The details in these stories are beyond belief. The things you will learn from reading them will serve you well if there is ever a zombie apocolypse and we have to learn to build houses without nails...I'm just saying. My daughters who are young, loved hearing the adventures that this family had it is something we will read again and again!

The box fell apart instantly. The books we read and reread, and they were / are great. Not a lot of pictures, but enough, and they are quite good. It's interesting to read about peoples' lives in what was both a simpler and more difficult time. Box aside, we recommend.

Love watching and reading "Little House on the Prarie". I still have a few to get to complete my collection but I will get them. A must have series for any personal library. You are never too old for this.

My youngest daughter got into "laura books" in school and wanted her own collection. I picked these up for her last Christmas and she loved them. She's poured through them several times and loves to tell us all of the stories she's read. I'm just glad she's reading instead of "texting" all day like her older sister!

I bought this set for my daughter for Christmas. She is 10. I spent the extra money to get the illustrations and it was well worth it. The books are fun to read together and the pictures make them even more fun.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book from beginning to end. In this installment, the 4th of the 9 books by Laura Ingalls Wilder, the Ingalls family move to Minnesota in their covered wagon. They start their new life in a sod house, a dugout, that was hollowed out of a small hill under the dirt road that leads to town by Mr. Hanson, who lives in town. And so goes the family adventures for a while until Pa is able to build a real house made of wood the family moves into. Laura and Mary finally attend school and the family has some good times. But they also endured tough times with a bad blizzard and a horrible locust plaque as well. I found it hard to put this book down as the story was so captivating. The inside cover says this book is for ages 8-12 but I'm 60 and I loved it! Anyone at any age will enjoy reading this book and any of the other 8 books by Laura Ingalls Wilder. I've also read The Long Winter and that one is another 5 star gem. I plan on reading all of Laura's books and saving every one of them as keepsakes.

I intend to eventually mount up to buying the WHOLE Little House on the Prairie Series so being able to find them on the store.com is definitely worth money :) And considering I first found The Long Winter and THEN These Happy Golden Years well needless to say I was VERY happy to find two more of the books :)

I have enjoyed reading these books to my children and now will start with the grandchildren. I would recommend this set of books to anyone who has children or grandchildren. This set of books shows how life was back in the 1800's and how it changed over the years.

These are beautiful books. Beautiful glossy bright heavy weight paper. And I love the color illustrations! Can't wait to start reading these to my five year old. I wish they made the color books in more than just these 5!

My great grandson who is 8 had recently been introduced to the Little House books by his teacher who was reading them to him. He kept talking about them so I ordered the set for Christmas. When he opened the gift at Christmas his eyes lit up. The books are very nice and just right for an 8 year old who loves to read. I especially liked the fact that Farmer Boy was included in the collection.

I ordered it for my granddaughter. She is 13 and has autism. She and her dad read some from a book each night before she goes to bed. She loves the Little House Stories. He tells me the pictures are very nice also. Thanks!

I read these books from the Laura series to three of my younger children (6, 9, and 11) most evenings at bedtime. They love the stories, the very descriptive wordings, and the adventure and sometimes suspense. Would definitely recommend it!
