My first Lauren Smith was entertaining, steamy and sweet. A bit of a nod to The Quiet Man relationship-wise which I enjoyed. There were great supporting characters that I'm anxious to see fall in
Lighthearted moments were limited for my taste oand/or they lacked delivery. The insertion of extra words and words out of order made for an annoying mind stutter-stop occasionally, but edited better than some.

My first time reading this author and agree she reminds you of Julia Quinn's "Bridgertons" and Johanna Lindsey's "Malory's" families.
This first book grabs you from the start wondering where Emily and Gardic will end up. The story has intrigue, adventures and a Love Story you root for. This author really made you care about the characters and look forward to reading about all the rogues. I highly recommend it. Already bought the second book!!

I enjoyed Wicked Designs so much that after reading the first few chapters I purchased the rest of the League of Rogues series. I'm currently in Book 3 and adore these characters and families. Ms. Smith has constructed each book to focus on one of the Rogues and his HEA, although there are hints and roadblocks that are entwined in the plots of the entire series. She has, in my opinion, done a remarkable job creating a story environment that provides familiarity from book to book without sacrificing plot. Highly recommended.

You are bless with a beautiful gift of writing. You know your work is good and one book for free and you knew your readers would want to read each and every one of your books in this series. And for that I thank you. I enjoy every page and now I must head to your library and purchase book two. I wish you continue success. Readers you will fail in love with the characters this I have no doubt. Happy reading. DH from New York City

A stand alone story, this does entice the reader to chase down other books in the series. There are enough questions about other characters and hints about future dramas to draw my interest. She was a new author for me and I like her style. The characters are good and it is interesting to see personalities develop and thought processes progress as they affect the outlook of characters and outcomes of various dramas.

JUst finished the last book, so far in the series! Lauren, please, please, please hurry! I can see at least 4 if not 6 more books from this group! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them and can't wait for the evil villain to be vanquished! Oh and Charles, I keep waiting and waiting for him to figure it out! I KNOW who he will marry but can't wait to see how it all starts and ends! This series is GREAT and I am now looking for more Lauren Smith books! Great author!

Plot was hot then cold and had very repetitive dialog, didn't need to have the violent playbacks the author included as part of the story, so not what you'd want in a fun romance romp. Not fun or comfortable to read. ?

Her style I found not to my liking so I will not be continuing with this series or seek out any more books written by this author.

I do thank you for the opportunity to read as a free Kindle.

This story is well written, the characters are developed good, and the book is balanced nicely. It is easy to get lost in the story and not want to stop reading.
It would be nice to have either a bigger space or something to mark when no ping from one sub-story line to another. Sometimes to was a bit confusing they way they did it.
This ended setting up for the next book. Leaves you wanting to read it, without leaving you hanging on this story.

Enjoyed the crazy exploits in this 19th Century story of, I don't know -- Roninhood typr characters. The book was surely entertaining, and I guess had some historical significance. The League were a group of interesting noble men. There was intrigue, treachery , mystery , debauchery and murder. Given the events that happened, the time frame
was totally unbelievable . However, I found Ms Emily Parr to be a delightful heroine. I would read another book by this author at the right price.

A well penned story of deep friendship and love. What started out as a plot of vengeance turned into a passion filled existence for Godric and Emily. Unbeknownst to the League, it also planted seeds of hope within their hearts to experience deep fulfilling love that they believe they do not deserve.

I enjoyed the story concept--kidnap & ruin a young lady's reputation. However I felt some parts of the story was bogged down in unnecessary scenes. Lots of conversation about love & fidelity that I could have done without. Overall worth a read.

I really liked the rogues. They were disliked by the ton but honorable in their o w n way. It was as almost an all for one and on e for all thing like the three muskateers. This is book one so I expect 5more. The characters were interesting and the plot was twisting. I am looking forward to the next book.

This story has it all: brave, intelligent heroine, devilish, troubled hero, animals, castles, fiendishly evil villains, and enough action, intrigue and mystery to keep me reading far past my bedtime. Godric and Em have an evolving relationship that challenges the codes of behavior of the times but it's striking a blow for personal freedom that makes for a heartwarming story.

I enjoying reading it but I felt Emily could have been stronger and made more escape attempts. I felt she folded to quickly but she was dealing with a rake with no shame in getting what he wanted but in the end I suppose he lost. She got his heart. I wished I could slap the men in this book myself. urgh....Loved the few illustrations that are in the book.

I totally enjoyed this book. All the characters were well written. I loved her secondary characters just as much. The only character you get frustrated with mostly is the lead female and the choices she makes at times. The author is very descriptive in developing her characters and how well they all interact. I will enjoy reading her other stories of the League of Rogues.

I enjoyed the slow burn of this romance, however it's tough to get past the initial abduction and ruining of Emily's reputation. It's hard to believe that she would fall in love so quickly with someone that treated her so callously. I really liked the interaction between the Rouges and will read subsequent books to get more of them.

