I thought it was a really sweet and touching story. You can see that Lily has grown up and become a good momma, sister, daughter and business woman (it was great to see!) and Tucker was just adorable!

Crazy on you by Gibson_ Rachel
Story starts out with a woman who runs her own hair salon, lives next door to her mother and she is raising her 10 year old son.
He's obsessed with playing basketball to get good enough so his father will attend his games.
Story also follows the new police man in town who lives next door to them and he's got his own obsession.
Like how he helps the boy with his game and techniques. He also takes on her showing up in unsuspecting places.
Hot steamy sex scenes for this short story set in TX.
I received this book from National Library Service fo my BARD (Braille Audio Reading Device).

This ebook novella by author Rachel Gibson is a fun, sexy read! Rachel Gibson delivers a great story that grabs you from the get-go. At first I did not pay attention to the fact that this was a novella; I am a fan of Rachel Gibson’s books and so when I saw Crazy on You, I pre-ordered it for my Kindle.

The story takes off fast and at first that sort of startled me; I was used to a slower build up from her previous books. But from the first time Lily Darlington meets Tucker Matthews, sparks fly and you can feel the sexual tension. Both of these characters have fairly traumatic pasts to overcome – for Lily, it’s her ‘crazy’ reputation but for Tucker, it’s much deeper. He’s dealing with a lifetime of neglect and not belonging and when he sees Lily and how she interacts with her own son, he sees that as something he wants for himself.

Though only 80 pages, you really get to know these characters and get involved with their story without feeling rushed or like you are missing anything. If you are looking for a fast read that spicy, look no further that Crazy On You. Rachel Gibson gives us realistic characters that you feel like you could sit and have a cup of coffee with.

This novella was definitely a fun read, very quick, and Rachel Gibson is able to do this because she has a strong background of published romances to back it up. I think it was a fun way to get readers skied up to read the next full length book coming out based in the town of Lovitt, Texas. I just think because of the length the story was not as fully developed as it could have been. I really liked the characters in this story and I would have really enjoyed to dig deep and read an entire novel of their passion, chemistry, conflict, and resolution. Rachel's best qualities in her romances are the characters, they are always strong, so for this one I wanted to see more of them, I wasn't done yet! Definitely a fun and worthwhile read, and a good idea is to read this before Rescue Me.

Rachel Gibson is one of my ABSOLUTE favorite authors and the main reason why my blog isn't YA only. When I first started to get into reading again 5 years ago, the first book I read was Rachel Gibson's Truly, Madly Yours. From then on, I knew that Rachel would be on my MUST-read list and I rediscovered my love for books. To this day, Truly, Madly Yours is still my favorite book of all time. I've read it 7 times so far and it seems like it gets better each time!

I'm always hounding the store and Goodreads to see what books she has coming out next. I was ecstatic when I found out that Rachel was going to release an e-book novella and re-vist Lily, one of the memorable character's in one of her older books-Daisy's Back In Town. Who could forget Lily Darlington who was a little unstable and ran her car into her ex (that rat bastard!) Ronnie's living room. Years later, Lily is not so crazy anymore. She is a single mother, raising her 10-year old son Pippen and she has her own successful spa company. But no matter how much she has changed, people in Lovett can't seem to forget or stop talking about Lily and her wild past.

On her way home, Lily ends up being pulled over by deputy Tucker Matthews for speeding. Tucker is immediately drawn to Lily, her sharp and witty attitude and her curvy body. Turns out Tucker is also Lily's new neighbor. When Tucker and her son start bonding over basketball, Tucker is more attracted to Lily once he realizes how much she loves her son, which is a big deal to someone like him who was raised in the foster care system. He makes it clear to Lily that he is attracted to her, and when it comes to him, Lily can't seem to keep her distance. After some hot and steamy hookups, Tucker makes it clear to Lily that he wants a real relationship. But Lily is scared and wants to keep their relationship a secret. Will she be able to trust her heart and let herself fall crazy in love with Tucker?

Rachel Gibson writes romance books like no other! I would honestly read anything that she writes. Which each new book that comes out, Rachel's writing gets a little more hot and bolder which I have no problem with. Even though I have read every single book by her, every story is unique and special and never repetitive. I also LOVE that she somehow finds a way to weave her old and new characters together. In this story, we briefly meet Sadie Hollowell, who is the lead in her next full-length novel-Rescue Me-and Vince Haven, who was Autumn's brother in Any Man of Mine. I can't wait to read more about them in Rescue Me and I hope that she keeps writing more novellas. Crazy On You is a short but HOT novella, definitely left me craving for more!

4.5 out of 5 sparkly stars!

Some of my favorite non-spoiler quotes from Crazy On You:

-Holy Jesus. He was having crazy sex dreams and lusting after a crazy woman. A woman who'd possibly tried to kill her ex by running her car into his house and had almost been locked up on a 5150 hold. That piece of info should be enough to shrivel his nuts, but it didn't.

-His hands slid to her back, his fingers brushing her bare skin above her tank top. This had to stop, but she didn't want it to. Not now. Now she wanted more. This was crazy. She was crazy. As crazy as everyone said. Crazy Lily lusting after her neighbor and she didn't seem to care. He'd ignited something in her she hadn't felt in a long time. Crazy, consuming lust.

-She took a deep breath and let it out, checking herself. She felt okay. Still not feeling crazy. Okay, maybe a tiny bit, but not enough to drive her car through someone's house crazy. That was crazy. Destructive crazy, and she wasn't that Lily anymore.

