Trying to find ingredients to make "Peaceful Dreams" tea turns out not to be a "simple thing"! Actually not many places in Houston that sell blend-your-own-tea ingredients. We had a place 4 blocks from our house - but it closed last year.

Good reminders for living a simple, minimal, and cozy lifestyle. I really enjoyed this book. It was short and sweet. It was kind of basic and included a lot of things I already knew, but also had quite a bit to offer that I didn't know. I knew nothing about the Danish "hygge" before and this was very informative on it.

The Danish concept of hygge raises self-care to an artform and makes it seem like a cultural norm, something that happens as naturally as breathing. Pia Edberg offers practical tips and advice we can all use to organize our live, our homes, and ourselves in a way that puts comfort first so we can express our care for ourselves and for each other in an easy-going way. I had never heard of hygge before, but love the idea! The ideas in the book were explained clearly which will make them easy to implement in whole or in part. I especially love the inclusion of recipes and craft projects at the end to make it that much more convenient to to try some of the ideas right away. That was a very hygge thing to do! I can't help but try to imagine a world where everyone incorporates a little hygge into their own lives. It would be a wonderful, comfortable, considerate place for sure!

This book was very helpful. It's December in Alaska and tomorrow is the shortest day of winter. I'm sitting by the fire with a coffee and my cozy blanket reading about siting by the fire with a cozy blanket. Perfect!

My mother's family is Scandinavian and I have loved ones with SAD -- this concept is very nurturing especially in the winter. Though jugge is a year roundthing and this encouraging little book makes me appreciate what I have in my life.

The Cosy Life: Rediscover the Joy of the Simple things through the Danish concept of Hygge by Pia Edberg is somewhat Hygge itself. The book explains the different meanings of hygge and how to implement the concept into your lifestyle, work and wellbeing. Tradition, hominess, cosy, and simplicity are all words to describe the feeling of hygge and the writer displays these in her writing style. There are no sharp edges, no must-do things to follow just a warm, encouraging book on how to incorporate hygge for a slower, simpler more authentic life. I enjoyed reading the book and loved recalling some of my own hygge family traditions in both my childhood and adult life. The problem I have is that being a Danish concept, the practical suggestions focus on a northern hemisphere lifestyle, all snuggly warm, mulled wine and fire light. I will have to be creative to incorporate hygge into my tropical Queensland (Aust) lifestyle! Seriously, the focus is on slowing down, rediscovering our childhood memories, having a simpler, less busy, less materialistic lifestyle and creating new hygge traditions and memories for our families to carry forward. And that can be achieved anywhere.

Such a wonderful book! I felt "cozy" the entire time I was reading it. I had read the studies about Denmark being so happy and never knew why until now. It's true that the best things in life are free and the "The Cozy Life" is a great reminder. It also has great practical applications along with Danish recipes. I can't wait to do the 30-day challenge with my girlfriends!

I really enjoyed this book! Recently, since returning from doing a pilgrimage, I have given more thought to what it means to be home, and what defines home. The concept of hygge really resonates with me, as I think it can elevate the quality of our lives. The book does a great job in describing what life can be like when you bring hygge into your home, and relationships. The author also did a good job at giving some examples that one might apply to their life. So seemingly simple, yet potentially transformative. I can't wait to go home and get started!

What a thoroughly delightful and refreshing book. I enjoyed this introduction to the concept of Hygge, a Danish cozy lifestyle. For me this book was like a breath of fresh air - from the words, to the hand drawn illustrations, the descriptions and ideas on how to incorporate Hygge not only into decorating my home, but also in creating a cozy lifestyle.
Reading this book motivated me to take another look at my belongings (and my priorities too!) and how I could keep what I love and find ways to create a cozy feeling in my home.

I, like the author, had embraced minimalism but found my house empty and my life the same. I had lost the concept that this book discusses along with my stuff. Adding this concept of cozy, simple, enjoyable, and happy back in has made all the difference. A short but very thorough look at this idea. Even has a 30 day idea chart to try in the back. I highly recommend it.

This is a short, self-published book, written in an engaging style. There's really nothing here you can't find on the internet by doing a search on the word "hygge," but if you want it all in one place, this book collects it in a coherent fashion. It's an extremely fast, very light read.

Living your life deliberately seeking out the simple joys within your reach is the basic message in ths delightful little book. The principle of 'hygge' is explained with many practical examples, this is a book to keep at hand to remind every one of us to life as well as we can without too many physical 'things' or too many false impressions. These Danes have such good ideas despite their challenging climate.

I loved all the cultural references and the actual way they introduce this hygge concept into their lives. Some ideas are really easy to implement and to use in our not so scandinavian city meanwhile others are simply impossible to achieve, at least for me.
I had a good time reading it
