Weight of glory is like most CSLewis writings in that it reveals unparalleled Christian insight and a depth of wisdom beyond anything usually experienced. He is criticized only by minds much smaller than his.

READING C.S. LEWIS IS LIKE CARRYING AROUND A BUCKET FULL OF WATER. HE IS HEAVY! HOWEVER, WHEN YOU BEGIN TO SEE THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA...YOU BEGIN TO GRASP THE SENSE OF WHAT HE IS SAYING...AND HOW ENLIGHTENED YOU WILL BE...

Without doubt, one of the most explosive, thought provoking, conscience stirring piece of Christian writing I have ever read. CS Lewis has this uncanny ability to mix arts and science, to allow his emotions to flow and yet at the same time able to express it precisely. He is able to paint like an artist, whilst at the same time write as a learned professor. A must read for all !!

This particular book is filled with essays and sermons Lewis has written throughout his life. The intended audience for this book is for people who are pursuing their faith in Christ and/or those who just want to learn more about being a Christian. The purpose is to get the reader to think and understand about some concepts they may not have understood before. His references range from the bible, to other authors and their writings. He also uses great examples to show us what he means and why it is right. Sometimes his arguments can be proven, but other times they just need to be believed. If one is struggling to believe, this may not be the book to help them. It will just help someone to understand. But understanding can be difficult with his writing at times. Lewis can get really in depth and that can be challenging. Some of his ideas or comments were passed my understanding at times; I was not able to get everything he was saying. Fortunately, I was able to understand most of it. Something I got the most out of Lewis' sermons was just an understanding of who God is. He taught us how He works, forgives, loves, etc. they were extremely effective because as a Christian I strive to understand God more. His style will really only be accessible to those who want to learn more about God; If one doesn't believe in God or doesn't care for Him, they will not have any interest in this book. One might still learn something, but without caring, they will not get anything out of it in the end.