It baffles when when an author you really enjoy suddenly starts cranking out books that are so bland. The new cop in town spends a total of half an hour max with his neighbor over four separate occasions and is totally in love with her. There is no rationale behind this life changing emotion and the only bump along the way is whether Lily, a 38 year old single mom is ready to make a commitment in 8 weeks or under. Ho him.

Tossing in a couple of steamy scenes does cure the lack of plot or character development.

First thought when finished: I think I would have liked it better had I read the whole series instead of just the novella.

Short Review for a short book: I am going to be honest and say that this novella just didn't work for me. I didn't realize it was part of a series (which I actually think I would love) so I missed the character development of Lily. I think if I had that I would have liked the novella more but there just wasn't enough in there for me to make a character connection to her or Tucker.

I think if you are a fan of the series this novella will work for you. I was reading other people's reviews that knew Lily from before and they loved it. Please take that into consideration. Now I am off to get more of these books because I really did like Rachel Gibson's writing!

Final Thought: Don't read Crazy on You as a stand alone but don't skip it if you read the series!(

He lowered his face and her breath rushed out.
"What are you doing?" She murmured as his warm mouth skimmed her jaw. "I don't think this is a good idea."
"Then don't think." His warm breath spread across her skin. "I know I have a hard time thinking when I'm near you." He kissed her just beneath her ear.
"Don't say that."
"Why?"
"You don't know me."
"Let's change that."

Lily Darlington has finally gotten her life on track. She's living down the 'Crazy' reputation she'd gained when she'd driven her car into her ex-husbands house and was starting to earn some respect. She'd done a 180 and was turning her life around. She's now the owner of a spa, owns her own home, and has a loving son for whom she'd do anything. Things are finally starting to go her way. The only thing she's missing is a man, not that she's necessarily looking. She's been there, done that, and didn't like the ending. Contrary to what Disney would have us believe, life doesn't always have a 'and they lived happily ever after' fairy tale ending. Sometimes in life, however, it's when you're least expecting it, that you get what you need...

Tucker Matthews just got out of the military and is now working as a deputy for Potter County. He's young, but didn't have an easy life. He's more mature than his years, and when he sees what he wants, he goes after it. Never really having had a family life of his own, he's looking to settle down and set roots. He sees something special in Lily that makes him think he may just have found that special someone to make a home with. Now he just needs to convince her.

------------------------------------------------------

This was a fun and lighthearted novella that put a smile on my face. I loved how Lily hesitated to have a relationship with Tucker because she didn't want to be the talk of the town. She'd already walked in those shoes and didn't want her son to bear the brunt of anything she did. Let's face it who'd want their mama being known as Crazy Lily Darlington? When you're a single mom, dating doesn't just affect you and the other person in the relationship. You need to take into account how your children will be affected too.

Tucker is a no nonsense type of guy. He tells it to you straight and let the cards fall where they may. He is extremely attracted to Lily and lets her know it right from the start. He's wearing his heart on his sleeve and hoping Lily is the woman he thinks she is, and that she'll take a chance on a crazy little thing called love.

Where does the novella get its name? I believe it's from this passage:
"I don't care what people say." He pressed a quick kiss to her lips. "Just as long as I get to go crazy on you."

Overall, this one gets a 4 out of 5 roses. I wish it could have been longer and the romance could have gone a little slower, but it can't be helped when you're dealing with a novella. I felt this is a good way to get a sample of Ms. Gibson's style of writing. It's the first book I've read by her, but it won't be my last. On the Lisarenee Romance Rating Scale, it earned a STEAM rating--too hot for a fan, but you still have a handle on things. You should use extreme caution when reading a book with this rating in public. People may inquire as to why you looked flustered and flushed.

FYI, this short story ties in with Ms. Gibson's 'Daisy's Back in Town' novel. Lily is Daisy's sister. The series will continue on with Gibson's next book, 'Rescue Me' which will also be based in Lovett, Texas (hence the series name). 'Rescue Me' comes out on May 29th and will be a full length book and will feature Sadie Hollowell.

Crazy Lily Darlington isn't crazy, at least not these days. Sure, she might have driven her Taurus through her rat bastard ex's house and danced on a few tables in her time, but now she's 38 years old, a respectable business owner, and taking care of her ten year old son is her top priority.

Lily has done well keeping her name out of the small town gossip, that is until Tucker Matthews moves in next door. He's young, sexy and the new deputy sheriff. And he wants Lily in every way possible. But can she give her body and heart to the man, without going crazy all over again?

Short and sweet with just a hint of spice, Crazy on You is a fun romp around Lovett, Texas and a chance to catch up with the endearing, quirky cast that calls it home.

A fun, quick, little romance story to read. It gives you a bit more of the story some years later about Lily Belle, Daisy Lee's, younger sister. Finding her own little bit of happiness after such a bit of a crazy past. : )

This made for a decent short romantic read. It had an insta-love feel to it but still managed to be a quick and cute read with a touch of humor and passion. I liked that the heroine was 38 and the hero 30.

This entire book just felt like a cheaply written romance novel.

Plus, the views expressed in the books were somewhat closed minded and not progressive at all.

So glad it was just a library rental.

Crazy on You is ok, but it is surprisingly short. I won't bother reading it more than once, there is nothing to go back for. I really like Rachel Gibson's books normally. This is not one of the good ones.

I have read several Rachel Gibson books and enjoyed them all so I felt fine pre-ordering this one - what a mistake. This book was terrible. The "plot" was unbelievable and I didn't care for the characters at all. I am sorry I wasted my money on this disappointment.
