A New Approach to Faith - and Spiritual Freedom
A New Approach to Faith - and Spiritual Freedom

Review:Upon receiving my book i was hesitant about reading it. Though I am a Christian I have never practiced fasting, and inn this book Stoval really hits the subject hard. He explains so much that I now understand the general concept, however I must admit I did not fast nor do I long do to it...........by myself. I feel that it would have a greater impact if it were a group effort with support and accountability.

Yet it is not all about fasting, it is totally about awakening, awakening your sp... Read more

The Bondage Breaker
The Bondage Breaker

Review:Every Sunday I looked forward to going to church with my mother. I'd wear nifty clothes and matched them up with my favorite accessories: shoes and handbags. I'd look and feel good, ready to devote an hour and a half to God. Then -- bam! -- something happened, something very small and meaningless, almost imperceptive, that put me in a foul mood. I became cranky to the point that I was inexplicably angry, all kinds of dark thoughts entering my head. Which begged the question: why. Why was I... Read more

Review:Beautiful copy, and I just love C.S. Lewis. I have really used his academic writing more in the past couple of years while finishing a degree in English. I focus on Medieval literature, and his wisdom and knowledge in that area have been priceless to me. Read more

The Definitive Book on Letting Go of Unhealthy Relationships
The Definitive Book on Letting Go of Unhealthy Relationships

Review:I picked up this book at a used book sale hoping it would provide some new insights into my codependent family. I somehow missed the fact that it was going to point everything back to the authors' religious beliefs. There was a lot of great information in the first half or so of the book, but the closer I got to the end of it, the more they harped on using Christian beliefs as a tool in the recovery process. For those who are Christians, I'm sure this is a very helpful approach... but I had a pr... Read more

Stories of Hope and Healing - What Difference Do It Make?
Stories of Hope and Healing - What Difference Do It Make?

Review:When I started reading this book it was at the end of a long hard day after work, one of those days where I am blessed to have a job, but when I also wonder if what I'm doing is worth some of the not so blessed drama I go through. I work at a non-profit agency where its my job to assist people on public assistance find gainful employment, so in my position I hear all kinds of tales of woe and there are times (more than not) lately when I find myself becoming desensitized to the plights of my fel... How to Find Your Voice and Reclaim Your Hope - The Emotionally Destructive Marriage

Review:This book is very thorough and must be read through slowly or gone back through, probably more then once to get full benefit from the advise given. It is spot on that both parties must be willing to change their behaviors to be successfully improve their marriage.
It is Biblically based but doesn't give the pat response that a wife must stay in an emotionally abusive relationship if the husband hasn't been physically unfaithful.
Her advise is based on over 30 years as a counselor and it ... Read more
