GOD. This story was so great. I liked the writing style because it made me forget that I was reading a book. Lena was someone I could connect with and I actually found her and her friends endearing. House of Night and college pretty much got me used to the fact that yes, people do indeed call each other cursory names. And yes, they can be forms of endearment. Experience says so.

These bunch of teens were a rougher group in high school, so their language and various personalities really weren't so shocking. It made things interesting, and in all honesty, for once I actually enjoyed mundane things like their lunch periods or the James' sleepovers. My usual reads are urban fantasy, which should show you that this book- which blew me away emotionally by the way -is really something to check out. The LGBT community is such a huge thing to think about, whether you belong in it or not, solely for the reason that it does exist, and it is here to stay. I loved that the author showed how normal it is, and I also loved that she showed the different ways people react to it, accept it, discourage it, etc. You really get the whole experience, in my opinion.

It was a sweet and light read because of Lena's first love experience, but a very intense read because it was with the same sex, something that was new to her, let alone the people in her life. Watching her take it in stride and heart made for a beautiful romance, the kind I enjoy devouring. Juliet's family more than made up for the darker side of coming out, and I adored them. Their relationship and the way it turned out was not something I'd expected, mainly because I was more than content with being lead as a reader. The epilogue, thank goodness, was nice and long because it ended the way it did, I think I would've just sat in my room and cried lol.

I definitely recommend this. It's listed for Teens, and though there is soft intimacy and crude language, I personally don't see anything wrong with high school kids reading it. If you think you'd be uncomfortable or find such things inappropriate for teens, then you're thinking of immature ones who have no business reading such material in the first place. Let's be mature, people, and face the fact that this is a really sweet and romantic tale of first love with a lot of sad things that life gives us when people disagree with what makes us happy. I wish I'd read something like this when I was in high school, if only to feel a little better about one's sexuality and that it's. Totally. Normal. And okay. And beautiful.

So yes, read this if you're into first loves and sweet light reads with heady and deep topics. Teens are teens, they're immature and newbies at life, still finding what works for them and what they truly want. All I can say is it left me shedding a few sad and happy tears within the same chapter (last chapter really) and I'm happy I read it. It's been too long since I've found something that was able to wrap its arms around me.

Seventeen year old Lena Newman had been dating her football player boyfriend, Quinton Barron, for the past four months. Quinton is a jock who is obsessed with football, while Lena doesn’t quite fit into any of the typical cliques at school, preferring to sit in the neutral zone during lunch break. Lena’s best friend, Lacey Parker, is a cheerleader with plenty of spark and a whole lot of attitude. Often, Lena sits and listens as Lacey quietly mocks the other students in school, but this comes to a sudden halt when Juliet James arrives on the scene. The moment Lacey starts shooting critical remarks towards Juliet, Lena finds herself defending the new girl, much to the shock of outspoken Lacey. Regardless of her odd and unique dress sense and her lone-wolf attitude, Juliet soon invades Lena’s every thought and dream, leaving Quinton bitter and hateful, as he voices his homophobic views openly to the school. Seeing Quinton’s uncensored views of gay and lesbian relationships, Lena promptly breaks up with him. Confused by her own feelings, Lena now needs explore what she truly feels and hits the internet, hoping to find her new place in the world. Although Lena is completely enamored of another woman, she now risks losing the love and respect of everybody close to her if they discover her true feelings for Juliet James.

Charlotte Reagan’s story is tumultuous and is a journey that so many young teenagers (and older people) go through while trying to discover their true sexuality. Just Juliet is well-written, pulling the reader into the lives of all of the characters, so much so that it is like being a fly on the wall as events take place. I cannot help but empathize with young Lena, having walked this journey myself before realizing my own bisexuality. The fear of losing your friends and family is strong and very real, but at the same time you realize exactly who your real friends are along the way, building a bond you never thought possible with those who bring positivity into your life. The friendship and loyalty between these new friends is tight-knit, bringing about a story that I very much enjoyed from start to finish. I recommend Just Juliet to all fans of romance, showing positive LGBT relationships which withstand the test of time. I look forward to reading more from Charlotte Reagan in the future.

I absolutely loved this book! It was refreshingly honest and not over the top fairytale. It was friendship, love and family all wrapped in one and I didn't want to put it down. I can't wait to see what other books she has in the future.

This book is essentially a 'Keeping You a Secret' and 'South of 'Nowhere' cross over with a few darker details of depression thrown in.

That being said it was a cute read even though I found myself wanting to know about the secondary relationship in the story more than the main one. The ending felt rushed and forced but it also ended on a more realistic note for life and left it open for her to write more if she were to choose to do so.

Just Juliet:

Lena is confused- she's been placed in a societal box her entire life and feels as if she needs to follow the straight (literally) and narrow path.
But something's not right- how can she follow a mold she doesn't fit into?

Her life seems perfect from the outside looking in- hot popular boyfriend, friends, good grades etc- but when digging deeper it's just not Juliet.

With a past of hardships and an iron gate around her heart, Juliet switches schools. She's gorgeous, blonde hair blue eyes, and has a fashion style grander than her years.
And Lena notices- the way her hips sway, the softness to her features and the power that radiates off of her. Making her more confused then ever.

After much research, Lena comes to the conclusion she is bisexual and begins following her desires to be with Juliet- even while her parents struggle with the realization that their daughter is indeed different.

Through the last year of school, hormonal changes and collage approaching they make it work.... until a life alter decision needs to be made.

Will Lena continue to follow her love around the world or will she let go and move on?

Can Juliet find the courage to ask Lena to do that or will she shy away and tear the relationship apart at the seams?

Warning:
Tear jerker: grab the tissue.

While this book is written from a high schoolers perspective it is enjoyable for any age.

Heavy petting and kissing.

