The author is great presenting in story line the historical information about the English Aristocracy During the Early centuries. She sticks to facts as much as she can then summaries with what is fact and what is fiction.

A very interesting book about the first half of Katherine of Aragon's life. The author follows the life of the first wife of Henry the 8th from her childhood through her first few years of marriage to Henry. I thoroughly enjoy Gregory's books both for the history and the great story telling.

Disappointing compared to other books by this author. Little historical insight and lots of introspection by the main character. Unfortunately, the same thoughts were on her mind throughout her life it seems.

I love buying books, especially when they go for a small price like $4.00. This book was purchased used, I was hesitant at first but received it and was very pleased. Great condition. The cover has shelf wear but overall it's readable.

I had little idea the incredible background of Catherine of Aragon, and author Philippa Gregory did a thoughtful and moving justice to this often under-realized Queen. We know her best as the first of the many of Henry VIII's wives, but, as this intriguing novel points out, there is more to this daughter of Spain than merely being rival to Anne Boleyn. Kudos to Gregory who, as always, delivers a provocative and passionate re-telling of Tudor England!!

I love Philippa Gregory's novels, specially the Tudor ones. This one in particular wasn't my favorite, it felt a little slow as I read it, however the history in it was very interesting, the characters had unexpected feelings and it was worth it just because it was great reading about what happened before the other novels.

It was quite interesting to hear about the story of her beginnings in England. You usually just hear her story about when she got dumped by her husband for a younger, prettier thing. I find Philippa Gregory did a fantastic portrait of Katherine Queen of England. She tells her story exactly how I would have imagined it. The story of a young woman who had to fight her entire life to get what she believed she deserved by right and accepting nothing less. She is my favourite Tudor wife

The first half was a little slow while the second half was hard to put down. I guess the set up was needed to understand her character in sustaining courage through all she had to endure. What a strong woman. I loved how she had such power over the king (and his father, to a degree) in the early years. It was interesting learning about the betrothal process and the double dealings with dowries; war plans. Very interesting in many ways if you're a historical fiction lover.

Philippa Gregory is a prolific writer of historical fiction. She is usually very accurate with her facts, and her fictional dialogue for the real characters is always appropriate and intriguing. As an avid fan of female novelists, she ranks at the top to me, and The Constant Princess sheds light on the facts surrounding this most interesting of Henry VIII's wives, and fills in the complexities of character that this dynamic woman brought to her century. Bravo again to Philippa Gregory and to Mary the Infanta of Spain, much mailgned by inference and mostly unknown in character.

So much disapointment, terror, sadness, abandonment but that is how things happened back then, which really transports you as if you are living it all with them. I loved the way the novel was written and how it flowed through such an amzing yet harsh environment. Infanta Catalina of Aaragon, Katherine of Aragon...... One on my top 5 list for powerful & influential women in the days when men ruled everything.

Really well written historic novel, catches your attention from the first page. You will not want it to end. The author makes us understand Katherine's actions as Queen based on what she had learn through her life since Infanta of Spain.
