Candace Calvert has once again written a winner! BY MY SIDE is a wonderful mix of romance, suspense and humor. Of course, the medical situations in this book, as well as her other books is spot on. Her years as an ER nurse shine through in her novels. Nothing better than writing from the heart and this is what Candace Calvert does well. Her humorous personality can also be found in the pages of her books. My reviews contain no spoilers... I feel that you can read the synopsis to get a better idea of the storyline. All I share is my honest thoughts & opinions as promised to the author. I received an ARC from the author. No compensation was received. By Your Side by Candace Calvert is action packed and suspenseful with a little romance thrown in! This contemporary fiction will definitely keeping you turning pages. Candace Calvert brings to life a deputy, an ER nurse and a sniper. You will feel the emotions of a woman who went through the California foster care system and the peace of a woman with leukemia who knows her future is in God's hands. The book offers insights into the lives of crisis volunteers. I highly recommend this story with unusual twists.

By Your Side is an excellent medical mystery/romance. It has the perfect balance of twists and turns with romance added to make for great book. There is adventure, disaster, trust issues, family problems combined with a sniper to make an edge of your seat read. I enjoy this author's books and this one was one of my favorites so far.

I really enjoyed this book and am so looking forward to the next in the series. Ear Nurse Macy Wynn is a great character. I loved her attitude. When she and Deputy Fletcher Holt meet it is wonderful. There is a good amount of romance and some mystery with the sniper. There is much tenderness and hope throughout this book also. I received this from book fun.org for a fair and honest opinion.

I do enjoy a good medical suspense with a little romance and Candace Calvert can combine those elements with a spiritual theme and keep me turning the pages wanting to know.. what next? Real to life emergency drama, romance and and a by your side crisis team.. what more could I ask for?? If you like medical drama.. you will like this book! Macy is as tough as nails after growing up in foster care. She believes in God but doesn’t consult him on some of biggest decisions of her life. The same can be said about Fletcher. Only he grew up in a loving family. This is the story of their journey. The journey is rocky at times as they find out the ones they thought they could trust the most is not who they thought they were. Fletcher has to realize that he is not in control of his mother’s cancer. Macy has to learn what happiness means.

This is not a high suspense novel. I was expecting more. The sniper did make it suspenseful in some parts. Overall it was a good book. One I would recommend to someone who likes light suspense with romance thrown in.

Candace Calvert has done it again. Creating a quick page turner that will have your heart racing in no time. You’ll quickly fall in love with Fletcher and Macy and will even find yourself on the edge of your seat at times with a suspenseful story line.

I'm a sucker for romance...especially non-raunchy, Christ-honoring romance. I saw the ending almost before the book even started, but it was fun to read through the pages and watch the relationship develop one catastrophe at a time. I received this book from tyndale publishers to review, and I'm so glad. I've never read anything from Candace Calvert before, but found out that she has done other series before. I will definitely become an avid Calvert reader.

The romantic in me loves a great Christian romance, but the former medic in me enjoys medical suspense. To say I thoroughly enjoyed this book could never fully express how good it was. I can't wait too see what's next. Great book.

Another great book by Candace. I love how the story opens and how the characters are introduced. I loved how the two main characters lives intertwined. I had a hard time putting this book down. I love Candace's writing and she doesn't disappoint with By Your Side!
