The main character in this book is Scotland. It was like a love letter to this magical place. The storied history of Scotland was captured in this telling of Alistair's and Mary's love. A tumultuous tale of chance meetings that map out your life's journey. A fight to keep what you love and believe in. It was a wonderful stroll through history and a love like no other. This is a romance fan's dream story.

I enjoyed the story line, however it would have been better had the author stayed true to the language of the time period. I would be reading and all of a sudden there were modern words and phrases, that would have never been used at the time of the story . I'm not a writer but I've only seen this a few times . I'm trying to be picky, but for me it interrupted the flow of the story.

This book was fantastic, I enjoyed everything about it. For lovers of the Outlander series this is a book in that style. I loved all of the characters and the fact that the language and style of speech was authentic. I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone who loves all things Scottish. I would love to see more books that include some of the same characters and continuation of their stories. Love love this book!!

I absolutely loved this book! I really enjoyed the character development and the way their relationship progressed. I loved Mary and Alistair and the supporting characters as well. I won’t give anything away but just when you think things will go a certain way, they don’t! Alisa is a master and not making it too easy to figure out and that made the book very hard to put down! I felt what the characters felt. That’s how I know I’ve found an author to follow forever! This is a must read!
I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review! I can’t say enough good things about this book and Alisa Adams! You have a fan for life!

I would highly recommend this author. She writes excellent. Characters. They draw you in. There is humor and other emotions that make the characters come life. And it's not x rated. Which I really like.

Often times, medievil novels can be dry and uninteresting. Not so with Alisa Adams "Highlanders Stolen Wife". The story speaks to the females of this time including being subservient to their fathers and to their husbands in matters of marriage and life decisions. Lady Mary, daughter of the Lord Leighton, has been betrothed to an Earl she has never met. Enroute to be married to man she believes to be old and fat, her Father's plans take a deadly turn sending Mary to a new land and a new life. Adams offers vivid descriptions of the Scotland countryside, Scottish customs and life in the1300's. Woven around the budding yet forbidden relationship between Mary and her captor, Alistar, the only son of Laird of Clan MacLeod of Wallis, this proved to be a fast and easy read with enough suspense and romance to keep you interested to through the epilogue. Slainte!

I enjoy the authors story. But I was disappointed that some of the writing was
copycat to the last book I read. I have never had this happen when I have read multiple books from the same author before. Reading the beginning of the next book leads me to believe this will be the same in this book as well.
The story line is different enough though.
I will read more from Ms. Adams and hopefully this won't be a pattern in her writing. I can't understand why the publisher thought this was acceptable either.

This story has interesting characters and beautiful scenery. Some of the scenes did not make sense to me, and I can't figure out how Mary could marry Alistair when she was already married. The dialogue between clansman is funny and very entertaining. I read the extended epilogue which did not seem to fit.

Loved it! I have a love/hate thing with medieval Highlanders: Too much of politics and sad history I just can't handle. But action within clans, good! This was an enjoyable story, lots of medieval details, which I loved. Good book, worth reading! I liked the characters, the action.

I was instantly transformed to the Highlands and totally in the era and realm. So much culture and personalities to adhere with. I couldn’t put the book down and thoroughly enjoyed every moment plus the many details of the areas. I love this author’s writing and her true passion transcends you to the book’s world...

Sounded like it would be interesting but was just awful. Please read what you write to catch blatant discrepancies. Names mixed up, physical attributes changed and many other avoidable errors. She could not decide if she was an immature twelve year old or a tramp. He was worse. Definitely not hero material. Wasted half a day trying to wade through their mood changes and decipher the supposedly "authentic" accents and dialogues. Lots of description of foods and landscapes but trying to follow a conversation was a nightmare. Will not read any similar books. Sorry. Really wanted to like it.

I chose this reading because I loved the characters the plot and the writing. I've never read anything from this author so I didn't know what to expect considering it's a Kindle unlimited book. Which is known for not being the best of romance novels. I would recommend this book to anyone.

Truly enjoyed this book. Douglas, the laird falls in love with Alisa from the moment he saw her. It took awhile for her to return his love. But when he is captured by the English she risks her life to save him. Their love turns into one in a lifetime love.

Alisa Adams has come out of the box swinging! Her first novel takes the reader on a journey from the English borderlands to the Highlands of Scotland as we become enraptured in the tale of Mary & Alastair. An English lady bound to marry on old fat earl; a Scottish second son just moved to first at the death of his older brother at the hands of the English at the Battle of Stanhope. Can these two enemies find love despite every obstacle thrown at them? A well rounded story with outstanding secondary characters, subplots, and an ending to melt your heart, A Highlander’s Stolen Wife is an enjoyable read for a cold afternoon! Thank you, Ms. Adams, for allowing me to read a preview copy in exchange for a review! I eagerly await your next venture!

The story of Alistair and Mary is exciting as she is an English woman kidnapped by a future Scottish Laird. The couple fall in love and Alistair takes Mary home to ask her father for her hand. He never gets the chance as he is thrown in the dungeon, as Mary's father has betrothed her to someone else. Its a good story with humor along the way and some steamy sex scenes too. I very much enjoyed it. This is my First Alisa Adams book, but won't be my last...

This was a really good book. I love reading books about Scotland and Highlanders in particular. I got a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review and once I started reading I could not put it down. I very much liked Mary and how strong she is in her personality which was such a contrast to her insipid sister. Kind of reminds me of my own personality contrasts with my twin sister. I was worried while reading that this would be a book that did not have a HEA. There are romances out there that leave it off at a contentment ending and not a HEA. However, this book is not one of them though you do have a few questions at the end I think it leaves the opening for a continued series.

I enjoyed this story because of the way the characters are able to see beyond the hate and fighting between the English and Scottish people. Was the marriage of Mary and Alastair valid since she had already married the English Lord? Just a question ?
