A thoroughly thrilling, fun read, a real page klicker (since I read on my Kindle). I hope Vaughn follows up with the 8th book of the Lost Starship series to see how Captain Maddox, his crew and the Star Watch will handle the Swarm and the New Man.

The characters are evolving further here, and come alive as their emotions are bared more than before. An entertaining and thrilling read. Hope we will get answers to some of the many unsolved mysteries in the next book

I've been reading science fiction for over three decades, yet Heppner is consistently original. The writing format is also excellent and never awkward ( if you've ever read from a new author, you know what I mean). The plot evolves in unpredictable directions over seven novels. I don't know how he did it but I am looking forward to more!

Another excellent installment with hero of hero's Captain Maddox and his team. Swashbuckling his way to save humanity and dealing with his own demons, Maddox thwarts the Swarm and an even darker ancient creature. Can't wait to read more !

Really enjoyed the story. Hope to see the series continue. Would like to see the characters in an exploration and discovery themed story without a cataclysmic event requiring a tool. A subsequent book could then leverage some of the elements.
