On the grounds of the US Naval Academy in Annapolis stands a huge statue of Jesse Brown. Until now, I never understood the significance of the statute or his accomplishments. This is a great story of overcoming against the odds, friendship and what makes America great. This book goes in my Family library today.

Adam Makos brings history alive for the reader. You have to read this story about friendship and heroism between two Navy fighter pilots during the Korean Conflict. It is spell binding and a page turner. I now have learned what it is like to fly a Corsair!

Just finished reading "Devotion". What the Marines went through in Korea! I am a former Marine and Viet Nam Combat Veteran. I have also bought and read "A Higher Call" about a year ago. Viet Nam Vets and Korean Vets have a lot in common. I encourage all many fellow vets to read Devotion. A truly great book!

Loved the beginning, middle interesting but would be even better if non relevant material were deleted. Love the action once battles began in Korea. Captivating, riveting and made my hands sweat! Could't put it down at end.

Devotion is a tribute to a selfless generation and a war that has long been forgotten. The author has brought to light one of many heartwarming tales of patriotism and the bond between soldiers. Well written and a pleasure to read. Adam Makos has once again reminded all of us of the sacrifices made without question and a time of greatness in our country .

This book is written in such a captivating way that it engulfs you. It is a superb portrayal of the men who fought and gave their lives
in the most difficult of circumstances. It really hurts me when I mention the Korean War and I am told it was just a conflict. This book finally
tells the other side of the Korean Conflict and the Chosin Resovoir. I have heard it called the forgotten war, believe me after you read this book
you will never forget.

A riveting read for anyone interested in history and inspirational stories! I was fascinated by the first person accounts of the fighting at Chosin Reservoir . The story of Jesse Brown and Thomas Hudner truly lives up to the title of the book!!

Devotion is a fantastic book-an interesting, dramatic, true story that was well written and researched. It has been a huge hit with my family. My husband is neck deep in it now, my sister-in-law loved it so much that she purchased a copy for her father who was a WWII vet, and he is a huge fan now too! A must read!

"Devotion" -- another great story from international bestselling author and military historian, Adam Makos, who brought us "A Higher Call". An incredible story of two brave naval aviators, who came from very different backgrounds, at a time when America was divided by segregation -- a white New Englander, and an African-American sharecropper's son, from Mississippi -- who fought together in the same fighter squadron in the Korean War. This is a must read, especially today, with race relations so strained in our country. Here is a a true story of two men's friendship, courage, and love for each other that knew no bounds. A great read -- and it would make a terrific movie!! I'd give it more than five stars if I could.
