by Matt and Charlotte’s story.

“Immeasurably, baby. I love you immeasurably.”

For me though, this book read more like a reality show, in so far as it follows their day to day life in the White House for many, many years. At times, I found my attention waning as we were treated to many descriptions about clothes, food, décor and such and for a Katy Evans read this was as plain sailing as they come, no real drama, no angst, no conflict. This was a sweet, swoon worthy read from start to finish.

“…but along with those is the steely look of a woman, of a woman coming into her own.”

These two lead the perfect life, everything was perfect. Personally, I would have loved to have seen Presidential struggles rather than Matt seemingly getting every bill he wants passed with no battles. I was looking forward to a little more insight into that side of things although I loved what I did get. I do think that a little more politics may have balanced the sweet of their personal lives and given this book a little more meat to keep the reader constantly interested.

I loved Matt and Charlotte, these two were so well suited, they were the peoples President and First Lady and the adoration that these two received throughout the book was great to read about, especially considering the animosity towards the current President Elect, maybe this was wishful thinking from Katy Evans. In summary though, I liked it, I just didn’t love it like Mr President.

“I notice even our presence anywhere inspires people—gives people hope. The hopeless are hopeless no more. We stand for something. We stand proudly for that something.”

Commander in Chief is the conclusion to Matthew and Charlotte's story. At the end of Mr. President, we were left wondering what the future held next for this couple as Matt wins the election for President.

This books picks up a few months after the conclusion of Mr. President. Matthew is heading for his Inauguration and being sworn in when Charlotte sees him again for the first time after spending a few months abroad with her best friend, Kayla.

Matthew has no first lady, he's not married and his mother doesn't want to fill that role again. She did it the first time around with Matthew's father, until he assassinated during his second term in office. So he does what is the most logical for him, he asks Charlotte. He needs her close to him, and she centers him in a way no one ever has before.

Once again Katy blew me away with the depth she goes to in drawing a complete picture of the life of a President. Everything from how he transitions into the White House to the meetings he holds with his cabinet members, to having to steal time to spend with Charlotte. And also, the detail with which she portrays Charlotte and her finding her footing as the acting First Lady.

Matthew and Charlotte complimented each other perfectly and I truly enjoyed seeing Charlotte come into her own. She matured into a beautiful woman who absolutely loves her country and was willing to sacrifice her own happiness to ensure Matthew stayed focused on his goal of being a successful President who enacted the kind of changes the country needs. And Matthew was very swoon worthy, with his dedication and devotion to Charlotte, his domineering ways in the bedroom but the gentleness and passionate reverence he showed her every single day.

I can't believe I am going to say this, but I felt like there was too much sex in this story. I'm all for reading about hot, steamy sex, but the amount that occurred through the book just seemed overboard. Maybe I'm just jealous that Charlotte was getting all that loving from Matt and I wasn't!

Katy always wows me with her clean and distinctive writing style and I truly enjoy getting lost in her stories. I'm sad to see that this is the end of Matt and Charlotte's story! Hopefully they get to appear in future books so we can see how their lives are going.

Good Lord this book. This book was EVERYTHING. I had goosebumps while reading because I FELT Matthew and Charlotte's connection. It was a visceral reaction I felt deep in my stomach and I just could not stop reading. It was gloriously fantastic and so real that you felt their devotion to each other come right off the pages. Katy Evans completely knocked it out of the park with this one.

Commander in Chief starts off a few months after Matt is elected President. After a whirlwind year on the campaign trail where the Presidential candidate and political Aid fell in love, they decided to part ways for the betterment of the nation, putting their love on the backburner as Matt decided it would be impossible balancing a personal life with a public life as President. But, despite being fresh from a two month sojourn to mend her heart, the minute Charlotte sees "her" President, she realizes she underestimated the need and driving force he has in winning her back.

“I’ll give you time to get used to all this, but I want to make it clear that you’re still mine. You never stopped being mine, and you never will,” he says"

Will he succeed and finally make her his? I was on pins and needles to find out!

Ms. Evans does a fantastic job describing and delving into the emotions Matt and Charlotte had for each other. Her use of dual perspective was such a fantastic tool as it was amazing and enlightening to be in both of their heads to really feel the raw emotions they each had for each other. It was deep unwavering despair when they were separated and unmatched joy when they were together.

There are not enough adjectives I can use that would best describe this book. Katy Evans took you on a fast ride in Mr. President and through all the emotional twists and turns and butterflies and sucker punches, we come into Commander in Chief where it's just smooth sailing. There is an added boon of an underlying mystery and touch of political intrigue that only adds to the richness of the story. In addition, you see and (more importantly) feel Matthew and Charlotte's love and devotion to each other and the country and all you can do is just consume their story with a big smile on your face.

4.5 stars!

I LOVED Mr. President, the first book in the White House series. It was filled with tension, both romantically and politically. Commander in Chief starts out on Inauguration Day, with Matt being sworn into the office of President of the United States. We find out that Charlotte has spent the last 3 months in Europe, trying to avoid Matt and get over him. She returns on Inauguration Day, with a seated invitation to attend the event. Some days later, Matt asks her to be the acting First Lady; he can’t think of anyone else that would be better at the job than Charlotte would. Their relationship kicks back up, and they eventually stop hiding, get married, have babies, etc.

I had really high hopes for this story. I loved watching Charlotte and Matt fall in love in Mr. President. I loved the romantic tension they had throughout the whole story, and also the political side stories. But Commander in Chief fell short for me. Instead of feeling like a continuation of the first story, it felt like a long and unnecessary epilogue. Charlotte and Matt get married at about 50%, and the store goes downhill from there. There’s really nothing to drive the story forward. There’s a small mystery of reopening the murder case of Matt’s father, and finding the shooter, but it’s not prevalent enough in the story to look forward to the resolution. The pacing is also all over the place. One chapter could be the next day, and then you’re reading about the baby being six months old.

Overall, I ended up skimming the second half of this story just to see if anything else exciting happens (it didn’t). If you want some closure on Matt and Charlotte’s relationship, you might enjoy the first half of this story.

What a conclusion to this story. Matt Hamilton has taken office as the new President of the United States. He has everything he's wanted except for the love of his life. He vows that he will be with Charlotte no matter what. He has to find ways to balance being the most powerful man in the world and also making time for his family. He doesn't want to make the same mistakes his father made. I love Matt and Charlotte. They're both so passionate for their beliefs and making the country better and also for each other. She truly loves him for the man he is and the good he can do for their country. So very understanding of the sacrifices that must be made. This was truly a beautiful love story and I loved it so much!