Just Juliet is a twist about a teenage girl named Lena who finds that her sexual path is not as straight and normal as she thought it to be.

The most memorable setting for me is when Lena visits the James' house for the first time. I could imagine myself being there and enjoying the family atmosphere where they joked, laughed, and made me feel like I
was a part of it. Even with the household chores!

Lena's relationship with her boyfriend Quinn, was definitely something every teen should take notice of.
The warning signs are all there. When your friends don't like your boyfriend and he doesn't remember
important things that everyone else does, and doesn't listen carefully to your feelings or what you are
saying, then he isn't the right one for you.

I enjoyed reading this simply because it was typical teenager days of school, parties, friendships, love,
lust, plans to be made, dirty language, and reminders of having to answer to parents.

I would recommend this book to any young adult who wants to read about differences in character,
gay v. straight, and choices that are made early in life. And for adults who want to reminisce about their
high school years or how to speak to their child about sex and handling the choices that are made
regardless of whether you agree with them or not.

This author develops the characters so completely that you feel like you know them. You not only want to know what happens in the next chapter, but what happens to them for the rest of their lives. I laughed out loud and cried tears of pain and heartache; not just the first time that I read it, but the second time as well.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

I’ll admit that when I first started reading this, I complained a little about special snowflakes, I mean there’s even a special snowflake table. Really? Anyways, after I got passed that, which didn’t take very long, it was so cute it was disgusting.

The pace is pretty good for the story, this cover is absolutely beautiful and the detail is good enough that I could see the characters in my head.

I will admit that the characters weren’t very developed, they did seem a little one dimensional but that’s alright with me because I did feel a connection after the special snowflake thing. I felt a connection with the main characters, kind of wish that the friends had more screen time but I am happy with the way the book came out.

I don’t know about teenagers nowadays but even I can relate to this book and I’m 24, though not with the main plot because I’m not in that situation. I remember that’s how my friends talked to each other.

I’m also a HUGE fan of The Nightmare Before Christmas so I could really relate to Juliet in that area.

I feel like this would be a good book for anyone, especially teens though, who are trying to figure themselves out, whether it be bisexual, asexual, etc. Would definitely recommend.

This story was amazing. It pulls you in immediately without going too fast. The writing style was amazing. The intimate scenes didn't make you uncomfortable. The relationship between Scott and Lakyn is what I want for me. Can't we just agree what an amazing book this was.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Oh Lena and Juliet are such amazing characters. I seriously loved them from the very beginning. Ok I love Juliet more, but who's keeping track.

Lena seems to live life in a boring routine. Her parents work too much, she's not popular but her best friend is, and she is unsure of her relationship with her boyfriend whom she seems to have almost no feelings for. In walks Juliet, the girl Lena can't stop thinking about. The one who makes her realize she is bisexual.

What I loved about this book was that the relationships were genuine and not stereotypes. Lena's discovery of her sexuality was such an amazing process. I liked going through that with her. Juliet is so edgy and artsy and the most perfect character. I seriously loved her. Not only is the relationship between Lena and Juliet important but all the things that don't normally get discussed like suicide and abuse.

I really like this book although I don't think F/F romance is for me. I simply cannot deny that this was a really good book. If you don't have a problem same sex relationships then I think people will enjoy this book.

Charlotte Reagan brings to life a vibrant tale of young love, diverse sexuality and hilarious teenage banter in “Just Juliet.” This story is neither gloomy nor cozy but rather an affectionate story that could be…real life. There are no major signs of teenage angst or overly zealous plot lines in this book. There is however, a real and raw truth that I believe many young adults can identify with.

While the main character fights with her own sexuality, her love interest Juliet, is a lesbian. Staying close to the story is a young gay couple, whom I absolutely adored. There are varying degrees of parental involvement, to cover any part of the spectrum involving coming out to an adult.

This simple yet enchanting tale of young love and varying degrees of sexuality is exactly what I wish I would have had to read a decade ago. I wish that I could have read this, before coming out to my friends and family. I may have been less dramatic about my approach, but I digress. I am thankful that this book is available to teenagers and young adults who may be struggling with their situations.

I received this book for free, not in exchange for a review, but I am giving one anyway because I think this author has a lot of potential. I found this book interesting because it gave me a glimpse into a world that is not my own. I enjoyed the main characters, and even the supporting characters, but I feel like the story lacked something that really pulled me in. The story seemed superficial in that we only really scratched the surface of who all the characters were. They all came across as a description, more than a real feeling of their personalities. While the story was a bit predictable, I still very much enjoyed the journey of Lena & Juliet falling in love and Lena's personal journey, however I felt like the book lacked a really big climax. There was no big "moment" that we were building up to. Or rather, there was, with Lena's struggle to come out but it was dealt with in bits and pieces throughout, leaving me hanging in a way - maybe just wishing for a little more adversity or something? I also felt like there were too many unanswered questions, things that were brought up but never resolved, like Layken's history or what Grandpa's reaction really was. It was an enjoyable read and I think the author will do well in the future. Maybe Layken will get his own story? I appreciate being given the opportunity to read something that I normally would not and I truly hope that if my children ever come out to me, I can be a Mr. James.

I first read this book before it was published and chapters were being written and the characters were still changing. This book has been one of my favorites and will continue to be just that forever. Thank you Charlotte Reagan for creating these characters, it's truly been a pleasure!

It was amazing! I would recommend this book to anyone. Especially since a lot of people think they are alone when defining their sexuality and need to understand that confusion is a normal feeling. It's refreshing to find an LGBTQ book that's not just about sex but has a wonderful plot as well.

This book made my heart ache exponentially. I was not expecting it to end how it did, but it's fitting somehow. As a bisexual girl myself it's so hard to find wlw fiction, and when I do it's like I've struck gold.
