The first books of Star Force and the Undying Mercenaries series are better than this new series. It repeats many of the same themes only with different characters and slightly different tech. I did not see really any new direction or plots in this series. This book would be good for teens. There are some situations were sex is discussed and happens but it is very Bland and could be shown on TV. The book ended with a setup for follow on stories. I will try another story but really want the story to improve .

Did I miss something? Was this a Young Adult offering? The story line, in general, was fine, the dialogue was juvenile. And I am trying to be kind. I get that 'being in the head' of the main character is an advantage of reading but the main characters inside thoughts were hopelessly mush.
I didn't write this on the first book, and unfortunately, I've read both. I used to say that I had read more than two thousand sci-fi books and had only been disappointed once....now I have to say, three times. I expected better.
