Jeff Carson did it again. A very, very good story about David Wolf and the other people in the book who are now favorites for me. I must say though that the last 25% of the book was the best part for me.

Have read all eleven David Wolf novels by Jeff Carson. I gave the first ten books a 4 or 5 star. I see by the reviews everyone thought this book was great. Sorry, it was the worst story line yet. Don't know what to say about where the character David Wolf is going, just way over the top.

Two days before his wedding to Lauren Coulter, Wolf receives word that an unconscious woman has been recovered from a car crash. She has numerous wounds and is suffering from head trauma. When he learns her identity, Wolf knows he has to find out what happened to Special Agent Kristen Luke. After all the times Luke has come his rescue, Wolf is torn between the two most important women in his life. Lauren is understanding and offers her blessing for him to leave, and Wolf makes a solemn promise he will be back in time for their wedding.

It's not long before Wolf and Luke are caught up in a web of lies, deceit, and ruthless gangs of the Pacific Northwest. As the story continues, it becomes obvious that someone in the FBI has changed sides and is at the root of a very deadly game. Just as with all the previous novels, Wolf is loyal to a fault and unwilling to back down, especially to defeat. Even while the clock ticks away the time to his wedding day, Wolf is fighting for both his and Luke's lives. In addition, Wolf realizes he's drawn to Luke. All the reader can do is simply keep turning pages.
16 Book Set of Joe Pickett by C.J. Box (1-15 in Series) also Includes (Shots Fired :: Back of Beyond: A Novel (Highway Quartet) :: THE HIGHWAY: A Novel :: Nowhere to Run (A Joe Pickett Novel) :: Paradise Valley: A Highway Novel (Highway Quartet)

Jeff Carson tackles hard issues in his books and David Wolf goes all out for "doing the right thing"often at his own expense. Rain was full of unexpected twists and turns. I had a hard time putting my Kindle down to go to work. We all need to learn to listen to ourselves, our hunches and feelings that something is just not right. And then we need to act. The plight of the victims of human trafficing is real and chilling. I am thankful that Jeff Carson tackled it. Hopefully this book will help to show us that we can do something about it. Ask questions. Observe. And read all the other David Wolf books.

He leaves Lauren at the altar and even though its a good thing he did, I'm mad that the story ends the way it does. The plot is kind of convoluted. There’s one part where Wolf, the FBI, and Luke go back to a murder scene. The chapter ends abruptly and there isn’t a clear reason why the next chapter goes the direction it does. Given that plot point, it’s also not clear why Wolf agrees to leave. Other than that, and my difficulty following Wolf’s trek up and down a mountain, it’s vintage Wolf.

This is the 11th installment of the David Wolf series. The plot line is mildly interesting, but it is starting to get old. The main character is the tragic Greek hero, who gets close to the Grand Prize, but never quite gets there. But alas, he has his good friend alcohol to drink away his sorrows. The fictitious town of Rocky Points must have the best alcohol store in the entire state, since essentially the entire cast of characters goes on benders pretty much every time. After 11 books the words trudging, plodding, come to mind, like life in the Rocky Points sheriff’s department is an endless series of never-ending mishaps, critical to keep the plot line going. Should be fewer stars, but the author has some interesting story lines, which could be told in probably half the pages.

Ok we love this thriller with the Chinese gang and all the other stuff we can't mention so we don't spoil it for others. But this one was too easy to solve not like the rest of the thriller thst had ys on the edge of our seats trying for much longer to figure out the bad guys. This one we new from just after we heard about the problem. And I'm getting tired of the kind hearted loving man who always ends up alone despite all the beautiful talented women that fall in love, then leave him.

Jeff Carson deserves far more acclaim than he receives for this well constructed series. Unlike some of the big name authors who write about former SF types getting older but still doing great things- David Wolf is getting aging in a believable way - but still a dangerous man and a force that cannot be ignored.

Another strong story, with characters who are quirky and interesting and superb pacing- Rain will leave you waiting to see what life throws at David Wolf next!

Still bingeing on this long list of volumes covering about 6 or seven years of Wolf tales. I especially liked this one: fast paced, twisty, lots of action toward the end. Finally Luke gets help from Wolf when she needs it most, ultimately costing the MC his marriage.
Didn't like the ending, can see the depression/alcoholism coming. Wolf gave up on Lauren too easily. Way too easily.

Exciting and complex. Carson never fails to satisfy, and this is another outstanding addition to the series. About to marry the woman he loves, David Wolf discovers former lover Kristen Luke is in trouble, and he can't turn his back on a friend. What follows is a tense and complicated search for the truth as the moment for the wedding approaches. Readers of the series will enjoy this new volume. If you haven't read the series, begin at the beginning for full enjoyment.

Non stop action, drama and suspense. Like the previous books I throughly enjoyed reading this one. Keeps you guessing and even if some of you guess whom, how it all started and why will knock you back in your seat. An ending that only a gifted writer could pull off. I can't wait for book 12.

I like this series. Admittedly, I do get embarrassed by the sex scenes (thankfully there are few of them). The dynamic between the main characters is enjoyable and I want to know how they are doing as the next book comes out. Please let David finally get a mate he can love and be happy with!

This is a fascinating writer. Never been disappointed with his stories or characters. I had wanted wolf to marry Luke and I get another chance. Wolf series is never a disappointment. I wish they occurred more often but would not want the quality to decrease.

Just finished #11. Don't want write a spoiler review. So, I will just say, I am so sad. Hope there will be a #12 to this series. David is such fantastic character. Having read the entire series, I got attached to him. This is my the second time to finish a whole series, usually stop and move on to something else after 1-3 books. You rock as a writer. Thank you.

David Wolf is called to the scene of an accident, a car crash involving a stolen car and a Special Agent who has wounds that did not come from the car crash. She is also a past love Kristen Luke. One day before Wolf’s wedding. Why was she 20 hours away from her home? And who is trying to kill her. Now it’s up to Wolf to find the answers. Rain the next great Jeff Carson book to fly off the shelf.

One of the many great things about the David Wolf books is that you never know which way the story is going to turn. One of the less pleasing things is that I can read a lot faster than Jeff can write. If I could talk Jeff Carson and C J Box into offsetting each other it would sure make it better. ?

This author has written another intense adventure from start to finish. Many hints along the way without any sure conclusion. Unbelievable storyline that keeps the reader addicted to this author's work. Once again, David Wolfe at his finest.

Good Story. Fast paced. I enjoyed reading it.I didn't really like the ending that much but it leaves room for the next installment in the series. I read it the first day it came out. Now just need to wait for the next one.

David Wolf is once again a relentless, honest and righteous hero. This is one of those tales that makes it hard to put down and leaves you wanting more. I for one can't wait for the next installment. Jeff has woven a tale that keeps you guessing and satisfies with the answer.

There are 11 books in the series. I enjoyed book 1 enough that I wanted to read the 2nd book. I was hooked! By book 6 I was so invested in the characters and the town that I cousin not stop reading. I cried and laughed . I LOVED the main character. I had such dreams for him. This series has everything.

I love this series so much that after finishing book 11, if only Jeff could write them as quickly as I read them, I decided to treat myself by going back to the beginning and reading the series again. Have to admit I have more than a little crush on the lead character!!! Dear Santa...

Just finished reading the entire series. Well written and effortless reading. Make me glad I live in the south. His descriptions on the cold and wet makes me appreciate the warmth here. It sounds beautiful though. If you read the whole series you are left wondering how much abuse 1 person can stand. Love the plots and characters developed in the books.
