Nash and Maisey, teenage sweethearts who each took different turns away from each other on the road of life, are reunited, but in horrific situation. Maisey has been kept isolated from everyone at her ex boyfriends estate. He is holding her prisoner. Maisey mom has hired Nash to rescue her. A difficult task due to her bf being the biggest drug dealer in Florida and has access to many police personnel.

Maisey is written as an airhead, selfish, without any regard to her personal safety or her baby's. How can one person continually make such stupid decisions? I couldn't find anything likable about her, so it's hard to root for the couple.

I am so tired of pathetic female characters in romance novels. Especially when the stupid actions of the female lead cause the book to go on a lot longer than it should.

When the book opens, Maisey knows that the father of her child is a homicidal drug lord. And yet, she thinks she can just ask nicely and be allowed to leave once their son is born. So rather than work with Nash when he comes to save her, she throws a fit and gets them both caught. The book goes downhill from there.

Actually think and help Nash plan their escape? Nope, she just mopes and follows his lead. The one time she takes initiative, it was still the wrong thing to do.

The idea for this series is interesting. However, after reading this book, there is no way I'm reading the rest

Rogue the first (1) book in the SEAL Team; Disavowed series) by Laura Marie Altom kept my interest and wanting to keep reading until the end. (In fact I read the book in 6 hours!)
Navy SEAL team alpha had been discharged and disbanded from the Navy and were disavowed. These did men did missions for individuals who paid them.
Former Navy SEAL Nash Adamson was on a mission to save an old friend of his Maisy Drake from her drug kingpin husband Vicente Rodriguez in the Everglades of Florida when everything went wrong. Oh, did I mention Maisy was pregnant with Vicente’s son and he was keeping her prisoner, plus not really her husband?
Nash and Maisy were childhood friends and sweethearts and with each obstacle they encountered they learned more about themselves and each other that they had forgotten. And obstacles they did encounter! Vicente and his men chased them through alligator and snake infected swamps, paid an elderly couple to befriend the couple and then turn them over to him and staged a road block to get Maisy and his son back. Mix in Nash’s SEAL buddies and where would we be without a car race or two? Moms and a mansion included for good measure and the fun begins!
Love triumphs in the end with Vicente dead and Maisy, Nash and baby Joe together. But getting there....you have to read the book to find out. And I can guarantee you won’t be disappointed. I wanted to shake Maisy and Nash, strange them, kiss them and shake them, but in the end hug them.

Rogue by Laura Marie Altom
SEAL Team: Disavowed Series Book One
Nash Adamson hasn't really been living since his wife and son died a year ago. He hadn't been using the skills he'd learned as a SEAL either. Not since his other ex-SEAL friends thought he needed to take a break so he could pull his life together. That's why he was on this mission to save a woman without the rest of his team around him.

Maisey Blake made some pretty poor decisions in her life. Letting her first love go because she felt all men in the Navy would be like her dad—no good. This latest poor decision...which she blamed on her no-good father as well...had really gotten her into deep trouble. Her third mistake was not obeying orders from the man who came to rescue her.

This has the looks of being a really good series. I loved this first story and can't wait for the next one. A group of ex-SEALs team together to use their skills in their civilian lives...since they were discharged for taking things into their own hands on the field.
Heroes to some...criminals to others.

Lots of excitement in this book. We know from the beginning who the bad guys is, but there is a lot of suspense as we try to figure out if they are going to be able to get away from him or not.

Nash Adamson is a former Navy SEAL, who is trying to overcome some personal loss in his life when he gets a call from his high school girlfriend's mother asking him for help. Maisey has evidently gotten mixed up with a major drug lord and is in danger.

Maisey Blake fell for Vincente Rodriguez's lines and thought he was her long awaited Prince Charming come to claim her at last. Little did she know that he was already married when he married her after finding out she was pregnant with the child he is desperate for.

Will Nash be able to rescue Maisey from where Vincente is holding her hostage?

Loved the rescue of Maisey . Ex navy seal Nash is contracted my Maisey's mother (who is best friends with his mother) to tell him she's in trouble. She is being held by her unborn child's father who she had thought was her husband. He had lived her all though growing up,protected her till she said no to marrying him and he hasn't seem or talk to her again. But he goes on a one man rescue with out calling his ex team. You will laugh at them, cringe when you wonder how they will survive. To save her and her son he will have to call in his friends, bring both their mothers to join them, kidnap her son to stop her ex from taking him from her for his wife, being shot at more than once, snakes, swamps and the things you find there. But adventure love story.