It was a different, nice, wonderful story. Lauren Smith did a great, special work. The plot, the enchanting characters, all had me mesmerized. Loved it.
Why not be abducted by some rogues like those???? Liked Godric, Lucien Ashton, Charles, Cedric and Jonathan.
Congratulations

What would you do if your carriage was hijacked? Emily is introduced to the Rogues and vows to escape to live her own life. Her rogue falls for her as designs change to protection as more danger is afoot. The reader is swept into regency London as we follow their journey.

Interesting story line which I enjoyed as it was a bit different to the typical historical romance. I would actually give it a 4.5 star rating it loses half a point because at times the story just dragged & I skimmed over the sex scenes as they were not necessary for me to enjoy the actual plot & seemed tedious.

Really liked this book. It was slow in the beginning but I trudged my way through. Then it became most interesting and grabbed my attention and I could not put it down. Excellent story of loving the unavailable only to win the heart in the end. the Characters were so interesting kept me reading. I do recommend this book.

I absolutely loved this book. I was completely wrapped up in Godric's kidnapping of Emily; and the seduction that transpired between them after. Godric isn't necessarily the bad guy who kidnaps women. He has his reasons; but after kidnapping Emily, he found he was captivated not only by her beauty but also her strength and intelligence. The story was so addicting that I couldn't put it down. And we can't forget the evil, disgusting Blankenship. Ugh! He even made me cringe! I also enjoyed the banter between the League of Rogues and Emily. They were very entertaining and I can't wait to read more about the rest of those Rogues.

Got this book under my kindle unlimited and didn't really like the premise but boy was I surprised. A
really good book with action, adventure seduction and spice. Looking forward to the next installment.

I normally would not pick up a regency book. This book has changed my opinion. This was cleverly written. I did not expect this to be a book i could drown myself in and i found i could not put it down. Once I finished it, I was disappointed because i wanted more. I fell for each of the "rogues". Each was different and wonderful in their own right. But the one character I throughly found I could relate to was Emily Parr. She is ahead of her time in thinking and very strong willed. I appreciated the strong and witty female. I would easily and excitedly refer this book to everyone. This was great money spent. I cannot wait for a sequel. I will be the first in line to purchase the next book! I give a big thank you to the author, Lauren Smith, for sharing her writing with all of us. I believe she will be on the best sellers list for years to come. Thank you again!

Fast paced, funny, romantic, sexual and it includes the thrill of multiple chases throughout the book. It is a good read for a lazy afternoon. It is a little weak in dealing with the uncle, this could have been a stronger conclusion.

First time reading this author and wasn't disappointed! Great group of characters and fell in love with them all! Five friends sworn to each other through titles, loyalty and brotherhood. Can't wait to read the next book.

This story just doesn't make sense. The heroine is supposed to be feisty but turns sappy at every moment. The hero is supposed to be a good man but coerces the heroine. They "fall in love" right away but the conflict is not believable. It feels forced at every moment.

Wicked Designs (The League of Rogues Book 1) might be a good book but I only got a tease, so I was most displeased. I think I could like it if I could get more than a few pages...Truth is description please!

The scenes are set perfectly, the mood is just right, I can see just see this notorious band of rogues reeking their havoc. Oh what a bewildering mass of chaos this book holds! Just got to remember to breath.

The league of rogue are intriguing characters. Each one has a different personality. That makes the league of friends work well together. The female leads are strong, beautiful and very smart. Loved part 1 can't wait to read the rest. Very well written.

So happy to find this book/writer. Everything a historical novel should encompass. Just did not want it to end. Group of men who did fit together and one little lady who brought them up to scratch.

Fun read w funny, laugh out loud scenarios. Loved Emily. Wish her other books were free as I'd like to see what the rest of the League ends up w & the hoops & antics they have to put up w to finally find their life mates.

What a spicy regency romance! Though it was hard for me to get past the "kidnapping and ruining" at the beginning, I loved getting to know the rogues and enjoyed their friendship the most of the story. The ending was satisfying and I loved that the MC never lost her fight.

Sweet, intelligent, innocent Miss Emily Parr is 'taken' as in stolen, by the 'League of Rogues' for one of them, Gordic (a Duke) to ruin. Starts out kind of silly but gets better as it goes along. Enjoy!

This was a wonderful story, with just the right amount of romance and adventure. The relationship between Emily and the League of Rogues is both humorous and heart warming. I found myself unable to put down the book, wanting to know how it would end. This was my first time reading a book written by Lauren Smith but it will not be my last. I'm going to purchase book two very soon.

Just enough sizzle and spice mixed with the right amount of intrigue equals a recipe for an excitingly good read. Never a boring minute and you instantly love all of the rogues! Son,t miss out on reading this one.

Wicked Designs was a very enjoyable read. This is not my usual genre, but I found it fun, interesting, and wanting to get to know these characters better. The primary characters were witty, charming and good natured. Steamy romance without going overboard. If you are a fan of historical romance, this is the book for you! Looking forward to the next sequel in this series very much!
