This book is worth every cent. Alexis gets it - the challenge of being a young woman with a lot of ambition in a world that makes it hard to stay centered. This book is exactly what I needed after this election.

Someone told me that as they were reading this book, all they could think about was me as I am kind of at a standstill in life right now trying to figure myself out. They recommended I read it. So I started it and it made me feel even worse about myself. It pretty much made me feel like a big fat giant loser face with no dreams or aspirations or chance of becoming anything or doing anything with my life. I read about 33% of it according to my Kindle and I stopped. Maybe it gets better...but it wasn't for me.

It is missing a whole entire chunk. The book jumps from page 154 to 250. Sad about this because the book itself was good, I'm curious if this was a printing issue or if everyone has dealt with this? Just beware when ordering.

This book was very inspiring and I believe every woman could relate to some, if not all, of this book. I would even consider it to now be my “woman’s bible” as I have so many quotes/sections marked, highlighted, and dogeared that spoke out to me the most, so I can continue to refer back to them. Alexis does an amazing job of carrying you through this book, along with countless stories and quotes from so many different kinds of relatable women who have been there-done that, and can offer a piece of their wisdom and advice. Although Alexis’s work was well done and encouraging, I found the most inspiration in the women’s stories of their real life experiences.
I think that this book is definitely 5 star material, but I took off a start because I did feel like the second half of the book was dragging. Other than the changing guest speaker entries, I felt a lot of the motivational words of encouragement in between was starting to feel repeated by the end of the book. Sometimes you can have too much of a good thing.
I took so many positive things from reading this book and truthfully learned a little more about myself along the way. It’s all around a top choice of you’re looking for something to help you feel like a super badass who can conquer anything.

Hard to take advice from a millennial about life when I had to work/scholarship/student loan/Pell grant. I am a boomer kid-and as much as I may admire this book - she has had opportunities that us normal people without luck and TV have granted us. Sorry I bought it for a boomer friend of mine as well...

Whether female or male this important book can help many to improve their position in life. First, we all need to understand that once we turn eighteen years old, the time has ended to blame others for our failures. The time has come to be an adult and accept responsibility for our own destiny. Second, we must learn to "redirect" the voice in our heads toward a more positive vision and better habits. This well-written book will help many achieve these ends through sound advice and interesting dialog. "It's how ya think that makes ya swim or sink."

I loved this book. Alexis reaches deep in our souls of girls who have struggled and want to find their passion. I have dealt with mean girls, gossip and I'm an adult this book taught me how to be me no matter what the situation.
I also love my day job but want to do more and this book was just wanted I needed for a push.

This book is very inspirational and motivational. Some of the topics in the book were common sense, but I think that sometimes we need reminders of these topics. I also really enjoyed that the book promoted empowering and supporting other women.

This book was amazing! It actually evoked tears at certain points - some for the stories that were shared and some for myself realizing how badly I've treated myself and not lived up to the person I want to be. It was eye-opening, empowering and exactly what I needed to hear.

Great book. Teaches a lot about self love and confidence. Encourages you to chase your dreams and remember that you're capable of anything if you're willing to try. I would recommend this book to any woman doubting her self worth.

Full disclosure, I have not read this. I felt the need to leave a comment because part of the title, "how to speak your truth" caught my eye as I was scrolling. There is NO. SUCH. THING. as "personal truth." The truth is not relative. There is THE truth, and there is your opinion. Anyone who swallows the idea of speaking their own truth needs further education.
