I enjoy reading novels of this venue. There were several places that statements were repeated, though worded differently, but the plot was good, etc. Looking forward to reading more about the Burnetts

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was messed up that mom lied about her ring being stolen. Though she technically never accused Rose but she let Travis fill in the blanks with Rose in mind . Poor Rose was just trying to make a living. Travis was very harsh with her at times, yet he couldnt stay away

Beautifully written romance story. This author seemed to be able to grab my interest from from the first chapter to the last. I couldn't wait to see how she knitted the characters and plots into the storyline. I'm definitely looking forward to reading the continuing saga of this family.

I really enjoyed this book, yes there is some repetition and we all know how it will end, but I couldn't put it down waiting to get there! I can hardly wait to start the second book but since I couldn't put this one down I will have to wait until the chores are done first.

I loved the storyline for this novel. I loved the characters and all the little thing that made them who they are. However I thought the story was a little bit repetitious in what she talked about and the descriptive vocab was also repetitious.

This book would grab you from the very first moment you start reading it. Rose is the type of women you would keep your good looking son far away from. But somehow you take would take her under your wing and then try to change her so your son would approve of her. I wouldn't change a single thing about her and your son would be proud of the person she's trying to become all by herself. You will love this book and all the characters in it.

The ranchers mother accuses an innocent young woman (Rose) of theft. The mother has decided that Rose is perfect for her son and will do whatever it takes to get these two together. Story is predictable but entertaining.

Rose Severin, AKA Madame Desiree, Voice of the Dead, is thrown in jail by Travis Burnett because he is angry at Rose for taking advantage of his mother, Eugenia, who is using Rose to seek information about her missing son. Eugenia pays Rose's fine and asks her to come to the ranch to stay; which of course Rose refuses because she knows Travis would never allow it; she just wants to leave town. Eugenia has other plans, she likes Rose, she wants grandchildren; so she plots to keep Rose in town by telling Travis she believes Rose stole her wedding ring when she left town. Furious, Travis hunts down Rose and brings her back and tells her she will stay at the ranch, all under his conditions, until she returns his mother's ring. Rose pleads that she is innocent numerous times, he does start to wonder later if she could be telling the truth and what if he has kidnapped an innocent woman; but then he convinces himself he cqn't be wrong about her conniving character. All the time, Eugenia keeps throwing the two closer together as much as possible.

Enjoyable start to the brothers series, can't wait to start on the next brother. Is it Tanner or Tucker whose next? Travis and Rose made me laugh and cry, I am sure that the next two books will be just as good.

I have always been spirited and did as I pleased, so rose became personal to me. I thought this was well written with a good story line. Held my interest until the very end. Worth reading for sure.
